tainted seafury cyclops  

I killed Sea Furies for several days, 7+ hours a day with no tainted.

I read this post and got a couple people over to help me keep the population down and poof, 15 minutes later i had the tainted.

Sitting camping tainted 'cuda and expecting another long camp like I had this morning at the seafury's (7hrs) Maybe I can save my brother and sister Druids some time (or it could just be a fluke) Anyway, used East shore of island to pull to (was mostly quad-kiting) as it seemed safe (and was :) Noticed on track from time to time a "Cyclops", though it wasn't on the island w/ the Seafurys. As I said, spent 7hrs there and so finally I decided to mix it up....The "Cyclops" appears on the island just to the east, so I lev'd over there and made quick work of him. Sure enough, after my next 4seafurys (which respawn almost immediately btw)The tainted appeared! Maybe coincidence, but after camping almost all the Mobs and even the quest npc in GF (5hrs for a turn in :P )I am starting to notice that the PH is not always the trigger, mearly a PH... could be wrong. Ok everywhere existe bad and good people.., why do i hear sometimes if a "druid" did something bad then i hear DAMN DRUID and not DAMN "name" of this guy???

So, please stop critic all the time Druid and look at yourself first.

Who back heal CLERIC when they get aggro from CH ?? isn't druid the most part of time ?

For myself i ll tell u, i spend my free time when wait for our group, raid or anything, most time in felwithe or another newbie zone in buffing, helping etc..., i never get any coopper yet for a sow cause i think it's really like making busness and we are in a magic world, a game, NOT IN OUR BANK!

then, ususally i cant tell you HOW MUCH people "Donate" 3 or 4 pp per PORT ! TRUE, very far from 20 or 50pp. Only since i become 50+ and port people more often people 50+ they will donate more (it's only 3/10 time when i get something) even i have never asked a donation at this day.

And, believe that, a group really appreciate when :

You BUFF all group with your group buff,
PORT all for who's dont have Pop for exemple etc..
SOW you all, or spirit of scale of Wolf when ya need to make a quick run.
or EVACUATE You when all turn bad,
And BACK HEAL yes, cause CH Make often cleric aggro then, Ur tank are happy to have a back heal wich often can save him life.
Then, in many place we are usefull as TRACKER, go track a mob in a donjon without a druid or a ranger(also much critiqued).
And? can u FORAGE? No cause for your brewing and baking tradeskill you ll need thois simple little things sometimes as vegetables? Can u ? No, me i can, and then u have it and lvl u tradeskill.

Druid can also make a good control, ROOT, SNARE, fear animal charm they, they can blind them target etc.. etc.. etc.. You can root but can u snare to get time to run a bit for a chanter to "RECHARM" him "pet", or to Root ADD and run a bit from it etc... no, me i do it and sometimes it's save group.

Yes we do not have a SPECIALISATION, but all that is our job as yours is Keep us alive our is to help by many many ways, DS, BUFF, ROOT, SNARE, DOT, CHARM, FEAR, PORT, TRACK, EVAC...

So, yes i love to be a druid and yes i appreciate the others class/race in EQ, so please stop to be so restrictive in ur mind...

You, as a cleric, u can't go really far without a tank, a tank can't go really far withtout a cleric, but u both can't go really far withtout a slower in some place, and you all three can't go in some place cause u dont have Sower and Evacer... yes we all need each others. That's in EQ all people have a place and a role to play.

As a 51 druid I have to agree with alot of your complaint, "most people that play druids are not very considerate in the way they pull" however you have to understand a few things about a druid that makes them a nice toon...
Although we don't have any 1 strong suite like cleric heals, or shammy buffs, necro's DoT's or wizzies Nukes. we get a blend, you say don't let the druid group he dosn't contribute....
Myself I prefer to solo for a few reasons, #1 we are not clerics and don't like sitting on our can while everone else dose the work,
#2 although our DoT's are too slow to make a noticeable differance in most group battles they are very nice combined with our damage dealing roots.
#3 We can Quad without help from others, like getting a sow, (generally once a druid starts quadding they get better xp then groups and don't have to listen to people who have never played a druid past 34 telling them how to play their charecter.

Now I'm not saying solo is the be all end all, I like grouping in a balanced group or a complimentary group (shammies and necro's make killer root and dot partners, any tank makes a good partner, for that matter if the druid know's what he is doing and the other player know's what they are doing any combo can work extreamly well)
Now as far as anyone complaining about druids quadding...I've had more problems with wizzies then druids on this, and if you invited then into the group instead of shunning them, then maybe you would find that thay can make an excilent puller...(DoT for attension, run to group, snair, root and then ds Tank, maybe refresh DoT on Mob, or go find another prime target)
No insult ment to clerics but one of the things druids hate about groups is being put in the role of a 2nd class healer, our healing spells like the shammy's (BTW LOVE their Buffs) are not upto par with the cleric, and in general do not like sitting on the back line playing back=up healer.
Primairy role though I hate to admit it is to snair mobs that will run, Damage Shield main tank (and regen or chlor, which clerics don't get) Heal when cleric is OOM, and most importantly in higher level zones EVAC.

Maybe I'm an exception, I've PL'd strangers for 5 or 10 levels becus I was boared (BTW Don't DS Tanks, you want their skills to max) I have spent numorus (bad spelling I know, 2 am) occasions where I have ran threw a zone tagging everyone I see with skin like nature and sow (mayby storm strength and chlor) and I DON'T except donations for it, it's only mana...
As for not answering tells for ports or sows ect ect ect, if you were hounded for symbol every 5 minutes for 3 levels you would get callouse to it too would you not? Except for the one's who farm =( most druids that are anon are that way so they can get something they are working on done without too many interuptions.
All in all befor you rip a class play it a while and see where they are comeing from...

i would have to say you are wrong my friend, all tainted mobs are extreamly random along with their corrupt counter parts. ive killed 4 mobs and had the tainted spawn and then ive camped others for hours to get a tainted, and with the aqua goblins ive had like 5 tainted spawn but only one had the corrupt. so yes it is all very random, has nothing to do with the quest being active. only certain parts of the epic actually have an 'active' part, such as the dark elf corruptor where you have to do several hand ins to get the mobs to spawn.

some druids might feel that this is broken or something, but it actually is working...a bit better now perhaps. there use to be a problem with these guys constantly popping too often. the tainted is now a rare spawn and takes a while to camp this guy for the druid epic. however, i know it still spawns because i killed it last night after about 2hrs of camping. (we were pulling trains to speed up the chance too.) good luck to the other druids doing the epic.

I shouldnt be wasting my time flaming this topic, but I just want to say something..

Everquest is like rael life.. there's different people.. blacks, whites... different fashions, etc.. Some peopl you see whom appear nice, getnlemen can be very ignorant, rude, and such, however there's people who dress like fools, and hobos... but really are nice people.. In other words.. I've seen MANY enchanters who are very ignorant, and feel more important than everyone else, and they're right to have fun is top priority to anyone else, BECAUSE they are one of the most essential classes to higher lvl groups.. and they know it. However, there are also MANY enchanters that are very friendly and would walk without sow accross zones to give you a c2, if they were asked to.
Druid or not, people are behind those characters... druids are a fun class to play and because its a game.. attracts many n00bz because they want to have fun...
I was denied many groups because I was a druid by people who didnt know me.. and at high levels, groups look for classes they need rather than classes they dislike, and discriminate.
I've been denied groups, help, guild applications, even rezes of the cleric sittign right next to me with full mana and LFG on.. because I am a druid.
I port people all the time for about 90% of the time, free, not accepting donation, and like posted before here, dont even get thanked sometimes. I finaly got into an awesome pretty uber guild, that accepted people for who they are rather than for what class they play.

so now i am off to camp the clops some more, and I am sure I will be discriminated within the next 10 minutes of when i get on... if your a druid, at least mid-level.. you know what I am talkin' about.

You missed a few in your tirade. I am not halfling, nor woodelf (nor human, which you skipped). I am half elf (which you also skipped) and I have never, EVER, camped a kill that could've helped another class unless I was grouped with a class who needed the drop. No, instead I do ports or buffs without getting thanked (that high level Monk with his epic on Fennin Ro who went from GD to Skyfire disbanded without EVEN SAYING THANK YOU upon arrival, you know who you are) and I continue to do it because why? I know that after the 80% of EQ players that are total jerks, there are still the 20% who are nice individuals. By helping everyone, including the ********* (and you know who you are) I end up helping the good ones too.
So flame us Druids if you like. But be prepared to acknowledge that there is NO CLASS (or race) out there that you can say "100% of them are nice". Likewise, there is NO CLASS (or race) out there that you can say "100% of them are all jerks".
By the way, I've also never quad kited because I don't agree with that.

There are good and bad of any PC. It just happens that druids have the ability to do more, be it good or bad, than most other classes. This is a proof of the power of a druid, but not necessarily the intelligence of those running such a character.

A mob will summon if it has taken _any_ damage. Even if you haven't personally damaged it, but it has taken damage, and you do anything to get aggro like buff someone or heal, then you may be summoned.

Additionally, I have heard that a mob will start summoning at 97%, but I'm not sure about this.
