Okay, SOE, you got me.

My buddy and I have camped the golems at the temple in an effort to loot the jawbone for going on about 40 hours now. I think we've finally decided that it's not worth it. It would be a nice item for me, but I could have gained a couple of levels in the time we've spent trying to get it to drop and it isn't THAT good. I have no real insight as to how to make the Shattered spawn, but I figure this might help others to know what they are getting into.

In those 40 hours, we kept all golems around the temple completely cleared and kept ahead of the spawn. We also took a few snakes out of the front two camps to break the monotony. In that time, we saw 4 Shattered Golems, 3 Ancient Servators, and one named snake (Revenant Shiznit or some such thing). The Shattered dropped the gimp *** belt 3 times in about 2 hours. That's right, 1 spawn in about 35 hours and then 3 within just a couple of hours.

I've never seen any of the nameds spawn anywhere but in the front 4 spots. So, maybe clearing the back 3 is a waste of time. /shrug We witnessed the nameds spawning at any of the front four locations, so they don't have just one specific spawn point. However, I'm beginning to doubt that ALL of the golems at the temple are PH's. Again, I dunno for sure.

The challenging/frustrating part of this camp is the constant training into the temple. While, yes, it is the entrance to a highend guild target, the nasty situations are typically brought on by people just being foolish when training to the entrance. If you're gonna train, just head straight into the temple. If you stop and sightsee, you give the mobs time to catch up to you. Since many of these mobs don't have a point to return to, they just sit there at the entrance to the temple indefinitely. Many a time, I have had to aggro them all and train them to another location or my SK buddy will go feign them off somewhere.

I am a 56 SHM and my SK partner is also 56. Expect to catch anywhere from 1 to 3 wurm adds at any given time. These things burrow underground and given the wacked out physics of the game can aggro you even though you don't see them anywhere near you. BTW, those little dust clouds that you see roaming around are them. They are fairly easy to kill, but cannot be rooted nor snared.

To anyone choosing to camp the jawbone: Good luck. Bring plenty of fish scales. Smiley: disappointed

Being in the habit of just heading for this zone upon login, we found ourselves doing this camp for another evening. So, make that 44+ hours now. We were very surprised to see not just one Shattered spawn on the North side of the temple, but through the course of the evening we had 3 spawn on the sides and 2 at the front. So, my previous statement has been proven untrue, these definitely spawn all the way around the temple. After 4 more Shatterds and one Servitor in a relatively short period of time, we are still as of yet Jawboneless. Smiley: oyvey

My friends and I like to group for EXP at the temple lately. Been pulling the west, north, and east (entrance) golems along with the snakes at the north east corner. In the past couple sessions we got the servitor once (dropped the grey flesh pants) and the shattered twice (dropped the grey flesh gloves and the jawbone). I wish you better luck in your future hunts.
Named Can be root cooked
# Jan 13 2003 at 11:43 AM Rating: Good
As a 56th Necro, I have camped in Grey for quite a while. I have fought the Shattered, Ancient Servs and all named Snakes.

I have found that all the named snakes and golems seem to resist Fear 99% of the time. I have only seen fear stick one time on an Ancient Servo.

However, all these Named can be root cooked easily and snared as well. I simply apply Dooming or cascading, PE it and stack DoTs. I hold my pet in reserve pending any problems or low mana from ressists. If you send the pet right away, it will get chewed up. Also, turn Pet Taunt OFF in case you have to aggro kite a bit. Otherwise, root cooking with pet in reserve is the easiest way to solo these guys.

Even with Necro undead slow, the named snakes still chew up both the 53 and 56 level necro pets, unless you do some serious tapping/Shadowbond activity to keep pet hp up. Its easier just to root cook.

Ugh...last night I cleared all the eternals 18 times, thats 126 eternal golems, took 6 hours and I was ahead of the spawns. STILL no shattered lol. In tradition with the other grey camps, they are all horribly long. Ah well.

Meteor dust?
# Jul 15 2002 at 5:27 AM Rating: Decent
I killed this guy today and he dropped the Grey flesh harness and a vial looking thing called "Meteor dust." Anyone know what quest or tradeskill it's for?

Also, I've killed him a total of 5 times and he has dropped gloves 3 times, the harness once and the jawbone once.

The grey flesh tunic can drop off of him, as too the shissar gaunts, the shissar boots, the coif and probably every other peice. Heres a stab at how these things loots tables work. Everyone has the same, except for 1 special rare item. In this guys case, the jawbone. In the Ancient Shissars case the weapon. Not sure of the snakes specials. May be wrong, possibly, but I know this for sure, Tunic can drop off of him, grey flesh pants and gloves can drop off of any of the mobs and the coif can drop off atleast 1 named golem and 1 named snake, probably all of them too. Oh and I've never seen the cloak drop off of anything but the snake, good thing too it's weak, as is alot of the loot. Prized peices are tunic (took a month of solid hunting), weapon (yet to see it), jawbone (3 in a month), arms (once in a month) and boots (once in a month). Grey flesh gloves, pants and shissar cloaks are the disappointments.

I beg to differ on the gloves sir. I don't think any INT caster would say that +6 INT and Affliction Efficiency II is disappointing for a pair of gloves even at level 50.

Just my opinion.

are these statistics on a day to day basis of findings? or are you just going there every so often?
To: druids that want his gloves

You can buy Coldain Skin Gloves, which have nice ac and wis, along with some other stats and they sell for about 3k on Tarew Marr, these gloves sell about that much as well.

This is true, but if you are a role player and allied with the coldian do you really want to be wearing coldian skin gloves to a dinner party in Thurg?

me 55mage and 54 shaman came here for our first time. at first was scared to try and pull singles from front of temple but noproblem singles pulls everytime at lvl 54 + unless a named is up i'd think. We killed him with about 40mana left each. has a ton of hp though and resist fire and cold alot. Just slowed him then had pets tank easy as cookies. o dropped gloves took 2 hours to get him to spawn. rad gloves.
Rarity?
# Jan 16 2002 at 5:58 AM Rating: Default
Me have been camping this golem on and off for a week. I think I have killed about 200 eternal golems or so to make him to spawn. I have only seen 1 shattered golem spawned so far but he only dropped a belt. The stat is 12ac 5sta and some resist (I cant remember exactly). A friend of mine told me she has killed 2 of this golems and he dropped the belt twice. I think the belt is his common drop. But I really wanna know how rare are the spawn rate and the drop rate of the gloves? I am kinda tired of camping em for the gloves and might give up soon.

PS Too bad. This might be the only good upgraded gloves to split paw hide gloves that I can get at lvl 54. (still using split paw gloves atm < )

I would go for Elysian Gloves

Elysian Gloves
MAGIC ITEM NO DROP
Slot: HANDS
AC: 10
STR: +6 DEX: +10 WIS: +3 MANA: +25
SV MAGIC: +5
Recommended level of 50.
WT: 4.0 Size: SMALL
Class: DRU
Race: HUM ELF HEF HFL

Not much wis upgrade but considering you get other pieces of Elysians while camping it makes it more than worth it. I started soloing Elysians at 53. Must be VERY experienced at root rotting. Just snare, root, winged death, arm dot (breath of ro takes too long unless grouped). KEI is an absolute must.

Untrue. Gaunts of Iron Tactics are a nice upgrade with 7str/wis...ez to get at 50 in EW

Completely unrelated topic but... didn't Queequeg come to a horrible end? Or does that show my sci-fi habits a bit too clearly, and my utter lack of knowledge about classic literature...? Eek!

And I guess on topic - right now, my druid would rather 7str/wis to 6wis+20hp/mana and 10 CR. All depends on druids' playing style, and whether said druid finds the grey flesh or gaunts easier to attain (and whether easier matters to them).

Harness of Grey Flesh
MAGIC LORE
AC12 STA5 HP20 MANA20 CR10
WT 3.0
WAR PAL RNG SHD MNK BRD ROG BST

I got the belt as well. It's the only time I've seen it, but I was only there one night. I didnt see the gloves drop.

Eternal Golems are total Chumps and start to go teal at 56. They hit for something weak like 111. Decent XP for a 51-55 group and you can wait for this guy to spawn while grinding.

Killed him today, He is a chump for a group of 55+. We had a 51 rogue, 57mage(me), 60bard, 60 necro, 57 chanter and a cleric, dropped him like every other golem, he was only slightly more resistant, I had to cast malosi Twice instead of once.

Anyway, we got the worst Item he drops, grey flesh harness, 12ac some sta and mana and some sv cold, dont remember exact stats cuz they were very forgetable

Seems it's a face slot item. I would happily give up my Incandescent mask for this which I thought I would have until 55+. Looks like we're off to the grey again!

fyi, has about 5k hps--ph's are the eternal golems around the temple, who have about 3k hps---can harmony pull easily--52 wizard, 51 shammy and I (52 druid) held camp no problem. Just be careful of of damn shissars around the temple. I wasn't able to pull just them--would always get stupid slave adds and have to zone. Campin the 4 spawn in front of temple entrance is your best bet if you're about our level--if you're higher you can clear every golem and shissar spawn around the temple no problem.

It dropped some kind of Grey gloves Had some AMAZING stats considering the level.

Dex 10
Sv Cold 10
i think it also had 6 int and 6 wis
plus some HP and mana.

not sure if i remembered the wis and int numbers correctly... also they are wis and int casters only..

2 groups of High 40s to mid 50's killed him in about 4 seconds, and i'm sure that 1 group could take him out

Edit: Well they added the gloves to the item database I guess that makes this post useless hehe
