Anyone know what the shaded armour of this is for? Its only low ac, like ToV quest pieces, so it most likely is for some quest.

It's used to make the shaded hide armor (via tailoring).
Other Components:
Mind Worm Hide (drops in Akheva, off mind worms)
Shaded Silk Thread (tailored from 2 shadeling silks)
Combine the shaded armor with the right number of hides and threads to get that type of shaded hide armor.
Shaded Hide Gorget (1 hide, 1 thread)
Shaded Hide Belt (1 hide, 1 thread)
Shaded Hide Mask (1 hide, 1 thread)
Shaded Hide Gloves (2 hides, 1 thread)

How hard are these to solo or how many people around lvl 53 would it take to get centi or otehr items that drop off these mobs.

These would be very tough to solo, unless you can reliably stun them, or fear them.
They start out the attack with a HT for about 700-800 dmg, and then they complete heal themselves. We had one CH itself 3 times last night. Some also have a skeleton pet, which is pretty weak(900 or so HP), but still a problem to deal with. They also have I would guess roughly 7000 HP.
We killed a few of them, and nothing dropped.

The same mob will either ht ot ch, not both.
I've soloed a couple of these, sk and cleric version. Eating an ht is not so bad, torpor compensates. Cleric mob is trickier because of chain dd. Also, when you're soloing a cleric xi as a shaman, he won't ch because by the time he's low on health, he would have wasted all his mana nuking you.
Thank god these mobs don't gate though.

Cleric version of this Mob Dropped Ethereial Ring ( earing ) 20ac 8 wis 8 int 50 mana 5 sv All resists All/All. Very excited i won the Roll... 10% chance im wrong about this there were 3 mobs we downed along with Xi. When servers are back up Will Submit the screenshot of it. All in all the drops from this guys camp where we were seeing him were Spectacular No drop wis/int w/Resists items. Heard tell of 20 Wis/int Gaunts that drop off the same camp this is deffinitly Better then trying to win the roll in POH for my Ethereial Cleric Armor. =)

Roll for PoH armor? any such raids ive seen/been on the raid leader (or class list holder) set up a loot order for each item at the beginning.

I find its always helpful to listen a bit before you open your mouth... those feet never taste good ;).
the Xi Vuis can be up to level 56. From what I've been able to determine they come in a variety of Cleric, Warrior and SK's. The SK's HT for anywhere from 700 to 731 and like to use their fear spells.
The Xi Xaui are lower level. They are roughly 49-51 so I think that's where ya get the level from ont his page.
(Note: Today I actually found a yellow Xi Xaui, so they can be up to maybe even 56, nobody was able to confirm the lvl as I was highest lvl)
The Xi Vuis have had some very nice drops. So far I've seen:
12/24 1hs +5mr/dr/pr/cr -5fr 8.0 wt
10/22 1hb same stats as above
20ac 15str/wis 2.0 wt
12ac 25mana 5str/cr/fr 15mr (wt unsure)
So you can see, these guys have some pretty badass drops. Oh, and the armor was ND, but the weapons were not.
The quad arm bastards are 57+ and DOUBLE harmtouch for 911. They are also a variety of different casters that I've seen. I've seen cleric types and SK types. (Both HT'd me, go figure.)
one other thing, Imp form is HUGE for helping to pull. No imp form = kos to most everything. Imp form = not kos to hood's, quad's, little brainy guys, and the shadow wolves. SO you just have to worry about the mostly lvl 56 brain biters, and the ravenous beasts and the bats.
Also the Coltere guys (not sure if that's spelled correctly) are on oppposing faction as the brutes near the dawn zone. Might be nice to know if you're ever in a jam ;)

From what I've seen, and I've spent a lot of time in Maidens myself, Xi Vius can only be sk or cleric, not warrior. Either on pulls I eat HT or get struck down by the wrath of gods or whatever (cleric dd).
The 4 arm mobs, if they're sk, will only ht you once, I know this for a fact because I've even soloed a level 58 version. But each one will only ht you once unless I missed the extra ht which woulda prolly brought my life bar down to like a bub.
In any case, if you're puller of Xi's, I suggest you're high level and have around 200+ mr buffed. I don't like ht's from the sk version of Xi's, but I hate even more being chain nuked sometimes for 400-600. And for some reason, cleric dd's, even though based on magic, have much less resists, and with 140 mr unbuffed at 60, sometimes a nuke lands for 10 but others 500, and ya gotta be extremly careful. You gotta love torpor tho XD

There are many of these, they're as common as the Umbrous Toilers.. Also Xi Xaui as well. You probably ran into a Shadowknight Xi Vius, they harm-touch for 700 pts, and hit around 130.

Careful of this guy. My friends and I were out when he was up. They had just moved to pull spot and I was following up behind. We knew he was up in the zone, but was quite a ways away, as far as we could tell. I was in Bear Form and he pounced on me and killed me in 1 hit -- no dmg message (1100 hp approx at lvl 53). Kind of reminds me of the mob in Great Divide. I'm guessing, but cannot verify, that he doesn't like bears:)
