Ok, so I went on a killing spree a few weeks ago and I am now KOS to the freeport militia. Will I be able to go and do the Pandos muffin thing if i am cammoed or will he kill me if i appear?
If he is gonna kill me then will the goblin ear quest do me some good?

OK...the ranger and druid epics start from Telin are NOT faction based...I have 'cannot possibly get any better' with all factions listed by all other posts on the topic I have seen. Telin himself is such an Ally he wants to spit polish my Tribal War Boots, and the dwarf in FP wants to marry my sister.
Anyone got any good information on starting the epics. If your sure its faction, which specific faction, and how do I raise it? If you know what level it is that information would also be helpful, its not 50+, I have a guildy doing it now who started it since Jan 1 2003 that started it at 47.

OK, let me clarify my statement then:
If Telin don't like you he obviously aint gonna give you the quest. If your 51 and Telin is 'indifferent' then keep turnin in dem muffins in FP. Good luck and safe journeys, and may Tunare bless your travels.
BUT...if your level 42 Ranger, Tunare herself is having your children, and ALL factions related to Tunare are stating 'Cannot Possibly Get Any Better'...Telin is spit shining your boots for you, and the dwarf in FP is giving you muffins...then it aint a faction thing anymore.

I am pretty sure you can do it at 46 (I know a twink alt of someone on my server who did it at 46).
I tried to talk to him at 45 but he said something along the lines of me not being experienced enough. I will check again at 46 and see what my faction is.

Aye it is a min level of 46. This is just because you have to be 46 to get to PoA and Hate.

Nonsense!!!It IS still faction based....I con indifferent to this guy, and he wont speak to my lvl51 druid when i hail him. He tells me to prove my dedication a bit more...well off to do the muffin quest i reckon

i have been in BW for an hour by SFM zone haven't found him on track yet
I can track him from the SFM zone. Just follow the wall to the right once you zone into BW. Have camo up and you will get him on track.

Try the Northwest side of the zone. I found him there.
I was questing for Wurmslayer last night, swung by this guy to start things off, and he said I needed more experience.
I'm a frickin level 45 Wood Elf Ranger that cons ally to him.
No fun. I want to start on this soon. Does anyone know if they patched to where you can't start epics earlier than 50 now?

Actually, I just started this last night with my 46 ranger. I know that I will need the guild to help with higher level MOBs but I got the thing started anyway.

I was able to start with him at 49 back in September and a friend did at 44 - this was after everyone said it changed to min level 51. I found that you had to be a little higher than min ally to start quest. He didn't give me quest, I went and killed maybe 40 crushbone orcs and he started it.

Under the Earthcaller epic quest info, people have reported that you must be level 46 to get NPCs to talk to you.
Sorry, friend. You still have to be 50 or 51 in order for most epics quests NPC's to help you out.

i was between hornets nest and Sky zone, when this dude started wackin on me. My pet pitched and i ran hopin to gate, however, this guy summoned me to his location and i got the dreaded message "Loading please wait."
Summoned? Ack. My 50 SK found him unintentionally last week, or rather he found my SK and started hitting, hard. Luckily I had SOW up, and I never hit him so I didn't get summoned. I was able to outrun him to the Skyfire zone.
Was heading to chardok when out of nowhere this punk comes and starts wacking at me. Allmost died to trying to make it back to dl zone. I was lvl 56 then though. Still they need to fix this guys faction and make it null. I mean after helping out so many druids and rangers getting thier epic pieces, wouldn't you like to come along with them for thier epic turn ins?

I had just logged in and was at the hornet nest when this piece of crap aggroed me from nowhere. Unfortunately I didnt have sow up and I died ( welcome back to level 53 ). So now he is on the short list of NPC's I will kill before I quit this game. Not sure what class he is, he didnt cast on me at all and wasnt sowed either and he hit pretty weak for a 55 mob. I have no idea where he spawns or if he was coming back thru that area after being trained to zone. I dont care either..Telin you will die soon..your days are numbered.

Went to see this guy when i was level 35 and he told me i needed more experience. I wanted to kill him so bad but he would have made short work of me. If i braved the wilds of burning woods then i think i should get the piece of paper. There are a lot more barriers out there to prevent us from getting our epic. We should be able to at least start it by level 30. Almost level 40 and when i get there i'll go back to burning woods with a group of level 60's. Then we'll see if his attitude changes. :)

I just started my epic tonight, and I had a faction problem with him. I bound myself beside him and ported to WC, ran to Freeport, bought about 300 muffins and went to the inn. Feed the dwarf till he must have been ready to burst, the original 300 and about 200 more,( because Telin still didnt give me the note after the first 300). I gated a second time back to Burning Woods asked "what action" and got the note.
I am not sitting in Gfay waiting for a ranger to finish with Faelin( and yes she is part of the Ranger epic too?). So, good luck and my advice is just feed the dwarf muffins(I con'd "kindly considered" when I left to get the note.)

i went with a lvl 54 ranger (guild memeber) to find him in BWs the ranger could track him easy from the giant fort. i was lvl 43 at the time. i guess i was lucky he coned warmly to me and had no problems getting the note from him. however to those that posted all you have to say is "what action" to get the note..well i am glad that is all you had to do. i had to have a big long drawn out conversation with him to get it. i am so glad the ranger that went with me did this part before and had helped others he talked me through the entire thing (about 10 different statments).
btw only hunted in CB for about 2 hours when i was lvl 14 and killed about 20 some orcs. i never really hunted in Gfay after lvl 5 but for a few short trips over to help some firneds. i did not do the muffin quest in FP. no clue how i got to warmly but so be it..hehe
BTW Telin really doesn't like our more evli races/classes. i have a good frined the is a DE Necro that hunted in BWs from lvl 47 to 56 and i think Telin killed him about 6 times give of take.

I'm afraid that epic quest NPC's will not talk to you unless you are level 50+ (or 51+, i forget which), so you have a ways to go before he will give you the quest :-(

Heh very wrong on the epic faction things. I (Level 45 Shaman) started my epic at 30 and got my Shield of Falsehood at 31. Have my Spear of Fate and Black Fur boots now(Obviously with help of guild).

not so, I am a level 39 ranger from the Seventh Hammer server and I have talked to Telin Twice, once to get the note and the second time to turn in the Dark metal coin that you get from Giz X'Tin ( think that is his name ) in Kithicor, so I don't think there is a level limit to starting the epics, at least not for the ranger.

STOP POSTING that you can do the muffin quest in WFP in wolf form if your KoS!!!!!!! Wolf form will only bring up your faction very little in this situation. It is a very differant faction setting then casting share wolf form on a Dark elf to pass thro.......If you are KoS in WFP there are many ways to build it up and posted very well on this site.
Or If you are KoS in WFP,(militia's most wanted list, not just evil race), and want to try anyway just /con them first. Keep in mind if it does work for you Don't come back and post something like "your wrong cause it worked..blah blah" That just means you have killed like 2 gaurds in your life and justa barely /coned KoS to them.
Update: This guy is on Faydarks champions faction.

worry just kill a few more.

I found him tonight at the zone in from DL, hits for 180 as im lvl 54 shaman. Not sure what he was doing there, I figure someone agro'd him to the zone.

Also some of the ways to raise faction are the muffin quest.. Killing cb orcs.. and killing DE guards in Nek.. You need emerald warriors i think.. But as for starting your epic early the best advice i can give u is get all your foraged stuff and buy a Jade Reaver..

You do not need to be LVL 50+. I talked to him twice to start the Ranger epic in the low 20's.

Well I know you wont believe me but as a 21 druid I was bored and went to Burning Woods to start off my epic, not that far away from Lake of Ill omen. Camoed over to Telin watching out for the undead and /say What action? Of course no reply as my faction is indiff. Bound there ported to WC walked to FP gave around 300 muffins to the Dwarf, gated back /say What action? got the note. so its not true. Hope you believe me, cause im not lying.
You may have been indifferent faction because you forgot to drop invis, maybe?

Amiably is enough to talk to him. I don't think it's a faction problem. Have you been invis when you asked him? If yes, that's the reason :)

I started my epic at 40 and tried getting him to talk to me .... he would not. I then went directly to Morgains meats in Thurgadin and bought about 160 muffins to do the muffin quest with. (I bound myself right in front of Telin BTW) loc is pos 3230, pos 2850 I gated right back and tried again and he gave me the note. This is purely faction based not lvl whether or not you can do this part of the quest. Good luck to all who embark on this huge undertaking, more to come...

You just need to "/say What action?" and have good faction and he will give ya tha note.
BTW: auto-attack key is bad, very bad. Hitted it by accident and he killed me.

Just a note to anyone doing either the Druid or Ranger epic. You need to con better than aimiable to Telin, otherwise he tells you that he doesn't think he can trust you. I went with a few friends to BW (I was only 32 but wanted to get a jump on my epic) And conned aimable to him, but he wouldn't speak with me. Another ranger conned ally and got the quest no problem (which makes sense) The druid that was with us conned friendly and wasn't able to con.
So I went to Crushbone and killed orcs like they were going out of style, my faction with Crushbone says I can't possibly get any worse.
Hopefully with the 4 million orcs I've killed my faction will be good enough to let me start my epic.

Ok there seems to be a lot of confustion about Telin. First of all his faction. He is on Faydark's Champions, which is Wood Elf Rangers. To increase it, you can do any of the newbie quests there, however the simplest way is killing Orcs in Crushbone. If you are not high enough level to clear out CB solo, then you don't need to worry about anything in the Burning Woods. Next what the hell he is for. He starts out the Ranger and Druid epic quests (epic info at www.monsterweb.org). Plain and simple as that. If you are planning on killing him, I have heard he is one tough *******. I heard a lvl 60 Necro got his **** kicked by him, but that is a rumor, I don't know if it's true or not.

Do the muffin quest in wolf form. Pandos on the second floor, hog callers Inn in FP.
You'll need about 400 muffins -- buy near the theater -- and you can do that in wolf form too. Turn in four stacks of four muffins and you'll get your faction.

Kill 1000s of CB orcs
This way is your best bet. Killing always gives a higher Faction increase over item turn in.
