A note on the faded pages on these holgresh. It can only be 1 of 3 types. Item IDs are according to Lucy. They are:

11712 = Salil's Writ pg. 153 (left)
11720 = Salil's Writ pg. 288 (left)
11721 = Salil's Write pg. 282 (right)

I now have a happy baby enchanter getting the research skills off of these.

Ok I have hunted about a 1/2 a level of these things. Only 1 spell ever dropped and that was off an elder. It was the invisibility vs. undead 39th Wiz spell. I do not know how many of these a � level is, but 100 probably is a conservative. Has anyone seen the Wandering Mind spell drop in the last 3 months?

As a 51 druid I have success soloing them by getting my magic resis up then snare, root and nuke. Works everytime.

I'd like to add to that fire resists. I get KEI, buy some peridots for Diamond Skin and SoW myself. Does cost some, but they have some very nice drops. Contrary to belief the Elementalists and Conjurers do drop spells. I just got Shard of Core off a Conjurer the other day and sold it for 400 pp in the bizare to the hungry mages.

Other than the Elders, I've never met a Holgresh that survived a second Ice Comet.

Although I had a lvl 51 druid to help me, I noticed that I could solo an elementalist/conjurer that didn't have a pet by using all the self buffs I had, including FR and CR. When you pull them, cancel magic first because they have a KILLER DS that's fire based. I get owned if i don't dispell so make sure you back up that first dispell with a snare and another dispell. I was using a centi longsword and a sword that procs a stun (dropped from Renux). After that, you have to just bite the arrow and keep fighting. 250dd nukes aren't uncommon so be prepared to run if you must.
My most important discovery was to pull them to the druid circle instead of to the silv. thanes because they spawn closer to the druid circle, thus avoiding fighting these things in the middle of nowhere or getting nuked to death while pulling from across the zone. That's around it. I've been huntin them for the last 2 days and haven't even heard of a strong branch dropping so I guess they are pretty rare. Well, Good Luck to all you guys and hope you have better luck than what I've been having.

As a 39 Druid I came out here to help a ranger buddy of mine with the shackles. While he was off leading an over pull to zone, I decided to try out my newest nuke, Flamestrike. There were a few partial resists, but I was able to just nuke the elementalist down with about two bubbles of health left. I experimented a bit after that and found that the magic based Fury of Air was usually resisted, and the cold based Avalanche was occaissionally resisted. Definitely buff up with magic and fire resists...then nuke away with fire! Have yet to get a stick though...

I should go out and buy a lotto ticket, for on my first attempt for the spell, ITU for Wizards, I killed an elementalist and it dropped a rune of Infraction, A mojo Stick with cast force, and ITU!

What luck!

Very Nice Asante.
I came here for the Invis vs undead spell. Took another Wiz for support and it dropped on 2nd kill (Elder Holgresh). Other Wiz got the drop. I camped this spell for so many weeks, Sony almost designated me as a quest NPC. ;)
One day I found the spell for 15pp in Bazaar.
Around 2 months wasted. Doh!

We hunted some with a friend yesterday and one did drop a caster only choker (FR+1, CR+1, MR+2, effect: grim aura), and another dropped Gloves of Kromzek might (ac 6, Str 20, Warrior only, no drop, leather look).

Do not confuse these with the conjurers...though the levels indicated here are equal, the damage output by them definitely is not. At 51 got my rooting/dotting/blasting butt *owned* by an elementalist after wasting several conjurers with ease. This one is a definitely undercon, although my magic resistance wasn't great at the time either...not sure it would have made a difference, as I was laid to rest so quickly I fail to see what another 40 mr might have accomplished....will find out later, I suppose, heh.

My 49 Ranger can't solo these. Key is magic resistance (I don't have enough). They pop dd's for about 250, smaller pops for about 50, have a decent damage shield, and just generally get on my nerves. There's nothing more frustrating than being beaten down by a green.

Looking for a strong stick (not to be confused with mojo stick) which is used in a wrist shackle quest. Guess I better get a buddy.

I took one of these last night solo. He got me down to about 2 bubs of life before he died. The main thing i did was I kept him stunned with my DW bracer and he couldn't get his spells off. He resisted one or 2 but kept trying to cast after stun effect and I chain stunned him :) so my castings were not interuppted. Hope this helps you guys with some strategy.

at 42 I tried these guys with a 42 ranger btw I'm a warrior and we fear kited one then that damn corrupt unicorn poped out of nowhere feared me so I was dead for sure but ranger managed to escape wile it was killing me. I haven't tried em since that i may go back later now that i'm 45 (with help of corse)

the elementalists and onchurers are always green to me at 54. they dont give me that green exp either. also they drop level 39 spells. they are about level 35
