I soloed him with my 75 ranger. 14k/2500ac max def and offensive aa's with anguish armor. Hes an easy kill and his "guards" are laughable. But it was interesting and had to use aa wolf form and heal pots. Lotsa fun!

Derakor's Heart dropped today on Druzzil Ro, right after the patch with VP update. We are assuming it is part of the new VP quest

It was a statless no drop, magic, lore heart

faction?
# Jun 26 2004 at 1:40 PM Rating: Default
OK, I HAD max ally faction with all three Kael factions and I follow Rallos Zek. Why did Vindi kill me? And WHY did I drop to Warmly with Kromrif and Kromzek and dubious with Tormax after Vindi killed me? What happened? I was able to walk right up to Vindi before, and now I am KoS to him? What did SoE break this time?

RE: faction?
# Jun 30 2004 at 9:41 AM Rating: Default
To my knowledge, Vindi has always been KoS to all, similiar to the way North wing mobs in ToV are toward CoV-allied PC's.

No clue about the faction issues with other mobs, other than it's possible you received a faction hit for whatever reason and didn't realize it.
Split
# Jun 26 2004 at 12:54 PM Rating: Decent
Well, using a monk to split his guards is almost impossible since that patch in April. We used a Necro to help FD and snare and the BST tagged the guardians off of the necro with slow. It seemed however that if you got agro even on the guardians that you had Vindi agro. With Vindi in Left Arena and my BST far right, tagging a guardian that had already been split from the others worked great, only when arena respawned and kiter got a ton of adds and went down, Vindi came for me, and I was with group finishing off guardian below the RA ramp.

And to confirm, as of date of this post, Vindi is "immune to changes in attack speed" PERIOD. We attempted him with 16 peeps (only ONE warrior, 3 clerics, 2 monks, 1 BST, no enchanter, 1 ranger (below lvl 55) and several others.) Our heal chain was awsome but we lacked FAST DPS so we only got him down to 25 percent before all but one of the Necro's went down. Not bad for a small "family" type guild where most peeps are still wearing Thurgadin quest gear or LDoN armor.

However, "WE SHALL PREVAIL"

Vindi and the TG's
# Apr 24 2004 at 4:19 PM Rating: Decent
Can not be snared, nor can he be slowed. Both will stick on the Temple Guardians. You can run Vindi around until the Temple Guardians are tagged and killed. If you have the tankage and the healers, then by all means have a group on each then focus on Vindi when the TG's are dead.

With my old guild we used to stay at zone in and train/pull everything to there.
Usually with the train we used to get King Tormax/Vindi or Statue. In different pulls of course. Guild was EP flagged and equipped and all those was overkills.
Can't split.
# Apr 19 2004 at 8:23 AM Rating: Decent
You can't really split his guards with a monk anymore. Bro has done it a hell of a lot of times, 65 monk and only recently with a patch are they unsplittable, you aggro vindi, you aggro pets. You aggro pets, you aggro vindi, trust me on this one. Tried for atleast half an hour with 2 monks and didn't work. What we ended up doin was have a ranger snare the 2 pets and have the ranger run em around up in the empty arena while monk pulled vindi.

We seem to have little to no problem splitting his guards off from him, but we pretty much can't split him off from his guards.

That is, you can bring the guards and he won't come, but we have found it tough to get him alone if we haven't downed his guards first.

Result is fairly straight forward: Pull is guards (splitting them from Vindi), kill them (they are cake for any force strong enough to down Vindi). Then get the big boy.

Anyone know if he's slowable now with the 60 - 65 spells and the beastlord slow?
RE: Vindi
# Jun 30 2004 at 9:38 AM Rating: Default
It's not an issue of resists - he's immune. "This target is immune to changes in attack speed."

Beastlord slow is nothing more than watered-down Shaman or Enchanter slow with a faster cast time.
14 peops = dead giant
# Mar 25 2004 at 12:31 PM Rating: Decent
If your smart about it he's not to bad. We did him with 14 peops and didn't split the guards. Just have MA get aggro on Vindi and keep the clerics on him while everybody else quickly takes out the 2 guards. Your other healer classes will be more then enough to heal while killing these 2. Then all jump vindi. Worked for us anyway. Dropped the chestplate, boots and head.

Are you kidding me..easy...i laugh at you. You have to pull him from the arena w/o getting adds.If you do adds are pretty easy to take down. But.Vin is CRAZY. I went with a raid of all 60+ with my 61beast..average level 64..we wiped..4times. LMAO got soo bad one time we all started trying to camp out..LMAO..sit agro sucks. RE: easy my ARSE
# Mar 02 2004 at 8:17 PM Rating: Good
If you managed to run out of mana while killing him, with four full groups...then you definitely didn't have a crapload of dps. He's pretty easily killed with two groups these days, as long as the people average about lvl 63. The main question is....did your primary tank hold agg the whole time? If they did not, that's when you're going to run into trouble. If they did hold agg, and you still ran out of mana, you are woefully short on dps. I believe our clerics typically finish this kill with about 70% mana or more remaining. Adding more Am3 rangers, high lvl rogues, DC pets, etc. will change the fight into an easy one for you.

RE: easy my ARSE
# Apr 22 2004 at 5:36 PM Rating: Decent
what Time guild you in lol, anyone thats says vindi is easy is smoking crack or has road others coattells and has no idea how hard he really is, stay in time and keep the lower lvl mobs to guilds that can actually need the gear.
I have been on vindi 6 times only twice successful, and both times we had 5+grps average lvl 63 and pop geared, but not elemental or time, if you doing it iwth 2 grps your using time gear and it is gay you even attempt vindi, leave him for the guild that can use him.

While gear does make a difference only morons beleive it to be all deciding, i imagine the problem you had was strategy, did you just engage him at whatever random point the tank caught up to him at so he could riposte all the dps melee to death? i bet you did... zerging always takes more people...

This guy is easy as hell...as long as you have a half decent monk that can split his guards.

Very good mob to train a young guild, great for teaching monks how to pull correctly, tanks holding substancial aggro, and most of all Clerics keeping a tight CH Rotation.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 22 2004 at 12:59 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) We do Vindi with 7 to 8 people lvl64-65. Way to easy. We don't even have the best gear not even close. U need 1 cleric, Druid, Mage, Pally, War what ever combo don't rly matter. Monk can tank it too well ours can.

wich combo plz ? Lol 1 cleric 1 druid aye aye and does ur cleric and druid have both ober 10Kmanapool ? I mean with 8 person minus, 1 cleric, 1 tank, 1 druid, u already have 5 pes lfet and i doubt with 5 people u have a HUGE dps, so i wonder how ur healer manage to not running out of mana !

And if u really do then tell me wich server, and i promise i make a cha lvl 1 come to kael and watch the show !!! that's would worth it then :)

You want a guide lol, Clear Arena take monk FD and pick off his 2 guards, then send monk to pull Vindi. Everyone moves far away from Corner except for Main Assist. Monk moves to corner and FDs. Tank keeps Vindi in Corner, Call Assist and Pray that Clerics Don't ***** up.
Strategy for Vindi?

RE: Strategy for Vindi?
# Jan 17 2004 at 1:43 PM Rating: Default
shure, near the arena pull him down on the right side with your monks, split him apart, or just clear to him... then have your MT tag him an pull him into the corner...

make shure that EVERYONE except the mt is backed AWAY from the corner STANDING not sitting or vindi will aggro them. Then Let mt build aggro...call in troops , make shure they use max melee range...an he'll fall ...fast...
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 04 2004 at 10:27 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Have you ever tried looking up shure in the dictionary? It's not there, is it? That's because it's SURE, because this is ENGLISH.

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 17 2003 at 7:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Bah I took him with Arcane Phalanx about a week ago and did over 22k damage to him. He summoned and killed me when he was at 3% because I didn't care and just chained Sun Vortex. The mob isn't hard at all. He has gimp HPs compared to how hard he hits. Statue? That's a different story. About a 3.5 minute fight of nonstop chain nuking with Black Steel and Sun Vortex (he's quite the resistant type). Didn't get summoned and killed on Statue though heh. He pissed me off when my pet ate enrage so I crit 4360 on him ROFL
Easy with a little work...
# Nov 10 2003 at 6:54 PM Rating: Decent
Nobles of Fennin Ro took him down last night. Was a fun raid. We pulled out of arena, made sure all was clear, and pulled Vindi... the guardians added of course, and don't ask me how, but I guess one of our druids kited them away and they got lost somewhere /shrug. Anyhoot they didn't bother us. First try we wiped but that was because of timing. Second try went very smoothly. Think it was 19 people, average lvl of 62. Very easy once the MT gets full aggro. Two clerics, and a few druids for backup healing. Very fun raid. I got the BP (Yay) and it adds 71ac and around 180hp to me at lvl 57.

I went from High amiable to high warmly while clearing the arena and killing him. Went back after raid, killed 10-15 more giants. Ally.

Strategy

We tried Vindi a couple of times with a decent raid force a few nights ago. It was our first time so we learned a lot especially about CHeal chains on MT. The main question I have is how to deal with the two guardians that popped on us as soon as MT aggroed him. We had a 65 monk single pull him, but did no good since they warped to us I guess. Is there somethign you can do to avoid them warping or to keep them occupied during the fight? Also are there any other strategy suggestions, i.e. where to pull to, other ways to pull, etc?

RE: Strategy
# Jan 03 2004 at 6:52 AM Rating: Excellent
You could pull all three and have a couple of bards Highsun the two adds (gate them to their spawn points).

Either that or stick a pally + healer on each add to keep them occupied while you kill Vindi.

Yes, tried Vindi for the first time last weekend and with a monk and necro tag team they managed to split both guards off 2 out of 3 tries. MT got agro off of all on the failed split so he just took the death on the ramp and we pulleda and rezed. We didn't have enough DPS or healing power to take Vindi, depending on how you look at it, but we learned a lot for next try and 2 pullers is perhaps not necessary (I dunno much about that business) but binding sight on the monk it sure looked like a very good idea to split the guards with 2 FDers up there.

Took him down yesterday... I found it helpful as a lvl 61 wiz to have him malo'd then malosinia.

After that I cast my lvl 61 fire rain (750*3) Tears of Ro and it hit every time. In-between refreshes for rain I nuked w/ Sunstrike (~1600-1900ish)so after about 6 casts of rain and 6 sunstrikes in total I actually was helpful compared to trying him at lvl 57 w/ a poor group that only tashed.
