These shadowknights come complete with the mini-pet, and the ability to harmtouch for a tidy sum of damage.

They drop the Shadowknight planar armour.

Bards Want the WARRIORS not the Knights

I have been hunting in Fear for 1.5 days now and finally saw that the drop table does not include the bard whip on the Knight (Amygdalan Tendril) - I never saw one - killed a WARRIOR and got a whip right away (and of course body melted JUST as my baby bard got to it =/ - but at least now I know to hunt the Warriors and not the Knights.

Someone said the knights can drop them - but in killing DOZENS of them (multi-box 69 necro and 71 druid - so we basically cleared most of Fear) - I never saw a single whip.

If you a Bard - Track the Warriors.

Nethor.

Yes they have a very Lovecraftian look. It's part of the theme of the zone. I like the Amygdalan.

these guys seemed much more harder than the warriors. all of them coned red but 1 or 2 at lvl 48, so they must be lvl 51 and 52 only. they seem to have a lot of MR FR.
Mind Flayer EQ Version?
# Feb 17 2002 at 2:37 PM Rating: Default
From the head, I would guess that they are supposed to be mind flayers? Just a little info, mind flayers are alien caster type in the good old D&D world. They have squid looking heads and are powerful casters. Usually they associate with evil eyes as well. But they are quite fragile and slender, therefore they can't be melee type.

Their head is more like a nautilus than a mind flayer as they have a big shell on the back.

Umbral Armour

Go get some armour from Iceclad.

Royal Frosted stuff...far superior, and easier to get.

Looks cooler too.

RVF drops in Icewall Keep (aka thurgain B) which is accesed through thurg. Drops off of the guards. One 50+ group can do the sentries but to get to the watchers and such which drop the bp/greaves, you will need a party about equivilant to what it takes for fear.

I joined a fear raid pretty late...only part of the temple was left. I was the only SK left on the raid and hoping the knights would drop some armor. The last mob left was an amy knight who dropped umbral BP...yippee!

Ok, in the last 3 fear raids I've been on, these cheap mobs haven't dropped a single piece of Umbral. I am most perplexed! Did the last patch break their drops or something?
Dungeons and Dragons

Looks like and Illithid (mindflayer) from Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. But of course, alot of people have no idea what im talking about because too many treat this game as a frist person shooter, im bigger and badder, phat lewts, im level 60 in a week 'cause i get powerleveled type of game.

Temple
# Apr 04 2001 at 1:28 PM Rating: Decent
The majority of the amy knights are located in the temple. Which is a problem because if you are the only SK on a fear raid(which you usually are), it is hard to convince the raid party to take all of those HT's to take out the temple. Unless someone wants one of the named dudes that spawns in there also or if you are planning on killing CT.
So the temple is always done last, and people always start leaving before it is done. "I got my stuff, so I'm outta here".

I just finished a Fear raid last night. I was one of 8 SK's on the raid, and we pretty much cleared the zone (CT wasn't up, fortunately, as we weren't ready for him). We dropped 2 of the 3 named Golems, and killed between 6 and 10 Amy Knights (I wasn't there for the start, so I don't know exact figure). Strangely, not ONE piece of Umbral dropped. I was very disappointed, but it was a great raid otherwise.

Fortunately, there are usually a couple of these things around the named golems too (Fright, Terror, Dread), which have interesting items for a decent number of the classes and thus provide some motivation to fight a few Amys.

I'd say the lack of SKs on a Fear raid is both very perplexing and a positive note for the SKs that do go. On my last Fear raid, I was the only SK present and I picked up 5 pieces of Umbral in the 8 hours I was there. One more raid like that, and I should have a full set. =) I think SKs have a better chance of getting items on a Fear raid than most of the other classes, do to our scarcity and the fact that there seem to be more Amys in the zone than a lot of the other mob-types. It's unfortunate for paladins and necros, but good for us.

are shadowknights. Some are warriors. I was able to figure this out because some didn't have pets, and also did not have any mana for theft of thought to steal.
