Found near the shaman's guild in East Cabilis. You can perhaps get to him easier if you use the tunnels in the water.

  • This mob spawns at 532, -834.
  • Respawn Timer: Nine hours after being killed and from five to fourteen hours after zone or server reset.

His location in East Cabilis is (532, -834), but what most people fail to mention is that you CANT get to him by jumping in the water and swimming up through 1 of the holes.

Here is my strategy for this mob start to finish.

1st - of all, when running through Cabilis, use invis, NOT iksar illusion. Only about 1/2 the mobs change from kos while in illusion so invis you way through the city for sure.

2nd - to get into the sewers, you have to enter through the shaman/sk guild area. You use the red glowing walls to get up into the building, climb to the roof, and decend down the ladders on the east side. They will take you to the sewers.

3rd - once you find your way to the sewer, you're going to drop down a massive hole in the floor and thats when you can begin your search. Cast LEVITATE otherwise youre going to run in circles, each of the 1st 3 hallways have invisible traps in the floor that drop you to a 1 way exit back to the sewer entrance. there are several 1 way walls in here to its important to take your time, look at the map and plan your route. If you get lost or stuck and have to swim out through the water, its ok, just invis your way back up and in and try a different rout. I got lucky and only had to restart once. The first correct direction I can point you in (once you get to the 3 hallways w/ the invisible trap floors) is to take the one to the west. Yes its going in the opposite direction at first but the turns/path lead you right around back to him. The room hes standing in is a square with a hallway leading to the right (i believe south on the map).

4th - The Fight - the best strategy to fight this guy is to pull him into the water (via that hallway south I mentioned). I say this because he does run at 20% and he'll leave you behind if he walks through 1 of the walls that you are unable to. If you pull him to the water, he'll swim around but you can always stay close up on him.

5th - Fight Info - I believe he's classified as an SK. When you fight him, make sure you bring some MELEE dps. When i fought him, I was a 62 enchanter and he resisted every single one of my spells. When I went to fight him, my group consisted of me (62enc) and a 63 beastlord. Both of us were geared in mostly defiant gear. Along with us we had a tank merc and a healer merc. So in total there was 4. Although it was really 3 since I was useless the whole fight.

The fight only lasted about 2 minutes. He ran as expected once he hit 20% hp. He his pretty hard at around 200-300 but the healer merc had no issues keeping everyone above 90% hp. Was a very clean fight, tank merc held the agro and the beastlord used his pet and melee to take him down. It might me a bit more challenging if you're doing it in your low-mid 50s, but the strategy of bringing him to the water and needed melee dps is still the same.

I cant speak to whether or not he'll be up when you look for him. From what I've read, he has a respawn of 2-7 days. I can't confirm since he was up when I went looking for him. The drop is 100% i believe so you shouldn't have to do this more than once.

We also Just did him today, with a group of 6 60+ he was very easy. and again dropped 2 Xolion rods. again we had 2 60+ chanters in the group.. very handy.. lets go see if Verina is so accommodating.

As a matter of fact, Verina is also this accomodating - She dropped 2 for me as well, however, other enchanter of high level already had her epic, so a 21 enchie got the other - With +5Int and +10Cha, it's quite nice to have anyway.

This was "fixed" in a recent patch. Apparently the Enchanter epic was too easy while two were dropping at once...

Took him down tonight, 61 chanter, 60 ranger, 61 rogue, 54 rogue, 61 warrior, 58 cleric, 56 beastlord. My chanter tashed him from outside the last one-way door and he slammed against it, attempting to get to me, and I tried to debuff him. MR very high; maybe a shaman could have slowed him. (or the beastlord) He finally popped out into the hallway and the beating commenced... cleric ended at 60mana.

If you can handle yard trash in POP, this guy is a breeze.

Also he dropped TWO of the rods, which I had not heard of before, so somebody else on the server was able to benefit from the kill.

I was wonderin if anyone could describe the romm he is in, i currently have a mule camped in a room with an elevated platform and a hole in the roof. any info would be appreciated

I went on one Drozlin kill a while ago that was just as simple as many of the previous posts. Then someone else attempted the kill recently and the group could barely dent his health bar after pounding on him awhile. When the two beastlords let the pets take over, Drozlin's hps went back up like he had some mega regen.

I read elsewhere that some have encountered a bugged version of Drozlin, where damage done to him was around 30k+, yet his health barely moved. When this was petitioned, they were told he was bugged, and on their next attempt he was doable. Can this be further confirmed by any readers here?

Dropped him tonight on Luclin, no sweat. Way oversized raid force. Not bugged.

We dispelled, tashed; couple of dots did stick but mainly we pounded him into the turf.

Placed my lvl2 Ikky SK mule yesterday to watch him. Getting there was frustrating because of all those blasted barracudas. Swim into on of the walls of the opening, look almost staright up, and keep hitting jump key. Jumped out after about 15 seconds of trying.

Our chanter witnessed Drozlin's death one evening, so had a time to start from. Kept a L8 Iksar on a second account sitting there (online most of the time), starting 2 days later. He was finally up after about 4 days 10 hours. So the 2 days +10% rule does not apply (unless someone else caught him in the couple of hours we were offline at some point). I read somewhere else that said the respawn is actually between 2 and 9 days.

To those who say Ikky's can't jump out of water at level 1... I've done it on a 1 monk and 1 shm... just gotta look at the ceiling and keep trying for your life... only takes me 1-3 jumps normally

I've wandered around the catacombs looking for this guy and have yet to see him. I agree with the post below about the difficulty of jumping out of the water. (I think they may have changed this to make it necessary to go through the shaman guild.) I finally gave up and went through the other entrance found in the basement of the shaman guild, east tower.

Can anyone narrow down the LOC a bit better? I went to the Loc given by Peign, "about pos 560, neg 830 when I saw him." This is just a generic room. I figured Vessel might actually spawn in the large chamber with the open ceiling; can anyone verify this?

This generic room is where he always spawns. The whole fight takes place in that small room, and when he tries to run away he takes the wrong one way door and can't get out.

OK, I made an iksar shammy to camp this guy. At level 1 I swam into the tunnel as described in the posts below. When I came to the second openning I attempted to jump out of the water. But it's too far for me to jump? I've been at this for half an hour. Is there some trick I'm missing here?

"At the SECOND opening, pop up out of the water. It looks far but if you just look up and keep pushing forward you will pop up onto the ledge. Buff up in this well room. "

Perhaps there was some bug at the time, but my level 3 iksar (with a swim skill of 100) had no trouble jumping out at any of the 3 openings. It takes a few heaves into thin air, but other wise she was able to get up there.

She's a warrior, and I waited until level 3 because at lvl 1 the darn barracuda were giving her trouble. (They're level 2)

It probably requires a better swimming skill than a lvl 1 can have, even an iksar. was able to do it with 148 swim, but it took a couple of tries.

A fairly easy battle. If you have well equipped damage dealers and one cleric, Vessel can be dropped in a minute or so. Employ usual lvl 60 mob tactics. Have Warrior engauge and tank him for a few seconds till aggro is established, then send other melee in to beat on him. Dont bother trying to slow him or debuff. If anything maybe dispell his DS.

Got him with a group and one half, but I have seen him taken down with less. Dropped the Xolion Rod and 8pp

ok i have not seen him i not up to the part of my epic yet where i have to kill him but hopefully will be there soon but anyway isnt the shaman guild full of iksar ? how do we solo pull him out of there ?

55 SK tank np~ much easier to keep aggro through the whole fight too, even though it's not the most mana efficient healing and rune-wise :P Think we had like 7 ppl there total, 2 chanters, 1 cleric, 1 sk, 1 warrior, 1 bard, 1 druid, 1 shm (who buffed but did not participate in fight)

Confirmed him to be level 60; resisted all taps, lifetaps and AC/attack, I think he is an SK because he HT's which I sent the loyal Jarer in to soak up for me, and not sure on hitpoints but I was bored so I just did a tally and I hit him for a total of 4667 dmg (using a 17 25 hammer) and the DS on me did 4368 dmg total. Add the melee dmg done by the bard and the warrior and you have his hps since he was MR, so I guess I'd say maybe around 20kish?? And yes his max hit was 315 and he likes to cast Fear too... landed it once on me but it only held for like a fraction of a second. He stuns a helluva lot with that stick of his too.

Was fun, I was actually expecting to wipe with me tanking, but was happy for our chanter when we won yay

Took vessel out last night. 1 group, 2 56 warriors, 51 warrior, 55 cleric, 54 chanter, 54 druid. He was dead in no time, even though the druid and me(chanter) could not land a snare or a slow on him. When he got down to running away hit points he got stuck on the 1 way door we entered in. In RE to are they major faction hits, no there not bad. The 51 war with us was Iksar race. He is still okay for his faction. For those who want to know which faction hits you get here they are... Faction standing with Legion of Cabilis, Cabilis Residents, Scale Mystics, Crusaders of Greenmist, Swift Tails all got worse. I would say if your group member(s) are worried about faction hits have them quick camp when he starts to run. I did not see any guards? Are there even any? Has anyone had to fight them?

Thanks to my friends for getting together so quickly to kill vessel before someone else got to him. heh

Do please have anyone concerned with faction /q out. Our Iksar shaman sent his pet in to take the HT at first, but didn't camp out before the fight ended and took a significant faction hit. It hurts when your own cityfolk look sideways at you. Smiley: frown

Killed this guy a few days ago. He is a level 60 necromancer. Took him down with 60 warrior, 60 druid, 56 cleric, 54 bard, 55 enchanter (me). Fight took at least 5 minutes, but ended with he cleric and I both with at least 60% mana. I don't even think the druid did anything other than throw a couple small heals. Max hit was for low 300s (forgot exact number, I think 315). He is indeed completely MR, as ToT was resisted.

Theft of Thought can be resisted, but it is a scaled resist like nukes- partial resists get partial effects, only a complete resist will give you the "resisted" message. ToT usually isn't resisted much if at all, though. If you pay careful attention to your mana bar when you cast it, you can sometimes notice the difference in the mana it draws from the targets. In one session, I kept a caster mezzed while the rest of the camp was cleared, hitting it with ToT every time it refreshed... Over a course of 6 or 7 casts, I saw results from 3% to as much as 17% of my mana bar regained from ToT on that target- the amounts ranged at random, so it was not a matter of starting high and then dropping as I stole all its mana.

Point of this ramble is just that ToT isn't an all-or-nothing when it comes to resists... It's a very low chance of full resist on most MOBs, but partial resists aren't that uncommon.

I can't prove that you are incorrect, but I have never had ToT resisted. I have not tried it against dragons, but everything else it either lands on or gives the message "Target has no mana to affect" or some such.

Go fight drakes on Isle 7 in PoA. With 255 int at level 56, ToT got resisted everytime. I've had it resisted on a few other higher level mobs, but most of the time it isn't.

also anyone who thinks verina is on a 48 hour timer still can look at the over 200 hours of text i logged from when i did her.. as far as i can tell she's random 2-9 days wouldnt be suprised if they did this to vessel to =)

you have to zone in east cabi, follow the left side of the doorway, then go ahead until you reach the lake / pond area. Pass the bridge and you will see a ledge. dive in water and below the ledge there's the underwater tunnel. swim straight until second opening then jump out of water it should lead u to his spawn location doing this.

I spotted Vessel Drozlin with my gimp Iksar on 2-25-02. I logged on my main and got a couple of groups together with 2 clerics and a couple of druids for ports and backup heals. This guy doesn't appear to agro at all until he's attacked. He has a DS that throws up spam, so cast recant magic on him, but no need for anything else. Just wait for the melee to wear him down. He did try to escape through the invisible wall, but it didn't work.

I am currently camping Vessel with an Iksar alt, been three days since patch, and no Vessel. However, I have alot of Iksar friends that plan to help me on this mob. With the faction loss, what is it? Permanently KOS or is it just a small hit? Otherwise, may have to find some that are not Iksars to help. Thanks!

We took a:

55 Warrior
55 Cleric
54 Monk
54 Shaman
54 Druid
54 Chanter

Buff up, let shaman pet eat the HT, Warrior tank with defensive, druid and shaman rolling sup heals until tank at 50%, chanter rune while cleric cheal.

We killed Vessel Drozlin (60) and The Tangrin (55) both in the same night with this group. The Tangrin was much closer fight.

Getting it Done

I've done this twice now and it is not hard at all. Gather your 1-2 groups outside in FoB and invis up. Run into Cabalis and follow the left wall into the city. You will run by some buildings and come across a dock area next to the water. Jump into the water and swim into the sewer entrance under the dock. At this point, invis can fade as there is no aggro while in the sewers. At the SECOND opening, pop up out of the water. It looks far but if you just look up and keep pushing forward you will pop up onto the ledge. Buff up in this well room.

NOTE: Sewers are made up of 1-way invisible walls. Once you pass a wall you can not go back and you do not see them until you pass through.

Go straight to the "T", go right, follow hall left and the next right is Vessel's room. There is a 1-way wall as soon as you enter his room so have the MA rush in first to get aggro then everyone else follow. Be sure to stay in the room and kill him. Not that hard really. He has UBER MR though. With tash and a 60 Shaman using Malo and slow he kept getting resists but not the new immune message for certain spells so it may be possible to slow if you are lucky.

Kill, loot, done and done. BTW, no one in my group was KOS to him and I believe he is tied with that Legion of Cabalis faction you eventually max when fighting in Seb night after night after night... He does carry some faction hits. Five but I forget what.

Best way to get to Drozlin is to have a mage who knows his way through the sewers get up there, and then CoTH others up when safe.
