I saw him spawn at about 1300, neg 1500 tonight, near the Kejek village; Giang Yin showed up on track at the same time. I've hunted SB many many times, never seen him before.
I hunt in Stonebrunt sometimes if I'm not busy- do the heretic heads quest to get the haste sash for guildies or alts... whatever the case may be... kill some endangered speicies (pandas and elder apes - who drop some fair gems sometimes... ) I've TRIED so many times to get the Titans to spawn... then out of the blue... ported in last night late... and Snowbeast, Giang Yin & Old Ghostback were all up. And me with a fresh KEI... ahem. SO I set about tracking this guy (snowbeast). Ran across Ghostback first... so I solod him... which didn't take too long. However- upon returning to track snowbeast and Giang Yin - BOTH appeared to be spawned under the geometry plane - (tracking to point blank range) - I dropped tremor and that successfully pulled him "up" or "out" to play... which we did for about 5 minutes... hes a fast bugger-- and I could barely keep ahead with SoE up.
Several times I turned around to drop a calification or winged death on him and he was gone (still over 50%) .. he can't gate can he? - he's not a caster ... so I assume not but ... I had to track him back down- and eventually got the footpads and a couple fangs - I have a beastlord that's gonna be so happy today... He doesn't have many HP (5k maybe?) - I didn't track how many winged deaths I used... and having to run back and catch him (he regens relatively fast) and as long as yer fast... he should be relatively easy work to someone in their 40's - super easy at 54.

Titans are easy to spawn just need to be able to kill fast and lots of it! just fight from the side of the cat city (the snowy Side with lots of Tiger's,Gorilla's, and Panda's wandering spirits and some Kobolds oh and Cat people) to The WaterFall area you can Spawn Snowbeast , Yin Giang , and Old Ghostback i use my 62monk to do it and can kill those level 25 - 35 mobs pretty fast =-) it takes me about 8mins or so to kill all or most of the mobs from Side of cat city to waterfall once i got all three to spawn in one trip around (Snake and Leopard Spawn in the Jungle Area i dont know much about them but im guessing you can just kill in the Jungle area to spawn them) Good Luck! and i hope my Info helps you out.
I took a different approach to slay this fellow. A druid in a previous post said he used his DoT's and ran around. I wanted to minimize the chance of getting monkey or panda aggro so I used fear instead.
I had a feeling this would be immune to snare / root and found out quickly that he was. I went ahead and feared him and laid down the DoTs. Then I would just stay there and invis myself to avoid the wandering mobs around me. There was no sense in chasing him early on. He would come to me when fear dropped and I would repeat the process as he came into casting range.
Of course he tried to wander away at a later point. I expected he would either due to bad pathing or his low health. I kept him in sight and stayed invis as much as possible until he perished.
When I looted, he dropped TWO pairs of Footpads. Is this normal? I shouted the LOC of the other pair to folks in the zone but no one showed any interest. Such a shame to see such a good item rot away. /shrug
I suppose some folks might consider this a good reason to park an alternate character in the zone just in case. There is no sense in letting the item go to waste if TWO pair should be lucky enough to drop for YOU.

I am a 40 druid, solo'd him last night while I was waiting for GM to help me get into Ykesha zones. He does resist snare/root, so I dotted him with Immolate, then ran, put on Drones of doom, ran some more, put on creeping crud. I kept running until they all wore out, he kept up pretty well, luckily I wasn't encumbered, but my sow did run out. If it hadn't been for Aego I would have died, but resowed myself, repeated spells 3 times. By the time the 3rd round of dots wore off, he ran away, and I had to chase him and hit him twice with firestrike to finish him off. So I don't know the exact number of HP. I got the pads for my happy monk, a pelt, and a tooth.
Well I must say I am a little disappointed with this mob. My lv 36, yes 36, bard was running around scanning the zone for the heretics and pulled up Snowbeast on my radar. For one thing, there was nobody else in the zone for at least a hour with me, and I was only really kiting around maybe a handful of mobs in this time to help kill time while I waited on a spawn of a heretic. I guess for me that would rule out mass-killing sprees trying to get these titans to spawn. Anyhow, Snowbeast conned red but remember seeing that it wasnt too many lvls higher than I am, and decided I would give him a shot. If things went crappy, I would just fire up Selo's and hit warp 9 outta there. Tried to lead with Selos Chain for a snare and kite him around that way, but these guys are immune to any form of movement-based spells. So I loaded up Selos and lead him to a small little out-of-the-way valley and kite him there. All I twisted was Selo's and Fulfil's Chant. Chant was rarely resisted. That was it. 2 tunes. Ran around in a circle for 20 mins tho, helluva lot of hp's but not a hard mob at all if you can do any form of kiting. He never touched me. The loot part is what peeved me. All that attention and all I got were 3 crappy fangs / tusks or whatever the hell they were supposed to be. no footpads, no pelts, nothing =( Well, except a nice little faction hit with the locals. I just sold em back to the stuped Kejekans for like 2pp. Hope this helps whoever out somehow, just my adventure.
Just spent the better part of a morning hunting for this beast. As a 52 shaman Snowbeast conned dark blue to me and was an easy kill. Just sent my pet after him cast Turgur's Insects, Envenomed Bolted him twice and nuked him a few with the JBB's, he didn't resist any spells (never tried to root him). He fell easy.
I spent the entire morning at the valley north of the cat village at about P3000, N300. Just killed everything that came around except for the cat-people. He first spawned at 11:15am at about P3500, N400 and then proceeded to wander down into the valley. I pulled him eastward to avoid adds and took him down quick. He dropped 2 of his pelts but no Footpads.
Spent another 30 mins killing then ran to the cat village to lighten my load of the random trash drops I had been picking up. On my return to the Valley (about 12noon) I found Snowbeast just sitting there at about P2800, N100... I followed him as he wandered to about P3400, N100 while trying to get my pet to catch back up with me from my run back from cat village. Again an easy kill... this time he had the Footpads as well as two more pelts.
Mass killing in the valley there seemed to work for me... Luck on your hunt!
The only way to get these Titans to spawn is mass killing. They are Random, Rare Spawns. This means the more mobs that are down at once the better your chances of a spawn. This works good on Grachnist the Destoryer also in Warslik woods. Well Mass killing isnt the only way... unless you have a couple of days to wait on One of them to spawn... and then its a maybe.. Good luck! ive killed them all and seen each drop. take it from me. this is the most effective method of making them spawn
PS. the more people in the zone the better they spawn to for some reason.. maybe cause they are killing as well?
Level 52 shaman here. Darkblue to me so he was level 38 or more when I ran into him. He doesn't hit too much harder than a Sand or Hill Giant. I didn't mess around in melee for more than a few seconds at a time but he hit for 97 tops with his claw slashes and my AC was somewhere up in the 700's.
I pulled him with Malo to drop his resists, sent in my buffed, sowed, regrowthed, hasted pet and he held him at bay so I can land slow + Envenomed Bolt. After running around doing the shaman pet kite trick, I had to place a 2nd Envenomed Bolt. He turned to walk away from me at the 10 or 15% hit point mark while the pet's melee attacks wore him down. I looted him and he had 2 orange colored,no drop skin/pelts on him and the Footpads of the Tiger.
I recieved 2 negative faction hits, one with the cat things out there and another with Peace Keepers (whoever they are). I only spent 2 days in that zone so I don't know what other rare things spawn but there was a huge panda bear too and he nuked me with lightning for 99 with my magic resist at an 80 when I pulled him, so I got scared and thought he was a wizard and I ran screaming like a little girl in a pink dress.
Me and a lvl 30ish druid weere huntin snowbeast. he does not spawn west of cat village. i heaard he spawns in the ''snow area''. well, im gettin another tracker and goin down there and getting those shoes cuz they good. btw, im twinked lvl 42 monk
im a 51sk this guy was one of the easiest kills ive ever made, dot fear then watch the stupid cat run for dear life! it was great, got 2 footpads made 6k good luck
Best ballpark guess - 6k to 7k hitpoints. I landed 5 lavabolts on him for 810 each while my pet tanked him. He'll turn and try to run at about 15% health.

Spawned west of the cat village for me, was easy to solo as a 49 mage. I killed him, ghostback 2 times, and gianyang or whatever once. Got 2 Footpads of Tiger, Robe of the Panda and quested legs of the titan. Also got a few fangs, is that a separate quest?
I finally gave this guy a try yesterday as a lvl 45 Ranger. I had hunted Stonebrunt a lot and seen him often, but never tangled with him. First try, I attacked with a Wurmy and a Wak of Frozen Skies. Kept the fears on him, but he runs so fast that much of my time was spent catching up instead of hacking. With the running and the Wurmy, my STA went in the tank, and my damage output dropped quickly. Had to zone and get rested. Went back in for a second try. This time I changed tactics and went with dual Waks. Both very light with 22 delay. Combined with my FBSS I was able to attack so fast that he pretty much stayed in one spot as he turned back and forth, and my stamina stayed full. Panic Animal stuck 90 percent of the time, but it was by no means easy. I ended the battle with 1 1/2 bubs of health and 1/2 bub of mana. Had one add, but feared him and drew Snowbeast off in the other direction. Add never came back. Snowbeast dropped the Footpads, a fang, and the skin. It was a long epic battle. He has lots of HPs and hits pretty hard. On final note, I didn't cast anything but fear on him, but my Waks were proc'ing Spirit Strike like mad and it hit for full damage every time but once. One of the best times I've had on EQ yet!!!

yes, i killed him with a 43 ranger and 42 monk without a single problem. just landed a fear and started whacking away. I think i(the ranger) might have used dots, but ranger dots are never all that good. hes got a good deal of hp though, took about 3min between the 2 of us. i was swining a wurmy and centi ls no idea what the monk was swinging. big point, dont tank them if you can avoid it, thought they do run fast, with my sow i was keeping up easy. i soloed prowler once, that was one heck of a fight though. good luck finding them without a tracker though

Well we killed him last night, no shoes tho. :( I am a 48 Monk, had a 46 Druid and a 39 Mage. Wasn't too difficult with that combo, (we mostly reverse kited) had I been alone Im not sure how it would have went. He's got a lot of HP's and hits on the hard side, not too bad tho.
I had been there killing everything in sight for a couple of hours. Not sure of LOC #'s but I stayed between the Kobold camp and the Kitty City, running along the river killing. Found him up by the City to the left side of the river up on the rocks (if you were to be facing the city). We pulled him back towards the Kobold camp in a clear area to avoid adds. (course we got em anyway... not easy to do) But I heard that the Kittys will heal him so try and keep him away from the city if possible. I didnt bother to fear him (again.. avoiding adds) and dont bother with snare or root (as mentioned here several times).
well my friend (49 pally) and I (37 monk) thought that it was time for me to get rid of my spore covered boots. So we went down to stone brun and hunted for 5 hours at loc 2900, -150 and we didn't see anything. is this the right spawn loc?
I as a level 53 monk took this guy solo. he popped just west of kitty village. was a tuff fight but I got him. he dropped 2 large skins and footpads of the tiger. very nice monk shoes. I was killing everything that I could find.
I say this just to help cross reference anyone doing any kind of research on any of the titans.
You can also do a similar evil-based quest, for a decent 2hb stick (good for SKs only it seems) in Paineel if you are evil and have good enough faction. It does not require this mob but other titans.

Everyone tells me something different, anyone know exactly what causese him to pop? I ran around for 8 hours tonight killing everything, killing tigers and tigresses, and still no spawn. Killed Old Ghostback twice but not once did I see this damn Tiger. Really frustrated because everyone tells me something different, any help would be appreciated greatly.
Ok now how hard in general cna he hit and what is the base DPS. I have a 39 Monk and a 46 Wizard. I would think the Wizard would do better simply because he can cast heavy spells for faster DMG. But will need a melee to hunt with and need to know the DMG out put this thing has. Any help would be great.
Man of many names and servers....;)

he didnt hit me for more then 95, im told if your ac is bad (mine was 880) he can hit for up to 100. i dont think you can take him with the monk, you might be ok with the wizzy. maybe

Shortly after Stonebrunt came out I took a trip there. After thiry minutes of looking around I saw Snowbeast. I cast snare and it said mob cannot be effected by movement spells. I decide at this point I need to rearrange my memed spells. So I run far enough to lose him. Came back to him and animal feared, doted, charmed a nearby Highland tiger, and buffed the tiger with the lvl 44 savage spirit. Then sat down and med. Reapplied fear and dot as needed. Thus how I turned my lvl 51 druid into a reverse kiting Woodelf Necro.
Well, im a 40 Ranger, i could just fear and start slicing, but it seems it doesnt look that easy, especially with all the agro's....could i probablt take him?
You should be able to take him out. He can be feared and snared. I would pull him up to the gate at the cat city. There are no adds up there, plus the pathing up isn't the greatest, so you can fear him up there and not have to worry about him running off. (On the SE corner of the mountain, he can get stuck there, and will spin in place.) I don't recall the cats attacking him so you can run him around in the town.
He hits hard, and fast, and has a ton of hps. He'll tear you apart if you stand toe to toe with him. Just get buffed up, throw on all your damage shields, use your attack buffs, and keep sow up. Don't waste mana on nuking him, save it for roots, snares, and panic animal. Expect a long fight.
I took him out when I was 32 (ranger), with a 39 pally and 36 cleric. Most of my fears were resisted, so it was a hard fight. At your lvl, I would think they will be resisted less. I say go for it, I'd try him at lvl 40, but that's me. I dont back down from a challenge. I'd rather fight to the death, then run/gate like most ppl do.
hmmm, not sure about this post . Killed him tonight and from what I understand he is unrootable and unsnareable , plus hes on the cat faction so to run him around the cat city really dosent sound like a good idea. Im a 51 shaman and found this guy hits pretty soft for blue to me mobs , but has more hp's, has more Hp's then a wurm in BW , but hits way softer. Usually when I solo I slow and dot then melee with the pet un hasted . Tonight pet was hasted when I ran into him , so with added melee from the pet it still took two Envenomed bolts plus the melee to take it down , but it wasnt slowed at all and it didnt take much health from me . Usual blue to me mob that I solo it would take one full dot plus melee from me and pet unhasted plus the mob being slowed , by the time the dot would wear out he would be about to run , dot wore out half way thru the fight and had to reapply it . So defenately more HP's , but his melee isnt as strong. I didnt try to root at all so not sure about the immune to movement speed , but he didnt resist either of my dots . Compared to a blue to me Wurm in BW , this guy was much easier, more HP's but less melee dmg . Anyway , was mainly posting that probably not a good idea to run him around the cat city , when you kill him you lose faction with the cats , so good chance they would assist him .
Hey quit being fefs and post info on pathing and approx HP's instead of how low you were when you killed the thing. Jesus this isnt Everlores SS MB, you wanna flame go there.
well my 55 dru landed 3 winged death on him and couldn't stick snare even with glamour of tunare. he was at half...so he has tons of HP. hope this helps someone.
I camped this cat for about 4 hours before it poped. Was killing everything near kobalt north camp. I can confirm he pops at 3369, -274. Im going to stay awile longer to see what PH's are. Good Luck.
#katris,
Posted:Jan 27 2002 at 5:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) dude this thing for 3k LOL i got a pair for 1k on sol ro mehbe i'm just lucky
For some reason these things are priced sky-high on Quellious; I read posts about how they're 2k, 3k, 4k on other servers, the *cheapest* I've seen them selling on Quell was 5k, more often along the lines of 7-8k though =/
the stats on FOOT PADS are 6 ac 10str 15hp 6agi and a beastlord or a monk can wear and it drops only from the SNOWBEAST and it is a rare freakin drop cause i got a pair today for the first time and i have killed the snow beast 10 times. lvl 43 druid
I was lucky and I wasnt... First time Snowbeast was killed on Lanys (before I moved to Anotnius!) he dropped the pads. me and my friend rolled, he won. Still, getting a rare in his first ever killing isnt bad...
It says this creature is a monster, not an animal. Is that right? Cuz I see a few of you flappin about fearing him. Just need some clarification please.... is he an animal?
A friend (36 druid) and myself (51 druid) had no problems fearing him last night and eventually killing him. Snare and root did not work although our magic and fire based dots took quite well.
