Farming the No Drop armor
# Feb 14 2008 at 11:11 AM Rating: Decent
Went down here the other night to get some armour for my newb SK. Here is the info i accumulated over the night. (69 necro)

All mobs huge magic resists, my drains landed, and all my fire spells landed no problem, everything else resisted

Sentries: conned grey/green
Lots and lots of different spells dropped off these guy, like the spells that drop off of named spiders in velks lab (lvl 50ish spells)., hands and feet of armor dropped a lot as well (prolly 10 pairs rotted after i got my first set)

Sentinals: Conned green/light blue, Summons (at least some do)
Lots of spells of these guys too, arms were their more common drop, only got one bracer the entire time i was there.

Watchers: Green/light blue, summons
spells again off these fools, legs and BP, legs dropped about 3/15 spawns, got one BP after about 4 hours of killing from zone into where the councilers are, was the last peice i was after so i took off once it finnaly dropped.

So if you comming here for the no drop armor like i was, shouldnt take you long to get hands and feet and hat (dont remember which ones dropped hat, but saw quite a few of them too) Bracers were rare (i still need one but didnt feel like staying longer) and BP ultra rare off of their respected mobs.

and just FYI, i pulled all the summoners with lvl 1 lifetap... this allowed me to pull to safe area without being summoned, and for some reason with the lifetap, other greens and light blues would not aggro my pulls, so i was able to single pull the watchers. but with higher damage spells/dots I would aggro everything around them at the same time.

Technique?

All right, me (51 shaman) and a 57 warrior tried to just take the two guards near the zone. I can't slow these fools, do I just try and heal, but just the first two are too tough. What class has the best efficiantcy against these fools? I'll probably add anothe melee to the equation, and see what happens.

Tell me some stories.

does killing these dorfs hit your CoV at all? being as im max ally to CoV atm, and enjoy that...but i personaly despise the coldains. only got to warmly with them for sake of Thurg armour, and now that my guild has moved on to HoT, and i have most of the thurg pieces i wanted anyway...by killing these little buggers is it possible to become max ally to CoV and KD at the same time?

you guys, this is the way to twink a newbie with so good gear some lv 40s will envy them, seeing as how the shields are lore peeps dont care if ya make sales runs in this manner with shields, and it is a great way to get free cash. just go like this :loot sell loot sell loot sell loot sell and you have like hundreds of plat quick, some people even let you loot royal velium(not the bp though, thats so good fat chance anyone will give it up), i got the gaunts in 15 mins after logging on and also got about 30pp, a new shield, and a scimitar for my druid buddy(hey, we cnat loot and them be stingy, after all).
Asking to loot.
# Feb 05 2002 at 4:29 PM Rating: Decent
I have seen posts of very low level people asking to loot the no-drop armor.

Do you think groups that are there fighting would reject a lvl 52 warrior asking to loot?

I would hate to do an ooc and get made a fool of.

Just wondering.

Actually, if you're on povar and I'm in there killing the armor gets destroyed unless I just made a new alt and then he gets it. For several reasons.

#1 You're not killing, why should you get loot? It's not my responsibility to twink the whole server.
#2 I hate getting tells after every kill by people asking if something dropped.
#3 You're standing in the middle of our group.
#4 I love being a necro, cause when I'm a jerk its called roleplaying.

#1 They may not be able to help kill for faction or just level problems.

#2 Ask them to wait and you will either /tell them or /ooc the drops.

#3 Ask them to stay out of the way.

#4 You are being an *** to be an ***. You are not "roleplaying" you have no idea what role playing is. If you were "role playing" you would not group with anyone of "good" alignment etc.

Always remember not everyone has been playing this game since first beta. Give them a break and help them out. I have gone into a newbie zone and helped some one and seen they were a true newbie and brought them to here just to give them a full set and teach them thier role.

Hi Ebonite =)
<-- Darkabyss
I agree with you on this one. The guy needs to either

#1 seek mental help
#2 Leave EQ
#3 get laid (perhaps his boyfriend is not humping him enough)
#4 shoot himself

No reason not to give this minor gear away. If someone were asking me to loot this stuff the first thing I would do is search my bank for better (stuff under 10k that is, I'm not a complete idiot). Anyhow this stuff is very dated, people got nice cheap stuff of almost equal value available to them now.

Right in line with my thinking... I NEVER allow anyone who comes asking for loot ANYTHING. I have on occasion zoned to thurg, randomly picked a plate class, told him what was rotting, and said he was welcome to it provided he didnt interfere. I have nothing against being helpful, but those who demand my help get nowhere.

And just to follow suit... I love being a SK cause when I'm a jerk its called roleplaying (had to say it, sry)
