This mob and the one titled Sepsis Rat are both classifed as animals. I was able to charm him as a druid and make him my pet.
This MOB is NOT related (as noted by Allakhazam at the time of this post) to the 4th Qeynos badge quest at all. You may run into it and have to kill it along the way, but is not a required kill and does not drop a quest item.

My post over 2 years old and this MOB still listed as a quest MOB for this task. it isn't part of the task anymore than the bookoo other trash MOB's in the zone.

Man that sux, I have been turning in the fangs for exp and now I will probably have to run all the way back to Paineel to train arggggg!!

I did battle with this thing at lvl 38 with my pally and won due to its low MR...but it had some magical skin that absorbed about 1300 damamge before i finially started hitting it...is this a buf that was cast on it by some wandering npc or a standard thing?
The rat may have wandered back near the Bloodsabre guild, and some enchanter guildmaster casted a high level rune spell on it.

just crusing around in the catz and he aggroed on me, level 16 druid half elf. dropped me in 3 or 4 hits.

Just FYI, I was hunting the necros, specs and sepsis rats the other day--over a period of three days, we got two Shimmering Sapphire Rings from the rats--15hp, 5 SV fire and 5 SV magic...not too shabby.

two hits on my level 9 paladin dropped me also there is a dude with a skull face carrying a scythe that is there also that does big damage. both were ny the necro guards. must be all the gnolls at bb i have been killing?!!!?
skull face = spectre... bad news. I can walk by some of the ones near the Temple (Amible spectres? Whodathunkit?)
It's not the gnolls... it's 2 things.
1) You're a paladin. They HATE paladins.
and
2) Turning in gnoll fangs in Qeynos drops your Bloodsabre faction. The SKs and Necs down in the sewers are Bloodsabres.
Oh yeah... you're very KoS.

Do Gnolls Actually live in BB? Butcherblock or.... oh Black Burrow. People should change the short forms for those 2 places!
