I camped this guy FOREVER must have killed him 200 times and have never had the Spell drop once, my beastlord didnt even Need the spell anymore, but I just could not give up.... However camping it all those hours I found it to be a good pp camp, Lots of gems some gear for less fortunate players, and 2 higher lvl names that have a decent drop or 2 like the Helm of the Vampiric traitor. All were easy for a 65 bst to solo. But I never did get Sprit of Flame :(

He's on the 2nd floor as you come up the stairs, he spawns to your right. Can't miss him.
The posts about him being resistant to magic are untrue, for all my magic based spells landed for max damage and were never resisted.

Spirit of Flame is a very, very rare drop off of him.
After talking to peeps in my guild, about the combined number of times we've killed him and the number of times the spell has acctually dropped, I'm guessing the drop rate is in the range of 1 in 200 to 1 in 250 kills for it to drop.
The vamp castle is a very popular plat camp along with Seb, Hill Giants in Rathe and the Enforcer camp in PoJ for peeps in Al'Kabor.
I was extremely lucky and had it drop on my very first solo of him, but I tagged along to about 50 to 70 other kills with various peeps for exp. It never dropped once there. Great exp BTW for a peep 43rd to 50th level if you tag along with a 65th level peep.
All the named vamps are resistant to magic, mildly resistant to ice and susuptible to fire. They have about 10K hit points.
He mainly likes to nuke various wizzy spells and will lifetap you like the other vamps for 200. Very helpful to have a rune of some kind. He tends to spend most of his time casting and very little time chasing and trying to melee.
Due to that reason, he's probably the easiest vamp for a wizzy to kill with good resists. Just out DPS him and chain rune yourself if you're solo tanking him. I'd suggest an AC of 750 or higher, at 850 you can just tank and chain rune yourself between SoS casts for all the vamps, even the second vamp if you have the Channeling AAs. Very fast kills this way. I never kite him, too much trouble. However, if your AC is low, then kite him and the others.

Took him out today looking for Moonfire. If your careful and patient can do him at 60.

He will stop and cast multiple times, so if you pull him late in the roamers path, you take a chance on them getting back before he gets out.

Wizard. Most of his nukes bounced off a 65 Druid, yet he's still pretty strong. Dark Blue con to 65. Emptied a good bit of mana to take him out. Flurry'd on me.
Not too much of a threat to a higher level, but resists have a lot to do with this. Advise younger levels to take caution and invest time&mana into resist buffs.

58 BST, 58 Necro, 58 Druid took the whole place down all named but one, that corrupt character, we had to evac, he is no joke, only thing we didnt try was fear, i know slow didnt take and hit for 318, as far as the other mobs in this place, easy is a fair word for our group.

Necro hunting this guy is easy just pull him with a non damage spell to ramp then sick pet drop lifetap dot on him then slow. Heal pet when needed. He likes to drop ice comet on you though. Respawn time on names in castle is 30m.

I have been camping this SOB for almost 2 years now and killed him hundreds of times. Not ONCE has he dropped SoF. Not once. At 65 he is a push over for me. At 60 he was tough, but not now. I refuse to pay 20k for a spell, so now it is more of a vendetta. I know he drops it because I see it all the time in the Bazaar.

I just wanted to mention that he's on an aproximate 1 hour timer and that he is NOT an easy fight. He's an undercon that me [55 Bst] and a 62 Bst had a tough time dropping. A lot of hp for his level and very resistant to spells not to mention he nukes hard and pretty fast.
Killed him twice tonite and no spell.

Spirit of flame only dropped for us when the lvl 62 boss was up. got a moonfire while he was up too. then 10 65's came and owned him for his ashes.. so no more spells dropped (

Had the BL spell: spirit of fire drop for the first time in weeks of camping. Drop rate is indead very rare.

It would appear that the drop table for named in TM have been changed to Include words for 55-60 spell research.

All these vamps are fearable, however, they are immnune to run speed, which makes it not a viable option. Would work nicely on this caster, since it casts ice commet, but having it run at full speed would not be cool at all. I was surprised when instill doubt kicked in and it began running. Good thing we had cleared the other mobs.
When pulling this, I hit my sk with pov(psalm of Veeshan). Having your resists up is highly recommended against this mob, as it nukes hard.
Aside from this, no different from other vamps. They do have different classes among themselves. I believe one is a chanter mob, but it could never land any spell at me at all, even after it tashed me.
It dropped a rare bst spell once for us, other times no interesting loots, just vt.
Good luck with this one and remember to have good resists up when taking on him.

i have killed renaldok around 20 times in the last two weeks specifically trying to get spirit of flame for my bst, but have seen no sign of it.
bloodweave tunic, four pairs of gloves of the damned, etc, sure...but no bst spell. grr.

He drops an great cape for casters. forget the stats, but it's not listed in the droppable loot. +8 Wis/Int +80 mana and another stat with 8ac.
Wierd as it may sound, Renaldok Masric does not drop the Renaldok Wing Cape. Trilexior Aeridia on the 3rd floor does.
Its a very nice cape. Also has +12 PR/DR, which are hard resists to raise.

does anyone know where else this spell drops, I have been hunting here for 2 months about 6 hours a day looking for the spell spirit of flame and killed relanldok several times, but yet no spell, there is gotta be a place where the spells drop a little more frequent, right?

Wrong :{.Spent alot of time here from 54+,mostly solo,sometimes with friends and it took 57 kills to get Spirit of flame,since then I have gone back a few times when had nothing better to do,ripped whole castle up with 64 pet(continous killing from entrance to top floor balcony) and never seen it drop since.As far as Im aware the only other places it drops is off luclin boss mobs and just as rarely so either get used to the place or sell all the vendor loot you get and buy the spell,is down to 6-10k on Rathe now.
It just dropped again for me last night. Ive killed him about 12 times over the past 3 days and this was the only time it dropped.
I wonder if the patch message that said they were "increasing the drop rate" said that or said they were "improving" the drop rate. Improvement in Sony's eyes means nerfing the heck out of it and reducing the drop rate. This spell used to drop alot more often before they "fixed" it.

Well this guy dropped something different that what is listed. He dropped a Blood Weave Tunic -

1 of only 4 really dropped beastlord spells (all other dropped spells can also be purchased) drops from this guy... Spirit of Flame. Killed him 6 times and got 3 spells.
Also, it seems as thought the normal vampires cannot be feared... but the winged ones can! Some gate, but fearing stops them. Easy kills once we figured this out. Had a level 60 necro doing the fearing.

They must have nerfed his spell drop. I've killed him 10 times and still haven't seen it. Nor has the others that have been camping him.

This was probably a bug, as the last patch stated that Spirit of Flame and Snow will now be dropping more often, and possibly off more mobs.

Okay, post patch I still have yet to have this drop off of this mob. Did the patch really fix anything? Is this spell dropping off of something else now since it seems not to be dropping here?
Shadow overlord in ME drops flame as well.

Yes, he still drops it - it's just a rare drop. (and it always was - the person who got three out of six kills was incredibly lucky) It's also dropping off Cursed/Exiled/Rhag1/Rhag2 now, apparently.

This is the NPC that gives out the SK/Necro quest for Coterie Mask of the Dead.
Hail him, and he'll give you a 4 slot container. You must kill Xin Thall Centiens in Maiden's Eye or Akheva and collect 4 Akheva Blood, combine them in the container, and give it back to Renaldoc Masric.
Coterie mask of the dead is right-click FD, must be equipped to use. Same cast time as the regular necro spell, but there is no recast time, so you can unmem FD if you wish.

Have killed him several times and gotten a couple High-end Gems, Jacinth, Blue Diamond. That's about it, some half decent armor for a lower level, blood weave stuff.
