mob stays at max range and just mana drains you. does not melee. pets say that this is not a legal target and will not engage. -PoFear.
Ran across one in Erud's Crossing as well. It had low amount of hit points.

I have spent a LOT of time in Lava in the past and never saw one. Ran into one today. Indeed they are very low. Green to 29 and a 9 point hit from an enchanter's dagger took it to 50% health :-) Another 14 and it was dead.
i don't know about the other ones, but if you get these as adds you need to deal with em fast(pof ones) they mana sieve literally about once every 2 secs and that will empty your mana pretty quick..
Saw this in amazement on kerra isle aka Erud's Crossing. It con'd green with my 19the NEC. Dropped 3 items few has seen - Flame of Vox, Essence of Raenthe, and Words of Descrying
i see this mob 2 times near Najena first time i think it was a pet from some casters but second time i con them was blue to me at lvl14 or 15. so i trie to kill it i hit and he died no loot. i think the spell he cast is a mana steal or so. they cast it very fast but nothing happend to my little twink war. :)

There must be something about these mobs.... possibly like lesser spirits... they just appear sometimes outa no where.. sometimes after killing certain mobs those spawn, but i dunno - perhaps they are part of a myth that must be told somewhere. This is a mysterious thing lol

I just killed this creature in Erud's crossing. I am a level 13 wizard, and I killed it without any problems. It dropped Tasarin Grimoire pg. 375. Is there anything I can do with this item?

I killed one in lavastorm in one cast with my lvl 15 enchanter, it dropped a grimoire (nili something) It's for enchanter research, give/sell/whatever to one

Yes I have seen it in Lavastorm...was running to Sol B the other night and ran by this. Conned it...GTM and scowling...I thought hey what the hell...
I cast Force on in...died. What a wuss. Dropped Words of the Psyche and some change.

Dropped FOUR research pages. I don't know what level they were, but I've never seen anything drop more than a single page. These things seem to "blink", so keep up See Invis if you want to hunt them.

I slew one of these creatures in Lavastorm. It conned green and took only one smite. Dropped Words of Dark Paths.

I have never been to Lavastorm or have i ever seen a bleeder but it is quite possible that stuff from the planes can spawn in a normal zone. I plan on heading to lavastorm soon but i'm checking it out here first and so far everything seems to be cool. I am not a newbie but i have many low lvl characters and i really hate it when people say that newbies are STUPID!!

I saw 2 in Lavastorm yesterday (11/16). And I am not a stupid newbie. I have seen them on other occasions as well and they have always conned green to me. Spirit Tap killed them each time.

well i guess that is were i am going to hunt in a bit i want some cash cus i mean that rune for ice commet sells for like 1k to players and i heard lavastorm good for my level.

The rune that drops in LS is for the runescale cloak, a low to mid lvl wiz only cloak. The runes are NO DROP which means you can't sell them.
The runes for Ice Comet are the runes of Frost and Astral, which are not found in ls at any time as they drop off 49 to 55 mobs. And no wizard would ever pay 1k for any rune unless he/she were an idiot as the spell itself sells commonly for about 100pp.

I killed one of these in lava yesterday all i did was stinging swarm and immdiatly after that hit it 1 time for 7 dmg and it died

I went up to one hangin around the najena entrance and whacked it for 28 and it died, dropped 2 runes and 2 words, nice loot for something that one of those snakes you hunted at level 1 could take out eh?
I saw one one more time, on the other side of Najena entrance (hehe). I decided to see just how many hps it had and whacked it with disease cloud. That brought it down like half health. It responded with this NASTY mana drain spell that they punch with delay ~5 (really really fast) So I went up and whacked it. It dropped just as good loot this time too. This damn thing would be hell for a wizzie or anything else who depends entirely on spells with no weapons although ANYONE with some crappy semblance of a weapon could kill this thing. It doesnt run at all, it just SPINS there and drains the hell outta ya. So why isnt everyone whos ever hunted in Lavastorm plumb rich? They're RARE as hell. I have spent about two days /played in there and have only seen two.

The one in LS mtns is low, less then 50 hp. It randomly drops research components for all caster classes, rarely they can be components for 40+ spells. I know i have got a nilitims(sp?) writ, which was for a enchanters lvl 44 spell

I killed one after hiting it for 42 damage, dropped a rune of the astral for ice comet and super nova

Yup, they definitely appear on the island also. (This is the island in Erud's Crossing.) I've only seen them when there were a lot of people killing everything around, so it may be that they have a placeholder which is seldom killed. They are wimpy and don't give xp if you're over 12 or so. But they do drop words and runes.

I saw one of these in lavastorm when I was a L13 necro I saw it once so it must be very rare, it conned green to me,so I attacked it, it can only drain my mana and two hits from my pet killed it dropped a Nilitim's grimoire pg449 or somethin' like that
