reavers on the plateau have about 3.5 - 4 k HP, about 1 k less than revenants.
for wizzies: ice based nukes are best (never had a single resist with ice comet), followed by fire (1 out of 6 or 7 being resisted) and last being magic (sometimes I have to recast snare 3 times until it sticks...).
be safe :)
as to poetics post: just relax, dude...

Still a noob. :-P Characters on Drinal, Povar, EMarr, Firiona Vie.
These guys are a bit harder than you would think. As a 52 nec i have died twice due to the amazing amount of hp they can deal out in a few seconds. Boil blood, disease, another dot and also nukes with ignite bones a 500hp DD spell. Be carefull not to let them cast or you will understand how quickly they can kill. FEAR is your friend with these . I would also agree that they are undercons and very dangerous. good luck and happy killing.
Stayaway Ok 52nd necro Fennin RO Crusaders of Drunken Might
I doubt they are undead. Not tried an undead dd on them, but i just floated all through the temple with invis and everything up there was indifferent. And believe me, I con'd Everything before i got near it. All was dark blue to 47 necro.
They're most definitely undead: my undead slow works on them, and were it not for the casting the 49 pet could easily tank them after that. Usually end up fearing these guys and nuking them down, since they resist Snare and Slow so much and often break Fear quickly.
I was hunting here the other day. I hate to say it, but this silly thing completely wiped me {56 druid) and my monk friend (44). We were camping the Sun Reaver that is for the Bane Shield quest. Its a single reaver that can spawn the priest. Anyway, I buff the monk and send it in. Next think I know, it cast this spell on me monk called "Sun Revenants Curse". The graphics on my screen basically froze, couldn't see anything move. I was unable to move. Now I looked up the spell in EqCaster and was able to find out that it is a dot for 264hp over 1.1 mins with a 40dd. But it says nothing about the extra element of this spell which basically is like a blind/stun spell, except your screen doesn't go black.
Anyway, the monk dies first shot.. I thought I was just lagging real bad and went back to try it again. Same thing happened and my druid died this time.
Anyway, the spell seems to be disease based and is supposedly moderately easy to resist, I guess I just got unlucky. Gonna try it again and see how it goes...
Sun Revenant's Curse is their melee proc. The effect you experienced was separate; since the Reavers cast Necro spells I'd guess you got hit with Screaming Terror.
I've been hit by this same effect a number of times while hunting cheetahs there <grumble, grumble...stinkin' adds>, but haven't ever had the additional effect of the blind/stun. Don't know what to tell ya...
if you are lvl 50+ and have a hard time solo'ing one of these ive got just 2 words for you... RESIST GEAR! duh. without the spells these guys go down like a load of bricks for my 56 pally. I havent been able to see this curse yet because i have resisted it every time so far (killed about 20-25 of these so far solo)
I'm a lvl 53rd necro and i pick these guys up any chance i get....now sending my pet in toe to toe may not be the smartest thing to do(or sending a monk in) these guys are the true suckers to Fear snare/fear and they dead in seconds flat
Very true. I am a Mage and love this camp, but I duo with a necro every chance I can. The Necro fear with 2 rouge pets brings these down Quick. Me and a Necro can kill every spawn and have down time on the plateu.
The ones up on the Plateau are much higher level than the ones wandering the zone, or on the edge of the zone. Same with the Tro Jegs that are up there.
For the ppl that wonder if the Reavers are castera i can tell u that they are Shadow Knights and yes indeed cast Fear DoT´s and other nice spells ;) Btw Revenants are Necro´s.
The level on these is incorrent, I spent 3 hours in Scarlet last night (I dont give a damn) and I failed to see one of these that wasn't red to me at 40 in the area that I was.
These guys con dark blue to me at 39. The Revenants con even. I only saw one of them, so I'm not sure what they're range is, but they definately can be below 39.
Didn't see a Reaver that wasn't blue to me at 51 and pulled a couple that had to be in mid 40's considering how much of a fight they gave us, So I'd agree, the reavers certainly get above the stated lvl limit of 39.
I agree, I've hunted there with my 45 druid, (and group) and I track many white mobs. But I've yet to see a yellow mob,....anytype,....in SD. So I guess by my experience the mobs go to Level 45 and cap there. I have killed, and tracked quite a few named ones and they weren't over 45 either. Just to finish the thought I see an equal number of green mobs as white mobs, maybe 5-10% each. The mobs on the plateau do seem a little higher, but not too overwhlmingly higher.
careful with invis, some of these guys see through it, if not all. Was me (40 ranger) and a 40 druid just looking around, only guys in zone, invised of course, i heard something along the lines of "you wood elves have ruined our lands, you will not ruin ours" suddenly i lose control of myself and run off the plateau. had about a bub of life left, expecting my iminent doom, when i realized the long fall had lost the aggro. heh anyway point of the story, careful, invis might not be enough! Zerenorf Ranger of the 40th season Saryn
Well my roomie and i like to fear kite these things in the desert but we found that one of the 2 types (reavers/revenants) can cast a fear spell and a poison dd for about 200 odd...
nasty suprize when my roomie's fear when down and i ran away...
The level of the reaver seems to depend where they are in the zone. All of the reavers and revenents that surround the sun lord's keep on the hilltop are red to a 40. So 43+ would seem right and I think our 48 cleric said one was even.
