Spawning A ShikNar Hatchling

I have come to the conclusion that the spawning of A ShikNar Hatchling is just one of several “statements” that occur in the zone, to my experience in the channels running here and there and round about.

Other statements: “The ceaseless glare of the sun makes you shield your eyes.”; “The sky seems unusually dark to the north.”; “The clatter of loose gravel attracts your attention. Is something up there?”; “The area is much warmer than you would expect.”

The one I want is “A ShikNar Egg Pod cracks open, releasing hungry hatchlings!”.

they randomly spawn all around the zone just walk around killing the packs of them, i got over 3 blue in killing 2 packs in about 15min, but watch out these things are super fast! and the adds from a stonegrabber or hopper could make it a bit hectic, other than that these things kick *** for exp!
Made for Wiz PB's

Heh, these things are made for PB nukes. On the way to Ssra Temple our cleric sends out that he's got about 20 of them on him. I told him to run to me while I loaded up Winds of Gelid (1200pt dd PB) and no more pesky chiggers.

Unfortunately, I found out later they drop chitterling barbs, which I use for Tinkering.
awesome little buggers

ran in to these guys last night. spawned between 6 and 8 little guys. As long as they are on level ground they are easy to handle. Just a couple mezzes and I was up a blue in a half plus at 44 in about 3 min. If only I can find a steady spawn or at least track down the trigger points :)

you're supposed to post BEFORE hitting the crack pipe genius.
These things are great!

They are light blue cons at 53, they give exp. They don't hit for more then 50, and usually hit for 10's, and they don't have more then 1k hp... the only problem is they are triggered as a trap and I believe only 2 spawns of these guys are up at any one time in the zone, which means you have to kill them, trigger them somewhere and kill those, if you have track, that shouldn't be a problem though.

Maybe you can reactivate the trap several times, because myself and another monk encounter quite a sum of these boys in a ditch (i think 10). Incredibly fast exp at 51, plus took about 15 seconds to kill, hehe. 57 monk friend said they were light blue to him and gave nice exp too. I really wish we could've found the way to spawn them. Anyone know how?

Ran through Mons Letalis on the way to The Grey on the off chance of meeting some of these guys (after Chitterling Barbs for some Tinkering) and found a couple of areas where they spawned in groups of about 8. One was in the cavern coming from Marus Seru and the other was near The Grey zone. Gave nice XP at 56 as they have few HPs and don't hit hard but then couldn't find any for ages. Would love to know how to get them to spawn regularly.

They aggro

The adult bugs (ShikNar Warriors etc.) wont aggro if you have good faction, but these little ones will. What starts out as a mosquito-like nusiance can quickly become a deadly swarm. IMO they aren't worth the headache to hunt.

These things sit behind boulders in groups of like 5 and run fast as SoW...be careful if you're walkin through this zone, cuz if you aggro these, you might bet unwillingly getting a TL back to bind point...
