I have been killing alot of goblins for faction lately. I was surprised when this guy popped as I had not seen him in the 1000s of deaths (for goblins)carnage.

He was in a hut in the Goblin Fort in Warsliks at 3102.55, -87.62, -17.92 which is different than a loc given below. In all likliehood he is like the Grachnist and spawns in multiple locations... just very rarely it would seem.

While hunting for The Destroyer this guy jumped me. As a lvl 45 Warrior, he didn't stand much of a chance. However, he did hit me with "Strong Disease". This is a PITA disease, 3 hps/tick, which is the same as my regen sitting down. It really sidelined my hunting, as I would burn through bandages even just killing the greenies, because I couldn't risk low health agro inside the fort. And this DoT lasts forever, just like many other disease DoTs. Unless you really want this guy, better to keep his PH there if you're soloing the fort with no Cure Disease spells.
#Zoomer, Posted: Apr 26 2002 at 11:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I got some pretty nice looking gloves off this guy, even better they're magical. I would post the stats, but i just recently created a new char. and deleted my old one, or coarse, i was smart and didn't twink myself.

You're mistaken, this guy doesn't drop any gloves. I believe you're thinking of the iksar scaled gloves, which drop off of Grachnist the Destroyer, not Pit Fighter Dob.

Monk shackle quest
# Jan 20 2002 at 3:40 PM Rating: Good
just so everyone knows, this is NOT the goblin used in the iksar shackle quests. you need to find a goblin pitfighter, NOT pitfighter dob. The goblin pitfighter spawns at approx 2200pos 150neg. it is a hut labeled #5 on the eqatlas map.

Trooper scale figures better than enchanted cab
# Jan 12 2002 at 7:01 AM Rating: Default
reason for trooper being better that enchanted cab is because the stats are all round not just str and wis or what ever it is. figures better becuase warriors also do not just need str = a nice bit of added dex and agi can go a long way in procs and defence

if you need the finger bones for the shackle quest why not ask one of the people camping the iksar berserker club in kurns? i personally handed 5 complete sets of them over to different monks and a couple incomplete sets as well by the time i got my club. be polite and ask them if they'd mind saving them for you. just a suggestion to those who would rather not spend the time to camp them.

This quest is very long with a weak reward but, it is worth it in the end. This is just one step to getting the Shackle of Steel. 9 AC, +5 str, +5 Sta, +5 SvM.

First of all, you have no idea what you are talking about. Before you discourage monks from the shackle quest, get your facts straight. This is not the goblin related to the shackle quest. As stated many times now on this page. Second, if you know anything about the shackle quest it is a series of multiple shackles leading up to the shackle of Tynnonium. So, actually the quest IS worth it, the end result is a great monk bracer but is also used for their epic. I have personally played all but three classes in this game, and the shackle quest has been the MOST interesting quest I have done thus far.

Final shackle is NOT part of the epic, however is required for the Whistling Fists, a very nice monk only h2h weapon.

Actually, according to eq.castersrealm.com (which has a great epic walkthrough for all classes) the shackle is NOT in fact part of the epic...however, the final shackle is a sweet peice of Monkey gear.

A lot easier just to get a bracer of scavenging, same stats minus the save, and I usually kill 4-10 Iksar pariahs before the Bandit Lord pops

The Bracer of Scavenging has +5 dex, not +5 str. If you don't use a proc weapon or you already have a Scavenging (lore), the shackle would be better.

Shackle is better, true, but is irrelevant comparison, because monks can't wear the bracer of scavenging.

Was camping goblin fort for earring off Grachnist and killed this guy several times. Every time he spawned in same spot.

As you enter fort on east side of river through the south entrance with the stakes, go right to the ruined building. Dob spawned every time just inside on the left.

I saw Pit Fighter Dob three times today, always in that same spot. His spawn loc is (2960,-225). He dropped a diseased tongue each time. If he's not up, kill his placeholder.

This guy is pretty tough, he conned high green to me at level 47 and gave me exp on the kill - I think that makes him 35. As a 47 Paladin he wasnt a terribly easy kill. I had to root him and drop back and heal mid-fight so be prepared.

He dropped a Diseased Tongue. Obviously a quest item but I don't find any info on what quest it might be for. The regular pit fighters are much easier and drop the sparring gloves.

Shackle of rock
# Jan 28 2001 at 1:14 AM Rating: Default
I hope this isn't the only pit fighter in the zone. The shackle of rock (monk quest) requires that you kill a goblin pit fighter for sparring gloves. The quest, i thought was for around the lvl 17. How could a 17th anything kill a 30+ mob. I am currently on the shackle of rock quest any info would be great.

Killed the regular pit fighter in big gobbie fort, not sure of level mid 20's maybe (im 46) just killed him with druid for fun. Had a 35 monk-sold that account. The shackle of rock quest SUCKS! never finished it. You need to spend many hours on finger bones alone in Kurns, there are four sizes off rare spawn I kept getting 2 of the same sizes. Also need to go to checkerboard island. You need to be at least in 30's to finish quest, it would take a good Hundred hours of camping all together- For a 5ac bracer-RIGHT!

You do NOT have to be high level. I completed this quest at 20. Yes it takes a long time, but every mob you need to kill is in an area you can hunt for XP at that level. Think of it as a bonus while hunting and seeing a bit of the world

The reason for the length of the quest is not for the 5 AC bracer, but for the next shackle, which is also hard, but shackle of steel gives 9 AC and involves a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY HIGH foraging skill. Glad to help...

Iksars don't get a veryveryvery high foraging skill. In fact they get a veryveryvery low foraging skill with the capacity to forage rare things.

Remember, being a monk means working on your patience.

Oh yeah, and the shackle becomes something very very nice now (Tyrrhoneum):)

Shackle of steel is not the next quest. There are 2 interim quests (copper and brass). At 28 I completed brass, but copper still eludes me. Your right about Steel being the ultimate goal however.

Umm.. This is what I thought about the headband and sash quests in Freeport and qeynos.. Now, looks like I will need them eventually for the Monk epic. :( Who knows what the future will hold for the shackles?

Nope you dont kill this one, you want a regular pitfighter. Just sit in the one spawn ruin and kill till he spawns. Its boring but hey time to practice safe fall , fd heh.

Better than Enchanted Cab Scale??????

I have a full suit of Enchanted and it's +30str. Also many of the enchanted pieces are a little higher on AC which is a big consideration for a warrior. I am sure that it's comparable but I would not say it was necessarily better.
