Me (Aumdayr the Wizard) and my buddy (Schadenfrude the Necro) ((both Dark Elves)) duoed this guy earlier today, just to say we could. Now, he was level 12 and i was level 11. So what if he was twinked out the hoozah, with 1k hp 1k mana 15 mana regen. We still did it. MAJORLY high magic resist on my Shock of Lightning spell, but Cold and Fire did fine.

The thick-boned skeleton is a static spawn in the corner of the room; the odd mole has nothing to do with him.

found on 4th floor in kt, tried with 2 toons, both lv 18, both with maxed skills and twinked with gear selling for under 100 pl, warrior had no chance, forced to zone, cleric nuked him to death, ended with 2 bub health and 2 bub mana, he seems to be placeholder for thick boned skel.

Easily soloed by a level 15 mage. Used the water pet - maybe not the best choice, he ended up dying. But cast a few Burn spells on him and down he went.

I solo'd this little guy today at with level 21 necromancer. My roommate watched a level 24 melee class get chewed apart yesterday by it... I don't understand!!! As all of the other posts say, he hits for 65 damage. I had pet tank while I DOT'd it 4 times and lifedrew it 3 times. Between pet and I it took 639 damage to kill it, so it has quite a few hitpoints. I killed it in almost exactly one minute because it died a few seconds after my first DOT wore off (my gear helped a lot though). Melee classes beware, he hits hard and fast. This little rodent wasn't as worrisome as he is made out to be though, I didn't have to kite it and with spirit armor my level 20 pet didn't even die.

Took me a temp and an cloroplast and a cuple other smaller buffs but i killled the dam thing at 16th lvl, just got to get there and run (sow) right up to the top and kill the stragglers that follow, rest up a sec then go at it if its there (i checked first), you will get pounded on as it trys to run away but if your not alone (i was) then the others can clear out the skeles while you do your thing or befor (dont take too long dont want your cloroplast to fade befor you get the job done) and hay,, it was a close call with all that solo,, but worth it.

I love this little guy. He used to worry me when I was a little enchanter but now, at 52, I make him pay.

I cast Discordant Mind and bring him down to 13% and he starts fleeing. My 49 pet takes care of skelly adds as I follow him downstairs. Every now and again I whack him to keep him on the run. When he passes in front of the entrance, I mez him, blur him, Incapacitate him, then give a lower level character a chance to beat the snot out of him.

They love the xp and the collar and I love the vengence. Win/win. :)

I have 3 characters that have played in Kurn's from levels 9-20 or so. Only 2 of those characters have seen the odd mole. My Cleric was level 19 when she encountered the Mole. She was in a full group levels 19-25. The Mole was the smartest NPC mob I have seen so far. It promply rooted the Warrior, Shadowknight, and Monk in our group and went after the Wizard. It was triple and Quad hitting for 45-65 (most were 65). The wizard dropped quickly. It then turned to the Monk and against my best healing quickly dropped him too. The mole was at about 40% health at this point, although I don't know how because he resisted almost everything we threw at him. At this point he healed himself up to full health. This is when we all got really nervous. The SK, War, and then our Shaman dropped soon after. I was still at full health and had about 30% mana left. The mole had about 5% health left. Convinced I could beat it, I started casting on it. It resisted and ran into the hallway where it promply GATED out. Needless to say it was disappointing at the least. My second experience was last night was when it got trained onto my 13 Ranger and company. As you can guess, it went a lot worse, not to mention quicker. Be careful when messing with this thing folks. It may have the hitpoints of a level 20, but it has the spells and power of something much higher.

This is one seriously underconned little fella.

At level 19 he was blu to me so I gave him a go. He dispatched me and my pet like we were ants.

Level 25 I come back and try him again (green). Well he is hacking up my pet somethin feirce and having an aego on I hop in to tank some for the pet. Not good my health was droppin pretty fast. So I back out and root him root breaks real quick. Darkness spells dont stick to him and my pet is about to die time for this Necro to fly out to the zone I go with this little guy a chasin me and me prayin the dots damage him enough to put him in retreat so I can finally kill him. No Luck I got to zone or risk losing the aego if I melee and die

Level 30 back I come for this little green guy again no aego this time. Result pet dead and little mole chasin me out to zone. (got to love jumpin off the balcony for a quick exit)

Well now I am 40 and me thinks it is time to go pay this little guy another visit and see what happens.

A group of us took the little anklebiter on and probably would have crushed him without loss, save for too much DD done by a careless chanter. None of us are over lvl 17 though... we had a 11 paly, 14 chanter, 12 shaman, and a 17 chanter... Only one of us got killed, or hurt for that matter... I think they may have made this guy a bit less powerfull... but not any slower...

Does the pathing of this guy take him down the stairs?
I was looking for Solists Ice Wand together with a Ranger friend, and at one point, we were whacking some skellies on one of the stairs, we suddenly see the little guy scoot by. My friend yells KILL THE MOLE!, so we ignore the skellies, Snare&Root the little critter, and a few quad hits and nukes later, I was wearing a Tiny Collar on my waist, instead of raw silk ...

# May 13 2002 at 10:10 PM Rating: Default
I was camping him today, didn't get the collar though, just thought I'd do a post on what I noticed

-I killed him at level 28, I was at half hp when he spawned and ended with 1 bubble left
- This little guys spawns about 10 minutes before the hour (ie 5:50, 6:50 and so on).
-he spawns in the collapsed "window" opposite the hall you enter from
-he despawns in 5 seconds or so, so use a fast weapon or a bow to pull him (if you use a slow weapon, he wil despawn before your attack can recycle)
-he is immune to non-magic weapons
-he hits for a maximum of 65

I missed killing him 3 times (ie I saw him, but he despawned), cos I was camping the Stables in the basement at the same time, and lost track of time, only to have to train like 6 skeletons up to the top, then decide that I wouldn't be able to take them all on at the same time (all those little hits from the skeletons add up y'know)

I, myself, have never ever EVER seen this guy. I've been in kurns since lvl 10 an leveled all the way to level 22 so far. (I hope to level there until all the basic spawns are green or light blue) But from what i have heard you guys saying i think i may need a little help do you think a level 22 monk iskar with 600hp can handle this dude? I hit fer 24-30 with each weapon and my block, dodge, double attack, atc are all over 101. So just tell me if you think i could take him alone. I can take Giants in Warslik Woods, so i might be able to. Just tell me....

When I was killing this guy he poofed before I could finish him off. Do you have to kill him within a certain time limit? The first time I soloed him and he poofed, the second time A level 60 Enchanter buffed me up and he still poofed. That was at level 26 or around there, should I bring a group with me to kill it faster?

Just because I'm curious.. I have read all the posts on this little guy and the one question I have about the despawning while fighting is.. did you pull him from his spawn location? Or did you fight him where he stood? I am beginning to see the pattern. Those that he despawned on while fighting were toe to toe with him, and made no mention of "pulling" him. Those that indicated they "pulled" him from his spawn location, indicated being able to finish him off.

Ok, my warrior friend was camping this guy for about 3 hours, but he could never battle it because the little bug moved too fast for melee. After my friend left i went to check out the cook and jester spawns. Cleared out the bottom floor a few times while waiting to go up top at the top of the hour for the mole. Well, i misjudged how long it would take me to finish off a few burynai spappers, so i only had a few minutes to med when i got to the dining room. I was invis vs undead because i did not want to be busy with clearing the room when the mole popped up. That was a mistake. When the mole popped up, i was a little over half health and full mana, so i targeted and tried to melee, but i missed and he ran back in the wall. Well, my invis went away at the attack, so i had about 8 or 9 skelis on me, many of which were lesser icebones, but the mole was still targeted, so i went to the wall and casted lifespike and pulled him out. I casted Engulfing Darkness and then melee him down to half, but i was being hammered by all the skelis, and then he double hit me for 60 & 60, so i HT'd him for 271 and watched him try to walk away. I was getting low on hp, so i followed him down the hall and finished him off, pulling another 10 skelis on me. I looted the corpse to find NOTHING!!!!!! I had the entire top floor on me, OOM, and a little over 1 bub of health, so i staggered out, very dissapointed. Pissed me off!

For all the Iksar warriors out there, this guy needs to be dealt with for the easiest trooper scale armor quest (trooper scale helm).
Don't even attempt to solo this guy below lv 25 or 26. Most ppl i know did it at about 28.
You need to sit in the highest room in kurn's tower (dining room) and he spawns once every 60 mins in the first alcove at the far side of the room (directly in front of the hallway).
First off, you need a magical weapon to even hit him.
Second, he WILL hit you for 40+ dmg every time. And his attacks are fast.
Third, you will hit him less than he hits you.

The easiest thing to do is go in with either a grp of lv 20+, or get some high lv casters to root and nuke him while you attack, because his HP aren't really that high. But if u plan on soloing him under level 25, have someone there ready to drag your corpse. He may be small, but he packs a hardcore punch. I watched two lv 23 warriors get man handled by him. Good luck )

Well, I finally managed to pick a fight with this little so and so. He was blue to my level 24 (just dropped from 25) iksar warrior. He didn't despawn or anything during the fight, but stuck around til the bitter end. Dual wielding a wurmie and crystalline longsword I went toe to toe with him until we both got to about half, then he seemed to have opened a six pack of can o' wup*beep* and layed me out at his feet. I'm back to 25 now and will be heading back for a rematch when I get all my skills maxxed for the level.

I was camping the 4th floor of Kurns today and saw him spawn 3 times within a 2 hour time period. The strange thing is he was only around for maybe 5 seconds each spawn. He would appear, take 4 or 5 steps out of his cubbyhole turn and despawn. From what I saw today if he's not atked he doesn't stick around verylong.. I did however get a chance to con him before he despawned. Indifferent so he is not on the same faction as the other burynai in kurns. I'm VERY KOS to them.

WTF hes odd alright but hes no mole!! lol
It does despawn when attacked
# Mar 26 2001 at 2:53 PM Rating: Default
We camped him for 6 hours...only killed him once. 2 times of the 6 he despawned at abount 1/3 health. We were rather upset. heh I petitioned and the guide said it was a bug and that he reported it. The one time we actually killed it, he didn't have anything on him. Plus, we were dealing with serious lag issues at the time. I think it was our ISP.

Needless to say, it blew most of our Saturday night and part of our Sunday. What a pain. My wife said she had never been more frustrated. Quite understandable. What a little punk.

Despawn during the fight

Never happened to me, could be the lag issue though. It might have treated it as if you were killed or went LD or something and then went to it's fast despawn rate again. Definately a bug with your connection or the game server.

Minimum lvl to fight

At 27th, it would be a close fight. Again this depends on what he spawns as and what wpns you use to kill him... I have seen him as a Shadow knight with harm touch, a warrior and a caster.

My wife tried to solo him one of the 6 times we camped him. She is 27th Iksar Warrior in Blackened Iron Mail with almost 600AC. She has a Runic Carver 18/37 and she got him to half health before she died. I wasn't in the zone, or we would have taken it out.

Oh well. I don't know if her AC is better than average, but it works for now. Which is why we are working to get he out of that STUPID looking skull helm-look(Lumberjack's Cap) heh

Hope this helps.

LORE/NO DROP?
# Mar 13 2001 at 11:06 AM Rating: Decent
is the collar lore or no drop, just curious.

The tiny collar is both lore and no-drop, so either you have three choices:
1. complete the quest yourself and then just give/sell the (Lore) helm to the Iksar warrior of your choice.
2. Bring an Iksar warrior along to loot that collar. (this is what I always do, makes the warrior at least be able to survive up in a tower filled with skeletons in order to 'win' the helm.)
3. Multi-quest the helm with an iksar warrior where you both go to turn in the components and you turn in the collar first then then the warrior turns in the gems he paid for and gets the helm.

I am 36 warrior and I have camped the little mole for myself and several other Iksar warrior friends and guildmates lots of times and on lots of occasions, so I know what I am talking about as you will see as you read below. My best advice is to study this and take a printed copy with you to the battle to go over the tactics and decide for yourself what you want to do.

He spawns in the dining room on the top floor of Kurns. Get a map of kurns from eqatlas.com so you know your way around. If you look at the picture of the mole you can see some rocks behind him and a small piece of broken slab at his feet. When you walk into the dining room from the hallway on the top floor, and pass between the two skele's on each side of the doorway inside the dining room; those rocks are the ones STRAIGHT ahead.

His spawn time is EXACTLY 1 hour. When ever I camp him and we dont get him on the first pop or he does not drop the collar, I do a /time to see the exact time according to verant. Then I just make a note so we can be ready 5 min ahead of that time exactly 1 hour later. You need a 5 min cushion because you are always off a little due to the duration of the fight. We sometimes go to town, mess around with the skele's on all the floors, hunt in the basement, whatever. Just remember that you need to be back in position and have the dining room cleared of skeles, and be full str/mana/health whatever, all prior to the pop. I tell the younger warriors I am with that we need at least 5 min for all that. And if you leave the floor, plan on extra time to clear the room and rest to full health time prior to that 5 min too. (I say that you need to have the room clear because who needs a lesser icebone and two greater scale bones scratching your back in the middle of trying to pay your respects to the mole.)

His despawn time varies from 0.75 seconds to about 10 seconds. I mean this literally. Some times you just see a flash of him and he is gone in less than one second. This is why you must be in position. What we do is have one person standing out in the dining room with a bow ready and 1 person standing right next to the spawn rock, but off to the side a bit to allow the bow shooter a clear shot, rdy to swing. We keep our fingers on the attack keys because you dont know if you are getting the .75 second pop or not. Casters are too slow for this. By the time they target him and get a spell casted, he might already be gone. Especially if the caster chooses a long cast time spell. Necros and so on, can have their pet attack fast enough if they have a /social button set up to /pet attack as soon they target the mole.

The odd mole with pop and then run either straight out down the hall or to your right and under and around the broken tables in the room. The longer you take to target him, the more likely he is to despawn. If you can get him to fight, he will stay until the end. When he is low on hp's, he runs off and tries to go down the hall and down the spiral stairs to the right. If you are very low on HP's dont chase him. Just be patient, bind wounds, rest, and have faith that he won't just despawn and take your new tiny collar with him. He will stop and rest on the stairs before coming back to die on the end of your blade in the dining room. hehe. If you are doing ok, and you do chase him, plan on having two or three of the skeletons on each person in your group, since your being in a fight in the hall has a larger aggro radius and any nearby skeles will come to see what is all that noise. Plus the odd mole will run through the undead crusader spawn point, and all those other bonz plus this guys mace will cause you a little pain, and that is no good if you are already hurting.

His drop rate for the tiny collar is about 30 to 50% I think. The most I have gone is three empty corpses before getting a collar. This is regardless of his class. (see below.)

Now this is something not everybody knows. He is NOT always the same class and he is NOT IMMUNE to plain weapons. He does usually have that skin spell though. (This is where you do no damage to him until you do enough dmg points against the spell to cancel it out). Some people see the message " the odd mole is invulnerable to you" and get scared and think it is because they dont have a magic weapon. Listen, if he was truly immune to magic weapons, all those bazillion times I kick him during the fight, would always give the same message since I dont have magic boots. But guess what, as soon as you wear that skin spell down, your kicks start doing damage. This has always been the case regardless of what class he is.

At least two times I have fought him, he was casting poison, fear, disease cloud of some kind, and so on. PLUS, he harm touched me once. His lvl does vary between 22 and 26 I would say, but I cannot confirm this for sure. Most often he is just a plain old warrior type that does hit for 50-60 dmg per hit. If he is the SK his harm touch will take you down fast, but he spends most of his time trying to DOT you and not swinging. If he is a caster type, maybe a necro, he never swings at you. You just keep seeing lots of flames and sparks and stuff coming from your skin hehe.

His hit points are indeed relatively low for the amout of damage he does to you. If you keep slugging it out with him he will go down pretty fast. I think he has a bad armor class too. He takes damage from my swords faster than say, the iksar exiles or the Forest giants in WW. If he is a caster he really dies fast from low hit points and low AC, but you have to be able to live through all those DD spells and stacked DOT's. Also, if he is a caster, you will have to ignore my earlier advice of resting when he runs. You will need to keep hitting him until he is dead, otherwise he will stop down the hall and cast spells on you sitting in the dining room until you are dead. You make the choice.

As for when can you solo this guy. Some people have said they could at lvl 25 to 27, but I tried at lvl 29, and he popped as a 26 warrior or so and he wasted me. At 36 now I dont need to worry about any lvl or class that he takes. But then again I dont solo him anymore, I always have a younger warrior with me because I require them to be in the fight in order to 'earn' their helm. I dont just make the helm for my guildsmembers, I take them to the battle to wet their swords hehe.

Good luck hunting,

Seventh Hammer Iksar Warrior, Bosek, officer of Acursed Souls guild

I used to camp my Iksar Necrmancer in the dining room, cause it was a descent place to solo, id stand over by the alter/alcove just to the left of the entrance. I stayed here from about 13-18, and i would see this odd mole about once every two hours or so, i imagine i missed a pop or two medding, but i saw him every day i was here. He is just this fast little mole who runs around the room for a little bit and then just dissapears. I never attacked him, cause when I asked about the mole on ooc, they just said dont bother unless you need too, and said he hit kinda hard, only worth the loot no the exp. So anyways to my knowlege Bosek's info is 100%

Spawn Time

Ok, I will conceed that when the zone is re-popped or the server is backed up or something like that, the time will not be exactly 1 hour. In fact every time I have gone to camp the mole, he has been on a different cycle, so that confirms that something happened to break the cycle. But as soon as we see him once and get the time, he is back there exactly 1 hour later. Never failed us yet. I say us, because I usually have a younger warrior with me getting his first Trooper Scale piece.
