My buddy and I have camped the golems at the temple in an effort to loot the jawbone for going on about 40 hours now. I think we've finally decided that it's not worth it. It would be a nice item for me, but I could have gained a couple of levels in the time we've spent trying to get it to drop and it isn't THAT good. I have no real insight as to how to make the Shattered spawn, but I figure this might help others to know what they are getting into.
In those 40 hours, we kept all golems around the temple completely cleared and kept ahead of the spawn. We also took a few snakes out of the front two camps to break the monotony. In that time, we saw 4 Shattered Golems, 3 Ancient Servators, and one named snake (Revenant Shiznit or some such thing). The Shattered dropped the gimp *** belt 3 times in about 2 hours. That's right, 1 spawn in about 35 hours and then 3 within just a couple of hours.
I've never seen any of the nameds spawn anywhere but in the front 4 spots. So, maybe clearing the back 3 is a waste of time. /shrug We witnessed the nameds spawning at any of the front four locations, so they don't have just one specific spawn point. However, I'm beginning to doubt that ALL of the golems at the temple are PH's. Again, I dunno for sure.
The challenging/frustrating part of this camp is the constant training into the temple. While, yes, it is the entrance to a highend guild target, the nasty situations are typically brought on by people just being foolish when training to the entrance. If you're gonna train, just head straight into the temple. If you stop and sightsee, you give the mobs time to catch up to you. Since many of these mobs don't have a point to return to, they just sit there at the entrance to the temple indefinitely. Many a time, I have had to aggro them all and train them to another location or my SK buddy will go feign them off somewhere.
I am a 56 SHM and my SK partner is also 56. Expect to catch anywhere from 1 to 3 wurm adds at any given time. These things burrow underground and given the wacked out physics of the game can aggro you even though you don't see them anywhere near you. BTW, those little dust clouds that you see roaming around are them. They are fairly easy to kill, but cannot be rooted nor snared.
To anyone choosing to camp the jawbone: Good luck. Bring plenty of fish scales.
