attempted to solo:
SK with 250 disease resist unbuffed (bobbing corpse was not working)...
was easy day til his AE landed...that made the fight interesting...used 13k dmg HT and leechtouch...got him to 10% then got an add...had to feign and get out of there...feigned at 4%...will try to duo wit em shaman

brought shaman in for disease/poison buff...that did the trick,his ae couldn't land so no slow for me woot..
By the way,it seemed like the more hp he lost the harder he started hit..earlier in fight max hit was like 216...
75 sk all mitigation aa's maxed, 2212 ac... max hit at end of fight was 590..i couldn't slow with shaman..at 10% the elder wyrms if they're up will help him..

Pull him so your casters can hide behind the corner of the wall.
Zlexak has low HP, but his DoT WILL wipe your party eventually, and it's all about DPS - Kill him before he kills you.
Rush him hard and fast after the pull, casters dump mana, melees use your disciplines as soon as your tank has sufficient agro, spit on him, throw rocks at him, ANYTHING you can do to add DPS will win or lose this fight.

Our monk positions us directly north of the Ring of Vulak trigger mob and around the corner to the right. Everyone cept the MT & the monk stands around that corner.
The monk then splits the triplets, giving him all the room down their hallway he needs, plus a bit of room north of their hallway for extra running room. He has only brought all three once, when FD didn't shrug them off. Otherwise out of five or six times he's been able to single each triplet fairly quickly and flawlessly.

To the guy saying "Sont = Easy"...he's joking or just horribly misinformed. Sont is a VERY tough mob. Zlexak is a very similar mob to Sont. he has insane damage output but relatively low hp. 1250 AE DD, with disease based slow component. Good luck. We downed him lastnight and he dropped Orb and slippers.

Either you are horribly misinformed, joking, or lying.
Sontalak is harder than almost any of the mobs in ntov for one. Aary, Lord V, and some MIGHT consider zlexak harder, but I personally consider zlex easier. Sontalak has insane damage output because he hits very fast and his AE is a proc, he was slowable but he dispelled himself, then he was made unslowable(not sure if they ever changed him back) and he has a frontal 4 slot dispell. Which means you are gonna have to tank him with an unbuffed warrior, so you need a TON of healing power to keep him alive, but it will be hard to do that without sontalak agroing your clerics and running into caster area.
With AE taunt he has become a lot easier if you have enough DPS, a strat some people use to kill stontalak now is just have 1 warrior agro sontalak, every assist and full disc from the start, clerics trying to keep him alive but he usually dies shortly after riposte disc is off, next warrior steps up, AE taunts, riposte discs, rinse and repeat till sontalak is dead. Works well.
But this is really only necessary for guilds just starting to do sontalak, or else your tank will have good enough equipment to have enough unbuffed HP to keep him alive easily.

He is lying, but you are also misinformed. Sontalak is still pretty easy, but not 3 man easy. My guild, Fusion of Flame (Terris-Thule), can do him w/ 30 people and he drops in about 5-10 mins into the fight. Almost every named NToV dragon proves harder.

If it takes more than 3 minutes, Sont will give you trouble. Guild has taken him a few dozen times, and the only times we've had issues is when the fight lasts more than 3 minutes. At that point the healers are LOM and people (DPS) start dying, his regen kicks in and you lose.
AE Taunt, /disc on, clicky's and 4 craps buffed before HP/regen stuff, and this guy falls with one person on his aggro list.
He died last night in about 90 seconds with 1 low hp aggro death on a side caster.

Gah, this guy is tough...the post below is right about following casters to the safe spot if you time your nukes wrong and get hit by his ae. Aggro control and positioning is a total must...if he gets to the casters, game over, try again.

Trak IS a candyass!!These dragons in NToV sit around all day,use entire guilds to wipe thier arse,and poke fun at all the weaker Kunark dragons.2 tight ,well-balanced groups can take down Trak with ease.This is NOT the case with Allmost all Velious dragons especially in ToV.Sont is the just the dragon in the entrance to ToV and he would deal out more dmg in the first 10seconds than Trak ,Gore,and Sev would the entire fight.Looks can be deceiving..

I wouldn't call sont JUST these dragon in the ent.. Sontalak is a lot harder than a lot of the ntov dragons(especially with him being made unslowable now) sont is pretty much just a nasty fight where you use some basic MTing and pretty much zerg him, usually use a lot of peeps and you gotta kill him fast or ur definately gonna wipe.
Ntov dragons on the other hand have much more HP but the fights are controlled so they are ez.
Although I agree with trak being a joke..

Yeah but the original poster was saying Trak looked cool, was saying anything about the difficulty in killing him.
/shrug a mob doesn't have to be hard to kill to look cool =) (imo Efreeti's are one of the coolest looking mobs in game and most of them are fairly easy.)

Raided him last weekend. Only the tanks/Main casters/Debuffers were hit by his AOE, as everyone else was parked behind the safe wall. This guy is one mean biatch. Took us four tries but we finally took him down. Key is for casters to run under him to cast and NOT go back behind wall if under 3 bubbles or so. If you fail this, he follows you and rapes all your casters =p. MEAN AoE that casts, I'd say, every 30 seconds or so. Dropped the Monk Bracer.

When I fought him, he wasn't waiting a minute to ae again that's for sure :) He's slowable but that ae is insane.. hit me every 15 secs max.
