Is it really true that killing merchants like this guy gives a 100 Faction hit? And also, do they give zero Exp? If the y give no exp, does that also mean there is no AA awarded?

#larynx, Posted: Aug 12 2003 at 9:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) druids suck....haha never a druid can DoT,DD,they have a minor C-heal they have PoTG and PoT9 which is much better than just virtue or aegolism just hope your cleric has symbol of kazaad for more HP they have Thorns and with there AAs ive gotten a DS for 96 points of damage they have evac and a AA for instant evac...always a good thing they can snare,they can kite,druids can do alot of sh*t so druids by far will never suck just my 2cp

"1) Critically blast the mobs for between 1300-2400 damage.(wizards can do 13k)
2) Reduce the mob's Fire Resist / Attack stats(enchanters can tash WAY better then druids)
3) Rain spell of 3x490 while blasting w/ a dd from #1 above.(Wizards can do 12k :p)
4) Assist in healing if a cleric needs it.(Shammys can heal a lot more)
5) Gate ur sorry #$@$! when u over-pull(WORD. Only thing I agree with here)
6) DoT if necessary for 1200 per min(Necros, Wizzies...)
Sorry not trying to make you feel useless. Just Druids are like hybrids. All around useful. uber soloers. Great at PvPing. Kinda useless in a raid. Not useless exactly but just not the best at the stuff that needs to get done

I realise the above post is a little old so I wont have a go too much other than at the things that are blatently wrong.

1) Wizards can do 13k - what is that some kind of random number you came up with? If your talking about manaburn I have seen a 38k crit, its based on the wizards total mana pool and they use their entire mana pool casting it. I will not dispute wizards are the best DD casters its what they do, but they dont nuke for that kind of damage repeatedly.

2) Tash you say? Druids fr, ac and atk debuffs are now better than any other classes. (See Hand of Ro, Ro's smoldering Disj, Ice, Fury of Ro, Ro's Illumination etc)

3) see 1

4) Clerics generally want their CH to land while the warrior has a comfortable amount of hps left so they dont get caught out by nukes, special hits etc. Druids 75% heal (Karana's renewal) 4680hp heal which means unless your tank has over 6240 (which does happen) it can heal as much as a complete heal if timed correctly. If they have over 6240 you heal slightly earlier than a cleric would.

5) Theres a lot to be said for evac, fighting back for a cr is much better if your 50% of your raid is still in their propper equipment.

6) DoTs are in addition to all the other functions, combining DD and DoT druids output some very nice damage especially in the longer fights.

And some new abilities not mentioned

Circle of Seasons
Protection of Seasons (best fr/cr buff)

Protection of the Glades
Blessing of the Nine (90% casters will take this over cleric Aegolism line for raids)

This post is mainly for people looking at the site now thinking druids are no use to a raid. I dont like to see my class knocked by someone that has not done the research.

LOL what a post, how many things did you list there?? all with a different class that can do it better?? but the point of the fact is, it takes all of those different calsses to get those effects....

One (1) Druid, exactly 1 less then 2 and 5 less then 6..

Druids are not useless in a raid when they can fill in for almost any OOM caster..

Ok lets see if druids are so usless then why when i took my dads druid to PoG i was the only one that could get everyone out with out me people would have not got there bodies or anything and espicialy with the druid not being KoS then it is alot easier and helps cause the druid could do CRs so above all im saying that druids are in no way usless... END OF STORY

Why do people try to get a point across, taking themselves quite seriously, then throw out a rant that looks more like a 20 car pile-up or a fall down a flight of stairs? Take a breath, use some punctuation and then your point might come across better.

P.S. I play a cleric, wizard, mage, necro, warrior, shadowknight and enchanter and I STILL think druids are well balanced and (if the player using that avatar knows what they're doing) excellent additions to any group, any time.

Excuse me, do you know what you are talking about? Druids in raids are healers/nukers, very little else. That's their job.

Also, your comments about the guy's post about what druids do on raids are very uninformed as well.

Yes, wizzies CAN nuke for 13k. They can only do it ONCE though every 2 hours 24 minutes, it saps ALL their mana, and they have to spend 9 aa points in the skill after spending 18 other points into general and archetype skills. I've not paid attention to who tashes, but I assume enchanters probably do. Shammys CAN heal more, but they DON'T because they need to buff/debuff everybody and have very little mana to do elsewise. Many raids, mobs die too fast for necros to dot or they aren't allowed to dot because it'll screw others up (mainly mezzes) and to my knowledge no wizzies can dot. Also, you don't gate out in a raid unless you are done with the raid. If you wipe, you do every damn thing you can to make sure one cleric gets out. You will get your exp back, don't worry about that, just make sure that cleric gets out.

many people think that lvl 60+ mobs are unkillable there is only one i know of who has NOT been killed...that is The Sleeper in Sleepers Tomb.....about everyother mob me and my GUILD with 25+ lvl 60's in it have killed everything else other than the sleeper......I takes many Clerics with amazing healing skills and many Tanks of massive tanking capability....many people are needed but it is always possible....

Our cap is 60, something that is red to a 60 could be anything from 63 on up, correct? So how do you jusdge that something is higher than 63? (Unless Verant has actually said "this guy is lvl 70"....which I have never seen them do about any mob, its not their style to give us exact numbers like that)

One good thing about killing shopkeepers is that they give + 100 faction instead of the mediocre 10 from the Adjundants (spelling?).
