go to south felwithe and kill that guy easy with my 82 necro got my lil paladin one and my sk for his epic was real easy and spawn rate was real quik
My 65 Enchanter killed him easily with his J1 Tank Merc.
There are no faction hits for killing him and the guards
didn't assist him either.
Sure beats camping a ghoulbane for my baby paladin.

Soloed with my SK (lvl 65 - 8500 hps - 1300ac full buffed) yesterday on AB 15/10/2007. Easy fight conned dark-blue, sk health never went under 80%. Mob never used LOH. Around 10 mins of fight cause the sk dps. He drops both Ghouldbane and the shield.

This silly elf spawns in the most eastern room of the MAGICIAN (not wizard, you silly people) guild area. I'm not going to brag about how I killed him because he wasn't even a match for Jabarn. His max hit on me was 177. I've killed him twice and no LOH. He is a runner.
He has a fair amount of HP and is sort of resistant to fire nukes as far as I can tell. It didn't happen often, I did not have to Mala or Malo to land spell either.
I was hoping he'd give me a faction hit, but no luck on that. He does indeed summon and tried to cast stun on me and my pet quite a few times. Nowadays it would be much easier to kill this light elf than actually camp the ghoulbane as he drops it and the shiny brass shield every time.
Spawn time is 7 minutes on the dot; corpse rot is 30

He didn't lay on hands and dropped the sword and a crap sheild.
I didn't get a faction hit, and didn't aggro other guards as they walked past me killing him.

Ok just killed this guy for Ghoulbane, well at least a 66 SK guildie did for me :) He does summon, so be aware of that, but the SK soloed him with really no problem. Found him in Magician guild in Southern Felwithe.
Its official... I soloed this guy on my level 62 Shadow Knight for my paladin. I logged him nearby and killed on SK and looted on pally. Was a lil tough. I had conviction, wunshi and KEI. I used 1 full hp potion and 1 full mana potion and used full stats vet reward. he hits REALLY FAST but doesnt do more than 170 damage a hit. Anyway i forgot to use leechcurse disc... woulda made things much easier.

You will want to bring 1 other person at least unless u are insanely buffed, have alot of potions, and have vet rewards. But either a cleric or a DPS and you will be fine for the most part. the cleric could be like 50+ or the dps like 55+ ish. This was a tough fight for my SK at the end i had the wizzy and guard on me with 30% hp left and once he was dead i ran to where he pops and FD until they walked away and camped to my paladin and looted. He repoped very soon like 30 mins after i killed him so dont worry about respawn.

Went looking for him for my enchanter turn-in. He just did not show up using the find command. I thought for sure he'd been killed for that silly melee weapon Ghoulbane.

I am a level 65 SK and soloed this guy about 10 minutes ago. I was buffed to 7200hp/1500ac with Conviction and Cloak of the Akheva. This guy does hit fast with a max hit of 177, average hit of about 90. The guard added in the middle of the fight which is strange because I wasn't KoS to the guards there but like it says in the old newb tutorial in the eq manual "guards might attack you if you fight in city limits". I tried killing the guard for about 2 minutes but Joren kept healing him/switching back to me for a few rounds at a time &c. Seeing the time sink I switched back to Joren then HT'd him (2300 dmg) at around 26% followed by a spear (800 dmg). This combo took him to 12% which puts him at about 20k hp. He began to flee from me below 10%. My pet killed the guard while I killed Joren so I looted the Ghoulbane and peaced out. I used the leech curse discipline and one Healing Tonic X which wasn't really neccessary since I finished the fight at 70% health & 15% mana (burned alot life tapping the guard). He didn't resist Blood of Hate or Spears at all. As a final note, I initiated the fight with a Nullify Magic which may or may not have made the fight easier.

Me and 4 other guildies took this guy last night. And im serious this time unlike the other posts i've put up about killing mobs. He is very resistant to magic, but never resisted my dispells. He quads in the 130's to 170's and attacks really fast. He also stuns, summons, and heals at about 40% health. Real toughy just for a ghoulbane. Im 52, also had a 62 cleric, 62ranger, 54 ranger, and 44 druid with me.

Killed with a 68 rng and a 57 war and myself at 51 shammy.The walker stop by when joren was around 40% and we split and killed joren first and finished off gaurd.I didn't notice LoH but may of missed since was concentrated on heals.Wasn't very hard for our grp and of course dropped the shield and ghoulbane for my friend wanting it for her pally.Would suggest gettin it this method then questing the darn thing.

In the Qeynos Hill near Surefall Glade, there is a pond with a little shack on the shore. He is normally found inside the shack.

Why shouldn't he drop Ghoulbane? IMO from a roleplaying perspective I'm sick of these super powered mobs dropping bronze swords. Sony needs more easily accessible mobs like this that drop semi decent weapons.
need to add the Ghoulbane and Shiny Brass Shield to his drops =P

68 DE SK Inny worshipping and he was indifferent to me.
i'd heard he dropped a ghoulbane, and a fellow guildie is interested in doing SK epic 1.0, so i went to see how hard he was.
one guard pathed near him, i just waited for him to go away, then pulled joren to the corner. festerding darkness landed 3 times it was cast, dar constriction was resisted twice, spear of decay resisted twice, touch of inruku landed each time, and bond of inruku landed each time. i'm not sure how many hps he has, but only took a couple minutes, and the guard never pathed back to us.
he healed himself a few times "joren nobleheart feels a healing touch" but never used LoH that i saw. he did attempt to run at 20% but snare stuck and he stayed in the corner.

That is the message for LoH. The NPC is level 60 with an arse load of HP, and level 60 LoH without ILoH aa's would only be a 2kish hitpoints to begin with. So he probably LoH'd himself a couple times for that.

Decided I wanted to take bite out of a Pally instead of tracking down all the pieces or killing frogs for my Ghoulbane. Unfortunately, he's no longer 50... he's 60 now.
Still managed to take him down with a 65 Monk/65 Chanter. The guards do not assist him, so I used Project Illusion to make the Iksar monk a high elf. Chanter kept uproar on the monk most of the fight and managed to slow him after a tash. He does run on low health, so snare or root.
He still drops Ghoulbane and an SBS as of 9/12/2004.

I was running into South Felwith to do a part of my epic when I saw his corpse on the ground. I said what the heck... may as well loot him. Imagine my surprise when I saw his loot :)
Low level pallies, you got a high level friend not caring about being loved in Felwith? Here's an easy ticket to a major part of your epic :)

You have to be 50 or higher for him to talk to you about Prince's Head. I did not check him at 50, but at 49 he sent me to hunt beetles, and at 51 sent me to Chardok.
Wonder what he'll do if a sub-50 enchanter hands him a head - will he cough up the chalice, or laugh in your face? Moot point for me by now, but curious.

Every time I go up to him and say "I have been sent by the king", he tells me Im more suited to beetle slaying or there was a gnoll pup a few miles back that I could have a challenge with. How can I start the quest!!!???

Hello, I am a dark elf enchantress on tunare and would like to know what faction is Joren under? None is listed above and I would like to know so I can try and start raising faction with him. And, no, I am not agnostic, so I will need more then just illusions to get buy I think.
