i was trying to solo with my 30 mage in fv and was haveing a hard time allready.was killing a spider and got add.had to run to city.i medded up and got pet up again and went out to make trouble once more..i was running along to waterfall and went over some small hills and there was someone there with a pet i thought it was a pc too.luckly out of habbit i coned it with r-click and saw it scowled at me and im like whoa!!but it was too late i was too close.vekis hit me with a posion dot and i booked it back to the city like the dickens,had me down to 17% health..but i lived for another day.

I went to the port in FV for the first time tonight. Had a bunch of canines from Drolvargs in DL sitting in bank, so decided to quest turn them in. I went from portal in tunnel to port city by hanging on the right wall and going into the tunnel. When I left, I decided to go straight out of the city and go across land. I figured I was sowed and could outrun the mobs in the zone. Well, I am running up the waters edge, and I see someone medding by the side of the river (PC). A second later I see a necro and pet a little farther north, just past the statue where the river gets narrower. I thought it was a PC and kept running. All of a sudden, I take 556 points of damage, and get slowed incredibly. I look at the spell icons, and see Insidious Retrogression. I think, OMG, something this strong is in this zone, I don't stand chance at Level 46. I figure that I am dead, but I just keep walking. No more spells come, and I am thinking what the hell? I turn expecting to see the pet bearing down on me, but nothing. I count myself luck and turn around to see spiders everywhere and me slowed beyond belief. Luckily I had an invis potion in my pack. I pulled it out, chugged it down, and crawled to the zone. Never again will I get close to where this sucker spawned, now that I know.

well it warms my cold blooded heart to know that she has killed a few of you in Fv. I was ally to her so I used her as a med shield. Now that I am 51 I understand how she can ROCK. I have been killed many time by those damn FV gaurds and their time of reckoning is comming as I assend to 60. So all you have to do is Be and Iksar Necromancer and she has no problem with you. Of course when you hail her nothing happens.....shame I could lean nuch from her I think.

Died in FM at lvl 28 but was bound in FV. Was on my way back when I noticed an iksar necro near the statue. Not so unusual. Conned red, didn't think anything of it until I realised that it said scowls at you, ready to attack. Realised too late to pull away. Copped 1 hit from her and a quad hit from pet which took me down to about 25% health, but I was extremely lucky because when I ran for the FV guards, she and her pet did not follow me.

I've been killing spiders with my little warrior (lvl 32) for the past 3 days. I thought nothing of it when I was on my way back to town and saw a necro standing at the statue. I ran right past her ... half health keep in mind ... she hit me HARD sicked pet on me .. I screamed MOMMY! After making it to the bridge, with 170 hps left, I decided to log my druid on and take her out (drood with a 'tude). Now, after reading these posts I realized two things ... I was VERY lucky to make it past her with my warrior, and that god I didn't pick a fight with her by myself :)

Does anyone know what she's for or how/when she spawns?

She's on legion of cabilis faction--- Hunt in seb and shes gonna lub joo... cons warmly/even to a 56... and she doesnt pursue, since she's a permarooted quest npc

Vekis is indifferent to me anyone no why this might be.

I was killed by Vekis a few times when i was running back and forth from fv to loio back in my younger days. I finally keyed on one way to survive and encounter with she and her pet. If you get caught by her, immediately jump off the waterfall and swim for dear life to the stone pier near the sunken ship. Her pet will not follow you and you have a chance to make it back to the outpost in time to heal yourself or be healed by others there...even if you die, this makes for a fairly easy corpse recovery, as you die at the outpost instead of out in the wild where you ahve to contend with all the spiders and such.

i hate her im gonna kill her when i get to lvl 50 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! she will die lol but really she is really dum i stand about 10 feet away and she dont do nothin but if she cons dubousy can i bump into her a not get attack im not tryin it till i get an anwser from her and the beasty dont work that good ether im lvl 26 and some are blue the spiders and it say there all 28 and up

OK, like it or not, here is my problem.

I agree with all of you that this is one mean Necro. My pali has been wiped by her nasty DOT many times in my LOIO days. So I looked up the " Ignite Blood " spell she casts, and started researching Necro's. I since have created an Erudite Necromancer and have made it to lvl 53. What an amazing class! They truly are the most powerful class on all of Norath, IMO.
My question to all of you is: If you show this Necro so much respect as being a bad ass, then why not show a little appreciation for the Necro's that are on YOUR SIDE?? Everyone stays away from grouping with Necro's because no one will take the time to learn about them. We are by far the most misunderstood class in the game.
All classes have great abilities for grouping, including Necro's. I think if more people took the time to research the other players around them, there would be more well-balanced, and more effective groups out there. So many people think that a Warrior, Cleric, and Enchanter is all you will ever need to get exp. The only time you bother with another class is when you need a sow, a corpse recovered, summoned items, a TL or port, or to take down some huge named epic mob.
I myself have 3 accounts, 3 computers, and 7 char's. And I still have very much to learn about this game and it's players. So you can aggree with my post here or you can start the flaming. Either way no one can argue with the FACT that there ARE people who play this game that are prejudice against other classes due to lack of research and experience.
Sure, Necro's are built well for solo'ing. But we do not play an online game to solo( that is why they made Diablo). EQ is formatted around interaction with others in it's enviornment. That is why there are 5 boxes below you target screen, and there is a guild title behind your name.
Sony is aware of this problem as well. With the Luclin expansion, they took a lot of the kiting factors from zones, ie: no snare or root. They gave more group buffs then ever before to classes that had very few or none at all. They are making TONS of gear NO DROP, or they are putting "recomended level of.." on them, in order to keep from twinking and solo'ing a low level char.
I know I got off on a rant, and I am aware this is not the correct board for it. I don't usually get off-topic, but it was on my mind =)

Greeting's, just a little story, having jus got to lvl 36, i went back to FV bank from FM, all was well at this point until the trip back to the LOIO zone, where i was running my A## off to get to the zone trying to avoid the spider's when all of a sudden the word's VEKIS's PET, my reactions were heart-beat racing in order to get to the zone, With the spider's on my trail as well. I was rooted, poisioned,Boiled blood, and hit with more spell's than in ur average spell-book. LOH was used at the point were i had 40hp remaining,and panicking not to lose my lvl, were i was released from the root spell and made it to the zone. A moment of spare time was needed to get my heart beat back to normal lol.

CONCLUSION= Vekis is nasty and ur bound to get add's with the dracnid's so b carefull, i almost lost a lvl from doing the normal LOIO zone run:

ALL in ALL im still alive, nasty experience though.

When i was running past this punk a$$ NPC she casted a one dot on me but lucky i am a warrior with alot of HPs... the pet didnt Sh*t to me at lvl26 =).but im one of the rarest peps to make it from tha dam nerco.=)

once when i was running to LOIO I saw a guy following sir hobble and squire fuzzmin when all the sudden all three of'em die! once i saw that i got the hell outta there (so im assuming it was her) i don't know why but why does the wurmslayer ques have to be so hard?! and i don't know why they even make NPC's like her there just plain evil! good luck ever killing her for anyone that tries.

Im was a 30 paladin and one day im running to Ill omen to get to FM, so i see the guy name vekis some im like Hey! a high lvl necro who is killin mobs, lets hail him! bad idea... only when i was like friggin next to him did i see the words "vekis pet" then i said O sh*t! well let me just say, this guy is bad arse. he doubles for 175 dmg (i have to clue how a necro can do this but he did, maybe it was the pet but i know i got doubled and kicked hard) and something kicked me for 65. no soon had i begun to run like mad when he nuked for 160 and doted with a nice 60/tick. i was at about half hp now. i ran to town like mad and still got range nuked (dirty sob has casst RANGE).

anyway i reach town and when i get down to 1/2 a bub i lay hands on self to get full health. i kept casting heal on myself to heal but i was down to 1/3 when the dot wore off. lucky me a 54 dru cast sup heal and camo on me so i ran right by him with no probs.

for some reason he doesnt chase and his pet will for only a limited range. any way i had 1080 hp at that lvl (low i know =( ) so any caster or tank who cant heal well (or at all) and is less than 30 is doomed to death.

met this baddie today at top of waterfall, he hits me with something and i get the message about pain and suffering, i gate and think whew i made-uh no 5 sec later i was dead -HE IS BAD

I was level 19 at the time and i had a friend take me to LOIO. i was scared and cast invis. he ran off scouting and then i suden;y see his health bar go down. I then see him running with her on his tail. he died from the DoT alone so she is nasty. Almost cost him lvl 20.

I hope this answers the question does she only attack if hailed

First time Ive seen this nasty beastie.
I used to level my bard in Lake at Sarnak fort, etc, no probs except dying all the time, the usual. Of course my bard would blaze through the spider zone with selos on, so I didnt know Vekis existed (if he did 4 months ago).

Today my lvl 19 Cleric is poking along *slowly* trying to avoid spiders, (Ive made it past them when careful before without SoW or selos & drum) and I see an Iskar, so I hail him.

Wham! Boiling --- You Are Dead. *DONG*

Thank Turane I remembered to bind myself in FV or I would have gone the long way from EFP where I was bound.

Whats the story on this agro bastage, he agros everyone? Only those who hail him? Can an Iskar Monk pat him on the head?

What does he drop? Im going to go kick his butt with my guild at some point for payback, but it sure was a surprise.

Man, this guy is one wicked MOB, even at lvl 40 he hurts. One day one me way to bank b4 a guild raid, runnin to bank and get hit with his infamous DoT, wasn't worried bout it much at all as I had SoW. But I get to town and I got one bubb of health left and his little pet tailin me, hit root on pet throw a Cel Heal on myself and Camp. I get attacked by this stupid MOB all the time, mostly I like runnin by the statue to see how many newbs have been killed with in the past few days by Vekis hehe. Anyone from lvl 1-30 has no chance in hell against his DoT, if yer a tank in those lvls, find a good place to die with his DoT on, cuz your going too if you don't have a healer type tailing you, and a GOOD healer at that. DoT lasts for bout 5 minutes. Long lasting DoT with wicked effects. I've never fought this mofo but guaranteed, one day, I will tear him a new arse for the troubles I've had with him in the past!
