Dropped wurm meat, gold gem dusted rune, and Vluudeen's Tail

I just solo'd this mob. 52 wizzie. Atol's Spectral Shackles, then Conflagration. Didn't even use a full bar of mana. Doesn't hit very hard at all, and isn't a caster. I only sat on my horse, shackled him and nuked him down. was an easy kite and took all of about 10 minutes or so. Check out my magelo for my gear if you want (look for the name Lucifruge). Had Virtue and a Kei on but I could probaly have killed him just as easily w/o them.

Though he conned only LtBlue to me at 55th, he ended up killing my pet with the help of roaming Ancient Wurms. I found him standing, waiting in the 1st branch to the right from the south entrance.

Soloed him today with my Level 51 Ranger. Was a hell of a fight. Had Fo7, Virtue, and KEI, and a crapload of arrows. Snare, Dot, Shoot and repeat, and repeat, and repeat a whole lotta HP.

After what seemed like 10 minutes, finally killed him with 13% health. And he drops.... a tail, for a bow that isnt as good as my thunderbolt, and two hunks of meet, got two blue ticks. Dam fun fight but come on......

Soloed him today with a 57 paladin, his % only dropped after 200hp of dmg.
Easy to take down with SoW but it was a long fight. He is found by entering the South of the Shardwurm caves in GD. He is in the right tunnel just as you enter.
I pulled him just outside the caves, got him to 95% before he wittled me down to 35%, so I turned and ran a little healed up and did it again. When I was oom I ran SW of the caves for a bit till Vluudeen headed back in. Heres the good part, for a wurm his regen sucks and he goes straight back to where he was. Medded up a repeated the same method, he started to run at sub 10%.

DOT'd him to death -

He doesn't resist much (couldn't "Ice" nuke him tho) - came up with the servers on the 3/11/04 patch - spawn was in the South entrance to the shardwurm caves on the east turnout right inside the entrance (much like shardtooth appears on the north side)

Used a LOT of mana with KEI on (down to 20%) - each DOT round - BoRo,DDea,Drones,Crud (didn't waste on smaller ones) - and Drones are free (mana) from bracers. Each (aprox 2100hp) DOT round did around 10% damage... wasn't paying tooo much attention... so he's got some HP.

He can be ensnared and rooted (engulfing) easily... and didn't appear to be a caster. Tail now part of To Do inventory. :) Took about 10-11 minutes. Took 10% damage from the pull out "POP" (HoV on) (he stuck on the wall and popped on top of me) -

<edit added> Dropped him 3 more times since... tail does my druid no good... so it's kinda just an exp kill and not a mana efficient one-- but with current (54) spell set... he drops fast(er) now... Kinda like Kizdean Gix in WC... just on my "Oh he's up... I'll kill him" list.

I am a 51 druid and I Seen him Standing in my way to the crystalline Shardworms.He conned Dark blue but wasn't sure what mess i would get myself into if I tried him.Well I saw there was a Lvl 60 Ench. in the zone and got a C3(thanks Mingming).I took a deep breath and said what the hell lets give it a try.OMG It has alot of HPS.Thank god it was not a caster.It took me 30 min to kill him (Snare,root,Drift death,starfireX3,Repeat).Got his tail and thats it(Dissapointed).Is there a quest for a druid with this Item.




Zoual Notahugger 51 seasoned Wanderer

Took him down about a week ago. I was in GD, screwin around as a 51 necro, and a guy kept yelling for about an hour that he was kiting him around and needed help to kill him. So, i do a /who and see this guy is a 59 warrior in one of the top guilds on my server. I shout something about how a level 59 should be able to take this clown down easy, hehe. Afer about an hour of his shouting, he finally says 1k for any group that helps me take him down, split any way you like. SO......I give him a tell, omw bro. I show up, make up a pet and throw on a steelskin. Im at full life and half mana, which is low cause i have like 180 int, and i send him a tell to bring him around. By this time, he has picked up another shardwurm add, so as they run by, i invoke fear the add, then send pet to the named to stop him. I lay on a darkness, fear, splurt, EB, then sit down to med. Basically just fear kited this guy while pet and warrior beat on him. He seemed to have a TON of HPs, cause i think i went thru 2 cycles of splurt(1500 each time), EB(1000), BoD(700), and 3 times he broke snare or got close to timing it out(300 each). On top of that, pet and 59 warrior were beating it on the backside nonstop. Pet was the 53 hitter. Finally, after almost liching myself to death to keep fear and snare on(exagerating) he died. Who got the kill? thats right the 51 Necro. Me and the warrior never grouped up since he was busy getting chased for an hour up to when i showed. If i had been at full life and mana I could have easily soloed this guy. well, maybe not easily, but i could definately taken him down solo. Afterwards, warrior logs and brings in his twink ranger, and gets the loot. then logs and brings back the warrior, runs to the bank with me, and hands over 1k as promised... Everyone went home happy that day.

The Tail is used for a Ranger/Warrior bow with the effect Spirit Strike. You turn the Tail into Gleed Dragonhunter in Kaeld Drakkal for the NO DROP bow. Stats are as follow:

We took this guy out yesterday, and it we pretty much a long, ugly fight. 54 sk, 46 rogue, two Droods (50, 45), 38 monkee and a 46 chanter. SK snared (BE Guants) and feared for an entire load of mana. Fought this thing for about 10 solid minutes. SK did at least 5000 dmg himself, including full HT of 820. I'm guessing 10 - 14k hps. 49 or 50 mob, not 46 as shown.

Finally killed him with about a pixel of health, after going oom and getting chased around while monkee and rogue kept wacking. Casters were all OOM by then and useless. Got the whip.

Add came a long and killed the SK just as fight ended. FD did not work all nite (Nerfed with patch?). Ouch.

Bortan, Dungeon Master

I was doing the legwork for the Kromrif Military Leggings when I saw this one up last night, so told the guild and a few joined me to kill it. 51 druid, 49 ranger and me 52 Shaman. It conned even to the 49 Ranger... I started with Malosi to lower resistances, then we all DOTed it until we were all OOM. I'd gone through 5000 HP worth of DOTs myself, and Vluudeen was still over half HP. Slowed and snared, we spent about 15-20 min kiting it between meds. Finally killed it, and just a tail? Should be a better drop for a MOB like that!

Vluudeen was 50 when we took him out a week or so ago on the way to the Crystalline Shardwurms. We had a 52 Ranger, 51 Ranger, 51 Pally (that would be me), 49 Warrior, 45 Druid, and 40 Cleric. Had a bunch of HPs but didn't give us any serious trouble.

Was yellow to a 49 and blue to a 51, so Vlu was lvl 50 exactly.
