DA are usually lvl 55, but always blue to me at lvl 56. Can be slowed, even by 52 shammy with some effort. Tried rooting him 13 times in one battle, always resisted. He hits fast and hard. Lvl 58 war had to be chealed 3 times when our shammy went LD and the DA wasnt slowed. Armor drops are rare, 1 in 15 or so maybe 1 in 20. They cannot see thru invis so u can run right by him invis, however if u zone into umbral and can see the tunnel out into the zone its probably too late and hes already agroed u... no lie. Unless someone has killed it, there is always one DA up at the end of the tunnel. Dont be fooled by the cool looking weapons these guys wield, they are junk 6/27 etc. Have seen some high lvl spells drop off em though, lvl 56+. He casts dooming darkness too, which is slow and major movement restiction... almost as bad as being rooted. One group can take one DA... maybe 2 if your really good. 3 DA.... zone or die and dont try to charm em chanters or u will be trying to figure out how much exp u got back from your rez :)
Under lvl 50 Dark Assassin Armor Stats
# Jan 09 2002 at 11:40 AM Rating: Excellent
I was fortunate enough to loot the dark assassin greaves at lvl 39. There were no other rogues and bards on the raid I was on.

I am now lvl 40, and at both levels the stats are as follows:

AC12 (reduced from 15)
STR4 (reduced from 5)
DEX4 (reduced from 5)
STA8 (reduced from 10)
+1 to all resists (surprise!)

It only showed the AC change when I viewed the item, not the others. I was not able to compute the change to hp since hp goes up when STA goes up, and I was too lazy to figure out another way. Not as important as the others anyway.

I'm jumping to conclusions here, but it appears that the effective stats follow this equation:
(char lvl / 50) * the stat (probably rounded).

(40/50) * 15 = 12

I'll keep you updated as I continue leveling.

They also drop a Rog/Brd Bracer similar to the Woven Shadow bracer that drops on Hate. The Ac is 10 (1 higher than Woven) but the stats are a bit less. IMHO i think Rogs should stick to the Woven for better stats..

Dark Assassin Chestplate confirmed

Dropped for us tonight off a Dark Assassin. As noted above, they are completely unmezzable, even by lvl 59 mezz (rapture). I haven't tried to charm one of these yet but I'm sure you can as most mobs I've come across that are unmezzable are easily charmable...and what a pet that'd be! They also cast dooming darkness, even though they're rogues.

I've noticed a few cross classes on luclin. These look to be necro/rogue, and the hooded guys in Maidens eye seem to be SK/Cleric (they HT and can CH). It's crazy :P

They are not duel class. They are rogues that Proc Darkness. As for the ones in Maidens, there are 2 kinds. One is a cleric and one is a SK. One is KoS and one is not, but they both assist everything in zone anyway.

You are half right. One is a cleric and one is a sk but BOTH are KoS if you have done much hunting in ME. When i first arrived in ME they were indifferent but after a while I became KoS. When invisaed it would appear that one is Kos and one is not but it is really 1 sees invis and other doesn't (which really sucks when running to UP)

Can anyone confirm if these guys actually drop level specific breastplates? I saw on a message board about a breastplate that has "Recommended level of 50" in its description. I looked everwhere I can think of and cannot confirm it actually exists. This link: http://mmo.gameznet.com/eq/new/equipment/lazy/darkassassinchestplate.shtml has an image but I don't think it is a real drop. Besides....what is the point of making something require a level if it is in a 50+ zone and is no drop.

It's Verants way of making items less twinkable. Some people bring their alts and park them at the zone line. If anything drops in a group and no one wants it, they bring their alt over. The stats decrease the further away from 50; some pieces still make nice items in the 40s but for a lvl 1 character, the stats would be bad.

These guys are indeed rogues, able to double backstab (ugh) unmezzable and unsnareable, but can be slowed. Con yellow for the most part to a 54, couple near zone con blue. For the most part an easy zone so long as you are careful and have 3 solid groups for best results.
