fingered skeleton  

I've been camping this mob for weeks in order to do the shackle quests and monk epic 1.0. Why? Because I feel like it and for bragging rights.
Now here's what I found while wasting hours and days of my time. The "fingered skeleton" no longer spawns on the Erollisi Marr server. Undead Jesters? Absolutely they spawn like crazy and so does Crackling Bones. You will only ever see the "thick-boned skeleton" PH for the fingered and it appears 99% of the time.
So save yourself precious time and energy and forget this BS quest.

watch for dots when at low health

I was just camping the Undead Jester for nearly 2 hours and decided to kill the Fingered Skeleton near there for my 25 Monk Iksar. Happy to say that I killed him four times and got the 3", 4", 3.1", and 2.5" fingers in that order, and I only had to kill him four times...now if only the Undead Jester could do that...but, alas, I'm still camping him...

Also, spawn spot for the Jester is pos184 pos129...just in the doorway between the other 2 stables. Killed him 4 times in 2 hours, 2x berserker club.

I've been camping the Fingered Skeleton for about a week straight, every evening, and just camping out in the hallway at the end of the night. Starting to wonder if I'll ever get out, since the only thing I leave for are bandages :) So far I've gotten the 2.5", the 3", and the 4", I'm still missing the 3.1" finger. I've often considered bring my main in there just so I didn't have to destroy the FS and cash I'm picking up, but at least the XP is decent...sort of...

Here's the down-low on what I've gathered: Each mob in the vicinity, including the Fingered Skelly is on an 18m 18s timer, give or take a few seconds. Solo at level 21/22 I could keep the 3 spawns in the room to the south, the 5 spawns in all three rooms, and the fingered skelly spawn cleared, unless I ran out of bandages, or ran into a few hitches with more than one caster in a room. I've only died twice while there, once while chasing a green into a bunch of his friends, and another time when a FD failed after getting nuked for 181. The key to staying alive is PATIENCE.

Each spawn can be one of these mobs:
Burynai excavator
Burynai Excavator
Burynai sapper
Burynai burrower
Lesser iceboned skeleton
Lesser charboned skeleton
Greater Skeleton
Greater Scalebone
Thick Boned Skeleton (this being the rarest of all possibilities)

The burynai can be shaman, necromancers, or warriors. The skeletons are warriors.

The spawn in the north-west corner of the middle of the three rooms can also occasionally spawn a Skeleton Cook. I've seen him 3 times, and he's never been anything but a melee, and always been a light blue con. I have yet to see any of his special drops.

The mob that wanders the hallway from it's spawn point just to the north, down to the middle of the south room is your Fingered Skeleton PH. He will spawn in one of two locations(Approximated with a ruler to an EQatlas map); p25, p50 or n70, p40. More often than not he spawns at the northernmost loc. If you sit in the hallway, in between the north room and the middle room, you will agro the PH and nothing else, without any problems. Beware where you're sitting though, the mob that you'll find in the southern room of the 3 actually spawns in the hallway before wandering into the room, and will occasionally wander back out to the hallway, so you want to make sure you're out of his agro radius. I've found that the Fingered Skeleton pops about every other spawn, occasionally skipping one, and sometimes doubling up. His common drops seem to be a FS scimitar or hammer, a burynai mask, the occasional bone chips, and the 2.5" and 3" fingers. The 3.1" and 4" fingers seem to be the rarest from what I've seen durning the camp, and in previous posts. Killing anything else in the area has no effect on the spawn rate that I can tell. I just did it to get some xp and break up the boredom ;)

Tips for keeping the area cleared:
-Casters WILL heal through walls, every time. There is only one place I found to be out of their range: the southeast corner of the room all the way to your south, so clear that room first! You'll have to pull your mobs there, and get them pushed tight into the corner to avoid the heals.

-Greens SUCK!! I can't really give you any solid tips for killing them, as they haven't really stuck to any method. Your best bet: FD if you get Clinging Darkness while you're attacking a green, and FD if they are sowed. So far killing them has gone best when pulling them to the corner previously mentioned, and chasing them down for the kill. They usually only get as far as the stables, and then I can FD agro off from anything else.

-Multiple casters in one room SUCK!! I almost died numerous times, and actually died once trying to pull the middle room with two necros and a shaman in it, two of which were dark blue to me. Finally managed to seperate them safely after an hour or so by clearing the room all the way to the south, and FD pulling to the corner they can't be healed from. I had to force myself to be very very patient, and it took more than one attempt.

-This is the perfect time to practice your FD pulling technique. Just remember to have infinite amounts of PATIENCE or you will die.

What one of the previous posters said is correct, all you have to do it sit and the Fingered or his PH will aggro you. On the eqatlas map there are three rooms at #3 on the map. I sat in the hall in front of the doorway to the most southern of those three rooms. I faced south. Sometimes I saw him walking towards me, and sometimes I never saw him and he aggroed me from behind...so I never figured out where he popped or what path he roamed...but sitting at this spot works, either he or his PH aggroed me about every 18/19 minutes without fail. I had to kill him 6 times to get the four different fingers, and he popped on an average of about once an hour for me. The four different fingers are, since I have not seen anyone list them all: 2.5 inch, 3 inch, 3.1 inch, and 4 inch. Hope this helps.

He spawns at the end of the hallway with only 3 stable rooms in them (first emtpy, second 2 burynai, 3rd one burynai) saw him 4 times in about 2 hours killing the spawn at that spot, drop all fingers in a row, no doubles.

Did this guy for 11 hours last night. Found the key to popping him or his place holder at least twice an hour, sometimes more.

Kill all the wandering MoBs in the loop. Loop being Stables all the way around to the back are back to the stables. There are at least 8 different areas for wandering MoBs to pop. At lvl 40 I was just training every single MoB in the loop back to the Fingered Skele spawn point. Killed 8 at a time, go pull more. After while I figured out it was just the wandering MoBs that needed killing.

Doing this I got the 2.5", 3" and 3.1" finger in about 4 hours. The place holder is a Thick Boned Skeleton. He can pop in the Fingered Skeletons place or just up the hallway a few feet.

The fingers are droppable, as soon as I walked into the tower and /ooc'd to ask if anyone was camping him someone offered me two of the fingers. I've still yet to get the rest (camped in an area I think is referred to as the stables,) but the names of the fingers appear to be different in their sizes. The two fingers I have are:
A withered 3.1" finger
A withered 4" finger

Good luck with the monk quest, this is the last part I need to finish this shackle.

does anyone know if the fingers are no drop or what casue i wanna take my shammy for this damn skele tat sounds like a horrible spawn to camp

anyone know the actual location that this thing spawns in? as in the /loc?

Some peole say he spwans every 15mins some half hour. However I have camped this guy and seen him once in 2 hours. I've tried everything from wiping out the floor to wiping out basically all of Kurns out of pure anger. Should this Mob be camped with you sitting right there in the stable area? The times I've seen him were right after I cleared the whole basement. I've seen him pop and other times hes already there. It's frustrating because I know he is not a rare spawn I think he just doesnt like me hehe. But wiping out Kurns is a good stress relief anyway.

I killed him for the second time today, the first time he dropped a Finger and a Fine Steel Scimitar but this time he dropped a Ruined Scaled Gorget, A Saphire, and another Fine Steel weapon.

now where does he spawn?

FYI, I am a cleric and used an undead DD on him, so he is undead, not a monster. I got a furbie mask off of him and a finger.
