They don't seem to be resistant to any particular damage or type. Magic based spells generally stuck after Tashania from 46th Enchanter(me) and Malosi from 50th shaman. The other 3 in the group 50-53rd Druid, Cleric, Ranger. The Shadel Bandits hit for 140's as a minimum as I well know and top out at 171. Guesstamation by our damage output would be a few over 10k hps. The nearby lookouts closer to 7-8k hps. They took everything they should as if they had standard resists. Recommend the charm tactic if you have a Bard or a 53d Enchanter with Agacerie. Bard is less likely to die on a failure though they do take the stun line well. The new lull upgrades may make single pulling possible. No harmony in FG, indoor zone.
Beware the Lotus while your there! It's indifferent, but looked like a good opening target. (our test for zone basically) Took longer than the bandits, summoned and cast magic based 450DD's. I stun tagged it mostly when it cast, but it took over 5minutes to finish it even with 5DoT's running the whole time, constant nukes, and Aeliel the tanking Ranger hitting it for 120+ average damage a second.
Lovely place. No rings, but got a spell and only killed 2 of us when we got a pop with the usual two we pulled at a time. Took us a while to find Balroger's body since he looked like a dead giant mushroom. Those little mushrooms are interesting.. heh. Have fun!

Yes i have been in an ae group tha pulled 4 of these. They died last but they died and we didnt. They give out a good amount of xp. No rings off of the lot of em though.
easy camp
# Jan 26 2002 at 4:26 PM Rating: Default
shaman shaman monk bard druid took this camp. was simple (i was the bard). The high shaman just slowed them, and I charmed the adds, and we were set. definatley not as hard as you guys say.
Not easy!

Was camping these guys with a full group of low 50s (war sk pal wiz clr dru) and we had to med after each one because they were hitting the war so hard. And that was with FD pulling and getting a single every time. It got a little quicker once we started to fear kite them on the floor, but we still had to med after every other one. They conned even to me at 51, so perhaps we were just too low for this camp. No deaths, but there was too much downtime and zero loot.
easy for AE group
# Jun 03 2002 at 6:55 AM Rating: Default
dont try to single pull bring 4 or 5 of them with 2 chanter and a some AE damage dealer (mag druid wiz) those bandit are easy kill. we got 2 ring for now but gona kill some more.
Rogue Faction
# Dec 31 2001 at 7:12 PM Rating: Default
If you are a rogue DO NOT kill these guys, it will result in bad faction for rogue guilds on SoL. I was in a group in FG one night and thought it could be fun to hunt these guys when our Shammy told me that one of his guild mates did so and lowered his faction to the rogue guilds. So be warned...

Solable but risky pulling
# Dec 28 2001 at 3:29 AM Rating: Default
I can manage solo these guys easy; the toughest part is pulling smart and picking apart the camp on first breakup. Mind you, I'm also level 60, so that might have something to do with it. If you go there expecting an easy camp, go somewhere else, easy it ain't. Pulls of at least 2 are to be expected.

Is the Shimering Rockfiends of the Grey, equal in difficulty, other than the pulling?
hehe, cause rockfiends you don't need to pull..they pull you
Awesome ring

Verant nerfed the drop rate on the Shadel Bandit Ring, that's what they drop btw. Used to be a really common drop, now it's a bit more rare. Ring is 6ac 55hp 55mana 10disease 5cold. I bought mine for 1k exactly, don't believe people that say it's worth 5-7k. Many also say it's the 3rd or 4th best caster ring in the game. I just love the resists and hp/mana. I'd wear it over my 6ac/65hp ring anyday. BTW these guys are hard as hell.

Dude, you obviously don't know how a wizard hunts. If we know what we are doing, we don't get hit!

These are good quadding mobs, but you will want to wait till your upper 50s and have the mana pool (>3400) to burn down their hit points.
not lvl 46

how many HP/Magic Resist ?
can a wiz 54 solo one (let's suppose you can pull only one)?
is there a way to break their camp ?
what is a good group composition to kill/farm them ?
Can they run at Jboot speed ?
would an AE group exterminate their camp easily ?

Um AOE groups rule fungus, 3 Mage/Wizzie + Chanter, Bard, Cleric will rip through this zone and can clear 4 camps of these at a time, these guys are cheese...

Lety me put it this way: Without a full group with a chanter attempting to solo these guys will result in colorful words and phrases and a few broken keys on the keyboard.

I hunt Fungus Grove regularly and these guys hit hard (some hits as high as 175)and fast (like they had AQ haste) and seem to have a ton of HP. If you dont have someone to snare these guys will run back to camp and aggro his buddies and provide some fast deaths.

Without an enchanter to help with crowd control this would result in a record fast death. Pull one get up to 4 or 5 adds. Best my monk could do was pull no less then two at a time.

Tank, Tank, RNG/DRu, Chanter, cleric, and one more(preferable wizard, shammy, or another damage dealer) seems good. Up to you but that is my suggestion. Minimum tank, chanter, cleric, dru/rng + 2 others of your choice. Full group gives best odds for survival.

I think he was looking at the snare factor on these guys. Most people think druid / ranger, forgetting that sk / necro have even better snares. And I am one to talk.... i have both =)

>how many HP/Magic Resist ?

Dunno, but they double hit for 150's FAST

>can a wiz 54 solo one (let's suppose you can pull only one)?

HAHAHAHAHA

>is there a way to break their camp ?

No, we had a 60 rogue pull the camp and every time all of them added. With the right group, that's no problem, just have a chanty mez them all and take em out one by one.

>what is a good group composition to kill/farm them ?

Group of 6, preferably with chanter, 3 to 4 damage dealers + cleric

>Can they run at Jboot speed ?

Fungus Grove is an indoor zone.

>would an AE group exterminate their camp easily?

Nope.

You couldn't be more wrong saying 'nope' to the question if ae group could take them. Like respond post said, 2 60 enc's work wonders with their stun and the rest is just nuking and medding for next pull. Pull's consisting of 8 bandits and 8 shrooms on 1 pull was the norm and experience was godly, so AE group imo is actually the best way to farm them for rings (which seem to drop 1/25 of the time)

That is not correct, we were able to AE these with ease. Bit more resistent then say dregs, but nothing 2 decent encs should have trouble with.
