FYI

Wuoshi is lv 63+ as he cons red to Lv 60. His aoe effect is ice comet like in damage 1100 ish and fear at the same time. he melee's for 530 damage on his first shot and 380 on the second.( never have seen passed this as no one has lived yet ) I personally have no idea how many HP he has, quite alot i would guess. Also be warned that there currently is a problem with extremely fast computers and cable modems. If you have a DSL/cable connection and a 1000 mhz+ computer, think twice of porting here as your character will zone in BEFORE your faction information hits Wuoshi I E you will be attacked regardless of claws faction. I have heard several reports of druid friends with amiable claws of veeshan faction who have ported in here and been killed on sight by Wuoshi as a result of this. Alot of people i know get ported directly to cobalt scar and take the run through skyshrine than deal with the chance of death by Wuoshi.
RE: death
# Feb 26 2001 at 5:57 PM Rating: Default
His AoE does not have a damage component.

Wuoshi is a replica of the Emerald Jungle Dragon Severillous. His AoE is a Stun that rolls against your PR.

The difference between the dragons is that Wuoshi is a Druid and therefore casts druid spells like Ice/Frost etc and Severillous is a Shaman and casts spells like Tigir's etc..

Wuoshi is harder than Severillous because he is a lvl 63/64 spawn not 60 and that makes the Dragon Roar and AoE Stun harder to resist

Not sure exacts but when i ran into him (lvl 35 shaman) he did the following the first time:

Wuoshi claws YOU for 250 points of damage
Wuoshi claws YOU for 520 points of damage
Wuoshi kicks YOU for 125 points of damage

When trying to get my corpse he hit me with his breath weapon, took me down to about 1/2 bubble of health (so 700+ damage i think since i have 840)

That was all in one round and needless to say i died both times.

I was coming to join a group in wakening and my guide went l.d...I did an ooc to the group and they told me to follow the left wall (shudders)..I'm running and I see some screwed up looking tanned thing..then see "you were clawed for 530...you were clawed for 530..LOADING, PLEASE WAIT..."..what I love about dragons is they love to stay over your body and say "hey..bring it on *****"...so I had to get a necro and a coffin to get body (slaps forehead)..I hate dragons
RE: mean bastard
# Feb 12 2001 at 1:23 AM Rating: Default
Man, this sounds so similar to my experience with this ******* dragon. I was heading over to Wakening lands to find the druid portal so I could get whatever soulbound item was needed to port there. This will teach me to look up info on Velious zones before I enter them. I had no idea that a creature like Wuoshi existed. I find the druid ring and die almost instantly. Come back to see him sitting on my corpse waiting for me to come back. I had to enlist the aid of a necro also. I'll not be going there anytime soon. Plus I think I need to start killing the Giants.....

Gah, don't tell me that!! I haven't had a chance to /con Woushi since becoming dubious, but I do have an interesting experience to relay...a couple of days after becoming dubious, I ran to Skyshrine to check on the Giant Helm quest. Soon after zoning in, was aggroed by the sentinals. Before I zoned, I /considered the sentinal. It scowled. I zoned out, then back in, invised myself, retargeted the sentinal, backed up to zone, became visible, and /considered the sentinal again. Was dubious. Petitioned. GM wall little help, mentioned something about the faction program...
RE: KOS

There is currently a problem with extremely fast computers and DSL/Cable modems. If you have a 1000mhz computer, a DSL/Cable line, and 256+meg of ram, you might want to think twice about ever porting here. It seems that your computer can zone your character information in the zone BEFORE your faction information hits Wuoshi I E you will be attacked regardless of faction. I have had more than one friend have this happen to them and know many others that simply port to CS and run through skyshrine to get to WL. This is a rare occurance as you need an extremely strong computer to do this but in the future this could become a major major problem as 1000mhz computers become more common.

# Feb 24 2001 at 1:48 PM Rating: Default
There is a bug still in game where whenever you zone for a split second on the other side of zone your faction is at it's base start faction. So if you started KOS to dragons and ported in... there is a very slim chance that even if your warmly to him he will attack you. As far as I know this isn't intentional but of course they can't figure out how to fix it :P
RE: Possible with any comp speed
# Feb 25 2001 at 4:28 PM Rating: Decent
Actually, they have "fixed" it. Now when you zone in, for a few seconds after, you're faction is set to indifferent while it loads. I found this out when I zoned into Nektulos and was indifferent to a dragoon that was trained to the zone (I'm scowls with them normally). I actually had the chance to /tell someone "hey, this dragoon likes me" before the faction loaded up and he agro'd.
RE: Possible with any comp speed
# Feb 26 2001 at 1:53 AM Rating: Default
True, happened to me today in skyshrine. I made it all the way to the sentries and was even able to /con them once..."indifferent"... before my faction loaded and they were "amiable".

Must be something across the entire game. Same kinda thing happened to me in MM other day. Zoned into the middle of a train (everyone had already zoned that didnt die). 3 mobs just standing there. I wondered why they didnt jump me, conned them, indif to me, said to myself "hmmm.... that's odd", then WHAMMO!

Well, brilliant me on the Cazic-Thule server was doing logical thinking...The Relentless guild killed Wuoshi on Saturday night, he's a dragon, so won't repop till after next patch. So I tele to WL less than 36 hours after death, and WHAM, one dead druid that didn't even make it 3 feet from Dragon ring........go fig. Talk to guide, who's exact words were "I have no clue about spawn time, sorry, can't help you." Gotta love Verrant, he just makes me feel all cold and dead inside....sheesh

I know I've killed over a hundred giants, probably several times that, and he is still ready to attack me. I died to him while fighting something else, so he apparently roams a little bit anyway. I thought, "well, he wandered away and attacked us, maybe he's still gone," and gated back to the teleport circle. He chain cast root on me twice while I was hitting the GATE key, and started casting it again before I got outa there. I'm very lucky to have survived that last one.

As far as what they thought they were doing when they put a 65 level dragon on a 44th level teleport location, I suspect heavy drug use was clouding their thinking. Surely they don't expect anyone to use those teleport rings, not knowing if a mob 20 levels higher is gonna be KOS on the other side.

This is a waste!
RE: Spawn time
# Jan 28 2001 at 7:47 AM Rating: Default
The solution is simple.. just build faction and be not kos. then it doesnt matter if he is there or not. I'm a level 46 wizard and use the portal all the time now. I port in, wave at woushi, and be on my way. Getting faction up takes a lot of hard work but is worth it. Folks who think they can just chnge factions overnight are kidding themselves. it takes more than just a few hundred dead giants... giants give precious little faction change. Gotta do the quests too.. over and over and over again. Velious is very faction-oriented and half the challenge of new zones is getting the correct faction to utilize that zone. As for Woushi and no one using the portal... portal seems pretty busy on my server.. with or without a dragon there.. folks who work hard enough on factions use it all the time.

Just avoid the southern part of the zone and don't port in.

I made the mistake of following the southern zone wall trying to reach Kael. Well, I saw the port ring and thought 'Uh Oh'. Withing seconds I was being cast apon. I was trying to run like crazy, but he rooted me and proceeded to rip me to shreds.

I have seen him on track and went the other way, but that time he did not show on track. Someone said he will use tree form to hide as well.

He does not hate me. I ported a party into the Wakening Land only to have him promptly kill everybody else in my party. It is really funny, in a perverse way, to watch people take off running in every direction and watch him summon them back one at a time and kill them.
I guess the time I spent in Kael killing giants was time well spent! :)

I dont see anything wrong with the design. It was made clear that you have to choose sides in Velious. If you kill enough giants to get your Claws of Veeshan faction up, you can safely port in here. However, if you go the other route and get good faction with the giants, you can safely stroll through Kael to get to Wakening Lands.

Its not that hard guy, just stay away from the general vicinity of Woushi and you won't get killed. I practically live in the Wakening Lands killing sentient armor, which is on the other side of zone and I have never gotten killed by Woushi.

Raid is more like it - this mob has a 3 day spawn and needs several full groups to kill - but it has somthing for everyone - the mob also drops keal quest item for a nice +20 wiz ac 22 BP.

I imagine that guilds who are on their way to raid Plane of Growth or The dragon graveyard may stop off to have a go (though most will probably be hoping that wuoshi is not up).

This is an example why you have no real choice but to kill giants. Things like this are also why people /ooc "is anyone killing coldain???" but of course no one ever is.

Killing giants raises dragon faction, and having this thing kos to you when its in the zone gateway to higher areas, is not convenient.

He camps the wizard/druid portal to wakening lands, so if you zone in and he's KoS, you're dead, he also has an exceptionally large aggro radius I'm told. GM's insist this isn't a mistake and that they're convinced he will be killed often enough that he won't pose a problem. Go figure, give wizards a gate then go "oh and btw there's trak lvl dragon on the other side".

I killed enough giants in GD and EW to raise my faction with the Coldains 2 levels (no quests run). Just ported in to WL and was still KOS to Wuoshi. (giants give Claw of Veeshan and Coldain faction plusses) How many giants do you have to kill to get Wuoshi to like you?

How many frost and storm giants do you need to kill to get to where yu are no longer KOS with the Claws of Veeshan faction group which includes Wuoshi and most other Velious dragons?

Well, here's the short answer: a heck of a lot.

Here's my long answer: I'm taking the conservative approach -- I plan to kill them until the Coldain are conning warmly to me (I've actually completed this part now), and then take the number I killed to get there and double it. Based on my own experience with this so far, I'm guessing that one might need to participate in the killing of many dozens of the giants, perhaps in excess of a hundred. That should probably get me there by my reckoning, but that's really just a guess.

My own plan is to follow the above routine, then invis myself to get into Skyshrine and carefully target one of the guards closest to the entry. Then I'll move all the way back to just next to the zone, click off the invis, and quickly con the guard. If I'm not up to at least dubious, I'm going to gate out and kill a few dozen more Giants.

If anybody has info that is more accurate, I'd sure love to hear about it.

Fixing your faction? As an Iksar Shadow Knight, I can tell you that killing things up to 100 is WAY too few. Usually to get from KoS to at least apprehensive, you are talking about killing like 1000-2000 of a particular type of mob, or mobs, in order to sufficiently raise your faction. I know...I had to do this act in order to get into Firiona Vie, and that involved me killing easily 1000+ goblins. So if you plan on getting your faction up so that Wuoshi does not bite you in twain when you enter the Wakening Lands, you need to keep killing more giants.

Well, just how many you will have to kill depends on several things.

1. Your starting faction. An Iksar Shadowknight worshiping Cazic Thule is going to have EXTREMELY bad starting faction with the people of FV. That's a very deep hole out of which to dig yourself. By comparison the starting faction of an Erudite Shadowknight worshiping Cazic Thule might be a lot higher.

2. The faction adjustment provided for killing each of the mobs. Not all faction adjustments are equal. Killing the relatively low level Goblins in the newbie areas near Cabilis will probably give a lower faction adjustment with FV than killing the higher level ones who are a bit further away from the Iksar city. The lower level Frost Giants in Eastern Wastes are most likely going to give a smaller faction adjustment than the higher level ones deep inside Kael. High level named mobs can give HUGE faction adjustments. That is why killing just one really high level mob can drop you from amiably to KOS with a faction group.

3. The number of mobs you've previously killed on the faction you are trying to raise. If you've ever hunted sentries or drakes inside Skyshrine you will probably have to kill a LOT more of the Frost and Storm Giants to raise your faction there out of the KOS range.

Note also that when a kill or a quest results in multiple faction adjustments the top faction adjustment listed is usually the largest one and they get smaller as they go down.

I have only been on a few Kael raids, say maybe 9 or 10. But in most cases we ended up going after Vindi( 0 for 6 =\), and in the process cleared arena multiple times, killing some of the higher level kael giants. With ally faction with thurg from shawl quests and minimal GD hunting, as of last night my faction is maxed vs giants and pro cov. I don't think we killed as many giants as some people say as needed for that kind of faction but i think what you take out matters as well. For instance kill that little royal fishy in lake rathe and your become nearly insta kos to high elves. Some mobs just have a higher faction hit, while you can kill a ton of another and still remain dubios. Similar to the fact that doing a hard quest nets you more faction hits than just popping green frosties in gd/ew.

But as listed above race and diety play a big roll as well. anti-tunare means a lot of faction work to be done if you want to get by woushi.

/shrug all i know is i am getting my skyfire gear now =)
