Hello all!! This my first post here, so I do believe I will make it good.
Everytime I ask someone "can a paladin solo here?" they give me some half ***** answer of "HAHA!! PALADIN!?!?! SOLO!?!?! HAHAHAH!!!"
But that my friends is NOT true!!
I have been hunting the tribals around the maidens eye zone for a couple of nights now, on Cazic-thule server, and it is great exp. I have solod there for longer...so one night, I was running along, and one of the gatherers agroed on me...typically i would just run to a zone or something like that cause I thought "Im a paladin, I cant solo". Well that night, was an epiphiny..I soloed it, and schooled it thouroughly...These are my tactics for soloing the gatherers:
-ALWAYS HAVE IT ROOTED...if it is rooted, it means you have complete control under the situation...CONTROL IS VICTORY...always still cool...not panicy.
-When you see your self gettin kinda low on health, just back on up while its rooted, and heal yourself...TA DA..watch as it casts feeble nukes and DoTs..just point and laugh at him..even shoot a few arrows at him!!
-This root/heal method works well best with C3...
-you can handle adds with root as well. Just led the add away from you, flash of light it..root it..than go back to fighting the first rooted mob..heal..etc...BUT KEEP IT ROOTED.
I am a 37 paladin...and I am enjoying these thouroughly.blocks of acryilia always make my day bright....hehe..

Was at the Grieg's End zone with 2 couples of us, myself a 37 Ranger with my sweetie a 37 Druid and another couple pair of Ranger and Druid, 45 and 49,respectively and had a great old time playing take down with these guys.
And what do I come to find? Don't know about the lookouts, nor any of the other 'tribal' mobs, but these gatherer guys are RANGERS! They hit and kick, dual wield and sometimes double hit like other melee classes, but the spells I was getting hit with, Ignite, Stinging Swarm, Ensnaring Root, and SNARE! All of these are in MY ******* of spells. The first time I got hit with Stinging Swarm I thought I had dotted myself by accident. But NOOOOOOOO! Saw the lightshow coming off one of these puppies and the revelation was quite clear; I was dealing death to a distant class brother! Didn't stop me from doing them in, but it was a kick to see that this was my OWN class I was fighting. Most of the time it's warriors, sometimes shadownights or any of the caster classes who are the mobs, but this was such a joy to finally be fighting my own class, at last!
By the way, they WERE relatively easy to take down, since they con to 34, but if you're foolish as I was at one point, they can and will swarm you.
P.S. They have a cute little dance they do for your benefit, just before they cast a spell or just before they give up the ghost; long arms stretched out to the sides, a lithe, little twisting of their back to you, and a shake of their behinds in your direction to show you what they really think of YOU! Funny as hell to watch! While you're killing them, that is.

I've been hunting these things for 2 levels now, and i've seen every single thing they drop.
They drop:
Polished steel ulaks (can go for upwards of 200pp)
Heavy iron ulaks (worth around 10pp)
Multiple crappy 1hs, that look like jawbones(the one in the pic)
Multiple quest jewels. such as moon jewel.(75-100)
Jagged stone battle ax. (crap)
A 9/28 no drop hammer
They drop:

You havent seen everything these drop, cause they drop small blocks of acrylia ore, and blocks of acrylia ore. The blocks sell for 25pp at vendors, and make fighting these much more worthwhile. Also the Polished Steel Ulak isnt that rare of a drop, i've looted 8 of em after killing about 30 of these guys. The ratio seems to be 3 heavy iron to 1 polished steel. In addition, these are great exp at lvl 35 and above, fairly easy kills and they are easy to find. Just some advice, get chloroplast and clarity and you can drop these things one after another. Oh, and the hammer is 8/26 not 9/28.

With pumped up CHA and good faction (about 129 and warm) I was getting near 40pp for the blocks. If you can carry them, always loot them because they make up for the low-quality loot you get from camping here.

Don't forget those Sambata Boulders either :)Some form of rather large throwing weapon it seems, for Trolls, Ogres and Babbies.
They are the only races able to lift the things - around 14 in weight each - and they are STACKABLE !?!?!
The rudest throwing item I've yet seen in the game . . . hehehe, makes me fancy a Babby alt :)

Got a Shaman BL only helm no drop last night off this guy. Stats where 11ac 4wisdom 4str 4svd. I thought it was ice enough i put it on, it has the crappy helm look that is like a baseball cap with fonzie like side burns

I got 2 on my cleric, 9/27 3 str, wis and some other stuff, primary, secondary, h2h, monk beastlord, i would like to add that these items can't be picked up when dropped, IE i dropped it on ground to quick get on my monk and pick it up, i couldn't pick it up on either my monk or cleric, i asked around and they said that it was bugged and once dropped, it can't be picked up. It can be traded tho, so get a transfer to your lower level monk or beastlord and turn fastdrop off!!!!!1

fought these guys for a while. Had an astral jewel drop. What is it for?

Gatherers drop polished steel ulak hth 9/27 some stats primary/secondary. seems to be a rare drop. 3 dropped out of 30 or 40 that we killed. The Heavy steel was more common.

and dd's that don't hit too hard that hit for up to 120 on me but I have a little resistance to spells.
they have maybe 2k hp or less very easy to kill
rooted casted dot on him then ran out of his casting range and watched him fall didn't drop **** though. oh well my friend didn't die so it's all good. I fought it by the maiden zone.

I was fighting these at the zone for griegs end and i noticed if i outran them by too far on the pull they turned round and fetched thier mates which wasnt nice
They also cast some kind of spell which does up to 35 points of damage that ive seen and they hit for up to about 80.
Still fighting so will post more as i go

They have a variety of weapons going from rusty equive to a nice moonk and bst weapon with wis etc on it.
Ok these are the weapons i have got so far
Jagged Stone Battle axe (looks like an axe in his hand)
