On Lockjaw walking through Kael today I always check if Capt Bvellos is up because he's a great pet (when he's not equipping the debuff sword). Went in the room he shares with Staff Sergeant Drioc and lo and behold Drioc is holding Velium Swiftblade (https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=4567). Was really planning on heading to bed but the swiftblade was the first haste item my main rog had on live years ago, before he got his epic.
Paci'd nearby mobs, pulled and charmed Bvellos, let the destruction ensue. My lowbie rog gets to relive some of my classic memories. Woot!
60 enchanter/60 druid combo, enchanter decent gear some from NTOV/Tunare velious gods etc in era, druid suxor crap gear but she is support for the chanter. Will use it for a bit until I get my epic, then it goes in my bank storage to be mounted on the wall in my house when that becomes available.

heard one group of 55+ can take him
Dropped him with 56 druid and 40 enc. Enc kept casting mana seive to oom, med up some and cast away. Meanwhile, druid just root and rot'd.

Took him down witha 57 SK a 57 monk anda 62 druid. easy as pie dropped the head and some PP
Took him down last night with simply my 56 monk and 57 shaman. Long fight but not really hard at all. Slowed him and basically just had monk do all the work. He also drops the Dire wolf hide cloak.

why would anyone roll on a no drop item if they dont know what its for? you could ***** a class out of an item they need when you yourself may not even be able do use the item the quest yields.

I've fought in the arena before, but don't think I've ever fought in the bank. What kind of forces are needed?

Easy, 1 group of 60s with the good classes can hold this area. 2 groups of 50+ can do it easy also.

Wrong, it definately doesn't take a group of 60's or 2 groups of 50's, I've been 2 boxing the place with an SK/druid since they were lvl 55 and 57, I took down this guy, the toughest in the area tonight, and we are now lvl 58 sk and 60 druid, its a pretty long fight and takes a few CH's, but he's not that tough, I imagine a 55+ shaman could solo him.

I too would like to know what this Head is for, it is a No Drop item. I hope it is good, I won the roll on this early in a raid and because of it, was unable to receive the next roll I won, which was for a piece of corroded :-(
BTW, didn't know I couldn't roll because i already won an item, Ohh Well!!

I'm sorry. It was strange enough to see a Froglock that was supposed to be a Paladin, But a Giant. Are the guys at Verrant really that unversed in popular fantasy? Not that I want them to change anything, but if giants and froglocks can be Paladins how come Barbarians, Ogre's, Troll's, and Dark Elves Can't be Paladins. Does this make sense? If they are going to set these kinds of restrictions (and they should) how come it doesn’t apply to MOBS?

I have no idea why you would think that it somehow follows that if giants and Froglocks can be Paladins then Barbarians Ogre's, Troll's, and Dark Elves should also be able to be Paladins.
Storm giants have been, in most fantasy settings, a good aligned race as have the Froglocks always been in EQ. Seeing as Paladins must be good Ogres, Trolls, and Dark Elves are right out. Those races do have, however, the EQ version of the anti-Paladin known as the Shadowknight. As for the Barbarians, while they are not necessarily evil they are a shamanistic race and thus the Cleric characteristics of the Paladin wouldn't fit.
