Fun fight

63 monk and 63 shaman both boxed by myself with mostly kunark/velious and some luclin gear.

Monk pulled with shissar fang at max ranger, Captain summoned his friends and ran towards monk but his friends just wandered back, no fd needed.

Landed disease based slow after casting malicious decay, could not land Turgur's after malo. Resisted dots and nukes, so stopped trying.

Had only shm buffs on. Dogpet on the giants back. Fight took over 10 minutes but was a lot of fun. Had to mend twice and canni5 3 times.

I beat him with my 65 Druid and 65 Monk dual computing. He is fairly magic resistent so I just have my monk tank and the druid heal. Druid throws on BIG Dots at 60% or so. So it can be done with two characters no problem depending on the mix.

Got it stolen by someone who zoned in and took it from under us... AGAIN

SoE PLEASE for the love of God, lower her respawn time. Two damned years trying to do this quest and two damned years of having it stolen is getting so tiring!

How easily could a 63-65 enc + a 57 druid duo the captain, or could a 57 druid solo him? If so, would a brontotherium work?

Its bad advice to pull this guy to the tunnel. I did so and during the fight he slosly backed into the wall until he warped through it...

well lets just say getting summoned underwater under the world while a disease slowed mob is beating on you isnt fun.

Soloable as a bard with Call of the Banshee. The four dragon slayers will take him down to around 10-20%, from there just find some cragwyrms and watch out for dragons.

Me (64 war) and 65 druid just duo him...long blessed fight but easy as pie. Druid harmonized all giants, I pulled captain. Hold aggro I kill captain, druid blast with fire and heals me. Like I said pretty easy if you have an awesome druid partner like mine.

u know that druid could have root dotted the mob and killed him easyer alone than with you right?, mana for heals and nuking together takes more than just keeping a mob rooted and Dotting it once in a while, with epic and Dot bracer it would be even faster...

Sorry, but the druid could not do this fight solo without a tank. This mob summons.

summoning mob + soloing druid = dead druid

Now I don't know if DC'd pet would be able to stay alive long enough...I'm about to go find out.

I went to go fight this mob solo as a 63 enchanter. I Pacified all his friends and pulled him with tash; only he came. The problem was that he couldn't be rooted. I must have tried 20+ times while running him around the entrance to Siren's Grotto like a nut. I gave up on the root thing and tried charming a mammoth looking creature to fight him. He got the Captain to about 98% when he died and i wasn't able to slow him at all.

From reading the rest of the posts, it doesn't sound like he was that hard, or really magic resistant. Maybe he was changed recently. Also if anybody has any suggestions on how to fight him with a small group or solo it would be helpful.

I bet if you charmed one of the higher HP mobs out there, like a wurm, it shouldnt be to hard. Not sure how high your charm is but you might even charm an ice burrower or tantor.

A Druid with a DCed Brontotherium can definitely take him down. In fact, it's been done many times.

Finally killed him, with me (63 druid) and 62 shammy. Wasn't too bad except when charm broke and it took awhile for pet to get aggro back off shammy. Think Captain was slowed twice but with quite a few resists trying. Mana wasn't a problem at all, had 60 by end of the fight but took a good 15min to kill.

This was the third try doing it this way, first was solo, charm broke... game over. Not sure if i would have had the mana anyway even if charm didn't break. Second time was with another druid but both charms broke at the same time and attempt failed.

Anyway, pretty easy for a decent item.

Has anyone tried to charm an Ice Burrower with Command of Tunare and let it fight the Captain? ...a 63 druid could solo the Captain that way, maybe.

if charm breaks you're dead in 3 seconds or so... and considering how long the fight will take, there's a good chance that will happen. charm breaks, you're summoned immediately, ice burrower knocks off a couple of your buffs... if you had 2 63+ druids it might work =)

Naw it is a good thought but all Ice Burrowers are level 61. The highest level you can charm up to is level 60 for druids unfortunately, even though its 61 or 62 for chanters? something like that.

I just 3boxed him playing my 60 Warrior, 60 Druid and 60 Cleric. Took me about 20min Druid was OOM, and cleric had 30m Left.

my self(56 druid) and a 65 druid and a 59 war did him the other day. i chamred a biotherium, the 65 charmed a velium hound, and war/biotherium tanked...took close to 15minutes to kill the giant

Killed him with one group. Cleric just sat down and healed the pally, spells landed about half the time and not for full. full group just winded up going to melee. took 9minutes doing that. Pally was the only one that needed healing although because of lag with the cleric the druid and shammy had to through a heal once in a while. Only melee's were pally and ranger. Alot of hp. As you can see with other posts he is doable with a group or a few people depending on class or lvl.

Me 60 warrior and my 65 druid friend just killed him duo. According to my log he has around 55k hp and hits for 260 max, 70 minimum (di 10). Druid debuffed with him Hand of Ro and Ro's Illumination and he hit for 70-100 about 50% of the time. Was a 13 min fight.

had 1 group 60 wiz 59 wiz 60 cleric 57 warrior 57 ranger 57 bard I tanked him the whole fight Defensive and only was chealed 3 times with wizzys nuking at 80 % health was about a 3 minute fight Single pulled.

Logged on my druid to check Scout Charisa spawn on server up and 'lo and behold, there she was on track.

Brought my 60 chanter and 55 ranger down immediately and logged on my friend's 60 cleric, brought along a 60 necro friend for support.

Went roaming around near the SG tunnel looking for something to Dire Charm, finally managed to DC a mastodon, checked on the beastiary and only 3 mobs are DC'able.

One warning though, don't go back into the tunnel to show your friends your new pet. It paths the mammoth right under the zone. What I eventually had to do to get him out was have a GM summon me under (with EB) and swam out towards the sea and only *then* did my mammoth follow.

After buffs and medding up, got my friend (Jarriana) to pull, singled him easily. Only problem is, *HUGE* magic resistance. I could'nt land one single slow, or one single magic based spell.

So there's my level 46 elephant tanking the Captain solo. Fight was long, had 1 velium hound add on me but easily mezzed and dealt with, but overall, the DC pet was an excellent tank.

Technically doable with 1 chanter, 1 cleric. Just slightly risky and a little harrowing in my opinion.

With my 64 Shaman, I use MalicousDecay (disease resist debuff) to pull him (so far has always single pulled). Then I pull him back down the tunnel where the fight is done. Once tank engages and he's off me, cast CloudOfGrummus. CoG is only resisted about 1/4 of the time. I have never been able to land Turgurs on him. Enchanter reports never being able to land their slow neither. This is even after Malo/Tash. But with 40% slow, he's a sinch. Was able to finish him off with a 54 druid doing the heals. My shaman basically went oom trying to land nukes/dots on him and having them resisted. Subsequent battles, I'd have to cast Kragg's mending twice to keep warrior at 80+ health.

He is very magic resistant, but can be slowed partially with Shaman disease-type slow (Plague of Insects or Cloud of Grummus) without too much trouble.

After handing in the tools to Scout Charisa, the Kromzek Captain will spawn near the water (to the right just outside of the Siren's Grotto zone). If you harmony-pull him, you can take him easily with a group of 55+, assuming you have a high level chanter and shaman, not to mention no less than 59 warrior tanking. Great reward in the end, but scout rarely lives for too long...
