heh im lvl 34 mage in velius getting MS and i wanna know the stats on these stormfeather talons it shows it on his loot table crap thing but i cant click on it WTF!!

Have anyone seen stormfeather since patch ? Camped him today for about 19hrs and nada /sigh

What are the stats on the talons that he drops, everyone keeps saying that they want these. But no one will ever tell me what they are for.

i dont know but when i was in crushbone must have been someone stuipd gave the stormfeathers talons to a lego and i killed and got ice tooths and stormfeather's claws and a vemuilm round sheild.

Ok well the guy who posted this stuff says hes "yet to see him...in 16 hours." my question is where did he get the pic to post if he hasnt seen him? did someone else post that or somethin?!?

Does anyone know the exact loc ? or is there an exact loc ? .../em shrinks out of embarrassment .. don't get mad at me I'm just asking a question ..
The text at the top of the page is correct. I have killed him twice and both times found him atop the hill above the 3 craps playing gnomes. Once was late at night and again this morning. He dropped the talons the second today and the second part of the iceclad map both times. He was a tough kill for me both times. He cons blue to me (36 druid) but resists pretty regularly.

I was heading to N Ro the long route and I was comeing up on the dock from the south. Just as I was turning into the dock I saw something to the north behind the trees. I being the curious one ventured to check it out. The name was Stormfeather so I looked him up on my second system and decided to take him down. The fight lasted no more than 60 seconds and I looted and got the map peice. This whole process did not take more then three minutes. Yes I did get lucky. And screen shots if anyone wants to see.
Now if only lodizal will be this easy hehe.

i sold the talons to a merchant. they're probably garbage when you're at the level where you would be camping him for the map piece.
took me 30 hours of camping him to get the map.
now to camp lodizal for the other piece...

I am amazed at how many people say they want the talons, and complain about the length of time they need to camp Stormfeather, when I have had a set for many many months now .. since I came upon him quite by accident and actually managed to kill him .. and no one ever responds to my /auctions. I think I was about level 35 at the time I took him .. and he was tough and took a while to kill (using root/dot/med technique) but very doable by a low wis druid (about 123 at the time, I believe) of that level.
I have been trying to sell the talons for (current price) about 1900pp .. which is about 2 times the amount of pp I have to my name, but which is, from my perusing of the prices at various websites .. very reasonable still. Good damage/delay ratio, and nice stats if you are a warrior, bard or ranger .. especially because it is low weight and an offhand weapon.
I know people want the map piece too .. which unfortunately is no drop so cannot be sold .. but the weapon itself is, I would say, very good for the level mob dropping it. And it is usable right now .. whereas the map piece just clutters up the bank slots until one realizes that there is little probability of actually completing the map quest (unless you have Lodizal capable and willing friends).
I loaned the talons for the time being to a level 52 warrior friend .. who loves them .. but has no money or collateral to give me for them permanently - but, it just proves to me this is not just a mid-level weapon. With people seemingly selling stuff for many thousands of pp these days .. I am surprised they blink at this price.
Oh well .. I found a use for them .. but .. am still interested in the disinterest considering the stats and rarity. If anyone can fill me in there .. I would be appreciative. Thanks.

Just wanted to anonymously post that those "clutter the bank" junk items (like the piece of the map) that I used to throw away left and right, have come back to haunt me. Now I am capable of taking out Lodizal in a group and it's the Stormfeather map piece I need, and of course I never find Stormy anywhere. DOH. My only suggestion? Keep that stuff in the bank. Fill each bank slot with a backpack and KEEP THAT STUFF.... you'll thank me for this piece of advice later.

Okay, the one question that hasn't been touched on here is this - When does he spawn after the servers come up? I would figure there could only be 3 possibilities:
1) Immediately - he's up as soon as the servers up (or not up if he skips that spawn)
2) One spawn time later - he pops (or skips spawn) 18-20 hours after the servers pop
3) Totally random
Anyone done any research and know the answer to this? Cuz I'm sick to DEATH of camping him, and I'd like to know.

he hits hard as heck, between 70 and 90. but i was only level 33 heh. was pulling cougars for my group and WHAMO there he is. i start yelling THE CLAWS THE CLAWS! cause ive wanted em for a while heh. ran up and hit him. well to make a long story short my whole group woulda ended up dead if it wasnt for a kind druid that happened to be walking by. no claws, and a group member looted and destroyed the map before we could tell her anything different =| just another page from my diary, have a wonderful day =)~

Killed him - easy for a 39 SK - and got both the Talons and the map. He was in the exact spot every once is talking about - between the Icebreaker docks and the small gnome village.
Meanwhile, have killed Midnight several times, so went looking for Garou with a tracker to get an easy club - and after almost 8 hours near the TFS - nuthin!

i cant this stupid griff for 23hours straight =\
when i finally left to get some xp it spawned around 3 hrs later (unfair) atleast in the camp i got 2 couger claw earing heh and played alot with the gnomes playing craps =) oh and the guy who killed storm was trying to get 50k for the talons, what a moron :d. anyway i only wanted teh map piece but got screwed in the end...oh well

Could someone post the loc of the spawn on the hill? I am familiar with the area to some degree but if you could post a loc it would be a big help. thanks

I did this quest was lucky a friend gave me his camp after he killed him i placed my lvl 48 mage there withe pet and was attacked by some coughs waiting he poped after 18 hours and i killed him easy withe my mage

The only thing i have heard about him is that a guild member was waiting for the boat and she saw him, so she killed him..... Talons dropped 8)

No place holder. He spawns in the same spot every time. Right up on the open hill between the 3 gnomes playing craps and the lost pirate. He does not roam. His spawn timer is 18-20 hours. The bad part is, he can completely skip a spawn. Good thing is he always drops the map piece, but does not always drop the talons.

Here is some info that i gathered from camping this beast for 100+ hrs. Actually got to see him spawn twice in one LONG SITTING. Unfortunatly didn't get to loot it the first time due to it already being camped :(
He flys in from the water - different places both times he spawned - best place i can tell you to sit is at top of hill up from gnolls. You will definetly see him there.
Some say he is a caster Griff like the ones in East Wastes - Not true - Stormfeather is no caster.
I timed him from the one spawn to the next - At least according to my clock it's every 18hrs.
Yes, the thought of a place holder came to mind - and luckily enough a group was killing lozidal while I was sitting on hill waiting for spawn - I can tell you that lozidal is NOT a place holder.
At least this the information i was able to gather from the Brell Serellis Server

...can a lvl 50, well equipped warrior solo this thing? I am only missing the map piece he drops from completing the quest. Does Stormfeather have a dmg shield like regular snow griffins? How much hp does he have?

I (a 38 druid) was sitting around killing cougars when all of a sudden i saw this big **** floatin in the air. He was blue to me so i decided to kill him. After that and getting the talons (which i was quite suprised to find) i went back to cougar killing again and i anxiously await his arival again. whahaha!

ok here is what i know, from camping him for close to 80 hours in total i finaly got him. Two things that might Interest you.
1. He has no place holder, you can kill the Cougars and you might get a few earings doing it
but it doesnt effect the rate in which he spawns
2. He is on a timer, some say 19 hours Personaly i think its 20, and he may not spawn every time.
He is an Easy kill for those that would be doing the quest. He doesnt roam and stands in the one spot 1/2 way up the hill. Think thats all that needs to be said
