Rubicite OreI am a troll SK of Innoruuk, guards conned scowls to me. Tonight using the evil eye shroud I successfully charmed Forpar, after which he conned amiable. I turned in White & Red Scales and Metal Bits and received Mystical Lute Body. It can be done.
edit: I should mention that I first tried to do this without charm using a gnome illusion potion. It brought the guards & Forpar to threateningly. I was able to get the quest text from him by saying 'what next pieces' but when I tried to turn-in he handed the items back and said 'I have no use for this item'

As of the Steamfont revamp, Forpar's new location is (95, -530) in the middle windmill.
Ok, I just did the turn ins with a Dark Elf Necro that MQ'ed, and her /con was Scowling. My faction was Apprehensively.
I Charmed with Solon's Bewitching Bravura. He resisted twice but it landed the third time.
I brought him outside and a little bit away to where the necro was standing.
Necro turned in her piece first, which was the Whip.
I then turned in the Backbone, then the Skull, and then the Note, one at a time. Yes, you have to turn the note back to him with the other 3 items you had to kill for!
He gave me the Lute Head, and I sped out of zone with necro, leaving him behind.

Daheeler, I think I know why. I assume you forgot to give the Gnome his note back together with the 3 Items.

I tried to MQ and failed, here is what I did
I did task with aluring horn and took it to BB and got letter for fopar
took Fopar his letter, with bard
ALT Turned in the backbone/tenical
Bard turned in the wolf head

WTF is the deal...I'm tryin to do my epic and this pos reguards me as an ally when I con him....but he wont talk to me.."get out pesky half elf" is all I get from him....any ideas??

Being amiable with faction song wont cut it anymore. Charming him, he still cons apprehensive. You have to faction. He gives the items back when amiable.
He also returns the items when kindly.

OK i was little worried bout that hand in to this guy before i do undead bard . So he had taken my first hand in's so i decided to try the last one. At lvl 49 he said go kills some gnolls or something to the same effect. He had said this to me before so i shrugged it off and did hand in. This one didnt work, and he handed me back my bits all the scales the red and the white and the metal bits. Lvled up to 50 next night tryed again, got same responce after first hail with cha song in back ground. "Go kill some spiders first " something to that effect . So decided to try hand in. Sure enough he took it and gave me my piece. Off to kill the undead bard and i be swinging me first epic ever. Woots :) Good luck all of you .
With alliance song going I did my first turn ins for the Mystical Lute Head at level 46.
EDIT: had to hit lvl 50 to get Lute Body turn in done.

conned dubious to me .. (paladin half elf) .. turned in my 2 parts of the MQ first and he said nothing .. bard turn in next 2 pieces and he gave her the lute head.

Do not attempt to do epic hand in until level 50 or be prepared to lose your hard earned items.

Just handed horn in at level 39 and got Forpar's List to Himself. Sang faction song on him to raise from apprehensive to amiable. Seems to be on same faction as guards, as they were amiable to me afterwords as well.
Not sure if Stinkas meant don't try handing the list back with the 3 items from the dragonkin, but for you young bards like me who are trying to get and early start on your epic, yes you can get the list at lower level than 50.

Isn't this guy the gnome that makes the lute for you? I want to know if this guy is KoS to human bards. Iv'e only hunted 2-3 clockworks in the newbie "pit", so am I going to be Kos?

When in doubt, your best bet is always to /consider him from a safe distance. If your faction is lacking and you don't have the time to improve it through standard means, you can try using the faction song on him, charming him, sneaking around behind him, etc.

No, he cant. i just lost my horn to him. i conned him and he was aprehensive, so i charmed him, gave him the horn, and nothing.

A bit late for this, but if anyone still wants to know... Yes he can, a while back I had to charm him so a dark elf who had the Trak guts could MQ them for me.

Forpar must be a necro because he was in the mills in steamfont long before gnomes could even be SKs as for killing him i've never tried and only would if i had a full group of people, all he ever did was help me and steal my kills, i actually run to him with my SK and necro cause the gaurds never help
If he was a Necro, he would use HT when in battle.
last time i checked, HT was for Shadowknights, not necro's.. lifetaps are for either class though.

I just killed forpar, and he is factionless.
he cons ally to me like all the gaurds, but upon killing him I got no faction increases or decreases.
He has low magic resist and I was able to solo him at 56 (necro) with great ease. He carries no loot and has a decent amount of HP.

i watched this foo fear kite meldrath, the hero, both of mel's guards, and the odd looking kobold with the WW body that runs around by the mino cave. he is quite the little role model for up and coming gnomies =P

Isnt this guy for the Bard Epic? On Allakhazam Bard Epic Quest it says Forpar but i didnt see what zone it's in.

Yesterday I was lvling with my DE necro and feared a harpy just when darkness wears off. Never could get it to stick again and my stupid /pet back off didn't work. I knew what was going to happen. I ran like hell but had to go around him to zone. He ran out to kill the harpy, then killed the pet and went after me. I didn't think he new how to nuke but next thing is see is:

one time isn't so bad but 2 times sucks. Word of warning when you make a hot key for pet back off don't put another command before it. Example
/say %m leave %t alone.

koolaid i think your problem was you had no pause in between your pet comman and your say command try this it might help...

Actually I don't think he really is a Shadowknight. There are plenty of high level spells that it could have been. He is lvl 51. The reason I think he isn't an SK is that he is on the opposite faction. He is dubious or apprehensive with gnome necros and sk's, but amiable to all other gnomes.
Also killing him raises your faction with the evil gnome faction (the dark reflection)

Well, even if Fopar cons friendly to you, he WILL attack you if you attack an elemental and are fighting anywhere close to the mills. Elementals are agressive and agro on anyone for any reason. Then Forpar comes along, and whack! Running to zone, thank god I had SOW.
sorry, I saw a 29 chanter illusion water elemental and forper came out and beat him down.

Not true. Forpar wiped out a train that was following me, and there was an elemental in it. If you get into trouble, just run around the tower, and he'll wipe out monsters quickly. It's just a pain if you hunt too close to the tower, because he is a major kill stealer too.

I know faction is very important for those Bards doing their epic (like me). By playing around with my faction song I have determined that Forpar is on the same faction as the Guards: Gemchoppers.
This means if you've been hunting clockworks in Solusek's Eye you may have faction issues since that gives a Gemchoppers hit.
Several ways to fix:
1) Use Charismatic Carillion for faction boost
2) Use invis song and make sure you are invis (indif) before doing trades
3) Kill aqua gobbies or Mino's if you are KOS and can't get non-KOS using faction song.
4) *Unverified* Have a chanter charm him to make him amiable to turn in epic pieces.

I con'd him and saw he was 51 (even to me) and decided I wanted none of this so tried to gate out. The little monster summons me out of my cast and pounds on me. I later heard from a Guide that he's an NPC in the Windmill and she's sorry a wandering npc came down that far and killed me like that but what's she supposed to do.
There's something about mages with pets and summoning mobs these days.

This is the saint of all gnomes who hunt in Steamfont near the second windmill. There's a whole field there with pumas, kobold scouts, spiders, and all the rest which makes great hunting, and you rest by the windmill wall. If you get in trouble, this guy is more reliable then a guard. He leaps out and kills the persuing beast in no time flat, saving your mini-arse. However, there's also a downside. If you are killing something that runs away, they ALWAYS run towards the windmill so make sure you kill it before he KS'ses you.

Ya he casts Necromancer spells, but he is the only Gnome Shadowknight that I know of. Every now and then he'll harm touch some things right outside the windmill he's in. It does seem, though, that it's on the player based timer and not the regular NPC timer because rarely he'll HT someting. He's not on Necromancer faction, which is wierd, but as stated before he is on Gemchopper faction.

Me and a friend were camping Mylz, waiting for him to pop when all of a sudden I was punched for 141 and bashed for 49. This isn't good thought I, and preceded to run. I had sow, I figured I'd just boogy. Well, like all 52 plus mobs he can summon and summon me he did. Then I died. I think I got off one "rude gesture" before I fell though.

A good druid friend conned him while he was camping Mino Hero,my druid friend was level 51 at the time, and the con. was yellow. He has a huge aggro range as stated,and for those leveling on Watchmen Mylz,or even Halv,you must exercise great care. Once a player has pulled Forpar out of the Windmill to kill whatever mob is on him,Forpar will continue wandering for quite some time and will cover areas from as far as from the Mino caves,to partway along the pathway to Lesser Fay.By the way,the Druid friend was easily killed by Forpar,it seems once you cast on Forpar he starts fearing you,so perhaps its best to simply run if you dont stand a chance of defeating him

I was lvl 44 and he still con RED to me.
Battle time take only 10 seconds against him, then, "you have been slain by Forpar Fizfla" Loading.....
It seems that this guy is a necro, using all the spells of them, but i never see him with a pet.
Really he is though.

--> he in fact can cast fear and other necro based spells... but not often. Once I was in elemental form, he ran out to attack a rat and saw me... has a HUGE aggro radius... we all know how much guards hate any illusion over level 20. I ran, pulled other guards, and he feared me. I ran right back to him and guards and died.
A second time, i was throttling minos for faction in the mines when he attacked me not far from meldrath!!! he just popped out of the wall and I ran him and guards all the way to Lfay with out casting on me once. Go figure.
Oddest of all, hes a necro or sk, but is gemchopper faction... I am warmly now with the guards and with him as well, whereas I am indiff to akanon faction within the city.

yeah he does hits for around 112 Dont knowq why he hates me , But killed me fast 43 ranger.....Need to find out what faction makes me kos to him
