Don't go after them, it isnt worth the effort: xp isnt to good, they chaindispell (sow, kei, aego, all your nice expensive hard to get buffs gone) and the factionhit isnt pretty for those who want to do the quests in WL...

Nullify
# Sep 20 2001 at 9:19 AM Rating: Default
These actually cast Nullify magic, but only if they are very close to you (just outside of melee range). Same with Boil Blood. However, I noticed it hit my pet with Daze at the start of the combat. These are not worth much experience to a 45 necro, especially for the effort, but will drop 3-4pp and out of 3, I managed to obtain a fire opal as loot.
TunareanCourt scowls to followers of Innoruuk, human or otherwise.
hehe

he didnt blind it, he darked it.
so, that would be like 1.3 K to him, plus pet damage it would add up to about... almost 2K(maybe).
now, they have about 4K from my encounters with them, 5 as a 49 Mage.
i just have dispel memmed and dispel him once.
heres what i do.
my own kind of log:
/pet attack
you begin to cast lava bolt
Jonaner hits a faerie dragon for 56 points of damage
Jonaner hits a faerie dragon for 56 points of damage
Jonaner hits a faerie dragon for 56 points of damage
you begin casting annul magic
you begin casting Lava Bolt

Don't bother buffing your pet or yourself when you take on one of these. Dark it, send in the pet, dot it, and try to get it to follow you. When it casts boil blood on either the pet or you it will almost always dispell it within 5 seconds.

As a 51 necro (yeah, maybe I got more firepower than you:) I start off with splurt, send in the pet, dark, then E Bolt. the thing chases me for a while casting and dispelling boil blood then dies.

Loot=crushed gems, words, ruins

On a related note: NEVER confuse splurt with your dispell icon.

Can you say a LOT of hit points?!?
# Jan 23 2001 at 7:18 PM Rating: Default
I ran into one of these last night, and figured I'd take it out (Im a lvl 43 DE Necro, and it conned as a scowler). I only had about 50% mana when I started (for a blue, usually plenty with 193 Int). I cast Dooming Darkness, Invoke Fear, Sent in My Pet that was hitting for 37 max, cast VOS, fear broke, it attacked me, dispelled every buff I had and quickly got me down to 2/3 health. I refeared and cast my life tap (220 damage), and then through in an Acid Blast (also 220 damage). It was around this time VOS wore off (which does 40 dmg initial and over 500 DOT). Typical Mobs are damn near dead after taking this kind of a necro beating. Well, after all that the thing still had like 3/4 health left (I never took my pet off him either). Mana was getting very low at this point (like less than a bubble), I recast fear yet again and another VOS. Crap.. Vos was resisted, Invoke Fear wears off right away and I'm OOM. Well, I start running, and this bugger is casting the hell out of me. Luckily my pet taunts it off me (a worthy sacrifice) and I manage to get away with like 100 of my 800ish necro hit points. Sheesh!

Just a couple of pointers , and this is not a flame by any means.
1- This is a member of dragon kind friend high mage resist is common, as well as dispelling you.
2- In the future you may want to do some dispelling of your own.
3- I added up 940 damage not bad output considering the resist and the fact you feared and blinded him , However this seems to be a average size mob for the zone your in.

Again this was meant to point out things i saw wrong with this approach. Not meant as a flame all and all i think you did a good job just living
