Im to lazy to go back and get a screen shot and such, But there is a Fabled version of this guy in the bottom of Kurn's. Saw him while hun ting the xp potion drop.Drops a Fabled Bargynn's Digger...Was kinda crappy so i let it rot :(

Right, along the lines that Undead have a seething hatred of the living. They have whats refered to in EQ as "Suicide Agro" - Another (living) example are the prisoners in High Keep. They will attack (I think anyone) anytime, any level. Even if they are certain to perish. Suicide agro can actually be very problematic in tight quarters, attempting to med, heal or anything else. *especially* when you concider many undead see through invis, a wimpy green makes a move, then a not so wimpy mob dispatches of you.

on a side note, i know EQ is now dated, but even for the time, this is some crappy skinning on this graphic. lol.

Funny, he was there the first time I went. Brought a 41 rogue friend with me, since we had planned on just goofing off, so we wound up in Kurn's basement. This guy, of course was a pushover to a 41 rogue and a 42 warrior. He dropped his torch and now my druid uses it. The End, have a nice day.

I've gone to his spawn 2 different times with a friend and we cleared the area 4-5 times. He has yet to spawn. Is there something else I need to do or is he just a very rare spawn?

was there last night was't yup first time I went by, but killed every thing in that area, then was back later place was empty every loged for some reason got bord and went to bank and there he was. Have yet to see the jester spawn yet.

Well...I'm gonna add another 5 hours on to my time spent Bargynn and still no spawn. Does anyone know if there's something I have to do to trigger his spawn?

I sat down in the basement for almost 4 hours yesterday, but did not see any sign of Bargynn. Has he moved, or was I just unlucky?

I'm gonna answer this myself, he is still there, the second time I went down there, he spawned after we had cleared the are once. :)

Just get to his spawn point and slaughter all the burynai/skellies there. Once done med/heal and wait for the next set of spawns. You should get the torch and digger in around 45 minutes this way if you are unlucky. I've killed this silly fuzzy over 5 times soloing

Yes, I'm way too high for this zone at my level (45). HOWEVER, I'll be going there anyway on the Eci server to scout for a raid and maybe pick up some pocket change. If any of you lower levels see me and need help breaking a spawn or want to pick up some cash for guiding me around, hail me and we'll talk.

He's level 20.

He always drops the digger and the torch (well, he did 2 times I've seen him and reportedly the 2 times a friend of mine has seen him as well)

And I got my digger tonight pretty easily in a small group - me (lvl 19 Iksar shaman, lvl 20 by the time I came out) a lvl 19 Iksar necro (also lvl 20 by the time we got out) and another lvl 21 Iksar shaman.

We just fought our way down to his room, and camped it for a couple of hours. He took a while to spawn first time but then spawned again about 20 minutes later.

So both I and the other shaman got our diggers for the mystic helm quest, we had a great time doing it and we got some decent xp.

Amazing how much fun this game can be if you camp things that actually give you xp.

His spawn time is changed, no longer 4 hours. Completely random so far from what ive seen. normally i pop down, clear the area to his room. clear that room (normally not up). kill everything else down there. come back. kill ph if hes not up. kill everything again come back and hes up :) this worked on the first try. Sometimes on the second. So i think its random. Torch and digger are always drops btw

#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 20 2001 at 11:49 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ok listen up all who are here for the twinking of their shammys, USE THE ENTRANCE TO FoB (the hidden tunnels) and go in that way with a group of friends i suggest a SK or a 55+druid if u want it quick have druid bust out pet when u down there, group with the person and u can just loot the stuff or whatever u needed so a 10shamman with skin like nature and sup camo can last a while if u take those hidden tunnel ent.s from FoB (check EQAtlas.com for FoB) if your going the other way its handy to have the SK and the druid they can be 30ish if ya want cause the SK will replace the pet for IVU's and buffs and yer set to go, easy as pie....mmmmm pie

Well glad some people are having it easy. I've camped this room 2 days in a row with my 29 shaman trying to get the digger for helm quest. Today I cleared the room 3 or 4 times, no Bargynn. I went to town to sell and bank all the coppers, came back and cleared 2 or 3 more times.. STILL no Bargynn. *sigh* Back for more I go. Hope the ****** spawns SOON!

Me and some guild mates got this guy to pop 3 times in the matter of 2 hours. It was all very easy for a 22 cleric 21 bard 25 wiz and 25 Necro. Fight your way through the tunnel to that lil c area. Best bet here if full spawn is there to have someone nuke them from your ledge on the opposite side of the lake. They will run around and come to you pick them off one by one then swim across to the left platform. Here you can mez/harm/calm whatever the large mob in the main part of the room. If your group tries to just swim over you will get ambushed by like 10 Burynai (not pretty) and some skeles. Just kill everything in that C shape area each time something pops kill it and in no time there's Bargynn.. rinse wash repeat. The 3 casters got Torches the bard got a claw all is well :) and not a single death.

What is up with all these "it was no challange" / "he's easy" / etc, etc people that are lvl 30-50+? Of course he's easy ... he's a lvl 22 critter! Many times I've been down with a group of lvl 15-18 (All Iksar: shammys, monks, warriors, and SKnights, oh my!) and we cleared the place (yes, falling down the pit to the tunnels) without one loss of life. If you go down there thinking "I'm lvl 30, I can rule down there" and don't know how to play, yeah you are going to die.

But a decent group (4-6, at least one decent shammy) where critters actually /con yellow and/or red (lvls 15-19) can have alot of safe fun: you learn how to pull in a controlled dungeon, how to taunt critters off your casters, how to spread out the damage, and otherwise play your role in the group. Take that 'leap of faith' to the tunnels and slowly work your way to the zone. If you are not having a good time, zone out. If you are, do a lap of the tunnels. At these levels you'll find the area will respawn before you've finished to lap, and you can do it over again. I get bored fairly easily, but I've been very happy to stay in Kurn's from 11-17 so far, and I've still got a couple of levels worth of hunting down there

Lvls 30+ have absolutely nothing to gain down here except frustration and boredom. If you are lvl 30, you have no business being down there - do your shammy/warrior/monk quests pre-lvl 20 and stay out of there. Leave the dungeon to the PCs that can not only get exp, but can have fun doing it. I'm sick of seeing some lvl 35's camping everywhere taking out all the 'special' spawns. Of course it gives me great pleasure knowing some lvl 35+ fools are camping the Jester for days and days hoping to get a IBclub (and never do). You'd probably make alot more money if you took up Jewelery and invested that time to building that skill up. Or went to some places more their level and got some real equipment.

By the way, don't understand why more lvl 10-20 Iksar aren't there ... Kurn's is a fabulous dungeon. You want to solo? You can, its safe and you get good exp. You want to group? You can (if you can find enough people to group with you ...) and again, its safe and the exp is good and the loot gets a bit better. You'll also occasionally find some rhinohide and/or Burynai armor which is decent at that level, plus you'll get quest items here (after 6 lvls here, my share has only been 2 rhinohide pieces and 1 burynai piece, though all of that recently since taking on the basement/tunnel levels).

Of course the dungeon doesn't hold more than 4-5 full groups well (2 lower level groups for the upstairs areas, 1-2 for basement, and 1 for the tunnels) so hopefully it doesn't get too popular ;)

I was down there with an under 20 group, and there were a couple of strays as well - we had no trouble at all ( which actually made it a little disappointing ). Furbacks will aggro easy and there are a lot of them, but dont fire missles and dont cast spells, you can hunt and peck all you want. My 18 monk can solo two escavators easy, and sappers arent that tough - they just hurt. I've never had the things aggro me unless I did something stupid. I'm confident a good 18-20 group can do this easy.
If you've read all this babble so far - here is the payoff - that cute little pool where bagynn spawns - is anti-magic - just try to get a spell to take on you while standing there >:)

Lvl 34 Magician.. I was bored outa my skull from waiting on the jester, I knew about Bargynn and decided to see if I could find him, I jumped down the hole in the wall thinking my my would follow me... he didnt... I sat down to mem invis so my current missing pet would die and make a new one, and WHAMMO, the closet rodent attacked me, I was in trouble without me pet.. I managed to make him runn off with a successful cinderbolt, I was at half my HP at that time, I quickly sat down again, got invis memmed just in time as the rodent came back and hit me again, ran off once I stoof up, casted my pet... sent pet to kill.. then I sat down to med and heal, what I didnt see around the corner was the 4 or 5 other rodents that jumped my pet and 2 of them came after me.. I called my pet back like crazey and he taunted 1 off, I nuked the other and it ran, I had like half a bub left and no mana, heard fighting quite a distance off, so I tried resting again.. I was ok then... after about 3-5 min heal and medding I didnt hear anything, got up and pet was there, and hardly hurt at all. went in search of Bargynn from there.. and saw that my pet had went down 2 diff tunnels and killed like a dozen rodents. woohoo go pet! NE way, went left from the hole I jumped in, then took a right, swam thru the pool to the left side tunnel and there was Bargynn and all his buddies. Sent pet to kill a Skellie that was closest to me, and 2 **** sappers came right at me. grr.. harm touch, harm touch.. DOT DOT DOT.. Pet came to my rescue once again, and I nuked others.. once again I was down to less than bub of health(after the DOT wore off) and no mana. This time I rested to full mana and I spared no mana nuking the crap outa the sappers first thing! nothing aggroed on me when I did that. repeated process. 1 full cinderbolt was enuff to kill the 2 excavators next to Bargynn, medded up, killed Bargynn easy. he is the middle spawn right in from of the little cute pool of water. repops around 15 min. him or placeholder. He always has both the torch and digger, and sometimes a little extra common loot. Got the claw for my iksar warrior too, its not too bad a wep, looks cool, but I wont use it for long. And about that icy wand.. I have killed thousands of the burynai and never found it.. I have found pretty much everything else they drop tho. Drueric the mage, Saryrn server.

I am lvl 35 iksar shaman lookin for Bargynn. I made a pet anf levitated down that hole and my pet aggrod everything in the room. I'm gonna try goin down there again today w/out a pet and see what i can do.

You're not supposed to find it down in a hole. It's supposed to be up in the dining room. At least that's wat I've heard.

no, actually it is in the tunnels below the bottom floor of the tower, there are two entrances both of which are a medium sized drop, the only way out of these tunnels is through about 30 furbies and skeles, which may be low level, but hit fast and hard, a group is reccomended. I tried to go down there at level 34 and still was pretty overwhelmed, had to gate out. good luck

Actually, it spawns in both places, i've had a friend get him in the kitchen and downstairs. It's easier to get him upstairs though due to the lack of sappers :)

If any Shaman needs a hand getting his Digger for the mystic quest on Tallon Zek, send me a tell. I have whiped Bargynn out 4 times in 2 days and he always drops the digger and the torch. The catch is, you must be able to get down to the tunnels on your own. I tried to help a lvl 12 Shaman, but he was aggroed on big time, and it just slowed down the task at hand.

To answer my own question, the Bargrynn will spawn in place of the Burynai Sapper; one of three Burynai that don't move around and spawn next to the small pool of water.

I figured this by actually clearing the room 2 times in the course of an hour, and when I least expected it, the Bargrynn popped where the Sapper should have. <ENSTILL> + <SHOCK OF THE TAINTED> + <WINTER'S ROAR> = One Dead Bargrynn

What surprised me even more was that it dropped both the torch and the digger. !WooT! What started off as an early morning wake up, and a "Ahh. What the ****, I'll camp the Bargrynn" Turned out to be a very fulfilling day. I finally got my Scaled Mystic Helm... now all that's left are the Vambracers.

I spent 4 hrs in the basement of Kurn's yesterday, killing burynai in hopes of seeing this guy. No dice. Track is fairly usless in the tower as you get about 1000 skeletons even if you are sourrounded by burynai. Please post an exact /loc for Bargynn.

neg 120 pos 240 is where i found him went down easy to a 21 monk with dual batons. thank god for fd though only way to get him away from his friends is to do an fd pull or be high enough that they won't aggro.

I was down there with a 53 druid exploring and the druid was there for the club but decided to explore with me. We clear the basement looking for a solist wand, then i ran into him. He took bout 8 good swings of hitting from 60 - 100. He was bout as hard as a sapper. Maybe easier. Not a challenge,,,,

I was nervous about taking him on considering I was unsure of his spells and he was surrounded by sappers and excavators, but luckily none of them aggro'ed on me. Even though they were pretty green, I think a couple of Harm Touches would have spelled trouble.

I rooted him and hit him with Affliction, Envenomed Breath and two Frost Strikes. He dropped in no time flat and I was able to resist all his spells (had cast all my resist buffs ahead of time). The other thing that made me nervous was that I couldn't have meditated if I wanted to because all the other burynai would have jumped me.

Looted Bargynn's Torch and Bargynn's Digger, which is a mediocre weapon, but is also needed to get a piece of Mystic Scale armor for an Iksar Shaman quest.

Gosh a level 20 mob is easy for a level 30 toon. My 19 Necro can solo lvl 20 mobs. That it is easy for a lvl 30 is not news. Doh This guy is easy for my 53rd level claric too, so what?

If you wanna med while clearing while killing the spot holder you gotta invs yourself, i just trained the whole room on myself, me being a 34 druid...yeah smooth i know and i died coz i couldn't find way out.
