I have been camping this beast all day and no pop. I am not sure if I am in the right place. Does he spawn close to where Fang spawns? Any idea of loc?

This area isn't too nasty to deal with for a 61 necro. You will worry more about falling then the mobs itself. Long as you use your 61 pet you can pretty much pet tank most of the zone. Good luck.

I have killed this one around 10-12 times now.
I have ONLY seen the frost spider ring and the axe drop off it, so if you hope to look for any of the spells quickly...not worth it.

My 63 necro put down both Frenzied spiders very quick. Very easy mob to solo with a level 61 pet tanking it. Dont be afraid to pull mobs, with level 60+ you can single pull without adds. Hope this help...

that info is correct .. was either 52 or 53 .. it was when necros were overpowered as hell .. that beeing possible was the reason they put in the lvl limit, at least one of them is what i heard.
i am a newbie .. tell me how to win :)

Yes Druids and Necro can solo but make sure u are around 54 b/c u need high level dot. Other wise it will take forever and may train. These guy have high mr sooo only the best can solo(Need to know the trick.) GL

as to the thing about no one being able to solo, there was a 60 druid in my guild soloing eyes after it was broken by the group in ff

First off! WHO drops the silver chitin hand wraps? Second, how tough is it. Could a 55 druid solo it? Or is it going to take a group, 2 groups or a guold function to get?

You've never been to Velk's have you..no one can solo anything..it's an ice dungeon from hell..this camp is ALWAYS camped and you need a good grp. Usually 3 hr list depending on server and class.

You wrote your msg flaming the guy sometime in '04, but did you notice he wrote his post in '01? Sure this zone was a lot tougher then... buy a clue!

ive been soloing shards and watchers while /ooc'ing lfg since i was lvl 55. so yeah, some folks can solo. just none of that kiting bs. im talkin true soloing where you actually fight.

The Bracer is dropped by the frenzied velium broodlin (yes there is no g at the end of it /shrug Verant) and also drops the hand wraps.
The shield is dropped by Crystal Fang as his rare with the Crystalline Fang as his common.
Why you people post wrong info is beyond me. Try not to post unless you know the facts, not what someone told you.

Actually he drops the AC 5 +25 hp +25 mana +2 int +2 wis +10 sv pos ring "Rine of the Ice Spiders" as common which is currently broken as it is listed as "Class:NONE". The rare drop is a pretty good 1hs called "Venemous Axe of the Velium Brood" which is 11/24 AC 10 Effect:Poisonous Chill. The effecy is a partially resistable nuke that is poison based and does 85 dmg max. Personally I think this axe is better than lammy or CSS for a warrior due to the AC which is a pretty good bonus for a 1hs.

Looking at the stats on the ring post patch, it says classes are NEC WIZ ENC MAG, so not all :(

Crystal Fangs drops the Crystal Chitin Shield not this guy.

The Stalker is the one that drops the Shield 20ac 9wis etc..., and his common drop is a ring that is not currently fixed the 5ac 2int 2wis etc... I have seen him pop on the very top level above the usual frenzy camp spot.

What is the Ring of the Frost Spider for? Its one of the drops off this mob.
