A Drakkel Blood Wolf  

This looked like a regular "Drakkel Dire Wolf" when I killed him, he dropped the belt for the Kromrif quest too.. "Blood wolf harness"... But he didnt look like this...

Need faction and/or experience in the upper 30's or low 40's? Charm this big bad wolf and have it go on a rampage. (Make sure you use a strong mid level charm spell since its resistance rate is decent.)

This named wolf makes an excellent pet if you need faction hits. It is capable of owning the stray FG scouts easily or you can sic it on a number of normal Drak wolves. Even with 4 normal Drak wolves trained on it, it will eat them all with very little damage taken (stick a damage shield on him for better results).

There are 2 ways to go about this when you find it (I usually see it roaming around the cliffs near the EW zoneline and FG fort in GD of course):
1. Snare then charm the DBW and make it "Sit" while you train the MOBs to it. (very safe way)
2. Charm the DBW and order it to attack the targets in a distant. (slightly risky if the charm breaks since DBW moves fairly fast when it comes after you.)

However, make sure that the entire time you are sic'ing it on a victim that you have your DBW pet as your 'target' (pay no attention to the charmed DBW's victim's HP bar) and you are just out of spell range while it is fighting. Reason being is that it breaks charm every so often (not much, but it always seems at the least likely time). With enough distance between you and the DBW, you have plenty of time to recast while it charges at you (especially if you snare it before you charmed it).

Best part is that once it is below 1 bub of HP, break the charm purposely and then kill the gimp ex-pet (like most mobs it won't attack when it has gotten into '****** mode', it will just wander or will stay in place with snare) and loot (Blood Wolf Harness every time...worth a decent sum of plat to a merch).

Good faction and good exp. at a low mana cost by having this as your pet.

Btw, Tiny Companion works on him but doesn't show a graphic...poo on that /sigh

I spent 8-10 hours killing drakell dire wolves in 4 different sessions at different times of the day. I could not get the blood wolf to spawn. Anyone have any advice.

Was fighting in GD with my necro teamed up with 2 monks(lvls from 30-34), killing drakkel dire wolfs around the wizard spires, at one point this hell dog attacked us had to feign, was on the ground at least one minute and he had walked away, stood up and soon enough he came running back again, seems the aggro range on this is huge :(

The wolf doesnt look like that anymore since luclin, it looks like a coldain wolf but larger, so it no longer looks like a freak of nature like that wolf

P.S I soloed this thing and only got down to 40% hp

Took him out at 35 Solo w/ snare fear kite style ( panic animal) hardly bit me took awile but wasent hard . also took him out yesterday at 49 even easyer , Has droped Blood wolf harness and the crested blood wolf harness .

31 Mage didn't solo this fellow. He's rough! I tried to take him out with a 35 Shaman and 36 Warrior and we ended up having to train him to the Coldain. He's no pushover. Ton of HP.

I killed it yesterday - it got tons of HP but we (53 cleric and 46 bard) killed it with no severe troubles.

It droped a Crested Blood Wolf Harness which i have never seen before. Stats are AC 7 and Mana 30.

saw two of these bad boys up at the same time the other night, both on either side of the gorge

As a lvl 31 Mage i soloed these things near the EW Zone and picked up a Blood Wolf Harness.

Are The Rare Spwan?? i couldn't Find one all Night? and where do they spwan??

Where do these things spawwn? Are they random over the whole zone, or located in a particular area? Do they have place holders like the drakle dire wolves or tracking wolves?
