My 49 druid tried the "Beguile Plant" spell on "a sunflower" in Scarlet Desert. Got the message "Your target is too high of a level for your charm spell." Then tried "Allure of the Wild" and got the message "This spell only works on animals."
No surprise to either result. I've had plant mobs in the high 20s (in Dawnshroud Peaks) that were "too high of a level" for "Beguile Plant" to work, which is kinda silly considering that "Beguile Plant" is a level 29 spell that has no upgrades.
Most "a sunflower" were light blue to me at level 49, but a few were dark blue. I estimate that one of the dark blue ones I killed had about 3300 hps.
Incidentally, "a scarlet cheetah" is charmable with "Allure of the Wild" and makes a reasonably good pet.
At 45, all of these are dark blue. One I pulled last night was doubling for over 100 and stunning. Yes, straight sunflower, not one of the other types. Very tough fight solo. Must have been one on the high end of the scale.
Note to self: Be at full health and mana before playing tag with A Sunflower.
These go down to 38, since I was hunting blues as a 39 mage with fire pet.. and I DID get a Star Ruby.. Boy was I pleasantly surprised when I showed it to a vendor..
I fought dozens of these near the zone to Twilight Sea, and I never saw any of them cast. Although they scowl and KICK (believe it or not), they seem to be more closely related to their plant nature than one might expect. I did the paladin solo technique of rooting my foe and regenerating while meditating, and during this time I noticed the higher regeneration rate on this plant; it was a nice touch on the part of the designers to include a high regrowth rate on a plant. My opinion is that they are more of a sunflower.
