Midnight  

I was out in Iceclad soloing for defensive skill building (it's tough to keep aggro with only one sword, hence the need to solo). Anyhow, I was pretty much alone by the dock killing cougars when I see this black one with a name. I quickly check him and see he's blue so I figured I might as well go for it; there's no telling how rare he is since it's my first time seeing him.

I dragged him down near the shore to isolate him. He commences with his 71hp blows and I watch the meters steadily favoring him more and more. He beat me down to a bub or so while I had barely gotten him to half health. I used Lay Hands and got him down to the point where he should have been fleeing, but unfortunately he got me to the same point so he just stood his ground. I decided to stand my ground too and hope to get lucky. I didn't.

My bind point at the dock was very close to our battle place, so I quickly memmed root, grabbed my Ghoulbane and shield off my corpse and ran up the hill to find him. He was still at low health, so I pulled him. Unfortunately, he was in a crowd of cougars by now, so he brought a friend. I rooted him, then rooted his friend, healed up a little, then beat him to the point of him fleeing again. Unfortunately (see a trend here?), his friend's root wore off while I was chasing Midnight. Being all but naked with my back turned while chasing Midnight, the second cougar was shredding me to a pulp. I rooted the cougar, but Midnight had fled into the ocean by this time. When Midnight surfaced, I rooted him to keep him from fleeing in the water, and proceded to melee him. At some point the other cougar's root broke, I used Lay Hands but still ended up dead.

Finally, my fortune turned. I quickly grabbed my Ghoulbane and shield, and ran up the hill to see where Midnight was. This time he was alone, and I was able to finish him off. He dropped the Bloody Cougar Bone.

Maybe I didn't use the best technique, but I tend to get jumpy when boss MOBs are on the line. Painful but fun, this was yet another battle with a named creature that I'll remember for quite some time.

.... took him/her/it down solo with a lvl 32 Druid on the first attempt. Ensnare, Crud, Terrorize, Combust X3, re-apply Crud, Combust till oom, beat what was left to death with the Centi Warhammer I'd just acquired in EC. About the same difficulty as the Crazed Gobs in Butcher to a lvl 29 Druid.

Just a slight correction. There is more than one loot. I just brought Midnight down tonight and got a Fang..cannot remember the complete name..but it is damage 9 piercing 33 delay..nice.

This is definitly a pretty weak spawn, Myself (30sk) and a 33 druid (nice match don't you think?) to her/him down easy. Didn't hit like an HG, and we didn't feel a need to run. Conned even.

I'm a level 37 SK and killed her on the first attempt. I Darknessed her and feared her. While she was feared me and my boy Jibantik, wielding a Rusty Scythe, whacked on that pretty black fur. I had to HT her though. Loot that I got was the bone needed for the Garou's quest.

was fighting cougars by the igloos last night and killed her 4 times within a couple hours. most was just wondering by but did see her spawn a little out from the igloss in the flat area droping from the sky

My group killed him today had i wish i would havew looted him He is not that rare because i killed him and i saw another midnight spawn about 10 min later.

Killed this kitty 4 times in the last week: bone dropped every time, earrings - none.

I was grouped with my tank, hunting cougars on the island where the boat stops, when we saw Midnight. Waited for her to wander away so we could pull a snow cougar... forget about it. Midnight aggroed from a huge distance, and she runs superfast (faster than regular snow cougars). We thought maybe if we levitated and ran out over the water we'd be ok... until Midnight jumped into the water and continued to maul us from 50 feet below.

My advice is, if you see this bad kitty, either be prepared to engage her to get her out of your way or relocate far far away to avoid aggroing her.
