This mob spawns at ToFS Floor 4, after you spawn and kill Amontehepna, Cara spawns in the room just before the mirror to the next floor, in her coffin. ..

Posted:Jun 16 2002 at 6:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I know other people say everything should be a monk item...But this really should be...band-aids are a monks best friend......please, change it...*sigh*
My main is a Monk, and I just have to say that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. This weapon is a knife, in other words a peircing weapon. If you haven't noticed, Monks don't get peircing. So are you saying that they should make this knife Monk useable? That would be great, but how would you get it to proc considering you can't equip peircing weapons? Are you saying monks should be given peircing as a skill? lol, and maybe they can give us level 50 wizard nukes while they're at it.
Monks cannot equip it, therefore it will NEVER proc bandages when USING it. Because they CANT use it.
My Sk, Rogue, Necro, and Chanter all have them from our times there. Note also> just as with the mage spell:SUMMON BANDAGES, the number summoned is based on your level> level 40 wielding it procs a stack every time it goes off. A level 18 wielding it will only get 9 bandages a proc.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: If you DONT put the bandages in your inventory, you wont get more until you do, so if you are looking to beat up greenies to get a few stacks, as soon as it procs, put em from your cursor into a bag so next proc, you will get another stack. Otherwise you will only get one stack per kill.
If you look around you can find lots of weapons that normally a class can't equip but can still use... On the down side you have to deal with 0 skill... Not like its a great weapon for dmg anyway.
Oh, and one more little thing, bandaids are incredibly useful for all the classes, not just Monks. All pure melee can use them when there isn't a healer around, soloing hybrids can use them to bind to half and then heal the rest with their spells to save on mana, and casters can use them incase they are oom on others or themselves. In other words, you're arguement is pointless. If you want bandaids and are too poor or whatever to afford a few gold a stack, ask some Mage to summon you some and a dimensional pocket.
I know this post was 3 years ago but, Yes a 55 shaman can solo all the stuff to her (Did it with a 50 shaman.. if a 55 shaman can't.. then go play a different class)
depends on how resourceful you are, got to her with a 51 paladin and took her down, but itu was a big help, that and an extensive knowledge of the tower and all the keys in my back pocket.
Soloed Cara about 5 minutes ago, level 51 mage on 7th Hammer. Only actually hairy moment was when i got 3 adds fighting a wandering MoB in the hallway coming to her. Cara was up when I got there, and a breeze to fight... Definately not 5k hps. I'd say my 950 dmg nuke took about 1/3 of her HPs, so about half that is my est, or 2.5k. Could be higher, I'm not sure what my pet's dmg output was, and health bar lag can be decieving. However, regardless, she was an easy solo. 5th floor key and mag dirk, currently waiting for the sorcerous bowl =).
Not sure if I was just lucky, but pet lost at most 1/10 hps. Probably less, by the time I thought about doing /pet report health he was at 96%. With 51 earth pet, it takes a while to do that, so maybe didnt even take a 10th of his health.
She attempted to cast a couple of heals, my pet interrupted all of them (bash), and she was dead in under 30 seconds b/c I was nuking like mad.

If you are asking that if you could spawn Cara and then fight her, I doubt that you could do this solo, even at your level. As you will have to spawn Amhophora first then Cara. You and a shammy? Possibly, shammy might have to chain heal. And you might get a few adds.
As far as a 52 warrior solo'ing Cara and Cara alone, I think you could. Cara can heal herself though.
There are many mobs on the way to Cara and a lot of them are casters.
Question: what is your reasoning that with a 52 shammy he/she would own the tower? If you read the strategy section you'd need a full group averaging level 50 to take out Val Sera and Tserina. Yes, a 52 shammie's resist buffs would probably make the 52 warrior virtually immune to the spells, but Val Sera hits for an average of 117, has hella hps, and would likely charm any pet the shammy broke out.
Is it possible that this combo could take down the bosses? Yes. Is it likely? Without uber 60 buffs. No.
It's really simple actually, you kill either that named mummmy Amonhtepha(sp?), the maggot infested flesh, or Cara herself to get her to spawn, one of those three should always be up somewhere on that floor, if one of them is not kill the oozes or mummies and wait for respawn on a named and then kill the named, either one of those three should spawn immediately after you kill one of them. Sorta like a trigger pop
ok, we had a raid last night where we just started with no keys. We got all the way to the 4th floor and worked our way to where she spawns. She wasn't up and the Amhophora wasnn't up, so we camped there for an hour to see if she'd pop. Nope. So we worked our way back to the entrance and then started clearing the right part (assuming you look a an eqatlas.com map), and still no pop. So our puller lets me (ranger) start to pull the left part of the 4th floor since I had a map of it. I pulled everything, and there was an ancient mummy at the very end of the left part. After we got him, Amhophora popped. We nailed him once, and Cara popped. However, Amhophora popped twice more while we were killing stuff on our way to Cara, which means that his PH'er is random. We hadn't killed any shadows, just ncient mummies, but that doesn't mean they weren't the PH'ers. We got to Cara, she was red to me at 34 (naturally), and she meleed, didn't cast. She seems to have a good bit of hp, but we nailed her after awhile. Loot was the key and embalmer's knife, which I won. Love it. It's a proc summon bandages. Not a right click, which makes sense, but hey, it's Verant.

ok went up to tof no luck with finding ph which is the mummy named anke somtin or other,so asked another group to take the 4th floor and bring us to the 5th which they did, got my rings killed that spectre guy for the key to the 6th floor, then about 2 hours later the group wasup on the 6th floor they said they finally go cara to spawn great so i went back down there, named mummy was there killed him went to cara's room, ok i think this means somtin if she is outside the casket she will drop one of her 2 daggers got the effect bandage one first walked back to place were u come up from 3rd floor killed some stuff on the way then bam right down the hall not to far at all named mummy again, killed it went back to cara's this time shes in the casket with bowl wasted her in about 10 seconds and im out)
One night like 5 days ago or so.. we killed everything constantly and couldnt get her to spawn... Then 2 nights ago she was spawning every like 20 minutes no matter whether we killed anything or not.. We only killed the named mummy once.. altho we did get a nice +6 wis scroll off him.
Easyest Way to get Cara to pop is kill the named mummy Amonhtepha(sp?). The PH for it was 'a shadow' for me but killing ancient mummy's also works, after killing the mob, its corpse will depop and Cara will pop in an open room with two coffins near the 5th floor mirror, this is probby the best place to engage her if your worried about adds, she was blue to me and healed herself when she got low health. Easy fight for 51war and 51shammy. She dropped the bandaid dagger and the key to the 5th floor (thank god), goodluck those of you going for keys!
1) Kill mummies as often as they pop. Have a ranger or druid track and make sure you keep the floor clear of mummies. 2) Doing step 1 makes Amon pop roughly once an hour or so. 3) Killing Amon guarantees a Cara pop in the Crypt area.
Killing Cara is easy if you do one of two things: a) Stun her constantly (first kill) b) Mana Sieve her (next 3 kills)
She did a complete heal on our first fight when 2 of my Color stuns got resisted in a row. Next 3 fights, 1 mana sieve at 75% health and she didn't even attempt another cast. She is absurdly easy to kill if you have stun capable group members.
We got a bowl, skinning knife, dirk and then nothing. 4 keys though.
Just wanted to confirm info for anyone preparing to go up there. - She's a lvl 42 Cleric - She DOES complete heal herself (grumble) - I havn't seen here pop until I killed Amontephena (doesn't mean she can't spawn on her own) - She spawns on the fourth floor in the room with the two coffins before getting to the mirror to the 5th floor. - Bowl seems to be a really rare drop - Embaulmer's Skinning Knife procs a STACK of bandages. - My friend with a 51 necro easily solo's her.
My first encounter with her went pretty well. I took my 51st enchanter and my friend brought his 59 wizard and we went up and did the ol mez/nuke deal and she dropped without a hitch.. Had a few adds but they were easily mezzed. No bowl tho =(.. Got the Embaulmers Skinning Knife witch is nice for my Warrior.
Then I camped here last night with my 47 warrior and my 47 shaman. I sat them by the mirror to the 5th and pulled stuff to there.. There are 4 shadows that spawn in that hallway leading to her room. There is also a wandering goo and a wandering zombie that will aggro from pretty far down the hall way. That stuff was pretty easy aside from the fact that those damn Shadow's nuke for 250 witch is a pain. After 4 hours of no Cara, I started to camp at the mirror leading to the 5th floor and then Amontephena spawned in the hallway leading to Cara's room. (Same hallway as the shadow's) All the Shadow's were cleared so I pulled it and started beating on it.. Not a problem with slow, alacrity and a haste belt. =)
A friendly necro stopped and asked if I needed help, I told him sure, the more the merrier. We killed that off and she 'instantly' popped. There was a goo down the hall close to her room so I pulled that first and ended up getting her too... FAK! The goo got necro-mezzed and a Shadow popped and started nuking the snot out of me.. /sigh
Welp, I'm going for gold I thought, the necro can feign/gate so I wasn't worried about him. We almost had here dead and she complete healed. ARRRGGH. Shammy OOM at that time and warrior fell... /SIGH I started to back up into a corner for a better chance at getting a gate off when the necro keyed us to the next floor... thank god.. Anyhow, ended up waiting for an hour for a kind lvl 60 pally to rez me.
That's my experience so far. Oh yea, if I remember correctly, the mirror on the 4th floor that ports you out of the tower is behind a locked door. You have to kill Cara to get the key to either leave the tower or get to the next level. The door may open when something paths through it too, can't remember..
Killing the named Mummy may guarantee a pop, but I have been on this level when both Amontephena and Cara were up at the same time. Could be someone killed him and she popped then he popped later, don't know.
About the key though, not sure if here key gets you through the locked door to the exit mirror, but the key that got you onto this level from the one below does work on that door. That or just use the key from her to go up to level 5 and exit from the mirror there (exit mirror is where you pop in).
Here is a TIP for you if you're having trouble (like I am) finding the quest to change the curse.
When the Dirk processes its effect simply back up a step till you see your target. The weapon makes you face north right? Well...what if you're ALREADY facing north? (DUOH!)

In case you all didn't know, she WILL NOT spawn if there are people in the room, AND you have to kill the named mummy. Have fun, and for all of you trying to get the tea cup, good luck. =)
I have seen her spawn twice in a row while my group was still in the room, so i don't think that effects her spawing. Her PH is Amonhtepha (the named mummy)and she will spawn immideately after you kill him. Out of the 10 times i've killed her the bowl had dropped once...and of course i lost the roll...Oh well, did manage to pick up a nice ring on 5th =)
on terris thule server i was offered this bowl for 6k . but was unlucky because i just bought SMR and Impskin Glovesand am currently saving for Froggy robes. usually go for 8k on T-Thule Now. But the value could be 13k on other servers. nice stats tho.

Posted:Jul 04 2001 at 10:20 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You play on Veeshan... So are you Japanese? Heh... This is just about the funniest thing I've read all day... I hope you aren't serious...
I killed her 3 times last night (5/30/2001) with the following group:
42 paladin (mostly deepwater armor, wurmslayer & clay guardian) 42 Shadowknight (full sentient, argent defender) 42 Enchanter (she died on first attempt due to roamer and we killed Cara easily) 43 Druid
She was up when we logged in. We used superior camoflage to get to her room and kill her. Rarely, one of the ancient mummies can see through it, but we've made it through most of the area safely. The other two times, we killed the name mummy (Amontephena) and she spawned the second we killed him (had druid use track to confirm).
Everytime we fought here, she conned white/black - which means for us she was level 42 each time. She dropped the magnetic dirk of distraction, sorcerous bowl (enc loved us) and a embalmer's skinning knife.
We'll be up there for a while, trying to get everyone keys... I'll letcha know if anything changes, but from my 3x experience, she is level 42 has about 5k HP, can get off some greater heals (definately no complete heals) is fairly magic resistant and spawns after killing the named mummy.
BTW u can get her to pop,,,if u kill the mummy or the sk <named> she may pop. Also, she pops on her own sometimes...as I've witnessed tonight 8) she also complete heals herself...found that out tonight after we thought our pets would take care of her
I was there one weekend night and we camped her four 5 hours. There were a ton of people in the tower but no one but us on 4th. She was popping every 30 minutes and sometimes in 10-15 minutes. We were shocked because we had been there before and barely seen her and now we saw her like 10 times in 5 hours. We got a couple bowls and decided to come back again a few days later. We were the only ones in the tower this time. We camped for 8 hours. We saw her just once and that was because she was up when we came there. I do not believe in the mummy guy making her pop because i have seen her pop with him still up many times. I think it has to do with people on other lvls. I dont think you can just show up to 4th and start camping. We hadpeople all thru 1-3 killing things and that was when she popped like crazy.
Kill all the ancient mummies you can so Amontephena (the named mummy) will pop (since they're PH for it). Amontephena is a walker, but it usually walks around the corridors leading to Cara Omica's tomb (our puller monk pulled Amontephena without realizing what he was pulling hehe). If you hang out in Cara Omica's tomb, Amontephena usually spawns in the corridors other than the mirrored one with all the shadows. Killing Amontephena will pop Cara Omica.
