30 hours over 4 days And I got the Pipe... Easy solo for a monk level 63... Except when the Fabled Bridge Keeper decided to come out and hit me for 1200s.
UPDATE: Can confirm mob still exists, just takes forever to get to pop (at least from my experience). Been trying this camp for days! Logged on 7:48 am on 6/14/10 and mob was up. Pulled him to top of zone w/ my necro, killed him and looted with my monk. Dropped a Metal Pipe! (looks like wood)
I am using my 66 bst to hold the camp, not very well equipped not even the best stuff in bazaar from TSS era (combine progressive), no no drop stuff aside from gear armors, several attuneables. I can take the entire camp at once 3-4 mobs they get me down to about 50% before I get them all slowed then I heal up and take them out usually end fights near full health and 70m. Hope this gives you some idea as to the camps difficulty. My 47 monk is camped at the bottom of the steep ramp just north of the camp. As far as getting to the camp goes, my monk made it down with little trouble, no invis Sow V potion just ran until i got to the bridge before the camp fd'd waited for health to get back up, then ran passed camp to the spot on the steep ramp, and there I wait for bst to get the betrayer to die.
For those of you who, like me, didnt get any help from these retards posts here is where the Iksar Betrayer spawns. All you gotta do is find where the Ancient Guardian/The Bridgekeeper spawns on the bridge, and if you are facing away from the Ancient Guardian/The Bridgekeeper (where the AG/BK is facing) the Iksar Betrayer's PH is like 3 steps in front of him before the bridge on the left. So hes on the same side of the bridge as the AG/BK, in front of him just to the left of the bridge entrance. GL!
Can someone please tell me exactly where this guy spawns? I have been camping the area a little south of the Captains room, the spot where the 2 bridges connect. Is this right? If anyone who has killed him recently could please say where exactly he spawned it would be appreciated. Thanks!
spawns at -325, -36, -114......if your lucky, otherwise it will be a Di-zok Legionnaire, Chokidai Wardog, Chokidai Fleshripper, Dizok Dragoon or Reanimated Dragoon.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you thought you heard was not what I meant.
Last night I was able to get my pipe drop off the Iksar Betrayer. I am a level 52 Monk and had never been to Chardok.
2 guildes level 70+ were there for about an hour before I got there. They killed the placeholders until I arrived.
Earlier that day I died trying to get to the camp spot because the doggies see through invis. So, on the second attempt I casted Lev, Invis, and I used sneak the entire way in to the safe hall. I made it there undetected. Make sure you lev up to the ledge near the ramp the exit. Then, hug the right wall until you get to the safehall just before the Iksar Safe point. Watch out for the king room; I did not see him and I am happy!
Once my guildies logged out, my husband logged in his level 71 BST. Together we soloed anything that popped including the Gatekeeper and the Ancient. The Iksar was even easier.
In total we probably only camped 3 hours yesterday before he spawned for me. However, guildies has been checking in and killing Ph's for a day or so prior.
Very Easy Camp IMHO. Just hard as heck to get to when you do not know the zone and your map does not work. Get a good Map, one high level friend that loves to take care of you, and make it a date!

Thanks for you input ...your sneak while invis got me past the see invis doggies and to the bridge where i camped out and brought my 75 paly down the path killing as he went....the doggies see thru invis like you said, and paly's have no sneak....but nice ac mitigation and dps not bad either ...pulled the area by accident survived no problems got ph at the same time as well as ancient guardian.....will let ya know what game times phs spawn.../salute
I finally got the betrayer to pop after about 21 hours of camping him off and on over 4 months. I prepared by going to Frontier Mountains and clearing the goblin caves many many times (with the help of my two-boxed cleric for PBAE duty). That plus the mineral salts and goblin skins got me to Ally faction in Chardok. (I also took advantage of that to do the quest for the DS ring.) Sure, the sarnaks and iksar are ancient enemies; I viewed it as a way of infiltrating their defenses. :-)
The good faction meant the cleric and I could stroll into Chardok any time I wanted and try camping the betrayer for a while. I could even camp there and not have to worry about the camp having repopped when I came back. Sometimes friends joined me; they were usually KoS, but if they could go invis then the cleric could Pacify any see-invis mobs (undead plus the chokidai "sniffers") if they wanted to get to the camp without fighting a lot.
At the camp itself, I usually pulled across the eastern bridge to where there are just two sentry mobs. If I had a group we'd clear that area and then break the camp, pulling over the bridge. If I was solo I sometimes did the same, but sometimes I would kill just the PH. The cleric could Pacify both bridge sentries, and the two mobs near the PH, and even the mob on the western bridge if it was inclined to add. With extended range he could do all that from the eastern end of the bridge, using /assist to target them all. My monk would use his Phantom disc to lull the Ancient Guardian or Bridgekeeper (which is too high level for the cleric's paci), then throw something at the PH to draw it over. The cleric would then continue to pacify the two sentries at the eastern end of the bridge while the monk beat down the PH. The cleric would take no faction hit unless he decided to throw in a nuke to help end the battle.
One other trick I found was that, if I was there with a group of KoS players, I could feign death just before someone else took the kill-shot, and most of the time (not always) I would avoid taking a faction hit.
After the 21 hours of camping, which probably involved killing 40-50 placeholders (375 kills, can't really be sure how many were PH), I finally got the betrayer to pop. I was there with just the cleric, and decided to let the cleric keep watch while I soloed the betrayer, since there was a chance the guardian would repop during the fight and having the cleric on the betrayer's hate list could get messy. Was a little sloppy in my excitement but got the kill with 0% hits left. Now I'm off to find Brother Balatin again. (Met him before as part of Whistling Fists iksar quest. I hope he doesn't remember me!)
been here twice now.. first time 4 spawns-no betrayer 2nd time 4 spawns- no betrayer im still here, just now having killed the 4th set..
62 monk here duoing with 64 beastlord .. both of us have Conv, she has no KEI anymore not having too many problems long as we only have 1 or 2 at a time, nearly had a death last spawn cause a mob got knocked back a bit and aggroed all the mobs .. will update as we kill

just got him today in the exact spot listed in the other posts, just me (63 monk) and a necro lvl 65, we set up camp at the top of the tunnel you need to lev to get into, killed the one mob at the top, then i, having dubious faction, ran in to grab the betrayer (since i noticed he was up) i pulled him all the way back to the camp, and had the necro snare and we both FDed off all the adds, then we had a solo betrayer to kill and i got my pipe, YAY =D thank you vazral couldn't have done it without ya
I used the map from a couple posts down to get there and set up my camp, hoping it was correct, at least from my camp it shows that it was. The respawn cycle on the iksar betrayer PH and regular surrounding mobs is 16 min, on the Ancient Guardian / Bridge Keeper it is a bit longer at 25, so I only had to kill it once per 2 cycles. Also watch out for enrage on the Guardian/Keeper, they do it, can hurt alot, also Betrayer enrages as well, but nothing here summons. Do not have to worry about aggro from the Captain room, he was up the whole time I was down there, and never added once. Was 3boxxing the camp, lev 42 monk fded there the whole time, 60 cleric, amiable to chardok, and 64 mage, dubious to chardok.
1st cycle - Attacked Guardian in his cubby, had 2 adds, Reanimated Dragoon from the bridge, and Di'zok Dragoon, from directly across from the betrayer PH, the betrayer Ph did not aggro. Got all adds on my pet, healed pet till dead, to clear for Betrayer PH. In the Betrayer spawn point was a Di'zok Legionnaire, pulled him to cubby of Ancient guardian, killed, started timer for spawn cycle.
2nd - Betrayer PH Chokidai Wardog, Chokidai Fleshripper on Bridge, DID NOT aggro on pull, Di'zok Dragoon across from PH, did aggro, so killed both PH and Dragoon, started 16 min timer on Betrayer spawn.
3rd - Bridge Guardian spawned, different timer, around 25 min approximately, would just wait till 1 min before every second betrayer PH to pop before killing the big guy, dropped Stained CLoth Mask, betrayer PH Di'zok Legionnaire, no aggro from any other mobs.
gonna make my comments shorter now seeing as the pattern for my killing is set up.
4th - Betrayer PH - Reanimated Dragoon (No Adds) - Ancient Guardian spawned, I was bored so I killed it early last time, note to self, try not to do that to often, faction hits and all.
5th - Di'zok Legionnaire
6th - Di-zok Legionnaire - Ancient Guardian
7th - Dizok Legionnaire - Bridge keeper, spawned halfway or so between Betrayer PH's, bored again so killed, dropped mask.
8th - Reanimated Dragoon
9th - Di'zok Dragoon - Ancient Guardian
10th - Chokidai Wardog (Watch out for Rabies )
11th - Dizok Dragoon - Ancient Guardian
12th - Di'zok Legionnaire
13th - Chokidai Fleshripper - Ancient Guardian, dropped a Black Sapphire
14th - CHokidai Fleshripper
Here I had to go afk for a couple hours and head out, so left my guys sitting there in camp, someone actually sent me a tell asking for me to move, would have thought they would see that i am sitting around mobs, so am not kos here, oh well, and one other thing, there was one other train while i was down here, just happy I was not fighting at the time, sure my cleric doesnt get any aggro from pet heals so is completely safe area for rezzing, but would have been oh so annoying.
KK, back and started my pattern again, no one had killed the mobs I had on bridge or across from my ph so they still didnt aggro.
15th - Di'zok Dragoon - Ancient Guardian
16th - Chokidai Fleshripper
17th - Killed the Ancient Guardian - OMG Iksar Betrayer has spawned, almost have a heart attack I am so happy, kill, loot pipe on my monk who had been fded at camp whole time.
Total Camp time, lets see, 17 spawns, * 17 min (1 min for PH kill) = 4 hours and 49 min.
Mage is still dubious in chardok, cleric never got a single faction hit whole time.
Run to DL, bring my 60 enchanter with me just for charm, charm skelly, do turn in, put on fancy yellow robe
Grats me on my robe of the whistling fists, which the effect is working nice for me at lev 42.
The Iksar Betrayer IS soloable by a 65 Monk. I did it today. The Iksar Betrayer himself is an easy solo, the problem is fighting him solo without the surrounding mobs adding. First of all, I had 'kindly' faction in Chardok, which definitely helped. Fighting the Betrayer where it stood, only one other mob would aggro- a reanimated Dragoon; and taking the 2 at once was not possible. Pulling the Betrayer away from the Dragoon didn't work either, as the Ancient Guardian would add, and further down the Watch Captain would add. The first thing I had to do is solo the Ancient Guardian in his alcove, he is the PH for the bridgekeeper. Nothing added when fighting him, and I didnt have to use any disciplines to kill it. Next I bandaged myself back to full health, Phantom Called the Reanimated Dragoon, and pulled the Iksar betrayer to the bridgekeeper's alcove. There I was able to solo the betrayer without any adds, and an Innerflame and Whirlwind later the Betrayer was dead :0) With Kindly faction, the live Sarnaks DO NOT add while fighting Betrayer, though undead ones, the bridgekeeper, and the Captain will add. So using the above method worked fine.
It should be noted that this bridge is en route to royals, and that people headed to chardokB will get hit w/ bard aoe chorus song, thus causing aggro to xfer to the bard if you are unknowingly standing on the bridge when a KOS person runs into chardokb.
Was camping this guy last night for my monk and a clueless bard (w. a royals raid) was AFK on the bridge and their song hit someone passing thru to chardokb. Needless to say a very nasty train found him in a min or so after they had collected all their buddies for severe rapage.... and I was forced to evac out and unforunately spend another 30-45 min fighting my way back down
If this is in reference to the post that gives a line to be pasted into your map file, the reason that loc is backwards is because that's how locs are represented in the file: swap the n/s and e/w coords, and negate both of them also.
The loc -300, -100, is actually the Bridge Keeper and its PH. Judging from other posts here, the betrayer PH is actually a short ways off. When I get my epic piece I'll verify the loc.
Ok, this is my first ever post on the message board. I just got done killing this guy Again. First time was months ago with a 62ish monk and 62ish Shaman. It was a seven hour straight camp and it popped... pretty easy kill. I just got done with this camp again today. The loc N100,N300 is the actual crook in the wall where either the Bridgekeeper, or the Ancient Guardian spawn. I could not confirm this, until today as my memory fades so quickly, but the Bridgekeeper and Ancient Guardian are not exactly the PH, as the Iksar Betrayer Popped as i was fighting an Ancient Guardian. The Iksar Betrayer seems to PoP about one step out and a step to the left of the crook in the wall. I would say there are 5 static mobs that you need to keep cleared, and it would be safer to also clear the Captain room, which is an additional 3 mobs. Having a snarer is excellent, or root before they run if you have to. Holding the camp once it is boken is not hard, just letting one get away and cause adds is the biggest problem. One word of warning for those of you that cannot stay put due to a boring camp. **Be careful if you go south from this camp, as there is a nasty trap on the bridge**
Xspeed 65 Shammy (The Rathe ) yes the pipes did go to my friend's and my 2-box monks.
How was it getting down there to the camp for you? Biggest problem I've had is even getting to the camp because the respawns are so quick that as I'm trying to single off the Bridge Keeper things are spawning on my group. Out of the nine groups that I've brought in the past week only about 4 have gotten to the camp. (Altough alot of the time this is because people have to leave.)
Yes, there is, though I have not ecountered it myself as I heard of it before going and thus took care not to even step foot on the bridges, though from what I have gathered it is only on the one that leads to where Korocust spawns. Supposedly, if it hits you you need to be evaced or CoTHed out or somesuch.
This site wasn't all that helpful in my epic for this particular piece, so I got a map and loc here of EXACTLY where the guy spawned for me November 27, 2003.
www.circleofsouls.org/ maps/maps.htm Copy and paste this for the map, he spawned at -100, -300
Also here is a verbal explanation. At the enterance there are two tunnels, one to zonein and one to zone-out right? well halfway through is the actual "ent" to this zone. Facing that "entrance" look to your left along the top of the wall and you'll see a ledge. Levitate to that ledge and start your way down it hugging the right wall. You will eventually get to the captains room and the Ancient guardian/ Bridge keeper. kill anything near where the Bridge keeper spawns and you'll get your betrayer.

Gratz and I was wondering about how to make him pop. My friends and I were clearing the ledge where the bridge keeper spawns but hadn't got the betrayer to spawn. I asked some other monks on my server but it seems alot of people forget or just can't remember exaclty were this guy spawned. Thanks for post and hopefully I'll get my second pipe and demon fangs before to long.
Followed links, specific links to map seem to be broken... got a backup anywhere by chance?
-100, -300.. on the map I'm looking at, that would be right in a little nook in the wall, or on the bridge.. seeing as I get my locs mixed up all the time. Can anyone verify which one it is please?
Look at my post above, the link is a little messed up but just click maps on the site it brings up, then click chardok. The map in the lower righthand corner at -100, -300 is where he spawned

He is not as rare as raster, but of course individual experiences will differ as it is all random. It took me 150 RL hours to get raster, about 30 to get betrayer, and one hour to get pawduster. My friend got raster in 2 hours, but took him 80 hours for betrayer and 50 for pawduster. So just random luck. We owned camp with a 56 monk, 65 chanter, 56 warr and 59 cleric. With gear being what it is these days a well equipped group of 50's would probably have no problem...just depends on your gear. If you have average non-twinked gear you might want a group of mid 50's to do it. Just my opinion.
No mobs at this camp summon. They all hit for around 150-190 and golems hit maybe a bit higher. My self I take in my wizard and I get a 65 beastlord coming with me and we could clear the camp 10 times over if we had too. Beastlord has a tank pet with insane heals on it, slow, haste, small player heals plus all the buffs that they give the pet for the procs and such and also the hp/mana regen spiritual dominion, and with my wizard i obviously have nukes, concussion if it's a high damager, 8 second stun spells that can be chained for nearly permanent stun, root, snare and evac. On the side of being able to quickly kill or safety this is the perfect way to duo the camp. The iksar betrayer PH is on the left of the left stone wall of the bridge with the waterfall visible down from it. He is a wuss, maybe takes 5% more effort to take him down than to take down a reanimated dragoon or some trash mob. This guy's spawn rate is probably a high percent compared to the other pipe in KC, it usually only takes 4-5 hours to get him and the first time I camped him he did spawn at about 4 hours. So do yourself a favor, come in with people who have at least 7 hours to blow and get the pipe and never have to come back again...
Ok look at this, this is the only info you ever need and screw these moron explainations. At the entrance where there are the two tunnels leading from zone in to zone out, levitate into the hole up and to the left of that big entrance. Go down the tunnel killing mobs and hugging the right wall. When you reach the captains door it will be in the right side and there will be a ramp up to either the "Ancient Guardian" giant golem or "The Bridge Keeper" giant golem. After they are all dead the placeholder for this mob is here
Iksar Betrayer PH/Left Wall/Bridge/Right wall
(Sorry for the non graphical thing but the font used on this posting system is a piece of crap)
This is the sight of looking down the bridge at the waterfall from the Ancient Guardian/The Bridge Keeper's little spot. The placeholder is that one mob on the left of the left wall. And there you have it, you know how to get there and you know what to kill. Get cracking... :p

Posted:Oct 16 2003 at 9:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Sigh, go in the fort get lev gflux up 45.6 coords turn around in circles hop up and down and there's his PH. Can you guys give a loc and maybe a place on the map he is, there are many bridges in the zone and so far I saw on bridge where i'm looking across it and there's a waterfall. Is this the camp? It's like a place where there are 3 bridges and from the one you cross first going the entrance way the waterfall is across the right one. If this is it please tell me...
Umm, the guy just a few posts below yours gave the exact location. Read a little. Anyway, from entrance clear down to barracks. From there, there is a tunnel up and to your left. Levitate and hit that tunnel. Just stay right until you get to the bridge. Just past the spawn point of the Bridgekeeper/ancient there is a rock sticking out of the wall...the PH pops on the right side of the bridge straight across from that rock. Hope this helps.
This will sound like a Tall Tale, but it is true. Camped him with guildies every night for a week straight. On the 6th night (tonight), after about 30 hours total, he finally popped and I got my pipe. AA xp in Chardok is pretty decent, so not a waste of time like Raster, at least. We had one other monk guildie in group and I said, "Watch him get Betrayer on the very next pop." Everyone laughed and said ya, right, etc., etc. Next pop, second betrayer in a row, no joke. We were all shocked...but very happy. After that we gated as we had all had our fill of Chardok for a long while. So be patient...he will pop eventually. Good luck to all you fellow monks out there.
Spawn spot is right near N330 by N40. After 7 hours and group ready to leave on next spawn we got him for my monk. Had a 65war, 59ranger, 58druid, 58cleric, 65druid (myself for my 52monk) and we did this way easy. The 58druid and cleric leveled and war and myself got an AA from the camp along with aother loot and plat. It was random spawn at that site, anything pop from skele to dog and such. The timer was on 16min with the bridgekeeper on 26min. For any that are going to do the MQ turn in its a must to have a chanter charm for turn in, we found out lol. Only the last 3 parts for me to go for my monk, air plane here i come.

Since no one here has posted a loc. He spawns at neg 330 neg 40. On the left side if you are looking down the bridge toward the waterfall. We killed him last night after about a 4 hour camp.
Hello again fellow monks of Norrath. I am here to tell you about the elusive yet obtainable Betrayer camp. Do not get your hopes down from some of the posts on this forum. He was not that bad.
First piece of advie is to be guilded or to have a series of 50+ friends who are willing to sacrifice about 6-8 hours (This is an estimate, it could be 16 min of their day) of their day to help you out.
The camp is fairly easy to hold down and the loot and exp is nice. When you arrive at Chardok have your group(s) invis up and lev up run past the barracks entrance to the ledge. Run down the shaft murdering everything in your path always staying right. You will eventually come to a T junction that either leads straight or right. Go right, killing the captain in the room to your right, and proceed up the ramp to a platform with two bridges. The PH is on the wall next to the bridge that leads to the water fall. I highly suggest getting a map. From this point the PH spawns every 16 min. I noticed all the other spawns except the Ancient Golem are also on a 16 min timer.
Well held this camp alright for 3 hours when the Betrayer Spawned. He is a pretty easy fight so no worries. If you head there with one group I recommend you bring nothing but 55+ people as you can wipe rather quickly and the CR is be damn near impossible with the kind mix of living and undead creatures.
Good Luck to you fellow monks. Strive hard and obtain what is rightfully yours!

Was there last night with two groups of mid 50's. Our troup leved to the upper tunnle and fought down to the captians room, with nice fd pulling from the monk after the pipe drop and good tagging from one of our warriors (had my SK there this time ) we cleared the captains room easy. Then used the room to pull the mobs from the bridge keeper area...once that was cleared we parked at the bridge keepers spawn point...pulled mobs there for about 3 hours and with abit of luck the iksar poped right in front of us just as the groups were gettting ready to pack it in.
Two ways to get to him, Zone in to chardok, clear to the fort
go thru the fort and drop down to your left at the first bridge, take the first right, then the first left, and then first right. The door there is the DiZok Captain's room.
Clear to zone out, someone in the group casts Lev/DMF and everyone gets a running start and move your self up the the tunnel just past the fort. Clear down keeping to the right. The door there is the DiZok Captain's room. 4 mobs in there : 26 min 30 sec respawn.
Up the ledge is the Bridge Keeper and behind the wall is the PH for the Iksar Betrayer (16 min 30 second respawn), rest of area is 26m30secs.Bring a mezzing (Bard /Enchanter) and evacing class, 55+ tank, and good healer. Enjoy the the XP, don't expect him to pop anytime soon. He was worse than my raster camp but at least i was there with friends.

Gotta remember. Most of the people saying they did 'Something' either got lucky, or they're just trying to start flame wars. Very few actually share / prove it.
There is no trick to spawn raster. I myself have had him spawn 3 times in a total of 5 hours, and others are more unfortunate and can have up to 200 hours or something absolutely ridiculous. Longest i've heard is 200 hours anyway... I believe he is 1 in 20 spawn (5%) at certain times in EQ. In that he will not spawn at all at certain times and 5% at others, so i have heard. 5am and 10am in the morning and 6pm and 12pm at night or something. Though this has never been proved he did pop for me all 3 times, at these times, but i dont spose thats still true proof.

I have spent more time now trying to get the betrayer to spawn than any other part of my epic. I was able to get Raster in about 20 to 25 RL gaming hours and also discovered that his spawn timer is exactly 3 RL days - through the help and info of some other monks on Xev. I got very lucky and got a KC pipe after getting a hand group and only spending 4 or 5 hours there. The sash quests were easy at level 54 and only took about 2 hours. Took about 3 hours of killing Hasten/a Drake/Maldyn to get Zephyl to pop. Bought the Purple headband for 1500pp cause I heard what a nightmare the quest was. Got Targin about 5 hours after I got Raster and I have a theory that he may be an exact 3 day RL spawn timer also due to the fact that the other monks also got him around the same time after they got Raster.
All in all I have spent about 30 RL hours down in Chardok but it kind of sucks because Chardok on Xev is a BYOG zone (bring your own group) and it's really best that everyone be level 52+ and you have one enchanter. I have probably killed about 40 or 50 PH's for the Betrayer and no luck getting him yet. Kinda sucks that Raster was easier.... hell I completed the RoTLC quest in one day from scratch after I got Raster to pop.... now I've been waiting on Betrayer for over 2 weeks :(

WOOHOO, Iksar Betrayer up and yes it dropped the pipe for monk epic! Its spawn place is next to the normal spawn point of BK. If the Drolvarg Pawbuster "only" spawned twice a day I wouldnt have been there for two weeks trying to get his sorry self. Thanks for the info on his new spawn point since the changed Chardok up, you guys have been lots of help.
We searched him out and killed him last night. He was red to 54, so he was at least 57... Not too hard of a fight....even with the 3 adds we had. Our 60 ranger tried to kill aggro by sacrificing himself, but it didnt work, as they all came down anyway....I almost died, as well as 52 chanter, but luckily, no one but the ranger died...
we killed him on the way to royals ... and even though we had a big group ... I could still tell that something was different ... he has definately been beefed up since the dungeon change ... I read level 57 on one sight ... that sounds about right
the new location for the kisar betrayer is on the small platform that the bridges combine onto with the nook the ancient guardian/bridge keeper likes to stand. he spawns within 5 ffet of the bk on the korocrust side. be prepared to fight 5 things when u take him on - the platform has 2 nooks and a rock that hides pops.
