First of Equestrielle the Corrupt spawned halfway across the zone at -128, 3202, 11. The Pained Unicorn spawned at 908, 1282, -15. Hope this helps anyone looking for either.
68 HIE mage looking for Equestrielle. No sign of her, but the pained unicorn was up. PU scowled at me so I attacked her. Well, Jabn did. I tried a dozen or so spells on her including several malo, only one dd landed for some 1600hps. Rest of the time I healed Jabn and let him do the hard work. Fight took several minutes before she dropped. Light blue con, no loot, not really worth the trouble involved. Definitely the hardest lb fight I have had.

Don't let the level of this mob deceive you any. This mob has roughly 32k hitpoints, and it's regen rate is out of this world. I have seen many level 70's bring it down 2% and it will gain 1% WITH them fighting it.
This mob is resitant to almost ALL magic. Go melee with this one folks and save your magic for heals.

Loc does not work you all hit it on coincidence. Don;t waste your time with loc, I am currently 67th druid on D-Ro and forage 200, I am sitting right now on loc 500.32 , -2285.13, -1.02 about closest to exact loc i could manage and have been here for 2 hrs clicking forage only to get acorns water berries veggies, rabbit meat, some stick and endless more rabbit meat. Loc has nothing at all with spawn, especially now that no one at all exists in any of these old zones, I am find ing that doing regular epic work is like a 1 week process per chapter now that no one at all visits these zones and you have to slay massive amounts of ph's. Suxxor up the you know what !

Meh I see this bugger once a day or more when farming brownies. Druids get track - just run from camp to camp and aoe the orcs and shadowmen and faeries, pixies and skellies. Take on the darkies if you like and kill the brownies for good measure. You *will* pop the unicorn.

Soloed this mob today with my 66 pally. It was a pretty tough fight- took me down to 35m but didn't use LoH. It has a pretty high regen though, barely able to kill it even after it started to run. Had to pray for crits just to bring it down. Without lots of AA and good gear this might not be possible.

I was wondering around GFay and came across the zone in point to LFay. As soon as I zoned in there that sucker stood. I almost tried to run by it but got lucky and just backed up. WHEW...LOL

I feel your pain, Mr. I love Jello. I was waltsing through the woods in lfay when i had those names on the screen turned off. So I thought it was a regular little horse thing and that it would like me. So i ran up to it to put a /pat on it when it came up it said:

I got curious, tried it with my seventh level halfelven druid, and the unicorn left me alone. Of course, it conned amiable, but I just wanted to say that it is not a player-killer.

He's on the Druid faction, if he wasn't amiable to you, you wouldn't be able to do your epic. Anyone that doesn't have good Emerald warrior faction is in trouble if they see him.

I was following a group member today heading to a LDoN group. I was following behind the group member, and I noticed a mummy agro on the other member. I was just about to put that we had a fight when we got to the dungeon zone in, when all of a sudden the pained unicorn jumped out from behind a tree and speared the mummy in the side. The mummy disappeared and the unicorn headed on his way, which was a good thing since i am an inksar monk. Anyway, we get to dungeon zone in, and I sit down and tell the group I was going AFK for a minute for a bio break. I come back about a minute later to see the screen froze up, and looking down on my corpse. I looked at my chat box to see:

This thing has absolutely HUGE resists. I as a 62 mage using fire and magic nukes got about 200 damage in after burning a full tank of mana AFTER putting Mala on it. 65 chanter using magic based spells couldn't land a slow, dot, or nuke for anything after blowing a full tank of mana. If you don't have a tank and a healer for said tank forget taking this thing, its not worth killing anyway. If you get aggro from it just zone if you can.

I can't find any respawn info on this mob, which for a druid just finished all epic drops and wanting to hand them in, is just a little frustrating.
So for those of you at this point...I went to LFay and he wasn't up. I then had to drive home so say 2 hours later he was up next I logged on.
I have no idea when he despawned or when he spawned but I hope that's a starting point for you.

Both Equestrielle the Corrupt and the pained unicorn spawn at about 965, 1275 (or 1275, 965... I'm dyslexic with numbers :-( ) I was going to hunt faeries for fairy wings for spell research and the pained unicorn hit me for average 150 per hit, ranging from 140 - 175 on the 4 hits that killed me.

Ran into this sucker when waiting for some guildies help out our BST with an epic mob in lesser fay. I was 62 at the time and pretty confident that this horse with ugly stick on head was going down - bad move.
It took like 45 sec for me pet to be turned to chutney, almost all my spells where resisted and after 20 sec i started running away in warp 9.
run speed 3 + spirit of Bihn li...it caught up with me easily 8(
I casted FD - horse went away...waited 3 min, by then half the force was in zone, stood up casted damage shield and decided to mem my self succor as i was little lost in zone and didnt know where the exit was.
It took like 15 sec, then i had that horn up my butt, luckily i had damage shield on so i took like 200 damage before FD kicked in - lay in the grass like 5 min, now bard was in zone , so she tracked me and invited me - i stood up and ran - turned out i was almost across the zone. 2 min after i arrived to 15 members in my guild - the horse showed up like a borg cube. But now we managed to kill it - no loot 8(
Horse have huge aggro range and runs faster than spirit of Bihn i doubt that anyone than a bard can outrun it, once aggroed, make sure you zone the hell out or die screaming..

I was in Great Wolf Form at the time and out ran it easly to the zone...I stoped just short of zoning to see if it was still behind me and it was gone. I cast Regeneration on myself and sat down to regain some wealth but he did no come back (thankfully) but just to be safe I did zone to clear argo, before heading about my mary way agian.
But Greater Wolf form seems to be faster, so bards and druids in wolf form can out run him...)

Hmm after a little more study into this matter I found that it wasn't the Unicorn I ran into but was probably Equestrielle the Corrupted, since he this guy is black...but like I said I never got a good look at the name.

Not sure if this affects anything however friend did the final turn in to pained, about 2 hours later I managed to get the corrupted brownie . . suddenly the pained was back on track

ok well myself a 45th season druid and another druid of same, a 65th season cleric, 65th season rogue, and a 52nd season ranger, were all trying to get the corrupted brownie to spawn. after a while of killing tons of brownies we got bored, so one of us saw pained unicorn on track. none of us had any idea what it was for. so we decided to kill it. got the whole group on it. this things HP regen is huge! and must have somewhere around 25k hp. took about 15-20 min to drop it, no loot, and bad faction is all it drops.
after about 10 min later another druid came into zone and asked if anyone had unicorn on track. asked what it was for and got a bad reply.. druid epic... lol, well can't change it now.

65 ranger and myself (65 cleric) took her out today fight was about 10 min, resisted everything, snare, root just had to straight melee and heal, was a fun fight!

She is for Druid and possibly Ranger epic. Druids go to eqdruids.com and read about the epic.. it's for one of the clensed spirits needed for second part of epic quest.

i and a few friends were planning on taking down the corrupted brownie one day to help our druid friend with part of her epic..we see the pained unicorn everytime we go in there. and when i ( a 39 wood elf rogue) do my illusion dark elf, i become KoS, so i'm pretty sure its just evil races who are kos

OR you can turn in muffins in massive quantities to the dorf in West Freeport. Took me a week to go from threatening to Ally. Turned in about 1700 muffins a day.
OH and these faction ARE ON the PoG faction scale. There is 5 or 6 factions in PoG, 4 can be fixed and 2 cannot.

First of all, all the factions can be fixed, one way or another. My druid had been killing everything in PoG and was KoS to everything even remotely on any factions from PoG, including these guys. Well, in order to do the muffin quest (Which btw raises ALL 3 FACTIONS used for the Unicorn), I had to do the batwing quest cause I was highly KOS to the West Freeport guy you give the muffins to. Took me about 6 hours of handing in bat wings as well as muffins to go from high KoS to ally. So it's very doable.

Do any of u think a lvl 30 woodelf ranger (tunare) would be KoS to the unicorn? i want to ask just in case cuz i fight in Lfay a lot

The pained unicorn won't agro onto you. I've walked up to it before (lvl 30 ranger) and it didn't do anything.

some lvl 60 saved my ass tho so I'm Happy and he is the second person who told me that Equestrielle is KoS to all who she see's. sorry had to tell ya :-) Happy Hunting all

Two different ones in L Fay. I need the Pained Unicorn for my Druid Epic. I have already killed the other named. Equestielle the Corrupted. Just me and my merc. Yes it is 2010. I am level 49 Druid, This thing hates me. But it is dead now. Still waiting for the Pained Unicorn to spawn.
First of all, here are links to: Equestrielle and Equestielle the Corrupted. I saw Pained Unicorn today and it was amiable. I even hailed it. It said "I think i saw a fire beetle back a ways that you could kill." I hailed again. "It would be better to spend your time fishing than on a dangerous issue like this." Obviously, I'm still a n00b compared to it, however

there is a pained unicorn that is part of the druid epic. it is different from equestrielle and equestrielle the corrupt. the pained unicorn is indifferent to most people.

Well if all of you people really knew your information about unicorns... then you would know that unicorns only attack when they are forced for as self defense. And a unicorn's horn can heal someone or something that it touches, and unicorns can also teleport... i am not talking about just EverQuest... but unicorns in general.

I've run into this thing twice, I'm an agnostic wood elf warrior and it never once aggroed on me. The second time I was traveling with some guildies of varied races, classes, and dieties. They even stood next to it to take screenshots! I can assure you that it does not aggro.

i havnt tested it yet but i believe the reason the pained unicorn will not agro a druid is because it wont agro wolf form i havnt tested nor do i plan to test if it agros outside of wolf form i like my exp bar goin up not down

Because this unicorn actually has been spotted 5 times on my server near the Gfay entrance in 1 RL week (This is on the Xegony server; don't know about the others) and This could be an advantage so your not aggored on things you can whup in a second. So Druids thirsty for their epic, just sit near Gfay and wait. Trust me. I've seen people do it.

im lv 51 war and i have seen this unicorn many times.. walked up to it .. gave it a kiss on his big wet horse nose .. gave it a carrot.. talked about the weather.. gave it my phone number to call me to go out sometime.. but she never Called.. so i dont know if that counts as agro.. hehe..

My friend and I both walked up to it and petted it and it didn't agro but she was a wood elf druid and I'm a halfing druid

I am almost 100% positive that she will only attack evil characters. I have confirmed that she will not attack wood elves, high elves, humans, or half elves (all group members), so unless you're a dark elf or a troll or ogre etc...I wouldn't worry about her. You'll DEFINITELY need to worry about Equestrielle the Corrupted unless you're well into the 40's or 50's...That thing has killed me 4 times....gragh....
attacks level 65 erudite enchanters. Kills em good too.

it is pained becuase of what is happening to her forest it was once bright and enchanting...but now its dark and lonely =(......or maby it PMS =)
Well wopuldnt you be pained if somone ran through YOUR home evey few seconds? And often whole groups trampling the daisys, tromping tulips and grinding grass to the soil?

Posted: Feb 26 2002 at 7:49 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If i were you i would leave it alone because it is jjust like a lot of other NPC's like Ambassador DVinn they are level whatever but are much harder to kill because they have like lvl 60 buffs that are beyond imagination and if it doesn't attack you or is part of a quest why the hell would you attack it?

Pained Unicorn will not attack (may on evil races) and A Druid must be able to walk up to her because they must hand her things on epic quest to retrieve horn. I had no problem with her.
Equestrielle the Corrupted though was another story, (Black horse) will hunt you down! lol hit me for 490 with a cast. and being in wolf form (to keep brownies at bay) she despelled me and there I was in the open, no wolf form and no sow and slowed. Scary sucker, fortunately i could cast and got heal and wolf form back and ran for my life. Equestrielle is listed as level 40... I dont think so, Im 37 and two hits like that I would have been dead.

This unicorn killed me earlier today, maxed hit for 177 and outran jboots, i didn't stand a chance. I think this thing is on one of the factions u lose when u kill in PoG, cus i remember walking up this thing b4 but now i can't.

Well if you don't believe that there are such items as Unicorn horns you were VERY wrong cause that black horse (don't member the name it's something the Corrupted) drops a Unicorn horn trust me I've looked it up and seen it, once of course =) just somthing some people should know that don't believe in the items Unicorn horns P

Equestrielle (the corrupted balck unicorn ) drops a Unicorn horn - 2 charge item casting Purge (removes disease and poison effects ), nice for PvP but hardly "uber". Equestrielle is something of a pushover, roughly level 45 and has SHK powers but no bothersome pet and rarely casts. As for the pained unicorn... I would rather not mess with her
On the Xegony server this magnificent creature is always up. I havent strolled through Lfay once and not seen him/her on radar. Now the corupted unicorn, i forget its name, is usually up once a week when i stroll though there. I highly doubt that that is its respawn rate, becouse i am not in that zone anymore much. I have been hit by the corupted twice, but never seen it. death tough 401 pts of non melee dmg.

I am a simple potter, and I was walking in lower fay on my way home from a recent trip looking for Iron Oxide to in steamfront. This disgusting thing attacked me, even when i was running along the wall so as not to intrude onthe local habitat. That being said as a 44 Teir'Dal shadowknight with all my darkforge and a total ac of around 815, she took me down fast, with a consistant hit of 177.
Of all times for FD to have me fall to the ground.

I am looking for more people to post more useless information about this thing. I am waiting for it to spawn right now so I can give it 3 things to finish my epic. All I want to know is the spawn time... but of course we get info about people trying to kill it.
(For your info: if it doesn't have any special abilities or over 32khp it can easily be taken out by a group of 60 warrior, cleric, enchanter, and damage dealing melees, but why would you want to kill it? it doesn't drop anything).

The Pained Unicorn is in Lfay everytime I go through it. I have never seen the unicorn, but she is always on tracking.
I check my tracking constantly while in Lfay to see if Estriquelle the corrupted is there, if he is, I zone immediately.
Will the pained unicorn attack if you get close to it?

The pained unicorn won't attack you if your a Druid....that i know for sure...i can go right up to it and touch it...so you could get up close if your a Druid...(the unicorn's part of the Druid epic quest)

ON the Rodcet Nife server (we) the guild Troubles Band were raiding the Zone of Lesser Faydark to kill everything and get some revenge on the Brownie Scouts. Well we had a low turn out so we kind of skipped around and took out the Brownies outpost and medded for the next round.
Well some one /ooc the unicorn is up and all of use (me 38 ranger, 40 rogue, 46 pally, 40 necro, 55 shaman, 54 druid, 49 chanter, 50 cleric ) where like lets try this.
We went up to it being NON-KOS we medded right next to it to ensure it didn't leave.
Well we begain the fight with the shaman and the chanter casting.
I ran in with the pally and the 3 pets from the casters.
So now we have 5 melees on it and a rogue. We are beating this thing for like 5 minutes and I along did at least 300 hp's in damage at the least which isnt much but for the time and running around as it chased the chanter was alot. well we are all beating on it and not even 1/10 of the bar moved. We moved it but not alot. I am guessing that it has the HP of the POD but it was hitting me for 100+ constintly.
We decided to end it so the cleric camped and the caster gated while we fought to keep it in place.
The pally went down and I didn't want to run so I allowed my self to die to save the rogue and the others.
Long story short. I have never heard of anyone taking down the pained Unicorn and thought it would be a good challenge.
But if you attempt to kill this you better have some fire power. At least 2 60 warriors and some clerics. We held are own but was a no win situaion. Triple up on your melees and don't worry about the casters. Not one spell stuck except the Tashni line that is unresistable but that caused the death of the chanter so was usless.

Any other druids out there know if she can be charmed? I have a peice for my epic I need to MQ becuase I couldnt catch the stupid boat for the cyclops. If you have any info please let me know.

HAHA was on a 52 Cleric and this thing agroed and was double hitting for 180's. I didnt attack it I was just running though and am human. so tell me this thing isnt a monster. Luckily I zoned with 28 hps left into G fay so i didnt die. But monster YES .... DEATH TO THE HORSEY 8P

The first time i saw her was by the Steamfont zone, alittle past the Gnome huts. I was looking around and saw something white on a hill. I whent after her to see what it was and i didnt get a good look but was able to click on her name, she whent behind a tree and i could not find her ageain. When I got my tracking I tracked her down and found her in a little valley by a zone wall. I would have stayed longer but ran into a Brownie and had to zone. The next time I saw her I coned her to make sure I was not kos, then walked up and hailed her, she stoped and said some thing back, cant Remember i'll have to get that and post it. I don't see how she can be called a monster, she is no monster! Dont hurt her and she won't hurt u. I'll post what she said tomorrow night.

When u hail her it says "a Pained Unicorn snorts and stamps at the ground. An unusual angry glimmer enters the eyes of what should be one of Tunares most peaceful creatures. Its coat seem's slickened and filthy in places." Is she like another quest something? I tred answering her but got nothing in return.
