The Fungi currently sells for 25-30k. It's been dropping fast though, used to be 30-35k, and that was just a few weeks ago.

He's right, on Inny, it did sell for 10-14k at the time of his post, believe me, I've been on the server for years now, and was in awe seeing one that low, as a month before was in the mid 20k range. Now, yes, that price is wrong, it's back up to the 25-30k range on Innoruuk, sad to say, and the people that have it aren't too willing to even part with it for that much... go figure. Anyways, keep safe all, GL hunting.

Some people will never learn.

There's really good reasons why cross-server transfers of characters are so restricted. If you need to know why, ask someone who wants to go into economics; otherwise just be assured that you'll never ever see sanctioned cross-server buying and selling of equipment where that equipment is "physically" moved from one to another server.
Man!!

On my server fungi sells for 20k tops! I would seriously like to see verant enable some kinda of interserver trading. Perhaps free transfers with equipment. It seems to me like we should all be able to stabilize our economies a bit. Also Id love to make enough money trading between servers to buy a CoF 70-100k on my server. We did this camp today for about 3 or 4 hours. Our group cinsisted of level 60 enchanter(epic), 60 Shaman(epic), 57 warrior(epic), 60 Rogue(epic), 51 Druid, 56 cleric.

Most of the time I could not get a snare off on a mob until the enchanter tashed, sometimes malo was needed also. These are not very magic resistant, I was just pretty low but got the job done.

When pulling these it was pretty easy from what I saw. Only a few times were there more then 2 pulls. When pulling from the fort I suggest useing a mez pull until the spawn is broken. Once broken you can pull each spawn one at a time with a bow.

While in the battle you need to be carefull about them CHing. We had them CH a few times in battle and its not fun. Usually to avoid this I would Lower fire resist and then nuke when they were low on health. Have the enchanter stun the mob so it wont heal and be carefull about the adds that will heal. We noticed that alot of them were sowes and had haste so there are a few froglok shamans around thhere that will buff them.

In the 3-4 hours we were there 1 Robe of the living Fungus Dropped and 1 Tunic Dropped. The Kings only spawned 2 times. I did drop a few spells including Breath of Karana. I suppose the robe is common and tunic his rare.

Perfect strategy with only a lvl 50 enchanter
# Aug 16 2001 at 12:59 PM Rating: Excellent
Here's how to break king with a 50 enchanter.

Go to rock and jump right into the mote before the bridge. You will swim towards zone in and then turn left and go down a hole. This is the slim room because there's slime on the floor that makes you slide. You might need to kill about 2 frogs that roam outside this little jail cell. Jump in the moat right outside the slime room and swim around till you see a fork in the passageway, take the turn and go up. Be prepared to fight immediately because there will be frogs close to you pop up spot. The enchanter should be last so everyone else can run interference. The enchanter should have no problem mezing the illis frogs with dazzle. Make sure everyone assists, and I dont' recommend pet classes except mage.

From the jail drop in point go straight ahead and ignore the side jails. There is a small room here with 2 spawns. You can either pull them to the drop in point or rush the room. From here you can pull exit and the surrounding frogs if you like. I would clear out exit which is the room to the left with a door. Once exit is clear have the puller pull single roamers from the miconid area, marked by a door also.

Once the myconid door has been breached, have your puller pull up the right corridor all the way up to the king room. Once all roamers have been taken care of move to the king room. There will be a 3 spawn on the "throne" of the myconid king. Ignore them for now and hug the right wall until you get to the very back point of the room. The three spawn will not agro. Hopefully the king will not be up or this will be hell. Set up shop with buffs and then pull the 3 spawn, note the king ph. Kill the two side spawns and then wait a full 3 minutes before killing the king PH. Should any adepts appear switch to the adepts and tash and mez the reavers and warriors. Adepts and king should be handled by the warriors and a lvl 60 shaman. Shaman will be able to land the slow easily, although lvl 56 shaman gets same slow. You can go oom trying to land it though at lvl 56.

Party make up:
Warrior: lvl 54 or more, dependent on equipment
Cleric: noodle user is good because you can have a complete wipe out, noone's fault
Shaman: lvl 60 so that slow will stick without effort, if you can tash, malo can be lower lvl at 56+
enchanter: lvl 50+ with tash dazzle can stick on reavers and warriors, everyone switches to adepts when they show up.
mage: COH makes this a whole lot easier
monk/rogue: for true damage
or ranger for snare and damage or even wizard.

Perhaps this has worked, but I seriously discourage anyone from trying this with a 50 enchanter. Doing king with a level 50 enchanter is a corpse run waiting to happen.

Though theoretically an enchanter can mez a warrior and reaver with regular dazzle, they'll be facing a red mob, or potentially double red mob (Meaning, even if they gained three levels, the mob would still be red to them.) based on level variation. This requires at least a tash to even consider mezzing, as you indicated, which means the mob is beating on you while you mez, even with a shaman slow you will constantly be taking damage. This is incredibly mana inefficient as your cleric will have to heal your enchanter heavily after every add. Moreover, that's presuming that your shaman is on the ball and slowing everything as it comes in. If he isn't then more than likely you'll also be rezzing your enchanter pretty often.

50 also means no theft of thought, which is a MAJOR effect on downtime in Sebillis. The fact that the cleric will be expending so much mana on the enchanter, and the enchanter will be dying more than once and be oom from rezzes means this group will be facing a hell of a lot of downtime.

Moreover, even with the smoothest party there is a transition period of swapping mobs of at least 5-10 seconds. Which is, enchanter calling unmezzable add, main assist swapping, other assists swapping, then enchanter casting for 2 and a half seconds, possibly recasting, then everything is kosher. In the meantime you've got several mobs beating on the melees. More burden on the cleric for the weak end of the 'chanter. On top of that you would have to have a policy of no dots ever while in any battle, which will also increase your downtime while decreasing efficiency. Just get a 54+ enchanter, you get C2, you get glamour of Kintaz, your cleric will have more mana, your mobs will be dotted and die faster, and just everything will be good. =D

Now I know you're just cautioning ppl about my strategy but I'm trying to show people that they can use all the resources available. There is no reason for a lvl 50 anything to sit at seb zone for an hour or more because some group thinks it would be bad for them to take them on. With proper agro-management, and spell combination there is no reason a lvl 50 enchanter ever need die in a king group. I didn't die at 51 at all and we did great. The group I was with were excellent players.

I'm trying to make people think beyond the box of stand kill sit heal. There is agro management; target switching; and runner AI. Do most people understand that you can keep a mob parked in your camp and prevent any runners, ergo if no snarer then you can do this tatctic? Yes a lvl 50 may need to tash. A lvl 60 may need to tash. The conservative enchanter tashes everything anyway. At 40 mana there is no reason not to tash every mob in sight. This 40 mana give you a greater potential to stun and mez. If at lvl 50 you have to tash, your 1 second cast stun will be that more effective and possibly save everyone's life anyway.

If the enchanter is lvl 50 and tashes the mob the shaman should slow the mob. Theoretically the mob should now turn on the shaman, since slow is a higher agro spell. If that doesn't work the cleric should cast his stun which causes the mob to turn on him. The enchanter should cast his stun also and mez shortly afterwards. Noone should get hit in this scenario. You can substitute paladin stun for cleric, or druid knockback. These are all viable strategies which should be common knowledge to a well oiled group.

Like I said, I was there at lvl 51 and we did superbly well, AND everyone was FULL mana all the time. At no time was there danger. Ppl even went LD and we did fine. And this was not even a group that I knew at all, just a pickup group. If people say they can't operate at this peak performance, it's just an excuse. Study everyone's character and know their spells and skills. It will help your game immensely.

Enjoy. [I've posted a complete agro management strategy on the boards of eq.castersrealm if anyone wants to know more detail]

Yeah, this works, but once again you have to have a level 60 shammy and cleric babysiting the 50 chanter.

I play a 56 chanter, we did king with NO shammy and NO deaths for 4 hours or so, but with 253 cha i can mezz and slow most stuff there without tash, (not to mention ToT, c2) of course they are all btm, with one or two wtm. - And for you pple who havent learned, yes Cha has a HUGE effect on mezzes, try to do CR with base cha, no gear and you'll get lotsa resists, try with 200+ cha and you get few resists

Heres some final info.

While in jail cell room (room with 4 cells and water) you can pull the roamers from the center gate to mez and help kill faster. If you get both roamers this way you dont need to kill the right room or lower zone out.

King has HUGE group agro, so even if you are fighting a mob in the corner opposite king he will still agro. He usually starts chain healing a mob if its hurt though so let him burn mana while you finish off yer mob and get him after yer mob is dead.

King CAN be snared and slowed if you have mala/malo and tash set on him. He resists snare and tugur's insects about 4 out of 5 tries so let your melee get some decent agro or put avatar on them.

King CAN be taunted easily by a lvl 58+ melee class, so chain casting isn't so much of a problem unless yer cleric can't heal you fast enough.

Common drop: Fungus covered scale tunic 21ac 2str 2int -10dex -10agi 2.0weight all but pure casters can wear.

Rare drop: Fungus covered robe 14ac 15sta 4wis 10svfire? somethin like 0.4weight or somethin... monk cleric and druid usable.

Ultra rare drop: Fungus covered great staff 18dmg 35 dly 8wis 8int -10cha 5svdisease 5svfire 1.1weight eff: fungal regrowth 2hb Shaman / Druid ONLY.

Click is instant cast regrowth with snare effect. Not sure on snare percentage but it's enough. You can left click off the effect at any time and reclick when you set up camp.

Does NOT stack with spirit of wolf. You can put regen and sow in buff slots and depending which one you want to cancel, buff it first. IE if sow in first slot and regrow in second the staff click will cancel sow and stack with regrowth. This is the only reason the staff rules. getting 52 hps a tick helps extremely for buffing as a shaman.

If you are a shaman and are thinking about trading your staff for a tunic, don't... theres a reason this staff is ultra rare, it rules. You can always trade for a fungi tunic or camp it.

In my opinion staff should be worth twice as much as tunic, but since shamans dont know the uber usage of this, the price remains the same.

Been campin king with a 56 enchanter lately, and I'd say the only important things to remember when gettin ready to camp king are...

1) can you kill king without slowing him and while enchanter is gettin beat down trying to mez?

2) can your enchanter handle using 275 mana mezzes on lvl 56+ mobs that may come with king?

3) does your cleric heal fast enough that they could heal your enchanter and tanks very fast if need be?

4) do you have a shaman or mage with malo / mala? if not its no huge deal but if you have an option it makes life 10 times easier.

5) is your chanter good with tash, chain stun, theft of thought, manasink, glamour of kintaz? You basically cant slow reavers or adepts without tash so if your enchanter doesn't tash everything by habit you shouldn't be here.

6) can you melee classes kill king before cleric goes oom?

7) does your cleric buff too much and sit on low mana a lot?

8) got evac or an escape plan?

9) can you do corpse run without melee equipment?

those are just some questions to see whether or not you would be a good king group.

In my opinion the best king group would be
cleric
chanter
60 mage or 60 sham with mala / malo
warrior
ranger
monk
question???

Been hanging out in shrooms a lot lately since I hit 60. I have found a lot easier strategy to work with starting at zone in.

1) Group up, get some hp, haste, group resist magic goin.

2) slaughter the zonein stuff to the dropdown point at the first bridge you come to.

3) swim down the tube to the jail cell and finish up buffs... kill the one roamer that comes by the door if he agros by the time you are done. Wait for cleric and chanter to hit at least 80m for the next room.

4) swim thru the U tunnel and get up and kill the 3 or 4 mobs in this room (dont pull stuff outta the cells, they dont agro)

5) go thru gate and rush right room to make a decent kill spot, dont forget snare... noone likes a slacker =P

6) rush lower zone out room... hop on shroom first, mez adds.

7) open door to shroom area and sit in the little walkway till a roamer jumps you. By the time you are done killing adds you should have killed 3 or 4 shrooms.

8) hug right wall till fork in the road... take your sweet time and make sure any roamers that guard the way to juggs dont agro. (huge waste of effort and the adds never stop) Slip thru the small tunnel to the left leading toward king area and hug right wall so that you are opposite the run-up side of the king platform.

9) if king is up make sure you med fast and pull him down. (dont pull him down if he doesnt have any healer friends, you can drag a mob in front of platform with slow on so that king hops down solo)

IF king is UP and has healer friends, have a melee run up on platform and get agro and come back down for the chanter to pull off with tash and mez.

King fight should last 2 minutes. If you take longer than 3 minutes you will probably need to zone, because you aren't doing enough damage.

10) if king isn't up, just remember which mobs were on the sides and kill one of them first, and one of them last.

--King fight--
King spawns in the center / back part of the platform. If you were to run straight up the platform youd run straight into the king or his placeholder reaver.

You won't be able to snare king. Period. Even with tash + mala / malo you'd probably have to cast 20 times or more. Bring an add and keep it mezzed right near king so he doesn't run.

Primary tanks like war, pal, sk set in on king... dont bother trying to taunt with spells other than lifetap because lifetap is probably the only spell that will land.
5 seconds later your secondary tank damage dealers set in.. (monk rog ranger)

keep rune and berserker spirit memmed for emergency tank heals if cleric goes low and you dont have a secondary. Dont str buff on purpose if all you have to work with is berserker spirit, so the damage deflection shield spell will take hold.

bard should try any magic resist debuff songs, mana songs, etc during fight.
shaman should chain heal and debuff adds to help chanter. Toss a bane of nife or ebolt if things are going smoothly, but only after king gets to 60% or so.
druid should play cleric role as well. Nuke if things are going well but avoid agro.
cleric - pretty obvious there, but make sure all buffs are up before going anywhere near the king. Make sure you either dont sit at the beginning of the fight or use small heals to avoid agro.
necro - feed cleric till 50m then splurt / defoliate king to help put him down fast. I'm not sure how defoliate works, but I'm sure splurt works on him.
chanter - make sure adds stay off your party and try not to get hurt to much. If it means mez before tash, so be it =) Chances are if you are getting hurt too much you won't get healed and your whole party will die.

Toward end of fight king will just keep chaincasting greater healing on himself for like 20 seconds... just melee him in the rear so he dont riposte on you. If you don't have an add close so that king doesn't run, now is the time to get one, or everyone will die.

sorry if I forgot anyone's role on king.

Philosphy behind king camp. I think the only reason people ever go near shrooms is for cobalt bracer and fungus tunic. You can talk smack all you want about fungus tunic, but the fact remains that it is one of the best tunics in the game for any class that can wear, except warrior paladin and shadowknight. But, these classes could find these tunics VERY usefull for downtime, or even pulling if shadowknight for regen during feign. the -10dex part would prolly kill your close counters feign ability though, unless you got some decent dex gear on like cloak of shadows, etc.

Someone asked, why isn't this being farmed very much?

Answer : high resists and very annoying corpse runs if people die. It's called risk versus reward. You risk camping this you have a better chance as getting good loot as well as you risk dying and having a long boring corpse run. it's actually camped quite a bit for such a hard camp.

at lvl 30 you dont care what a mob's resists are...

at lvl 60 you either need to debuff via slow, etc or bring 2+ groups. Shrooms have HUGE magic resist for their level, so debuffs are a huge problem and mezzing is even harder. To top it off, slows are resisted about 25% more than mez spells.

Plus it takes about an hour to get corpses back and ressed if people die... and if yer rogue dies trying to get the corpses, you need to buy 6+ coffins and get begging.

I would recommend only bringing trustworthy levelheaded people to this camp, else you will prolly have corpse runs and even more upset people. If your cleric or enchanter goes linkdead and you are not in any agro, invis and wait for them to come back... only king sees thru invis and he wont agro on you unless you walk right in front of the platform.

Good luck folks, hope this helped anyone. Sorry for rant a little there... Some people need to hear it =P

ok I'm only lvl 30. So I'm no expert.. yet. (Doesn't mean I can't drool) anyway it seems that this guy aint that hard of a spawn, and he drops one of the best IMHO chest peices in the game, probabbly the best peice for a monk. so my question, is why doesn't it appear that he's farmed? Please, trash this guy regurlarly and flood the market with Fungi's. I'd really like to fell the slimy cares of one on my skin instead of dreaming of it.

First off getting here is a pain. You can bypass the teleport room out tho.

Get into the Shroom area and move down the hallway to the right. You may or may not have to fight 1-3 roamers.

King and 2 others are on a platform. King spawns in middle.

You can set up opposite from the watery / open area against the wall. Be forewarned that sometimes MOB's will get healed thru the wall, so it is a careful balancing act to avoid fighting to close to roamers or in the wall.

* IF * the King is pulled you must get on him. Do NOT attempt to mez him. Perhaps a 60 Shaman or Enchanter could stop / slow him, we didn't have the luxury.

We had following party:
57 Enchanter
58/59 Bard
56 Paladin (Our tank)
55 Cleric
56 Mage
55 Monk (Yours truly)

Critical that the 55's con everything. Enchanter needed to know because of spell choice.

The Fungal is great for reducing downtime and combined with group / ind Chloro/Regrowth provides nice regen.

We killed King 4 times: 3 Tunics, 1 Robe.

OK, after killing this guy numerous times now I thought I'd help people out with a starting tactic. First of all you need to have a full group of lvl 54+ at least, with some members being closer to 60.

The weakest party I was in that killed this guy consisted of:
55 cleric
56 warrior
54 rogue
59 enchanter
59 shaman (mua)
54 druid

We pulled a mob in front of the king platform and the king came down solo, and everyone promptly turned onto the king. Druid was dumping dd, I was helping with heals, chanter brought down the king's reaver and priest buddy to mez so they would stop chealing him at half.

I suppose if we tashed this guy at 80% hps we could have got a slow off on him without dying, but since we weren't sure what level he was, we thought we should kill him oldschool.

So... if king ph is up when you start here, try pulling a slowed mob by the front of his platform (one with an open ledge). The king or ph should come down solo (dont know why). Then pull away to kill if there is a priest close. Should break camp so that their are just 2 warrior type shrooms on the king ledge and the ph or king.

Try to make sure your enchanter is 57+. At 56 and below things are just too annoyingly difficult because of resists, that you should just concentrate on leveling and pass on king group.

I have to say that the warrior / rogue combo worked pretty good here with the mobs staying on the warrior 95% of the time.

Only other times I've killed king were passing thru on way to trakanon area, so it's not fair to compare as more than one group doesn't constitute a camp.

You might have to evac ej after killing king if you have many adds messed because they will most likely just get you killed. Worked great for the group I was in above. Darn guy dropped a robe for us, Argh heh.

Dropped a fungus covered scale tunic every other time I've been there when he was killed though.

Don't forget to stop by king if you are on your way to jugg/tola/prot area because most of the time he is up from people evacing.

King cons blue at 59, hits for 250ish, paladin type mob. His loh only heals a small amount, so dont worry about having to stun him, just try to put him down fast because his magic resist is little higher than the reavers, so hes very hard to slow. I've been told that king agros on spell casts too much, so might want to wait till he gets down to about 80% before tash, etc.

Good luck with yer fungi and monk twinks folks =)
