Gen'rul Down
# Oct 22 2004 at 9:28 AM Rating: Default
Obviously these old epic guys get easier with newer kit, expansions, levels etc...

Taken down on Vallon Zek with a 68 Troll SK, 69 DE Mage/52 Rogue, 67 DE Necro, 52 Ogah War, 52 DE Cleric (purism aint ded yet omg!)

As the cleric I didnt actually need to heal, SKs Lifetaps would have kept him alive...almost ;) Since I was there I had to do my bit *grins*

Pet pulled the building with rogue acting as targetter, cleared all but one, spawned big guy, went as clockwork. Job done :)
PS: No fancy EP gear here, some nice GoD drops but nothing crazy uber, so this guy is doable solo without as much grief as some peeps suggest ;)

Ok some rangom rogue asked me to pull this encounter for her (56bard I am)... heres my experience

we had 2full groups... 2 clerics.. 3 tanks.. and rest were DPS with multiple druids wizzys a chanter and others...

first of its like impossible to target some of the mobs inside the house so I used my bind sight on one of the mobs to target others then paci and pull...

1st pull I accidentaly pulled whole house so had to zone

2nd pull pacied all Dark Elves and pulled all the trash

3rd pull pacified all... pulled 1... 2 came.. so I zoned and tagged one we killed him

they have about 16k HP and are pretty easy if u single pull em

did same thing till there was 1 Dark elf left..

rogue did turn in general poped right inside the house... I pacified the dark elf and easily pulled teh general..

he has 30,299 HP according to my parse Max hits for 285..

killed him in 42 seconds was very easy.. in those 42 seconds he did 4,441 damage to our tank which is about half HP of a 65 tank... so theoretically this cane be doen without any healers

hardest part about this enounter is single pulling the house other than that its a cake

Did him last night
# Sep 02 2004 at 10:46 AM Rating: Decent
Ok so my guild just did him last night. Was about 15-17 people. So first pull, most of the house came...if not all...and a few people got wacked. We regrouped...rezzed the fallen...and moved to RV zone and pulled to there. Pulled again...this time 4 came. I got killed along with a few others BUT we killed 3 of them. So unlike most people we had the Advisor as the only named DE in the house. Well guildie rogue friend goes to do his turn in. General pops whacks rogue then monk pulls to group. He is a punk!!! pouch drops. Grats Kuriosity! So I (55 Rogue) go do my turn in. Hand the pouch...general spawns but I didnt get aggro! Whacked him again and guess what?? Drops Cazic Quill!!!!!! W00t. Another epic rogue on Tarew Marr!!! Thanks Polywog for tankin.

Oh yeah. House has a HUGE aggro range. Bard and Chanter both tried to get close enough to lull the house and got aggro both times. Hardest part is getting the house spawns solo. The general is cake.

General Kill
# Aug 17 2004 at 6:46 AM Rating: Decent
Completed tonight with a 65 Warrior, Monk, Enchanter and a 53 Cleric. We pulled the entire camp solo via Pacification, except for the Brigadier. Once the camp was clear, the Rogue turned the book in to the Brigadier and he switched back over to his Enchanter. Pacified the Brigadier and pulled the general. It was an extremely simple kill done in this manner. The Warrior has about 6500 unbuffed HPs and was only buffed with 53 Cleric buffs. As long as you have the tank damage shielded (Project Fire Elemental and Feedback), lock in Defensive and you're set! Hope this helps!
Pulling this guy
# Apr 15 2004 at 9:30 PM Rating: Decent
Maybe not the best place to post this but just a few lines to tell how we dropped him. We had a necro use snare for one mob in the house, then as the rest of the mobs would agro, he would train them to WC and our secondary puller would tag the one that was slowed. We killed in this manner and kept the Brig mezzed through the kills. Then we all zoned and lost agro so Brig would pop back at the house. After agro cleared we set up right at house and did turn in, killed General and then Brig. Force was about 14 peeps I think around lvl 61 average. Pretty quick kill once we got the pull down.

Just wanted to let all of you who try to take him on this little bit of info that I'm not seeing in posts. Whispering Winds and Ill Tempered Sea Bass (and friends of both guilds) joined raids to do a double turn in. After clearing the house except 1, our Rogue went to do turn in. YOU NEED TO CLEAR ALL YARD TRASH...Rogue lost his box because a zombie / skelly was in the Generals spawn point. The other Rogue got his and the General went down quick as usual. He did drop Edge of the Nightwalker but no Quill.

Good luck :)

so what god are they comparing him to anyway?

back before the release of Planes of Power, this guy used to drop entire guilds. Now that lvls have been increased to 65 and gear has been massivly improved, he doesn't usually wipe out raids. He is still quite formidable none the less.

I was on my way to the POK from Highkeep earlier tonight and was traveling along the wall in here. It was the first time I have been in Kithicor while it was night time, but I didn't think much of it. I reached the entrance of Rivervale and saw a few skeletons so I stopped and waited for them to leave since I am only a lvl 27 mage. Once clear, I went inside and turned the corner, and somehow this guy was in there and killed me off in 3 hits (with the feeble 460 hp I have). I don't know how he got there, but it looked like 5 other mobs were in there as well. Not even a chance for me to move.... :(

65 SK, 65 Pally, 65 Cleric, 65 Druid, 59 Cleric, 59 Bard, 62 Necro and 55 Rogue - and we ain't wearing Uber gear either

59 Cleric Chain casting Cheal, 65 CLeric patching and Pally doing group heals.

Had the bard Harmony and cleared the mobs out 1 by one till we had the general on his own. Then beat him up. Was pretty close. Both Clerics oom just before he ran for it and the SK died right near the end when the General feared the CH cleric

Just finished this on the Nameless Server 10 ppl 45 seconds and a Rogue had his Epic (58 Rogue, 55 Pally, 55 Shaman, 52 Nec, 65 Cleric, 65Pally, 51 Ranger, 65 Pally, 61 Chanter and 57 Wiz) ... I was reading these posts as we gathered in Kith and feeling a lump in my throat wondering how many people i had brought to thier doom. However it went off very smooth no deaths and besides the Initial hp loss when the rogue did the turn-in and pull ... no-one got below 80% health. it is better to go in worried and come out relieved than the other way around.

Helped kill this guy for rogue epic. Fight lasted about 15 seconds or so and no deaths. We had around 18 or 19 people high 50's/low 60's mostly. He dropped a breastplate, the piercing weapon, the sk shield, the piece for epic, and the 2HS weapon. We had a 65 monk pulling and MA was a 65 bard. It was a pretty fun fight. There wasn't a full spawn so we only had to deal with the General. I got hit 4 or 5 times when he took a liking to me. Hardest he hit me was 290. (I'm a 61 monk) Good luck, rogues, this guy shouldn't give any problems if you have the manpower.

I hate this prick. Hits for 185 with defensive up. Lifetaps a LOT! Can be disease slowed for 40% wizards with spell casting fury are your best friends in this fight. Pull him, tank him, slow him, heal tank, nuke/beat the bloody **** out of him. Then point and laugh at his corpse.

Oneshot you are a clown, on Jun 9th he posted on the page for highest lvl mob in like 20 zones, saying he either soloed them, or duoed them and that they were all easy.

No one is impressed, even if it were true. Go away pls.

Uh he only pops when a Rog turns in his sealed box to a dark elf.. so either you are lying or you highjacked someones epic quest. But I think you are lying anyway - highest hit 206? Possible but unlikely. Not saying the right 3 people couldnt do it, but its hard to believe you 'looked on track what you know old General'

I would believe you if your magelo profile is accurate, but I dont think that is either

Talk about the luck of Innoruuk !! I was running through Kith Forest one morning and stumbled upon this dead General. I quickly looked around and hit a 'who' and find I was only person in the zone so I stop to see whats left on this poor souls body. Low and behold ..a NO DROP 'Ashenbone Shield' ShadowKnight use only. Praise Innoruuk I say to myself as I lift this item off his rotting corpse and run like hell to the zone line. Just want to thank whoever happened to have killed this guy becasue, at Lvl 24 this is the best item I have gotten. It happened on a GM event night with the werewolves in Commons. It's such an awesome lucky find I may just keep it equipped for life regardless of if I outgrow it. Nepolian on Rodcet Nife.
Our Encounter
# Feb 03 2003 at 7:35 PM Rating: Good
We have killed the general twice, dropped the quill one time. First time did it with about 17 people some 60s most mid to low 50s, second time laid him out with only 14 people 60+s and mid to high 50s, had an epic rogue already. We have one planned death each time, that is our pulling ranger who maintains agro on the general using weaponsheild near the end to survive long enough so our 61 war gains a nice chunk of agro. After that with the general beating on MT, the healers spammed small heals, while I (60 necro) dropped every dot I had, sent pet, and FD'ed. Rest move around the general to prevent excessive pushing, tash/malo/mala, slow, dump at 25-30% life, toast with MT usually never dropping below 50% and our 3-5 healers ending up with about 70% mana. Biggest pain is waiting for Coercer to spawn for the hand-in and rezing unfortunate rogue agroed by the good General.

His MR is significant, most of my LTs were partially resisted with 1/8 hitting full and 1/4 being fully resisted. Splurt and pyro worked fine. His DR and PR are significant as well. I couldn't debuff him using Scent of Terris. 3 attempts were all resisted. Most poison based DoTs were fully resisted as well. I think I was able to nuke him fine with Cold based nukes.

Max hit about 300, dual weilds, double attacks (effective quad) and taps for 500 very quickly. If you have ~1.3k hp and get agro, kiss your butt goodbye. First second will drop you well within low hp agro limits and he'll finish you off without a thought.
A little more info...

Ok, I had never done this fight but was tasked with leading a raid to kill him. After a couple unsuccessful pull attempts using 62 monk FD and me, 59 ranger tag (to clear all but one DE at the house), we tried a different approach.

A level 65 cleric and myself sat on the hill just to the West of the house. He pacified all but one, and I pulled the one that was not pacified using DD or arrow. The raid party waited at the HHP zone. Using this method we easilly pulled every one single.

Once there is one DE left, the rogue did the turn in and the cleric pacified the hand in DE while I pulled the general.

Conrary to popular belief, he is not as difficult as a god. That's just plain silly. You don't need a CHeal rotation, but one cleric may not be able to keep up unless you land slow early. Just have secondary healers cast low aggro heals from the outset to take some pressure off the main healer.

And... I see the Cazic Quill isn't mentioned in known loot. Is he not dropping that any longer?

As far as epics go they werent introduced until Kunark so technically hes not really an old world mob and should have decent AC. As if a Kunark Mob.
