I just soloed him at 49 (ranger) using fear. He has a ton of hps, more than enything I've ever soloed by far. Took me five minutes of DOTS+Fear+melee to kill him. At the end I was at 10% mana and 50% health. He does not run faster than sow, though he runs a bit faster than normal raptors, even snared he's fast.
He dropped.... words and meat :(

I kited him fairly easily (51 bard, chant kite) and he dropped a Rapticor Hide. No idea if the hide is for anything.
I've read he also drops the Strong Raptor Guts used for the Iceforged Shackles quest.

The guts (for the shackles quest) drop off of raptors and sauruses too. If you're in Wake looking for the Strong Raptor Guts, your best bet is to take on the smaller guys. This guys is a freight train.

Special Tailoring
That'd be my guess. Likely some nifty armor can be tailored from it, maybe a Vest or Boots... but since tailoring recipes are a pain to find (not anywhere NEAR as many folks do the high end tailoring game as do smithing... for obvious reasons) it might either A.) still be a closely guarded secret or B.) not been discovered yet.

All tigeraptors can drop tigeraptor pelts. It is used to make the ranger-only studded tigeraptor armour. Some of these pieces are fairly nice, but they are not trivial even at a skill of 250. If you are interested in the recipes, they can be bought from one of the tailoring vendors in Thurgadin.

He said Rapticor hide ... not Tiggeraptor hide. I have soloed him 3 times (rng 52) and he does have alot of hp but not bad for a ranger to kill and gives great exp when you do.
All I got for loot is meat though. =(

I m druid lvl 44, no problem to kill him with my friend monk lvl 45 using Snare fear.
I loot a crushed opal on him on time, but nothing more in 6 fight with this Rapticor

i'm a 49 ranger myself.
he cons blue to me, and it was no problem getting snare and panic animal to stick on him..
he was dead in less than 2 minutes.

51 Pal 49 Enc and 45 Rog dropped this guy easy, lot of hps, but I think it hit for maybe 105

I foolishly snared Rapticor while playing my lvl 45 druid. He conned blue to me and I didn't realize he was a"named" raptor. My mistake.
I thought it would be a piece of cake at first. Root stuck and so did Drifting Death. In fact things were great until he was close to half dead.
That's when this fella started resisting roots. And when a root would finally stick, he would break it in about 10-15 sec. I went OOM just trying to root him. Finally zoned into Skyshrine to break aggro.
The one I fought was lower than level 45, but was a tough guy. 4 drifting deaths and about 12 55-damage roots didn't quite drop him to half health.

At one point he dropped Darkness while feared and even with Jboots, I could not catch up to him at all. He seemed like he was much faster than sow.
He dropped a crushed flame emerald. Which is for the Melee Bracer quest.

I managed.. (Through luck as much as skill) to solo this guy yesterday. He dropped the diamond for the velious armor quests. If only I needed that one.. Ah well

i am lvl42 and he conned white to me (and i tried to attack it, he hit for more than 100 ! outch)
