Saw him SW of the Smith Ty vsa camp and pathed south, and stopped at 1620, -871.

I had been sitting at 1156, -2107, 27 killing everything which pathed near, I never killed:

jackal
madman
giant rattlensake

I was going about working on my Hunter list and Erg Bluntbruiser was my next target and after some time I finally got the spawn cycle down. There's some mis-information below.

Here is what I found and was successful. First off stay in the southern half of zone +2500 and under on the N/S directional. PH's and Erg only spawn in the sand, so stay in that area of zone. Brewalls location has Erg listed, but that's just 1 of many spawn points.

WARNING: KILL ALL TARANTULAS FIRST. Erg is KOS to tarantulas and I had him spawn several times before I realized what was killing him. Once I killed the tarantula's I was able to spawn him in about 30 mins and had time to get to him. FYI I was using a 115 Bard with selo's so track/speed were not the issue, he dies fast. So you want to kill that trash until there are none left.

Spawn timer is on the 64 second cycle as mentioned several times below.

Spawn PH's I found
an Asp (This one is key as it's the only unique mob on this cycle)
a madman
a skeleton
an orc raider
a sand scarab
a jackal
a desert tarantula
a puma
a zombie
a rattle snake
an orc warrior
a shriveled mummy.

FYI Scrounge.
All PH's above are on BOTH Erg and Scrounge cycle (Except for "an asp" or "a giant rattlesnake"). Both of these are very common PH's but unique to each cycle. I did have a sand giant that spawned on Scrounge cycle but it was rare, and it could occur on Erg's cycle as well.

So key is kill all tarantula's in area. Then mass kill until you find "an asp" for erg's cycle or "a giant rattlesnake" for scrounge's cycle (if you want it).

Good luck! Hopefully my painful time here will save you some headaches if you wish to find this guy.

Did it today... Can confirm there are some mobs missing from PH list... I personally saw an orc warrior, a shriveled mummy, a zombie, an asp >>> i ended up just searching out the 66 sec timer mob when i ran outta mobs to kill that were listed in the list of ph's for this mob... that worked fine >> the rattlesnake PH is just a rattlesnake, did not see a giant one?

It was killed by a mob

Been doing Hunter, saw it pop on track, ran to it and lost tracking before I got close. There was a sand giant @ the area, guessing that killed it.

This mob spawns as a cycle in South Ro, similar to the Ancient Cyclops:

He is found in the southern half of the zone, in the same area that the AC spawns.

64 Second respawn timer on his cycle (1 minute 4 seconds) . Most of the other mobs in the area have a 32 second respawn timer so it makes it a little easier to find.

Other mobs on the cycle:
"a madman" <-- Unique cycle mob that once you see you know you are on the right spawncycle.
a skeleton <-- Possibly another unique cycle NPC
a sand scarab
a jackal
a desert tarantula

Spawned for me after following this cycle for about 20 minutes. 1PM Ingame time.

"a madman" is also a mob in a separate spawn cycle for Scrounge

This method worked flawlessly still in early 2021... additional mobs on cycle include:
-- an asp
-- a rattlesnake
-- an orc raider
-- a puma
-- a skeleton (unique to named cycles, it seems)
-- a desert tarantula (unique to named cycles it seems)

And yes "a madman" was common and made it easy to identify you were on the right PH (as do "a skeleton" and "a desert tarantula")

Been trying for this on TLP. I've had 2 "a madman" up at once so it may not be unique to the cycle afterall. I've got Scrounge twice, so it's possible there is a Scrounge cycle and an Erg cycle.

Add a puma to this. I killed a madman and 64 seconds later I got a puma and also a giant rattlesnake

Decided to try this without keeping track of the timer. Cleared all a madman, a skeleton, a sand scarab, a jackal, a desert tarantula, a puma and a giant rattlesnake in the southern portion of the zone and even with all of them down, never saw him spawn. Makes me think there has to be more on the list or a time component to it.

We need confirmation of information on this RARE (?) NPC.

Does he have a PH (or part of a cycle).

Does he roam or have a static /loc?

We have two different reported faction hits...

We have several drops mentioned, but only one actually entered. What does he really drop?

What does he look like in modern orc graphic era?

Happy hunting.
Saw him up, first time ever.

Faction: Orc -2

Dropped mace. Practically rarer than ancient cyclops and Terrorantula combined.

Erg Bluntbruiser gives a negative faction hit with the Dervish Cutthroats. He spawns a little left and forward of the zoneline to the Oasis. Very rare spawn. This Orc has about 250 hp and hits for a maximum of 22 (tested by sitting down).

he also drops an Orcish Morning star, not much better than the mace 1HB 8/43 10 or 11 stone weight.
Where do's he spawn at?

Where does he spawn at in sro? Anyone know?

I haven't seen him often but I have seen him traveling east to west close to the Oasis zone walking towards Ortallius and I've seen him traveling North along the west wall then turning and heading east once he reached the NW corner where Ortallius is and he proceeded on east past the Oasis zone line.

it's for the quest of low lvl non-twinks. the point behind the quest is to be low lvl, to have fun, and have the satisfaction of knowing you finally killed a name mob, and even got a standard wpn with a slightly more impressive name, hehe.

Conned even to my shaman at level 10, so yes you're right on level. His name was Erg Bluntbruiser though, not Bluntside.
