Also drops the Hollow Skull.

He spawned for me in the middle room near position 3 on the eqatlas map. His place holders are in the right corner as you look into the room. There are two other badgers in there. The PHs are skellies and badgers.

unlike other creatures in the tower, the cook or his placeholder are on a 1 hr spawn timer. I've done this quest several times (I have taken almost 15 chars from lvl 10-20 in the tower) and I've found its just best to randomly pop by the dinning room if you happen to have a skull handy. They sell for 100pp on the bazzar on stromm (good pp for a lvl 15 char). I've never done the quested version though, and do not know if the end result is different. If somone could tell me I would apreciate it.

I killed a skele and it dropped glowing skull and handed it to him, he then says I now leave this dreadful place or whatever, he just falls apart like the other skeles do. But it did not say a Seleton cooks corpse. So I casted a 500+ nuke on him and it now said corpse on it, looted the sword, and sold both the skull of torture(the item he handed to me after returning skull) and fine steel long sword. Hes it's like hes giving good items away for free hehe.

Just reading all of these posts reminded me that I picked up a tiny glowing skull with my rogue... this is what is said...

The Lore Tiny Glowing skull is the leader of a group of shaman who were cursed or something, and the other non-lore skulls are the followers. You need one lore and 5 non-lore skulls for the 4th Iksar Shaman skull quest. They drop off of Goblin Bloodtracers in Warslik Woods.. Best place is the first goblin ruins you come too when you take the right trail instead of the one that goes to the giant fort. This is on the assumption that you are an Iksar coming from Cablis...

As an aside, there's supposedly another tiny glowing skull which is Lore and has a -5 CHA stat

I looted Carnelian and Ivory from the forager. Has any one tried these? I know Carnelian is used in Monk quest, but since the Forager drops the other 3 items... maybe the 4th is off him also. I think the glowing of the skull might have more to do with gemstones than and actual glow. But that's just a guess.

Ok I think i have a very good hunch on this quest. And the reason it hasnt been solved. First lets examine the clues. You get the skull with four slots from the cook. The scroll from the jester tells you exactly what it is missing if you read it. No eyes, no tongue, to taste the sweet honey flesh. The eyes and tongue both drop off of the forager. But that leaves one empty slot. And the forager doesnt drop the fourth neither do any of the other spawns here. Lets think now. Why does the forager and only the forager have these items? Maybe the clue we have been lookin for is he foraged them? Not sayin a character can forage them but maybe the fourth item which very well could be Sweet Honey Flesh is foraged in kurns by a master forager. Or maybe you need to let the forager forage around for a bit to get it. Since mostly iksars are in kurns and their foraging skill isnt very high. This could be why it hasnt been found. Unfortunately my highest lvl character is a 28 iksar Sk I may well never know. But ithink I am on the right track here. Any else think so?

I have not been doing this quest for as long as the majority here seem to have been. However this is my theory... Glowing mask in Guk from the skelly monk... eyes from jar... and how about a froglok tongue? why not? get a glowing mask from guk why not a tongue.. **** why not a frog meat too for the sweet honey flesh? or maybe sweet honey flesh is bixie parts/meat? I dont know really but maybe i can get someone elses brain going on this. 8-)

If you all actually read the note, you will probably find this quest makes some sence.

Within the tower lies the corpse of Mirgon Dower.
A faithful follower of Kurn's deadly tower. He served Kurn and kept him very well fed. Now it is time to replace his head. His new head did glow once upon a time. Now there are no eyes, no tongue, to taste the sweet honey flesh. And so the years flow. When all are back together the magic will once again glow.

Hollow Skull off cook, a no brainer. Part of this quest. Canopic jars off Forager, very very possible to be part of this quest, especially since finding out you hand in the jars to the skele by the dry docks in OT (invis to undead and swim can get you there, you don't need invis or any high level) gives you eyes back. Tongue drops off Forager too, so yet another highly probable possibility. No mention of this "Glowing Mask". I have spent more time than most in Kurns Tower, and have pulled 9 IBC's and 3 Solists from it, just to give you an idea on how long I have been in there. This is really simple.

Hollow Skull, 4 slot container. May not use all 4 slots though.

Eyes mentioned have been found off Forager, as has tongue. Self Explanitory.

After killing the cook for the about 500th time, I figured there was no mask. Noone has verifiably seen it. The mask everyone mentions drops in Lower Guk.

May work and give you something on the combine of these 3 items.

If the combine doesn't work, what then? The note mentions Sweet Honey Flesh. A drop or something made in baking? Froglok Legs are sold in Cabilis, and froglok meat is easy to get. I wonder if this was a hint of what was to come in Velious with the tradeskills related shawl quests....

My opinion, noone has found this elusive mask from the cook. Stop looking for it and look for a recipie or a drop called sweet honey flesh. If you read the books available in cabilis, and look at what they have to say, you may find a hint of a food item made through baking that is the last piece of the puzzle, or you may find a mention of the flesh needed. Just a thought.

The other side of things, and all Iksar SK's should be well aware of this after how long we had to wait for Greenmist to be fixed, the quest is not fully implimented yet.

Ive been doing this quets for 2 years.
I have carried the skull, eyes (removed from canopic jar), and dried tongue with me in hopes of finishing this quest. Skull does not combine with those three items. Nothing else that would seem to work, fits in the container. Anything that fits into the container does not combine. I have been meaning to try a Emerald Jungle Fruit for some time and havent tried one yet.

Let's assume the dried tongue and two eyes (after being removed from the Canopic Jars) go in the skull. (All three are off the Forrager - ****, camping for all three will be rough... I did it - very long).

Who's to say there is a 4th item? Has anyone combined just the 3? I haven't got the eyes out of the jar (level 26 Iksar SK) yet but I'll work on that and try it.

I've never heard of a glowing mask off the Cook in Kurn's and I've seen many cooks there... I don't believe either of the two glowing skulls that drop in the tower can fit in the skull container (only tiny items go inside). Besides, does it make sense to put a glowing skull inside a skull container?

The tongue and eyes alone don't combine. Neither does it combine if you add the Jester's note.

Just Following on with a logical thought progression, i would expect that having the 2 eyes and the tongue there would be a brain somewhere. I have the skull and am intrigued enough to attempt the remainder of the items. As such I have been trying to postulate a likely candidate for the fourth item. Has anyone had a brain of some kind drop in Kurns or FOB?

heh, canopic (not opTic) jars were ceremonial jars used in egyptian mummification. They were used to hold the brain, eyes, tongue, heart, and liver (not absolutely sure on the liver, but I do believe there were only 5 jars used in a mummification) It was believed that when the dead rose to walk again in the spirit realm, they would be able to use the organs preserved in that way. Sorry about the school lesson, but ignorance is the bane of all mankind, and maybe within the lore of canopic jars might be your answer if you look hard enough.

I spent 14 hours camping the jester when i was in my low 20's. Most of the time the tower was empty, all except for a 39 shammie who was camping the jester, and me. Basically, we went walked around and cleared the entire floor, then would med and talk and do nothing until most of the mobs respawned, then we would do it again. I killed about 12 Thickbone skeletons (only one foot dropped) and 8 or 9 fingered skeletons. That was it!!! No Jester and no Cook!!! I ended up making about 30pp (mostly in cp) and went out and spent that cash and just bought the shield the next day. I just want to try to start the hollow skull quest! Is that so wrong?!?!

I've killed the cook about 20 times and it always drops the hollow skull but sofar no glowing skull or head or whatever.
I also got the 2 different lore gems from the thickboned skeletons and from the forager I got the tongue and TWO no drop lore dusty sealed canopic jars which means I guess u can only see the difference with an identify.
I am almost sure u need to get the 2 eyes out of the 2 jars and add the tongue and "glowing skull"
if that dont work i always got the 2 gems to try but i cant get that "glowing skull" anyone who got it can give some info bout how it looks like and how it is named? It must be pretty rare since I didnt get it 20 times... or is it the glowing skull from a common skeleton like mentioned earlier.. ah well maybe i try get the eyes out first and find out.
I sure hope its not a broken quest.
PS: the shield from the cook seems to be 1/4 to 1/5 drop indeed but wouldnt camp the cook for it hehe even when lvl 20.. I let them rot if noone in the tower wants it way too heavy for a monk :)

Okay, hollow skull quest:

1) Everyone seems pretty happy with saying the tongue from the Burynai Forager is one of the items.

2) The gems (sapphire and emerald) are unrelated, but the "sealed canopic jars" sound promising. "Take them to a guy in the Overthere's evil outpost, can't remember his name, belive he said he was one of the skellys working on the ship on the shore. But you give him the two jars, and he opens them, and gives you the two eyes." Hopefully if you're an Iksar, you know a Dark Elf, because you'll be KoS until level 50 or so.

3) add the "glowing mask" from the skeletal cook, and see what happens.

If anyone solves it, please lemme know: limbodog99@aol.com

RE: Hollow Skull
# Jun 23 2001 at 4:30 AM Rating: Good
Tis not for a monk quest, the container that you combine the 4 fingers in is droped off of a sarnak couriour in the Lake of Ill Omen.

This conainer is for a quest that has yet to be documented as completed, in it you combine..

1 A Glowing mask, rare drop off of the skeleton cook, i have yet to see this item.

2 a dried tongue, off of the Burynai Forager

3 and 4, also off of the burynai Forager drops a dusty sealed canopic, you take this to Vox Nir in the OT outpost, give it to him and he opens it up and gives you the eye that was inside...I have had one Jar, and done this, and now have one of the two eyes needed, from what i can gather, you would just have to do this twice, because the jar is lore, unless there are two diff jars, which i have yet to see.

Combine them, and see what you get...

Gwildor, 40th Dwarven Rogue
Orkko, 16th Ogre Shaman
Skeezikk, 15th Troll Shadowknight
Ekkimus, 14th Iksar Necromancer

Gotta love the people trying to sound smart!!! The container that you combine the 4 fingers in is NOT dropped by anything, you have to talk to the dancing skeleton that the Great Oowomp summons in timerous. The sarnak courier drops one of the fists, the skeleton gives you the one that you need to combine the fingers for, and then you have to get 4 items from the Cabilis area to give to the Iksar Master in timerous for the 3rd fist. Oh, and have fun with the great oowomp, he's KoS so make sure you sneak behind him, give him 5gp, then RUN pretty far from the spawn and feign death, then hurry back and talk to the skel to get the fist...Turn in those 3 fists and you get the shackle of rock

The Great Oowomp is not KOS, he's indifferent. He once was KOS, but people complained about a quest NPC being KOS to the people that need him for the quest, so they changed that a while back. The change was not really necessary as he's for the monk quest, and you could always sneak the gold to him to get the dancing skeleton.

However, he will come to the aid of any of the other Ogres there, so if any of them agro on you, he'll jump in.

Figured what the hey, ill camp the jester, and run around the area he spawns in killing every skelly i see. Well, i wasn't there very long, when low and behold, there was an undead jester, so, i beat him down, no club, just a fs two hander, and a note, read the note, can't remember exact words, something about a guy who's layed to rest in the tower, and his head is missing, he needs his eyes, and his tongue, and his skull will glow again.

I /ooc'd my find, no one knew anything about it, but not to long later, i was told of a "hollow skull" container, it was no drop, and dude didn't want it, so, it was mine =)

I grew more interested in this quest, so, that night at work (which is where i am now, hehe, what else is there to do at work other than reaserch eq? hehe) i looked high and low on the net for this quest, i cannot remember which thread i found this in for the life of me, but i came accross a post, saying that you take the two "sealed canopic jars" to a guy in the Overthere's evil outpost, can't remember his name, belive he said he was one of the skellys working on the ship on the shore. But you give him the two jars, and he opens them, and gives you the two eyes.

Then in the hollow skull, you combine the two eyes, the tongue, and a "glowing mask" rare drop off of the skelleton cook, to get a Glowing Bone Helm, AC 18, +7 wis, +7 int, SV magic +10, and OMG if this is correct, i sure the **** hope its not no drop ! hehe, other wise i guess ill be the envy of casters =)

The gems that drop are for the Iksar warrior pike quest series. They are the memory of Sebilis. Once more we find ourselves wracking our brains over a broken quest (

About the hollow skull, I've got one yes and the gems are NOT what you put in it, they Identify as the Pools of Sebilis (Sapphire) and the Gardens of Sebilis (Emerald). However, one of the canopic jars I looted recently from the burynai forager Identifys as the Right Eye of Torture, and the tongue off the forager is the Tongue of Torture, wow, imagine that. For now it seems to be broke because the jars are too large to fit in the skull. And as for having to put 4 items in, I don't think so, unless there is a moldy snotrag or was a finger up his nose =) And I doubt they'd make a 3 slot container just for this

I also recently found this note and am trying to find those very same items to try and combine in the skull. its not a quest that is mentioned anywhere but in this tread, and I wouldnt say it was a broken quest... you dont know that for sure, unless you tried to solve it? dont assume

The items I believe you must place in the hollow skull are.. Emerald - LORE ITEM and Sapphire - LORE ITEM(both drop off fingered/cook/thickbones)
The tongue and the enzymes container that both drop from the buynai forager. I havent got those items yet, the gems are easy to get, the forager seems to be as rare and the **** jester... Im kickin myself too cuz I destroyed all these items before, not caring bout anything cept getting the club. Drueric the Mage, Saryrn server.

When I killed the Jester he had a note on him that said something about putting the head back together with the eyes (the gems that drop off of the thick-bone and the fingered skeletons) the tongue (Forager drops a tongue) and some honey meat jelly (also dropped off of Forager)... has anyone ever tried to combine anything in this container to see what happens??

head into the basment towards the jester's spawn area. at the bottom of the stairs on the jester floor, go straight ahead through a little hallway that splits off to the right (to the jester) and to the left (to the fingered and cook). As soon as you take the left there will be 3 rooms. the first room is a great place to heal n med. the room in the middle is where the cook spawns. he might have 2 other mobs in the same room with him more often than not. the aproximate location is: neg:40, pos:90

I have killed this guy several times while i was wondering around looking for the Thickboned Skeleton.

I don't think so.

You'd get swamped by random MoB's walkin by while you struggle with one of the Burynai sappers or something.

By now, though, you're probably level enough to handle it. I'd wait until your group is at least 13-16

The cook is about level 20 so it would be rather difficult but the really hard apart is that in between the zone entrance and the cook there are about 50 skelotons of all types and a ton of burnyai at your level i believe the burynai will agro you. So you would have to hunt your way through them and be very carefull while you camp the cook because there are always skels and burynai spawning in the area about every 20 min

I dont know what the skull is for either, but he drops it everytime. Its a container of somesort, and is no drop. the shield is a rare drop and the cook himself is a uncommon spawn.

The enzymes container will not fit into the skull, tried last night. Anyone else know the 4 items needed to complete the skull?
RE: Hollow Skull
# Mar 28 2001 at 9:13 PM Rating: Default
I think this relates to the note the jester drops, you need to combine the 2 lore gems that drop in this corridor (think they came from thick boned skelly) and the tounge from the rare burynai spawn (same corridor), can't figure a 4th item to put in though.
note says the cook's corpse is here and head used to glow, but now head is empty and is missing two eyes and tounge to taste the honey of life (or something close, dont remember exactly). Looked everywhere I could think of for more info, everything for this quest seems to drop in this corridor, anyone have any ideas?

It may be that there are only infact 3 items to place in here, being as all containers have to have an even number of slots. Just my 2cp

Hmmm... I found a glowing skull on a lesser charbone from the hall area between the Jester and the Cook. Didn't know what to do with it, if it's at all related, so I left it rot.
