34 Mage and 32 Bst took him down ... temp on pets and bst ... resisted lower fire spells but cinders bolt landed 2 for max damage and once for 25% damage .... pets and bst melee'd out rest
lol u guys suck hahaha had three 42 warrior 41 ench and 39 cleric pulled him with 4 others all went down with ease did one heal the entire time and that was before the mezzs hit nothing much to talk about droped junk
yea, i first saw this at lvl 47 with my bst. only my own buffs, no KEI, no temp...nothing. I decided to med to full mana, and then fight. The fight was going well, once i got to 50% hp, i backed out, healed myself, healed my pet, and joined again. i had him down to 13% and i was at 20%, and then i went LD...and died. I came back, no rez, and slaughtered him as revenge. i had 40% hp and about 20%mana left after the fight.
Took him out solo today @ 44... Lets see Pet died in 2 hits... Nothing new there.. I had 112 MR and still got spun 3 times. IMMUNE to fear.. cant kite... HUess all that was left was go toe to toe and hope that taps outlasted his hp. Which they did. I was at 90hp (3%)and 1%mana when he died. Got trained be a little gnome magician that tryied to single from the next room.. Doesn't anyone do reaserch.. you cant single that room.
been soloing as a BL in here since early 40's. only saw this guy for the first time the other day at 45. took him easy peasy with a 51 enc and another guys for backup (the enc was being PL'dish so he could get his KEI) anyways seen him 2times since then and solo'd him. with a kei hes easy peasy just let pet tank and dot and nuke him.
jumped in the other day when i inadvertently got an add and he almost took me out at 46 (this was about 1day after i first saw him) got me with that horrible spin.
my advice is if you cant sit back for a while soloing this mob then you will probably need a tank or partner if you're anything lower than 46 or 47
Took this guy also several times while exping in echo caverns, at lvl 44 as an enchanter, he has killed me once though. This guy imo is tougher than fireclaw. He casts a nasty stun, which left me dead one time. The only good thing about him is once tashed he is rootable. He has incredibly high MR, resisting slow several times. I sent a charmed pet at him, sometimes took 2 charmed pets. Very tough mob, I don't like him. He drops nothing apart from the usual fungal fiend stuff. What is the purpose of this mob apart from cause hell to those that fight him? if there was a reward, some sort of loot surely for such a tough mob.
I am a level 47 shaman, fought him at level 45 was able to take him, left with 1bub of health and no mana, just dropped what the other fungus fiends drop, not much, but fun to fight.
IMHO something wrong with the idea that a 49 Pally with 4800hp (based buffed x2 for LoH) can't take a high 30s mob--but hey, welcome to Luclin.
Anyhow, I can't seem to quite handle this guy on my own w/ 950-ish AC buffed.
Any other helper though and it's a done deal.
Oh, and how gratifying to kill this one, blowing LoH and receiving loot worth zip. Welcome to this side of Echo. (Other side, in 20's, is pretty good loot for level off of outcasts, etc).
Fireclaw is even harder, by the way. Hits faster, frequent 75hp DD and feels like he has more HP. Duo'd FC with a 48 SK the other night and he needed my LoH but we got him.
And yes, they do pop together. I had the happy fortune of inadvertently pulling them both last night. Not sure the Haven Defender appreciated getting pistol whipped on my way back to SH...
I have now fought Trillcor 3 times and in the 3 times I died 1 time. He is Dark Blue to me at lvl 45 and he casted a stun on me that spun me around for about 8 to 10 sec. If you can survive this and kill the other 2 fungal fiends then all it will take to get Trillcor down is doting him 5 times with Drifting Death. Yes it does take alot of time but it will give you some time to med back up to cast it again. I have been soloing them for about 1 lvl now and never seen fireclaw yet.
I camped this room many hours and when I could take out Trillicor along with the rest of the room Mobs, Fireclaw spawned more often than when I camped and wasn't able to take him out too. Then too, I have seen Fireclaw spawn up in the room next to the Taskmaster too so whaddya know. But Fireclaw does spawn a lot more when you kill this creepy little dude.
Trillicor is fun if you have a little help but I have never even gotten a drop from killing him. At least killing the Fireclaw and Taskmaster yields something more than exp. Unless you just like that little spin ride he will send you on a few times, hehe.
I have solo'd this critter a few times, and taken it in groups. Light green to me at 54. It has a spell that will stun/spin you. Its loot has either been nothing or the same junk items that the regular fungal fiends drop.
A 44 warrior and my 48 paladin took on this named Fungal Fiend. He was no twit, to be sure. We both lost a big chunk of health bringing him down. One kill resulted in nothing to loot; however, he's still kind of fun for a challenge. He hits pretty hard (over 100 methinks); he seems to have some type of attack proc, but I didn't see the result since it was resisted. He popped in place of one of the three Fungal Fiends which spawn in the big cavern next to the zone to The Deep.
Well, after a million times, he DID drop some junk. (2) Razor Fungus Spores (snack, +5str, +5stam, -5char)
They could just be eatten..no slots to equip. O wells, so much for ubber drops. As a 33 druid in a group, it wasn't hard, unlike the rest of Luclin, these things seem abnormally UNresisant! Perhaps the Echanter with Tashan had something to do with it, hehe.
No other drops yet as far as I know, not even minor ones. Fun to kill, just don't expect anything other than EXP! Peace

Posted:Apr 22 2002 at 12:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Okay no drops yet, i have hunted here from about 42 - 46, killed him about 8 times. This guy reminds me a lot of frenzy. Hard to kill, tons of hp....and possibly a sweet rare drop?
He spawned and conned even to a 39 Necro in my group. You CAN darkness him but not fear. He hit me and I spun around for 10 seconds. That was nasty. He resisted most spell except for the lifetaps.
Just thumped him in between patches, nothing yet. Maybe after the next patch (goin on right now) he'll be enabled to drop something interesting. Then again, maybe not.
He is snarable w/ darkness... just did it 3 times tonite. rest about spells is true. i've seen him and FC up at the same time, but only in big room neer The Deep zone line. is pretty resistant to my poison / disease based dot's (48 necro) so i just use darkness and asystole and kite him around the corner... try to root/dot as best i can, whatever it takes... usually takes about 3 - 4 asystoles so that puts his hps in the 2-3k range, and he hits pretty hard and fast... deffinitely not worth the time or effort to kill this punk, only reason i ever do is if he's in the way. hope that helps!
