All I can say is I'm a 55 rogue, woven shadow, dragonborne sash, twin bloodpoints. I had no trouble soloing him. And we all know rogues don't solo for beans.
Umm...not really a fair comparison to the levels of people who do get owned by him. He is underconned but still....he bairly owned my 35 monk (solo) at 40 my monk should be able to kill him. Even still did you take much damage from him when you fought?
So I returned to Unrest at 41 for revenge of al\ll the hardship the zone had put on me 25 lvls before. First step in I see this guy up on track.. blue con so he popped out like a sore thumb in the tracking view screen. I had never seen him there before.. so I went in and was amazed to see this guy on the first floor. Conned him normally and he still conned blue to me. I figured what the heck and pulled him outside so I didn't train myself with agroing pests from the second floor. I wacked away at him the whole time thinking he was missing way too much for a blue con.. I usually have to kite a bit to get blue mobs to to where I can just melee them but he was incredibly easy (hit me a few times in the 60's.. average was more like 30). Needless I destroyed him, lost a bub of life at 1400 hp. No experience though so I figured it was some kind of con bug. Dropped the hammer and cantine. Who do you give these to and is the reward nodrop? Xeroth Spiderkynde Lvl 41 Ranger Clan of Blood and Steel Torvo Server
Canteen is used for a quest, not sure about the hammer, but I'd say it is too. Gonna try giving the hammer to both of the quest NPCs for the symbols of Brell and see if they say anything...
46 shaman here, mp pet whos 34 or so needed to b healed 5 or 6 times for him to live, tho i bombed the guy twice, he only had alacrity on, but definitly underconned majorly!!! he hits like a 35 beware
I have noticed alot of incorrect cons in unrest.I was trying to kill ghouls at the time. The thing was they conned green to me before battle and half way through i conned them again and they conned yellow!!Is this bug a some plot to show us us we can still be owned by greenies??
then you didn't con the right ghoul... there are crazed ghouls and 'a ghoul' in unrest which are part of the ghoulbane quest, which drop ghoul hearts, and they are WAY harder than the normal greenie ghouls you thought it was. Trust me, you didn't con it green, then con it yellow seconds later, you just THOUGHT it was a green ghoul
Ghoul hearts for the Ghoulbane quest?... You idiot, the ghoulbane is dropped off some froglok paladin in guk... please don't post here if you have no idea what you're talking about because it only makes people worry that others are giving them misinformation.

Foot is inserted... I would like to say that as my 100th post, I will humble myself to make it an apology for saying that the Ghoulbane is not a quested item. It has recently been implemented as a quested item just as I wrote that last post, AS WELL as being dropped by the Froglok Paladin...
Please accept my apology for being such a noob /sigh

There is a new quest for the Ghoulbane now. I guess so as a Paladin you didnt have to kill a Paladin (The Froglok in Guk) to get it. Take your own advice.
He may be a bit of an undercon but not that much. A full group of high teens to low twenties players can take this sucker out with NO casualties. We did it last night with a ranger, two clerics, a wizard, a mage (with air pet out), and me, a paladin. We pulled him out of the house and so had the usual assortment of skellies, beetles, and other yard trash joining in the fray. But like I said, we had no casualties on our side and I didn't even have to use Lay Hands. The "secret" is quite simple really. You will need at least two tanks with reasonably high AC and HPs taking turns taunting him off each other and a healer or two to keep em alive to absorb the damage while the finger-wigglers nuke the bejeezus out of him. It was a pretty tough fight in light of the fact that he conned even to me at 20. All the same I don't think he is that much of an undercon, sure he hit me for a good 73 each time he hit (ouch!), but he missed a lot and he wasn't dual-wielding or double-attacking with his fists as I recall, and wasn't that hard to hit. At most he is underconned by around 3 or 4 levels.
Also, like many of the baddies in Unrest, you'll need a magic weapon to hurt this guy melee-wise.
Grimveld Grimforge 20th Level Paladin of Ayonae Ro
Might have done it, it's possible, but this guy is a level 30 mob who cons and gives exp as if he was a level 20. Someone screwed the pooch, and this was in the same patch where they said that 'crazed ghouls would be less of a problem in Unrest' Thanks, if the CGs were still running rampant with this guy too, Unrest would become a dead zone... yeah, sarcasm
I am level 32 now and have fought this guy a bunch since I initially posted (I had only fought him once when I made that first post). My initial impression of him not being that though has changed a bit...he is about as though as a mid 20s mob; I still don't think he is of level 30 difficulty though. Perhaps he just seems tougher than he is because he almost always brings a train of friends with him due to where he is located in the house?
The impression I have of this guy now is that he's tougher than a Skeletal Monk, but not as difficult as a Festering Hag. No way this guy is level 30 though. That's just my opinion of course.
does any one know how to start this quest, or any posted info on this quest? i assume will will go back and go camp him for the items i killed him once already with my druid. he only had the canteen.
Friiar Seekers of Lore Level 40 Dwarven Cleric of Brell Serilis
Greetings. Was helping out some guildmates with a raid in Unrest last night (L44 Druid, btw) when I see a nasty train run out of the house, slaying everyone several outdoors and this ghostie is one of the mobs. Trying to limit the carnage, I started in on him. Since he was green, I figured one Calefaction (444 DD) would lower him enough that I could just melee and get things over with quickly, move onto the next mob. WRONG! =) He proceeded to whoop my butt, hitting for 60-80+ and before I knew it, I was a half health and he'd only lost 1/3. Rooted him (90 something DD), threw on a 650 pt DOT and hit him again with Calefaction. It seemed that the DOT was just about to run out time-wise, when he died. So looks like he has about 1600 hps or so. Nasty critter.
I was doing my "Clericly" duty and helping stop a train when this guy floated by (After waxing a 33 ranger who was busy fighting 2 carrion ghouls). I was FH/FM so I figured, what the heck, he cons Blue (27 Cleric). So I began to nuke away.....and I kept on nuking. I had him rooted and expended a full mana bar of Undead Nukes on him, only to leave him with 1/4 of his hp left and me shaggin' a$$ to the zone. Next time I'm bringin' friends, hehe.
Im a level 31 wizard and was hunting with a level 35 shaman who had a pet wolf. We encountered the Torklar Battle master on the first floor near the back door. I nuked him down to 1/3 hp before he aggroed on me. Hit me for 88 several times very fast. I couldnt cast or even root. I died. Then he killed the Shaman. He conned green to me. This is obviously some plot by Verant...I just cant figure out what they hope to get out of it...I mean we are talking UNREST here...!..its already bad enough there for God's sake. Frankly if could find another multiplayer realtime online game that didnt involve so much violence I would switch in heartbeat. You think Verant could play by their own rules, but I percieve a real streak of sadistic perversity there.
You are level 31 and you are just now realizing that EverQuest is violent? Guess the guy who sold you your account on eBay should have warned you about that...
First off let me start by saying NOONE is an idiot. People make mistakes and not everyone can spell. What does an age matter if they are just trying to give information on how THEY dealt with something. Come on lets not all act like two year olds and squabble over something that should be fun for everyone. Now about this ghost.... I am a lvl 34 warrior in full Rygorr with a wurm and some other sweet treats.. I was there with a lvl 45 druid who also is not lacking in the armor dept. We did not get our behinds handed to us at all but we did have a bit of a time killing him. At 34 I actually got xp from the first kill the second was no xp he was green but obviously his lvl bounces around. He is a fun kill if ya want to have a fun kill... Kind of like fishing for carp... Ya don't really want the food but it is a fun fight. Anyway that is my say on the matter thanks for the ear ( or eyes in this case )
He conned white at level 20, so I guess he can be level 20 :) He OWNED my group of two twinked out 19 druids, a 20 cleric and a 20 warrior(me) I ahd lvl 60 cleric buffs on, the others were self/crss buffed, but the moment i dopped to 90hp and the cleric went OOM, they all busted *** for the zone. the cleric tried to heal me with what he was able to med, but one hit took me down and then Tork hit the medding cleric before he could stand up, proceeded to stun his *** from full health to nothing in a matter of seconds.
i saw him, at first i thought it was the son of teh ghost in unrest, so i decided to drop him and see his loot, i cast star fire for 612, 612, 612, each hit did 1/3rd health on him (i am 51 druid) 3 hit he dies. i am cluesless how u say he has 490 hps....he dropped a no drop hammer, 1hb, and a battleworn cantine, lore, no drop
I dont know about that - I am 29 pally with Ghoulbane. Myself and 28 cleric got pounded by this guy. He hit me for 60 - 80, often doubles. I could not seem to touch him with ghoulbane, although ward and dispell did work. In the end we had to run. Interestingly, he conned green to me - thought he would be easy to take down
I am almost positive it does 247 bu tit maybe 237 all I know is someone pulled shouting train I nuked to help and I get exp form him I loot and get the 2 items he drops, I offer it to everyone in the zone first since I dont have a clue what they are for. He was green to me so he was 1 lvl below a blue. Wizards ROCK BTW I'm lvl 29 and have only 478 hps unbuffed lol
i know you all wont belive this but i a mear 22 pally with my gb and my own buffs and the heals from a 19 cliric took him out so eather thay downplayed him or we got real lucky
Well, I won't outright say "You're right, I don't believe it," but it IS a bit unbelievable. All the level 26+ who it cons green to had problems, and some died. We took it last night with afull group. 3 palies..Human, Dwarf, and High Elf, lvl 20, 21, and 19 respectively..1 Druid, 1 Ranger Both Half Elf both level 19, and achanter, level 21. Connedblack to leel 20 and 21, yellow to level 19. Easy kill? Nope. Kill yes. Easy, hardly. All pallies had LOH available, chanter nuked. druid heaed. Killed the battlemaster 3 times. First time, lost the level 20 Pally. All three times, lost half or better health.
So...a level 22 pally took him alone? Even adwarf with better strength than a human? Not likely. Perhaps not entirely impossible, but definitely 100% improbable. Stranger things havehappened. But not in this decade.
Easy kill for a very unequiped lvl 43 iksar monk. Took me down half a bubble with no heals or mend. Droped "A Battleworn Canteen" magic lore nodrop no stats.
I took him down at 39 with my pally and a ghoulbane. Lemmie tell ya this guy is a way undercon. I used layhands and then had to root him and back up and heal for the last push. by the end of the fight i had 2 bubs of health, and no mana (used the rest for undead DD). I would not suggest soloin this if you are a melee char till yer late 30's.
Klongash Krackheads 39th Paladin of Brell Serilis House Strategist of House Kenafin
This guy conned green to me at level 32 which is completely wrong! I tried to kill him as a level 32 Paladin and had to run. I came back as a level 33 Paladin with my Lay On Hands up and still couldn't beat him without help towards the end. I'm guessing he has around 2000 hit points and he swings fast too.
Best to avoid him if soloing and under level 35 methinx.
"he was green to me at lvl 29 and one nuke of 247 gave me the kill, I did get exp so he was most likely about lvl 26-25 and only had 490 hps about"
1) Level 25-26 mobs will be BLUE to you. You aren't in the newbie levels any more where 3 levels = no XP. 2) If you nuke him for 247 and he dies, how can he have 490? You hit him for half his health (according to you), and he dies. Do the math half-wit. 3) And why are you the only one who says that he is easy? Simple answer - You don't know what you are talking about and you're BS'ing. You are probably only level 2.
no, YOU are an idiot. he said it was a high green (he got exp). that means that it was around lvl 23,24,25. he was only estimating and off by a max of 2 lvls.
now, it is obvious that he is a wizard and used the spell 'inferno shock' (which, btw, the dmg would be 237 at lvl 29- an honest mistake). it is also obvious that he was not the only one attacking this mob, but did enough damage to take the kill.
it's also easy to see that everyone else was having a problem with how hard this guy hits. this would not factor in to the difficultly to a wizard nuking a mob that is occupied with someone else.
you should be ashamed of yourself for putting up such a hypocritical post. it's obvious that YOU are the one that does not know what they are talking about.
#Anonymous,
Posted:Jul 16 2001 at 1:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) No, you are now an idiot like the first person. If you would use your mind for once instead of talking out of your *** like most wizards do, then you'd realize that the first guy was a moron. So explain this, Velocir Raptor. How can a guy kill a mob that has 490 HPs in one nuke that does 247 damage? Oh wait, IT ISNT POSSIBLE. Maybe if you weren't newbies (Holmium and Velocir), you might be able to add. And Holmium, STFU.
/sigh if you knew how to read you would realize HE WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE ATTACKING HIM. therefore, all he has to do is more than 50% of the mob's hp and he will recieve the experience. his damage + the damage from the other people attacking Torklar is what took away ALL of the mob's hitpoints. i really suggest you give up posting here because you look like a REALLY big moron. it's people like you that make the game less enjoyable for the rest of us.
btw- it's kinda sad how you managed to spell "hypocrite" wrong after i showed you how to spell it in my post. it's even worse that you attempt to attack my academic backround after making such a mistake.
well, that's enough time spent on you.

He didn't say anything like that, so if you would stop making stuff up for a minute, maybe you would realise that you are about as smart as a rock. But I'd still bet on a rock if it was against you in a gameshow that had to use brains.
*edit This is in reply to someone who most probably cannot be seen on this page anymore, due to his poor posting score, this is not a reply to Velocir edit*.
Listen mate, obviously you haven't been to Unrest before. Perhaps the battle master was returning back to his spawn point, after someone, who had been fighting it, had to zone or died. This mob may have had only 30% life left. That means its a valid possibilty, that this wizard did indeed nuke it and kill it for 237 dmg.
By suggesting a lvl 31 character is a newbie and you are the one that results to flames.... am I the only one here who thinks that this is... ummmm... wrong? Also by judging the level of your retaliation and the aggravated state that you are in, I would say you are in the lower teens bracket. Honestly, I wish people would think SERIOUSLY before they post. It can save alot of wasted time replying to you.
Btw, good work on being anon aye, a real big man you are.
Level 31s are newbies. When I was in my teens, I can guarantee your character was non-existant. Having a level 47 druid, 60 mage, and 36 necro, you should silence yourself Holmium. And I have had an account since the second week EQ was launched. That means you probably didn't even hear of EQ yet. And yes, you are a newbie until you break level 45. So I guess that would make my Necro a newbie by my standards.
I don't really care what level your alts are or when you started playing this game. I know of people who are lvl 50+ who are complete #$%holes and don't know anything about the game. If you are the same person who has been replying earlier (good job on remaining anon btw) then you seriously need to look at yourself.
By saying that someone is 31 and a newbie that may well be but that also could be completely incorrect, as you have no way of knowing how many alts they have, or how big they are.
However, I would say I know a hell of a lot more than a lvl 45 or higher player would. I study this game alot and spend alot of time frequenting the EQ forums on many websites. So if I'm not playing this game, I'm studying it. Yes and suprisingly, I do manage to have a social life too. There is no point continueing on this thread, as you obviously aren't listening to reason and common sense.
So your saying, if I brought a mob down to 25% health, went oom and had to zone, then you zoned in, saw this brand new mob and nuked it for 150 dmg and killed it. Then you may think this mob only had 150 hps... is that a possibilty? I think so. So instead of flaming everyone and thinking you are better than them, think a little bit and have some common sense and compassion. You aren't the only person playing this game and you aren't better than everyone else.
I totally agree with Velocir. This "YOU ARE AN IDIOT" has to be new at this game or very young. I really don't need to add anymore to Velocir's post, as he has pretty much said it all.
I would suggest that you think before you speak (or type in this case), as the saying goes "It's best to be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and to remove all doubt".
*edit* This is in reply to someone who most probably cannot be seen on this page anymore, due to his poor posting score, this is not to myself *edit*.
Lol, I really don't want to get too involved in a flame war here, but since I have two names, I must be higher than 20 aye... Come on. Use some common sense here people.
Also another note, I've noticed that all the flames are by "anon" people and some of these have been posted within 20 mins of each other. Gee what big men (or man), if they don't even have the balls to register. Hell anyone can post, it takes people with common decency to register and to stand up for themselves.
This guy showed up with a recent patch after the crazed ghouls were made "less of a problem".
He's completly disrupted the first floor of Unrest. Before a good group of high teens/low 20's could handle the first floor without many issues. With this guy in the mix its impossible for the same groups to hold the first floor.
I never found where he spawned(too busy running for the zone), but he hits for 80 points and cons blue to a Lvl 21 Druid. His damage seems to indicate that he's much higher in level than the con, as my full group had a hard time killing him by himself.
He seems to be the main problem now as the trains have almost doubled in frequency due to his spawn.
Perhaps Verant is raising the level of the zone? Maybe this is intended to keep lower levels out of the house?
Whatever it is, it seems to be counter productive to a good night of carnage in Unrest.
Watch your backs, there are now two ghosts in the zone!
