So im getting mixed signals here.. can he be charmed anymore? Im hearing DC only and not like Befriend animal or higher spells.. which is true either or one or both? When i read about this little "exploit" I was just like thats so not true heh so thanks soe for not letting me get to try something cool heh.
This is hillarious. Two friends and I went to camp Lodi and I being bored started looking up mobs in the zone. So off I go, thinking I am gonna hit this mob with my pet and run back to Lodi camp. NOOO! It didn't hit my pet, so I got it down to 55% before buddy got down to me. So long story short, my pet can solo Coludoth, lol. (54 cleric pet)
Popped in to IC to see that Lodi was up went to go DC this guy like I did a few times within the last 2 months and get the message this NPC can not be charmed What a load he was so fun to have as a pet
Confirmed. Just tried to charm him today and got the "This NPC cannot be charmed" message. That pisses me off, since this was half the reason I even got DC in the first place
This turtle is found under an island in the southwest corner of the zone. If you zone in from Eastern Wastes turn right and follow the shoreline around the island. The first group of small islands you come to (on southeast corner) is where he is located. He is close to the last small island. He is very difficult to find the first few times if you do not have track.
I have never seen him above the water on the island.
This is the turtle that Druids use to Dire Charm and kill Lodizal. He has 70,000hp and max hits for 70. When buffed and given two weapons he can double quad (8 hits) for 70 at a time. He can kill Lodizal without ever being healed and finish with about 50% health.
It's quite fun... at least the first 30 times.
If for some reason he is killed (I've done this a few times for fun) he respawns in about 2 hours.

I ran across this turtle at 57 and was surprised at the shear number of HP. I decided to solo him but knowing it would take a long time and alot of arrows I put it off.
59 Ranger withOUT Endless Quiver and withOUT outside buffs of any type.
I made 6 packs full of arrows and kept regen on myself. Whenever regen brought my health up I would melee him until I was down to 40% and then would kite him again. Took me about 90min - 2 hrs but I did it. He turned at 49% and I chased him underwater for quite a while. He is very resistant to magic, mostly resist to fire but I got immolate to stick a couple of times. I don't know how many other classes could solo him without outside buffs or heals, but a ranger should be able to do it around level 51.
Take it as a challenge, if you are a class other than ranger see if you can kill this thing solo without outside buffs prior to 59. No charm doesn't count.
he's used by dire charm druids to kill lodizal all the time on brell. I hope this pisses everyone off.

Enchanters can supposedly do this too, I read a huge post about it on some druid forum on what a "wonderful creature this is". Pfft.
Though it does annoy me that people are using a helpless quest NPC with a bagillion hitpoints to VERY EASILY kill a highly contested mob... I wouldn't exactly call it an exploit. SoE is who decides what is Dire Charmable and how many hit points it has, this is more abuse than anything.
first off ive seen 2 65 wars ( dorf and i think welf) work him to about 70% % pretty fast maybe about 5 mins max .....they were switching taunt with agro procers for a while but Welf eventualy got ful agro and started to take some dmg....the dwarf pulled through and too taunt eventually... then about 9 mins into fight both were almost dead and a couple of there guildies...(cant remember name of guild..) 2 clerics and a wiz came all red too me i think wiz was 59 1 cleric was 59 i think but the healed um and then eventually he died...i was 40 at the time...but then all of us started chattin and i was thinking maybe someone could charm this lil mother fer...(there was one post that said they did) then use him to beat up lodizal..ya know lil secret weapon maybe...who knows thats my thoughts
Gosh Dang! Don't be fulled by the green con! I was on my way to turn in stuff for cloak quest when I saw him, I was half health, but he was green so I figured what the hey, and my 35 ranger wacked his ass. He smacked me back for 70 hp's of damage and commenced to opening a up a can on me. I ran but then my sow started fading, not sure if I lived yet cause I pulled the plug. Hope I made it...
For anyone Who hasent figured out What this guy is good for, you should listen, He is for a Faction quest with Kael, and If you can use DC, why not use it on him then camp Lodi??? 65 dru Easily took him out with this turtle. Even Funner when you put shrink on him, and watch this lil turtle rape Lodi. Just a hint of advice if you wish to camp lodi. Good Hunting to you all Sythen Soulstalker
first of he not a monster class (if its a he) , its a animal class .
now i have been using him as a DC pet and he rocks , hes got 50k hps (3k heal restores 6 % health 100 divided by 6 = 16.6 x that by 3k and you get 49800)
he doubles for 70 max and bashes , is hated by the gnolls in iceclad , and has a bug with SoE and teleporting to his spawn point and getting stuck there .
his regen rate is that of a 5th level mob even though hes got the stats of a higher leel one .
hes almost 100 % MR , have gotten my Magic based DoTs off on him a few times and landed epic a few times , hes great fun to kill , but doesn't drop anything.
Ok thanks for letting me enlighten you all have fun..

With dire charm he is charmable, it's the only way actually. Seen 4 blue tracking wolves up so I decided to charm the turtle, I think someone failed the 8th shawl. Anyway I sicked my pet after one and the rest chased me instead of the pet (so my pet tanked it singally). I couldn't snare or root them so I ran around in circles till he finished the first and did the same thing over till they all died. There was one differently named in the bunch that dropped the tracking wolf collar. BTW the wolves summon so it's prolly not a good idea to kite them. Prolly not something you can do regularly seeing how the shawl quest is so hard.
Me (65 War) and a 63 Druid killed him in about 15-20 minutes waiting for a 8th shawl raid. The annoying part was that he started running at more than half health and dove into the ocean. Luckily my swim is at 200. after about 15 minutes of swimming behind him we killed him, and he didnt drop a thing. I came here hopeing to find out this guys purpose. Guess I still don't know :/

hey peoples i r a 55monk on prexus and i only got this SoB down to 85% in 25mins! i was going to kill him and it was possible for me to but i was talking to a guildie and was running and forgot about the agro and then i stopped to see if he was still on me but i guess he didnt like me anymore "cough" i could have had him "cough". have a nice day all =-),

A group of us decided to try to take him out tonight and we were (eventually) successful. It did take a while. The group was a lvl 45 necro, 47 warrior, 47 druid, 50 druid, and a 53 druid. DoT's landed about half the time. Snare, roots, Ro's, etc never worked for us. We used snare mainly to grab aggro. One of us would kite him around the others, with the necro's pet and the warrior following, doing melee damage. He has about 30K Hp's and hits in the 70's (on me) but runs at 1/2 health. The lvl 53 druid eventually did land a starfire, when he was very low on health. It seems he either resists a spell or takes full damage. He did not drop anything at all.

Posted:Nov 16 2002 at 6:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) you gotta be jokeing me a 58 ranger and a 54 druid killed this guy in 15 mins or so hehe you must have not had good dps to take that long
there is no way a 58 ranger and a 54 druid could kill this turtle in 15 min considering his very high MR almost if not 100%. I've seen 4 50+ warriors and 2 clerics one lvl 47 and one 52 take him out and I watched from begining and took them longer than 15 min and them all being greater damage dealers than a ranger and druid I find myself laughing at this post.
This guy has 32k hp like Bloodmaw, the kodiak in GD for the eyepatch quest, and like Trakanon. Lots of hp, don't mess with him, he must be for some quest (like Bloodmaw).
I'll add my name to the growing list of folks this little guy has beat up on. He was an indifferent green to my lvl 37 druid. He wouldn't talk to me so I tried to snare him. He reisted it and I was dead before I made it out of the water.
Came back to claim my corpse and tried again, this time on land. He resisted every spell I threw at him and came after me fast. Without SOW he would have gotten me for sure. Finally got far enough ahead to cast Gate and retreat.
After reading the posts below, I'm glad I didn't try a third time.
i am a lvl 55 Druid, and with me and my lvl 60epic monk (mod) we took him out in 1hour 32 minutes and 48 seconds, meleeing, hes got the most fekkin HP i have ever seen, but to kill him it it possible, He also dropped a Knotted turtlebone ring for me and my monk the 9th time we killed him, he rarely drops sh*t but when he does its nice crap.

I was sitting medding on the island next to him and the little sob came up and killed me while i was medding. i wasafk at the time and wen i got a rez and came bak i wante some revenge. i tried to take him out but he resisted 30 snares. Leave this guy well alone
"I was sitting medding on the island next to him and the little sob came up and killed me while i was medding."
--Actually Corudoth is indifferent to all, in my experience. There are other turtles that roam the Iceclad area Corudith is in. Lodizal is one, but as his spawn is almost constantly being monitored, he usually doesnt last long enough to wander into afk medding players. Theres also a Ancient Green Tutrle, i believe that wanders the area as well.
"i tried to take him out but he resisted 30 snares"
--Since the release of Velious (possibly Kunark, never spent much time there), there are several mobs that do not resist as their level would otherwise indicate. During a personal encounter with Corudoth, none of us in my group landed any spells of any kind on him, which leads me to believe he's 100% resistant to all spells.
On a more firsthand note, my friend (36 bard), his sister (53 druid), and myself (33 ranger) thought it would be fun to play with the insanely resistant green-con turtle. She got to FM, gave us both SLN, cloro, and the best DS she had. We engaged, none of us being able to land any spells at all (not that we were surprised...we had heard about his insane resists beforehand.) Both my friend and myself were landing out hits as often and as hard as if we were fighting a snow cougar. Not only that, but the turtle seems to attack a bit faster than the avg. mob, so he was taking significant dmg from the DS. Of course the druid was there for a superior heal whenever the need arose. We ended up calling it a strategic withdrawl and fled with our proverbial tails between our legs until he de-aggro'd. I checked my log and calculated 1111dmg from myself (melee, not ds), and roughly 786dmg for my friend (same), plus about 2376dmg from our damage shields. He was missing possibly a 10th of his health at best. Im sure hes not meant to be killed, and hence has no loot to speak of, but id love to see him go down just because he's so dayem fubar ^_^

Posted:Apr 08 2002 at 7:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am a lvl 50 druid and couldn't touch this f(a)g! He resisted 22 ensnare spells, and like 6 root spells, and I couldn't cast my best nuke (starfire 612dmg) cause he was to fast and he would catch up to me and bash me! I hate this little dude, he will die if I ever see him again.
I acidentially casted greater wolf form on me in ice clad and got killed. I went to get a rez from a friend (lvl 51 cleric). On the way to a bridge i saw a cute little turtle. So umm i decided to snare him. but it diddnt take. at that time i was in the 30ish lvl range. He hit me for around 70 dmg a hit and hit fost like the cougars of quicker. Didnt cast any direct damage spells on him because he was to freaking fast.Ran to the cleric at the bridge. He tried to kill him but couldnt even touch him.we ran and i casted sow on him, and made it. But in all that I forgot to get the freaking rez!!!
Is he able to be charmed? I've never tried yet on the fact that i've only seen him once.
lvl 60 now hunting him for my lost ballsac that he bit off. I'll eat his if i find it. Yum Yum Yum (groan) (smacking of lips).
This is one tough little bastage...are you sure he's Lv 5?? If so, I feel pathetic, b/c my 51 Paladin was running through Iceclad, when I decided to kill him for the hell of it. Well, I was low on health and mana to begin with, b/c I figured it would be a hack-hack-dead kind of a thing. So this bugger whacked me fast and pretty hard and my hps were quickly running low. Then I tried to root him and he resisted, so I ran(lucky for sow) far enough away and camped out. Lol, a 51 paladin running from this thing! ROFL! talk about an undercon. btw, I'm no schlock...I soloed a wurm in SF not long ago...granted I could kill this turtle, was just a little unexpected..so, just to warn people before you try to pick a fight with this guy.
hyas everyone i to as well as many others went to EW and saw the lovly turtle standing there looking so tempting to kill, caned him and saw a temptation to exterminate him but got whomped and resisted everything ti threw at him. i got another guildie a lvl 47 wizzy and myself a lvl 50 necro and tried something probably no one thought of, had the wizzy kite him around and had my pet follow with taunt off and just kept damaging him till death, took about an hour but was greatly dissappointed when i saw no loot. waisted and hour for nothing, unless u have a few people there to kill fast don't waistyour time with him
I too made the classic mistake with this guy. Jumped him at lvl35 with my SK thinking he would drops something rare, instead I was the one getting dropped. Only FD saved me from the nasty little nips (for 70-80 a time) this little turtle was giving me.
We have been friends ever since then hehe, going to get my epic and give him a rematch (don't tell him though )
i was exploring iceclad with my 29 druid when i spotted this guy on track.Thinking he was something cool that might drop something useful. When i finally found him,i discovered he was a turtle feeling sorry for him and figuring he wouldn't have any loot anyways,i let him alone.Reading this i am really thankful i left him alone lol.
The person who made that post about a hugely valuable belt was talking about Lodizal, not Corudoth! Get your turtles straight.
And he may con green, but he sure bites hard and fast... two blues of health off me at level 35, between the time I failed to snare him and the time I scrambled out of the water onto the shore. Ouch. Leave this peaceful little guy alone.

Ok just got smeared by this thing ( man and i thought Kizdean Gix was an undercon), I see posts saying that he is part of a quest. Would someone please post what quest? Thanks.
Yes, Epic Heroes on Vazaelle took him down as stated. One minor correction, though. He isn't entirely MR. Darn close though. I managed to land a few Enticements on him for just over 1,000 HP. I think I even got Conflagration to land once, but I'm not sure. Forget rooting and snaring -- he seemed especially resistant to those.
well when my guild Epic Heroes on Vazaelle thought Lodizal was gonna spawn, this guy did. He didnt hit me for hard as a 52 pally, like 80's or so. He has a NASTY regen rate, and takes a long time to kill, we were on him for like 5 minutes. Also, he has a TON of HP's, and is 100% MR. We had about 15 people who were all 45+, killed him easy though no deaths, and he dropped a fruit, which one of our rangers put on him :P
Geez people it doesnt take alot to kill it. Me and 5 other guild members a 58war 56war 55druid 44clr 45clr 36druid and me (37war) took this baddie down. It took some time, but we took it and nobody died, or even got past 2 bubbles left.
ROFLMAO !!! "Its not that Hard" OMG it Hurts !!!!! Lets see, the mob is a green con to everyone allowed in the zone. Now look at your group. Do you see anything wrong ? And it got peeps down to 2 bubs (I assume since you said no one got lower then that, then you had to have had some that got that low ) And its not that hard ? LOL !!!!
/Falls off chair laughing
Sorry for the flame : ) just struck me as ammusing and I thought I would have some fun at your expense.
This is obviously EQ Karma for players that run around killing every green mob they come across.
i figured greeny right....WRONG..im 35 druid this guy quad hit me for 96 and resisted all spells..which knowing that he was 100% immune to magic would have help if i know b4...ohh well seems like it takes a few 50+ tanks so im outta luck.
This turtle is easily soloable by any mage who has their epic pet. When the turtle tries to hit the epic pet, you get the following message: Corudoth tries to bite Jasober, but is INVULNERABLE!
Drops nothing and has a ton of hp, I took a log of it, so I'll eventually add it up. When Malad, your fire spells will land.
