Aaryonar guards the entrance to the main ring of the northern wing. He will come to the aid of any other dragons if aggro'd before he is killed except the five in the very northern hall. While it seems he will always come with his guards if they are aggro'd, he can be single-pulled from them. Beware of the guards and Aaryonar's long aggro range, and that the top step leading to him is extremely slippery.

Solo 77 Ranger - i'm nothing special - Baz Geared 17k hps, 2400ac - With Journyman healer merc, pulled to hall way, set myself as puller in grp so merc would stay behind, fight lasted 15min give or take, poped a couple HoT and was good to go. Don't use your manna all at the begining, long fight. may want to heal yourself when he rampages. just HoA'd him down a bit... long fight

been trying to 2box him but he always gates out , waste 2hours + for this mob

He will only die once Eashan ( though not tied to Vulak spawning he IS spawned to killing Aary who is linked to spawning Vulak (dumbest thing ever good job sony) ) and all the Lords are dead maybe just in his cavern not sure about this I always have killed Lady Nev when I go around and come around for the remainder so not sure if he'll die if Lady Nev is still up. Dagarn is not linked to him at all I just killed aary with Dagarn still up.

Considering that Aaryonar is the "Gatekeeper" to NToV, and you have to go THROUGH her to get to pretty much all the named dragons in the North wing, I somehow doubt that you have to kill the other dragons first. Eashan perhaps, since he's in the room immediately before dealing with Aaryonar. When I was camping Dagarn for my uzi, I never bothered with Eashan. Just walked over Aaryonar and kept going.

Ok so i see all these posts about how he's pulled into the hallway and pinned, to avoid roamer flurry drake adds, but no one has mentioned how you bypass the call of the zero that he casts. Does anyone have a good strategy for pulling this guy into the hallway if duoing him? As soon as you get to the top of the steps (the slippery one) he agros and immediately summons you to his belly via Call of the Zero. with no levi, you're stuck in his pit unable to get over the mini wall back into the hallway, and you have a good chance that a flurry drake will roam by his pit and add. Would shooting off an arrow from the almost top step and then running back to hallway work or will he just CoZ you to him anyway?

I can't find the posts anymore, possibly because I'm lazy, but I was under the impression that the named mobs in the North wing were on a 1 week respawn. It appears that, at least now, they are on a 4 1/2 day or less respawn timer. I killed off Aaryonar on Tuesday with a couple friends, and he was up again on Sunday well before the hour of his death.

Sometimes, at 20%, Aary will gate/tether and be restored to full health and be completely dispelled. I'm in the process of killing him now, and he's done this 15 times. It's been over an hour. After this long, I'll break eq before I let him not drop something. Aary has had this issue for almost a year now, maybe even longer, I've bugged it more than once and nothing's been done. I'm glad they fix LoN problems within hours while real issues in the game are forgotten.

Dropped him today 2 boxxing a 75 warr and a 75 cleric warr 21k hp 3k+ ac had one add took about 20 minutes and 10% mana on cleric .Looted amulet and shield with baby pally no agro from chickens cause had good faction.P.S I was there spamming heals but agroed chickens when I clicked my ornate legs ,They seem to hate pet hammers in there! so i was battle rezzed and just watched fight.

So been twinking an alt with some north tov loots. When i started to encounter a problem with aary. He will gate when i get him to 20% ending the encounter with no aggro, as if the fight never occured. Someone said something about keeping all hatchlings dead. I have done that as well and aary would still gate. Then after a few times pulling him, keeping all the hatchlings/eashans guards/flurry mobs, and knocking him back down we are able to kill him. Happpy we killed aary, but still not knowing for certain what we did to kill him. So we have the same problems 3 days later, when he repops.

I didn't see it mentioned here, but I just killed him the other day and he repeatedly used the most annoying spell in EQ . . . Call of the Zero.

Is his AE LOS? ie--can we turn him around and nuke him from behind or will his AE still hit us? And if his AE is not LOS, how are healers expected to heal MA if he's walled to far away and we are on the ramp not able to see MA? It seems as though us nukers have no purpose on this fight. This is all presuming our MR is too low to resist AE.

His AE will still get you. You need to pull him into the hallway, and use the little cutouts that have the firepots in them as a safe spot for your casters to stand. If you pull him far enough into the hallway you won't be hit by the AE when standing in the notches.
Yesterday 8, that's right, 8 members of Dark Fidelity downed this beast! We had a bard in the main group, and a bard in the 2nd group with the Shaman. Both bards were singing the resist, and mana songs. This battle is all about positioning, because if done correctly the cleric will remain full mana for the entire fight. Our little miniraid consisted of:
Zakhrin (myself) 65 Enchanter
Kalesk 65 Warrior
Tyslia 65 Ranger
Dinja 65 Shaman
Stregger 65 Rogue
Lyrichol 65 Bard
Nitesinger 65 Bard
Binge 65 Cleric

Unfortunately the only loot that dropped was 2 of the circlets. Needless to say Dinja and Tyslia walked away happy.

was pretty easy just have to be ready for the chickens if a blue chicken hits a cleric ur in some deep **** with the huge mana drain, it can be dispelled with annul/nullify magic.

This weekend our guild the Spirits of Fire finally found Aaryonar awake and taunting us from his precious pit and behind his guards. It took the lessons of one afternoons fiasco attempt to return vindictively and gain access to NToV for seven days.
There were only 27 of us, with one non combatant , ally, coth Mage that was essential. It was possible with 2 monks pulling to clear the guards and single pull Aary. Casters avoided AOE mana drain by staying on the ramp behind the wall while melee pushed Aary into the wall hard. One tank stayed on named while others peeled off and killed the chickens which spawned every few minutes. It took quite a while to achieve success, and hope to are not attachhed to having much mana 8)

Just took him down for 2nd time...long fight, but his AE is crap. Did not land on me once in about 15 mins. 350ish MR with bard singing =)

Okay, so my guild is Enlightened Dark from Tarew Marr, and the other night we finally managed to take down Quarm in the Plane of Time. We were all very happy to 'beat' PoP persay, so upon beating Quarm we were given a couple of days off from Raiding. So we decided to take 6 people and see how much of NToV we could do, we brought:

65 Warrior
65 Cleric
65 Shaman
65 Monk
65 Bard
65 Rogue

We are all PoTime geared, myself as the warrior has 7592 HP Unbuffed, Cleric had FT15, etc. So we cleared the Hub all the way to Aary which took a little over an hour, and then we cleared the chicken mobs.

It was fairly easy for us to split Aary's guards, and we engaged Aaryonar in a very short time. The Cleric hid behind the wall to hide from AE, while the shaman was out a bit further. The Shaman Malosed, then got a couple resists on Slow, but it landed after I belive 3 attempts, he then got behind the wall to hide from AE Too. After that it was easy as cake.

Other mobs we killed with one group that night: Lord Kreizenn, Dagarn the Destroyer, Lord Felshak, Lord Kelorek'Dar(sp?), and Zlexak. It was a fun night that we hope to do again soon !

Honest to god, people like you amaze me. PoTime gear and you're killing NToV mobs, nice. Congratz on killing a mob that's way beneath you. Now some up and coming guild that NEEDS that loot to progress has to wait another week to get all the loot that you let rot in NToV. And then they might even have to compete with another guild and blow their shot.

Hope you're proud of yourself. Why don't ya go back to Crushbone and see if you can take on the Emperor too?

i dont know about a year ago when you posted this, but nowadays does anyone even go back to NToV except to see what they can do with a small force like these guys did?? no one i hear of is doing velious to grow... they can get way better loot killing in OoW, GoD, or DoN zones now.. especially most will just head for planar progression instead of trying to get faction to do HoT or something, sheesh.. lol that is funny to get mad over. i dont think there are any guilds this would interfere with nowadays, unless they are just using this zone for practice on ae mobs and such; which is almost the same difference to me.

Hi all,
Any idea on what Aary's hp are, or what he hits for? I'm thinking we can take him on something solid, but haven't given him an attempt so just erring on the side of caution. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Can this accursed affliction be cured by any means? I tried RC but only have the first rank, which was not effective. Does remove curse or a higher rank of RC work?

Radiant Cure works, but not every time. The AE doesn't last long anyway, but if you let it go full duration you're medding from zero again obviously.

Smoked him last night ( and the night before... patch ) 39 people in raid, avg lvl 63, was our first time in NToV. Took all of about 5 minutes from pull to dead ( before any of the chickens respaned ) dunno how the monks singled him, but it did not take them very long.

We cleared Eashen's room, then paci'd the 2 drakes by the steps, pulled him donw by eashens room, had casters hide inside. Tried slamming him into a wall first time... he just poped thru it and cme back with friends. Have to realy balance push to keep him from going into walls.

After the latest patch I'm not certain if it happens, but when we came to ntov to find out that Aary was indeed charmed by Lord Feshlak. Since feshlak was permarooted the pull wasnt too hard but we got a couple adds due to feshlak aggro during fight. This happen to anyone else?

I am not a monk, so I do not know how to split him, but here is how it goes while he is being pulled. In the hall with the steps up to Aary, have the MT stand midway in the hall, making sure all hatchlings are dead. Have everyone down the ramp near where Eashen of the sky's room is, making sure Eashen is dead. That blocks the AE, so this is where casters and clerics will stand. Aary's AE is a mana drain/attack debuff. It doesn't last long but it is one **** of a mana drain. Once Aary is pulled, let the MT get aggo and go defensive, having the clerics start rotation at 3 seconds. Aary hits for a max of about 900, but is fully slowable. GET HIM SLOWED ASAP. Once he slowed, you can start the CH at about 5-6 seconds. You pin Aary on the left wall of the hall leading up the steps, which is also left of the ramp. Make sure you keep Aary poisitioned on his side and push him into the wall, so the back of the MT is to the wall, and that the MT is not out of heal range. Once the MT calls attack, all melee rush in and start fighting. Have one person call out the AE, he does it every 10 seconds. If there is an add, hatchling, guard, anything, EVERYONE BUT THE MT has to rush to kill it. You can have the casters call this so everyone knows. Make sure you don't have aggro on Aary as well. Also, keep a bard next to the clerics playing mana song so they won't run out of mana so fast. And I cannot stress how imperative it is to keep him slowed as best as possible through out the entire fight. This is a VERY long fight, we did it with 31 people, no deaths. Most of were 60-65 though. Once Aary dies, get phat loot, and move on through the rest of NToV. Good luck to all who try.

To pull Aary:

1) Enchanter (me) goes to the top of the steps (do NOT get above the steps or youre FOOKED cuz you slip and slide and come into his aggro range and youre dead :P).

2) Send Wizard1 eye up and out into pit, target Guard on left. Send Wizard2 eye up and out, target Guard on right.

3) Assist Wizard1 (who should be on steps behind you). Pacify (Recommend Cha over 250 for this) left guard. I had pacify resisted one time with 261 cha so far (pacified em 3 times, one wipe and one no-pull).

3) Assist Wizard2. Pacify right guard. Wizzys RUN back after this or they got no mana.

4) Drop into pit, TURN to make sure no interrupt, and tash (good thing to have an emote here to let the raid know he's pulled). As SOON as you drop into pit he's a comin so you gotta have your wits about ya. And he is not in range from the steps, though if you could possibly get your balance on that slippery spot you could tash from there, I've flubbed it before there so not a good idea.

5) MA standing on steps tags with bow when you're dead. He came single both times.

Yes, tashacide is an ugly thing but it is necessary for Aary as you MUST have him slowed ASAP. Since Aary is a long fight, you can consent someone to drag your corpse, they can do this from the steps and rez you behind the wall so you can get mana while not getting hit by his dot (have the cleric that is in the chicken-fighting group do this, not a CH cleric). Have another chanter C ya or gather mana. Chanter is pretty much useless this fight (our nukes take FOREVER to cast so we'd be oom cuz of the dot anyway, and rune isnt needed if you got a good CH chain which we do 8)) so I just nuked with the wizard on 2nd cpu and waited till battle was done.

Btw, I don't know the rules on other servers, but on Xev if you kill Aary, NToV is yours till he spawns again 8). The other dragons (killed 5 so far) are pansies compared to Aary.

We brought 37 to kill aary, almost all over 60, half of em 65. Estimate 200k hp.

New as of today, the guards CAN be split. We used a bard's harmony song and a monk to pull. Worked like a charm.
