Me and guildies camped there to try to kill Kelkhar Icepaw for the lute of the howler. Spawns seems to be random : any named can spawn almost anywere where you've been killing. Just like any good droping spider can pop anywere in the Lab. Question is, is that feeling true ?

Had him pop in Upper Dogs... was a painfully short fight for the crown... decent lowbie monk item... the negative int on it will interfere with skill advancement but hey 15 ac for 0 pounds isnt bad.

LOL, cha has been proven to not really do a heck of a lot, theres no point trying to build it, and the neg 30 int hit for a bard would drain what tiny mana pool they have to begin with for their higher lev songs.

Actually, CHA helps a LOT. The higher my cha, the less resists i get on charm/mez. Plus, -30 int doesn't mean a thing. Bards only have 1 song that uses mana that they use at higher end game. It only costs 15 per use, and isn't used that often. Using it in Velks, i never dropped below 80m. Quite honestly, this IS one of the best head items in the game. Plus 30 cha helps when shopping too. :) My proof of this is that i can buy tboots for 5k. Anyone else in my group pays 6-7k.

well i was grouped in Ldogs when we got it so i know he spawns there at Lower dogs

Four known spawn points:

-Left corner in Upper Kobolds.
-Next to Gregandek Icepaw in Lowers.
-In the room preceding Gregandek.
-In the room preceding THAT room.

Completely random.
